What this does, in plain terms
ChatGPT shows sponsored cards to travelers as they plan trips. Your ads point at your own booking pages, and Kismet’s tracking attributes every click through to bookings, so you see real revenue per campaign instead of just clicks.
Why you create the account: it’s OpenAI’s rule. Advertising agencies can’t create accounts on behalf of clients, and your brand name and logo appear on the ad itself, so the account must be yours. Kismet joins as an invited admin afterward.

Create your account
Go to ads.openai.com and click Sign up. If you already have an OpenAI or ChatGPT account, just log in with it.
Business details
Enter your legal business name exactly as registered, since it’s checked against your EIN. Add your website and pick your real industry category, for example Travel & Hospitality. Your public brand name comes later.
Account details
Check these twiceSet country, currency, and time zone. These are permanent and can never be changed. Advertiser type: Business. For the agency question, choose “No, I only run ads for my own business”. That’s the true answer: it’s your account, and Kismet is your invited admin, not the owner.
Country, currency, and time zone lock at creation. A mistake here means starting over with a new email, so double-check before you continue.
Skip the campaign wizard
OpenAI auto-drafts a first campaign at $100/day. Click Skip for later. Your real campaigns come from your Kismet dashboard with tracked booking links, so results attribute back to revenue.
Billing
Add your card, billing address, and invoice email, and add your AP inbox as an Invoice CC. Billing is postpaid autopay: nothing spends until a campaign is enabled, and enabling stays behind your approval in Kismet. Expect the ~$100 temporary hold.
Logo
A logo is required before ads can serve. It renders on the ad unit next to your name. The uploader auto-fetches from your website; accept it if it looks right, or upload (or paste a URL to) your own square mark.
Verify your business
Find the banner and click Start verification. If it errors, just retry; the button is flaky. You’ll answer a few minutes of verification questions (legal name, EIN). Don’t submit twice. Status lands in Settings and your email.
Review takes a few days, but it runs in the background. You can finish everything else in this guide while it processes.
Invite Kismet
Go to Settings → Users → Invite, enter the Kismet admin email, and assign the Admin role. It has to be Admin specifically; other roles can’t manage the pieces we run for you.

Once we’re in, we issue the API keys, connect your account to your Kismet collection, and switch on tracking. Campaigns are created paused, and nothing ever spends until you enable it in your Kismet dashboard.
Don’t install the pixel script OpenAI shows you. Kismet’s platform already serves it on your booking pages the moment we connect. No code on your end.
Security & trust
You stay in control the whole way
You own the account. Kismet is a removable invited user. Revoke access any time in Settings → Users.
Your card, your approval. Postpaid, and campaigns are created paused. Enabling spend is a deliberate action in your dashboard.
We never see your login. The invite flow means no shared passwords, ever.
Tracking with nothing to paste. Kismet serves the pixel on your pages. No code changes on your end.
FAQ
Common questions
How long does this take?+
About 10 minutes of clicking. Business verification then reviews for a few days, but it runs in the background, so you won’t wait on it.
What’s the $100 charge?+
It’s a temporary authorization hold to confirm the card is valid, not a charge. It drops off on its own.
What does “Postpaid autopay” mean?+
Spend accrues to a threshold and then bills your card automatically. And nothing spends at all until you enable a campaign in Kismet.
Can I change my country, currency, or time zone later?+
No. They’re permanent at account creation. That’s why Step 3 asks you to check them twice.
Who can see billing?+
You, and any Admin you invite. That’s why Kismet’s invite has to be the Admin role: it’s what lets us manage campaigns and billing on your behalf.
What if verification asks for more documents?+
Answer from your registered business records. Don’t re-apply or submit a second time; that can reset the review.
