Seaside

Oregon's original beach resort town, Seaside has been welcoming visitors to its wide, sandy shores for well over a century — and it's easy to see why. The iconic two-mile beachfront Promenade invites leisurely strolls with the Pacific Ocean as your backdrop, while the lively downtown is packed with shops, arcades, restaurants, and the beloved Seaside Aquarium. Whether you're building sandcastles with the kids, surfing at "The Cove," or browsing the historic turnaround at the end of the Lewis & Clark Trail, Seaside delivers that classic, carefree Oregon Coast experience that keeps generations of visitors coming back.

Great location. Pictures were exactly how the condo looked in person. Very clean and well maintained. They did have a bit of construction on the building itself while we were visiting. But it wasn’t an issue. It’s close to everything, we walked everywhere. The close beach access was great. Comfortable stay. The sauna and pool were great too.

The view from our condo at Sand & Sea was truly spectacular. We enjoyed the sunsets and people watching on the beach. We had everything we needed for a a very peaceful stay. Being right on the Prom was a plus for daily walks. Construction on the building was not a problem, parking was easy and the staff was helpful and courteous. Thanks for a beautiful sister trip on the Oregon coast.

It was a great unit and we love the ocean views. I did lower the rating on accuracy as we were not happy that the second bedroom didn't have a door due to interior work being done. We also didn't like the torn up wall over the fireplace. Otherwise, it was a wonderful place to stay.

My family and I had a wonderful stay, the only thing I wish was different is that we stayed longer ☺️. The views are incredible the condo was so peaceful. Easy access to the beach and fun around town. Next time we will have to stay a little longer.

We loved the condo and its views! Just awesome. Comfy beds. Everything worked. Location is awesome. There is construction going on on the exterior facing town. It didnt affect our stay but not sure about weekday stays! Loved the property!

This was a beautiful place right on the beach. Anytime we wanted food we just walked over a block and has dozens of choices. It’s also only about 30 minutes from Cannon Beach so lots of parks and beautiful scenery.

Frequently asked questions

The single best stay in Seaside is on or adjacent to the Promenade — the 1.5-mile beachfront boardwalk that runs the length of town. Cascadia Getaways' largest cluster of Seaside inventory sits inside the Sand & Sea building, an oceanfront condo complex directly on the Prom with resort amenities (indoor heated pool, sauna) and units ranging from cozy 2BR getaways up to interconnected 4BR layouts. For travelers who want a standalone house rather than a condo, Elk Ridge and Blue Heron deliver oceanfront luxury and chef-kitchen retreat options respectively.

Seaside is the right pick when you want a walkable beach town with restaurants, shops, an arcade, and the Promenade right outside your door — it's livelier, more affordable, and better for families with kids. Cannon Beach (10 miles south) is quieter and more upscale, with a gallery-and-bistro vibe around Haystack Rock, but you'll drive for most meals. Both share the same wide, flat Oregon Coast beach; the difference is the surrounding town. Many guests pair them — a few nights of each on a longer trip.

For true beachfront, the Sand & Sea building on the Promenade has the deepest inventory: Sand & Sea 306+308 (two interconnected oceanfront condos, 4BR/4BA, sleeps 12 — the largest configuration in the building), Promenade 502 (top-floor 3BR oceanfront penthouse), Sand & Sea 614 "Tillamook Vista" (top-floor luxury), and Sand & Sea 602 "Beach Palette" (pet-friendly, panoramic views). For a standalone oceanfront house, Elk Ridge sleeps 10 with a private hot tub and direct beach access.

July through September is the most reliable for warm, dry weather — daytime highs in the mid-60s to low-70s, the lowest rainfall of the year, and the peak of the beach-town energy. Late spring (May/June) and early fall (October) are quieter and cheaper with shoulder-season pricing. Winter is the famous Oregon Coast storm-watching season, and Seaside is one of the better bases for it because the town itself stays open year-round, unlike smaller coast towns that go quiet. Plan for fog, drizzle, and cool temperatures even in summer — this is the Pacific Northwest, not California.

Yes — Seaside is one of the most dog-friendly towns on the Oregon Coast. Dogs are welcome on the beach year-round, the Promenade allows leashed dogs, and many restaurants have dog-friendly patios. Pet-friendly rentals in the collection include Sand & Sea 312 "Coastal Range", Sand & Sea 414 "Hang 10 Hideaway", Sand & Sea 518 "Oceanview Cove", Sand & Sea 602 "Beach Palette", and the Blue Heron house.
