Information We Collect

We take a minimal data collection approach:

• Search parameters: Dates, guest counts, and property preferences you provide when browsing or checking availability. These are used to query property systems and are not retained beyond the session.
• Page interactions: Anonymous, aggregate usage metrics (e.g., which listings are viewed, search frequency) to improve our service. These do not identify individual users.
• AI plan-in links: When you click a "Plan in" link (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, etc.), property context is included in the URL. This data is sent to the AI platform you chose, subject to their privacy policy.

We do not collect or store:

• Names, email addresses, or contact information (unless you create an account)
• Payment or financial information
• Precise location data or device identifiers

How We Use Information

Information is used exclusively to:

• Display vacation rental listings with accurate property details, amenities, and location information
• Check real-time availability and provide rate quotes from property management systems
• Generate AI-ready property context so you can research properties through AI assistants of your choice
• Improve and maintain the quality of our platform

Data Sharing

We share information only as follows:

• Property management systems: Search parameters (dates, guest counts) are sent to the property's booking system to retrieve availability and rates. No personal data is included.
• AI platforms: When you use "Plan in" links, property context (name, location, dates) is passed to the AI platform via URL. These platforms have their own privacy policies.
• Property managers: Property managers who list on Kismet can see aggregate analytics about their listings (view counts, search appearances). They cannot see individual visitor data.

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Cookies and Local Storage

We use minimal cookies for session management and user preferences (such as saved properties and deployment mode). We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Analytics cookies, if used, are anonymous and aggregate.

Data Retention

Search and browsing data is processed in real-time and not persisted beyond the active session. Aggregate usage metrics are retained for up to 12 months. Server logs (IP addresses, timestamps) are retained for up to 30 days for security purposes.

Security

All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher. Our infrastructure is hosted on secure cloud platforms with industry-standard access controls, monitoring, and incident response procedures.

Your Rights

Because we do not collect or store personal data from browsing sessions, there is generally no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you have created an account, you may request access to or deletion of your account data by contacting us. We will respond within 30 days.
