When you need some downtime, The Railmans’ House has everything you need. In the living room you can get cosy on the comfy teal blue sofa. Well-equipped for full relaxation, the room features a flat-screen TV with Freeview channels, creating the perfect environment to curl up and watch your favourite shows. You’ll also find an original cast iron fireplace which adds charm to the property.
At the rear of the living room is where you’ll find the property’s fully-equipped, stylish kitchen. The kitchen will provide a wide selection of items you can use for preparing and enjoying a home cooked meal.
In the centre of the room you will find a dining table and chairs, perfect for two.
From the kitchen, you can head straight outside to the ‘yarden’. Sit back and relax in this lovely south-facing area which features decking, two seating areas, and three raised flower beds. The garden features festoon lights which create a romantic atmosphere in the evening.
The king size bedroom at The Railman’s House is a comfortable and welcoming space. It comes with ample storage space for your belongings and offers a homely and tranquil environment for you to relax in.
The bathroom is yet another generously sized space. Refurbished to an immaculate standard, it has a freestanding bath tub and a separate shower, as well as a wash basin and WC.

The Railman’s House is located just a short 20-minute walk from York City centre so you’ll be well placed to explore all that the city has to offer.
Placed perfectly half-way between London and Edinburgh, York is a stylish hotspot with more attractions per square mile than any other destination in the UK.

From the ancient walls of Roman York to the grandeur of Georgian York, the city is packed with history and charm. Explore The Shambles - a cobbled street which is lined with Elizabethan buildings – where you’ll find a mixture of shops and eateries. Be amazed by the 7th century York Minster and the stunning views from the Central Tower which leads to the highest point in the city.
Step outside of the centre and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. The beautiful Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and Wolds are right on the doorstep so you can enjoy long walks in the countryside.
If you fancy venturing further afield, Leeds is easily accessible via the A64. Alternatively, you could hop on the train and be there in around half an hour. Harrogate can also be reached easily by rail in under 40 minutes.
Getting around can be done on foot very easily and pleasantly from The Railman’s House.

York train station is a short walk away from the property and has direct routes to Leeds, Harrogate, Manchester and London. A number of connecting routes can also be found from these stations so getting to other locations around the UK could not be easier.
