Wheels and Waves Car Show

Every year, the Wheels and Waves Car Show is a popular draw for automobile lovers. Featuring vehicles from 1979 and older, this annual event includes an all-day show and shine and cruises on Highway 101 and through Downtown Seaside.

Seaside History Walking Tour

Join the Seaside Museum for their NEW program, Walking Tour with a Local. Guests will enjoy an easy, 1-hour, walking tour through downtown Seaside focused on the history of the area. Tickets are $10 each and each ticket holder will receive a $5.00 certificate to the Seaside Museum Store.
The tour will begin at the Big Orange Chair in front of the Visitor Center (7 North Roosevelt Dr.) and end at the Turnaround at the top of Broadway. Saturday Sept. 19th at 11:30 am.

“Seaside’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Riots 1964: Operation Seaside” With R.J. Marx

On Saturday, September 19th, 2026 the Seaside Public Library will welcome back R.J. Marx, who will be giving the final in a series of presentations titled, “Seaside’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Riots – 1964: Operation Seaside.”
Military on the streets and on rooftops. Young people swarming into Seaside. A national crisis brewing as cities everywhere felt the pressures of Civil Rights unrest and the Vietnam War. By 1964, Seaside was reeling from two years of Labor Day violence that Mayor Maurice Pysher characterized as a “Holy War” against “lawless, godless” youth. Authorities coordinated ”Operation Seaside,” a massive security plan involving 100 National Guardsmen and 44 state troopers, while moving the popular Pypo Club to a new location to isolate teenagers from the beach.
In “Seaside’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Riots 1962-1964, How a Coastal City’s Labor Day Riots Heralded a Decade of Unrest,” author R.J. Marx chronicles how the weekend’s events pitted over 1,000 youngsters against well-drilled forces utilizing modern tactics like undercover walkie-talkie surveillance and Polaroid cameras for booking arrests.

John Orr is a singer songwriter guitarist who has played music on the North Coast for 25 years. He currently performs in Young Bay Blues with harmonica virtuoso/songwriter Dave Gofreed. John recently completed his third original CD, titled "A Lot to Remember, A Lot to Forget.' John plays guitar, dobro, steel guitar and also performs with Red Beans a LaFey and the Chelsea Jazz Trio featuring Chelsea on vocals and Clarence Robinson on upright bass. His songwriting reflects his sardonic take on life and the often strange and wonderful world we inhabit.
John Orr has played at the Seaside Farmer's Market, the Astoria Sunday Market, the Ilwaco Cider Company, the North Beach Tavern in Long Beach, Washington, the Stormy Weather shows in Cannon Beach, the Summer Concert Series in Long Beach at Veterans Field and the Clatsop County Fair.
Harmonica specialist and vocalist Dave Gofreed of Red Bean Blues recently joined forces with John Orr to create this new blues duo. Dave was influenced by Charlie Sayles play in Washington DC as a young kid. Dave felt blues in his bones. He got his first gig when he was twenty two and then became a regular in the Blues club and recording scene of Baltimore in the late 90s.

Friends of Old Fort Stevens host the fourth annual Summer’s End Music Festival. There will be live music, beer, food and vendors. Headliner is That Arena Rock Show which plays 1970s and 1980s. rock music with other musicians, Coloso, Glitter and Gasoline, Freight Train Jaine, the Mike Skill Group and Kelly Stargazer. Admission $20 for adults, $10 for children 6-12; free for under 6. Parking additional $10 per vehicle or with a valid Oregon State Parks parking permit. It is free for people camping in the park.

Fort Stevens State Park
This park offers a rich historical experience with well-preserved military sites, including old batteries and cannons, and expansive beaches with impressive views. Also highlight the opportunity to see wildlife like elk and bald eagles, along with walking trails and a disc golf course. Guests mention the knowledgeable staff and the park's suitability for teaching children about history.
Fort Stevens was once the primary military defense installation in the three-fort, Harbor Defense System at the mouth of the Columbia River (Forts Canby and Columbia in Washington were the other two). The fort was in service for 84 years, beginning during the Civil War and closing at the end of World War II. Today, Fort Stevens has grown into a 4,200 acre park offering exploration of history, nature, and many recreational opportunities.
Camping, beach-combing, freshwater lake swimming, trails, wildlife viewing, a historic shipwreck, and a historic military fort make Fort Stevens a uniquely diverse park. The park also boasts a network of nine miles of paved bicycle trails and six miles of hiking trails that allow you to explore a variety of habitats.

The result captures the sonic intensity of the original recording, yet explores the musical space and pushes the envelope the same way Pink Floyd themselves would have.

DOG-O-RAMA is bringing the fun to Washington’s Evergreen Coast on September 18–20, 2026 (subject to change, rain or shine), and everyone’s invited. Whether you’re attending with your dog or simply love watching incredible pups in action, this three-day celebration is packed with energy, entertainment, and community. From competitive trials to playful activities and live music, DOG-O-RAMA is all about fun for the sake of having FUN. The weekend kicks off on Friday, September 18, with early event registration from 5:00–7:00 PM at Veterans Field Park, followed by a lively Pup Parade traveling from the Port of Ilwaco to Ilwaco Cider Company. The evening continues with live music at Ilwaco Cider Company, setting the tone for a high-spirited weekend ahead. On Saturday, September 19, events run from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, featuring a full day of action. AKC Performance and Obedience Trials take place from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alongside DiscDogathon events and Flyball demonstrations at Culbertson Park during the same time. From 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM, attendees can enjoy Canine Fun and Games, followed by Costume and Tricks Contests from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. The afternoon wraps up with an Awards Ceremony at 4:00 PM, and the evening shifts into celebration mode with a Bridgetown Get Down concert and the Rotary Club Biergarten opening at 5:00 PM. The weekend concludes on Sunday, September 20, starting with the FIDO Fit Dog Walk at 9:30 AM along the New Boardwalk and Discovery Trail.
