Lovely, well equipped apartment. Positive: The apartment was very spacious, clean, comfortable & well equipped. The underground parking was great. Beautiful views from the lounge windows & lovely decor. Just a 10 mins walk into the old town. Loved the coffee machine, hot shower & comfy bed. Overall a lovely apartment. Dog friendly. Negative: The heating was a problem. It was very cold on arrival & I had to spend over an hour ringing the call centre to get the heating put on remotely. It was fine when finally came on but the same thing happened on the second day. Thermostats were locked so we couldn't adjust it ourselves. The heating was ok on the last day. The staff were very helpful on the phone but it slightly spoilt an otherwise beautiful place. We didn't let it spoil our stay however, but needs sorting out.

Location perfect, easy walking distance to the centre but very quiet with fantastic views from every room. Private underground parking. Lift. Dog friendly. Light, bright and spacious. Very comfy beds. Kitchen had everything you needed. We would definitely come back and recommend to friends and family.

Great private location and property just a short walk to the town center. Loved that they were dog friendly. Included parking for one car which was perfect. It was quiet. Well appointed. Looked like the pictures. We had a lovely stay and would return when we need two bedrooms.

Amazing location with a brief walk into Whitby harbour itself but far enough that it was peaceful and the parking was a great addition. Amazing views and charming flat with nice bench seating and telescope. We had great views of the fireworks, harbour and the abbey and crabbing spot away from the crowds! The flat was spacious and decorated well with vast amounts of space for our family of 4.

We really enjoyed our stay at Starboard Bow. The views over the harbour with the town and the Abbey behind are great. The flat was plenty spacious enough for a family with two young children and had everything we needed and thankfully there was a lift to get up and down to the third floor. Dedicated parking spot and ten minutes walk to town, highly recommended.

Positive: Location. The apartment was comfortable and has great views. Negative: No washing machine which was frustrating for an 11 night stay. Cold in the bedroom….heating already preset or controlled remotely. Reported a problem with the bathroom lights on our first day. Was assured someone would contact us to arrange maintenance/fix but this did not happen. We could not use the main lights for the whole trip due to strobing and one light hanging from ceiling. The light above the bathroom mirror did not work either so we had to purchase replacement strip bulb ….this was the only light we had during the trip as the bathroom is internal and has no window.

Positive: Views were amazing. Location good, very close to pubs and restaurants but not close enough to hear any noise.Apartment was lovely and the bed was so comfy. Went on the steam train, recommend this trip it was great. The fish n chips were amazing and we found a lovely wee micro bar. Definitely go again. Bar is in the photos below

The location and views were perfect. Great to watch the wild life and the world go by. Positive: The location was exceptional, views were wonderful. Very relaxing. Negative: Cleaning, cobwebs in the windows and spiders. Bath room dated.

Great apartment and location. Access instructions need updating and crockery and glassware requires minor overhaul.

We travelled for a weekend away with our little Jack Russell, The apartment was lovely and we felt at home, quiet location great harbour views and only a little walk into the centre where the shops entertainment and eateries are. Absolutly great place, we will visit again.

Lovely place, great views and very comfy beds! Easy to walk to restaurants, bars and a perfect view of the Abbey! The only tiny thing we would say is the check in instructions said blue doors but they were actually grey, so that was a tiny bit confusing, but we easily figured it out with the other description! Overall really lovely and would recommend to friends and family. 💙

Exceeded our expectations - Perfect for our stay - Lovely Flat with Amazing Views Positive: Great place to stay! Location and facilities, along with parking were perfect. Quiet and secure area, but close to centre and shops without having to walk up or down the very hilly areas. There was access from the locked parking area into the building with a lift to the 3rd floor. The lovely flat was very spacious, beds were comfy and we had everything we needed in the kitchen and throughout . The views were amazing! The hosts were attentive throughout the booking and beyond without being intrusive, yet available if you required them. It was an easy check-in and check-out process. I would definitely recommend. We enjoyed Whitby and the apartment was in an excellent spot. The cleanliness let it down. Negative: The cleanliness of the apartment was very disappointing. We had to wash cups, glasses etc before we could use them. The kitchen and bathroom were not clean and the apartment overall was dusty and not hoovered. Bathroom bin had blood soiled tissues and hair in it.

The apartment was beautifully furnished and in an excellent location. The views from every window are stunning. We had a wonderful stay, thank you!

This is a lovely well appointed apartment in easy walking distance of the town centre. The views are amazing from the apartment. The two bedrooms are of a very good size and very comfortable. The apartment was clean and tidy.

Perfect for our short break Positive: The apartment is very spacious two large double bedrooms and large living room. I loved the modern decor, parking for one car and lift. The location was perfect for me away from the busy main streets but only a 10 minute walk to all the shops and restaurants. Amazing views of whitby and a peaceful river view. The beds were very comfortable. I loved the stay and felt at home would definitely stay again. Negative: Too many messages from the rental service. I felt hounded by adverts for private chef and extra nights. All the information could have been given in one message but repeated messages and reminders about check out time were too interfering. No tea towel in the kitchen was a bit inconvenient and could have done with extra keys for our party. It was a little bit dusty in places could do with a spring clean however overall cleanliness was good.

Really nice comfortable apartment. 15mins walk into whitby which isnt too far for us. Have stayed in the apartment block next door a few years ago so knew the location already. Beautiful view of the harbour and abbey out the windows.

Perfect location with off road secure parking. Positive: Location was perfect and quiet. 10 minutes walk to the bus/train station, 5 minutes to the shops/ Abbey steps. Secure off street parking was an unexpected bonus. The views from the apartment were amazing from every window, overlooking the harbour and an excellent view of the Abbey. Negative: Difficult to find anything we didn’t like. If any constructive criticism is required we would just say the towel rail was a bit loose in the bathroom.

Great comfortable apartment with everything you need, lovely views of Whitby and secure parking. Positive: Excellent location for exploring Whitby, able to walk into the town centre, the old town and the abbey, or continue on coast paths. The railway station is on the opposite side of the river, where travel is possible on the scenic North Yorkshire Moors railway as well as the national network. The views from the apartment are wonderful, looking along the river to the abbey,harbour and town, or across to the station. A secure car parking space in provided. Negative: Having to leave ! It would have been handy to have some milk left ready, but not a big problem - the nearest small general store is 10 minutes walk away, back up onto the main road.

Worth every penny. Positive: We liked nearly everything about the apartment, not least the views. Negative: The bedrooms were rather cold, and it was not possible to adjust the heaters.

We had a great stay, flat was in the perfect location for being so close to the centre. Everywhere was walkable, very modern feel inside. Would 100% recommend and stay again.

It’s was ok Positive: The view was amazing, nicely laid out apartment plus it had underground parking which is a bonus in Whitby. Negative: I was disappointed that on our arrival the apartment was freezing cold & we could not turn up the temperature manually. We found utensils with dried food on them, nail clippings on the carpet in the bedroom, hair all over the front room carpet, 1 toilet roll, no salt & pepper or even a kitchen roll. Not even a welcome pack considering what we paid for the 3 nights. This is the reason for our scores. You’re basically paying for the views as I feel the apartment could do with a proper clean.

The worst air bnb experience I've ever had.Had to leave early at 7.15am as it was freezing cold and couldn't sleep. Instructions on heating are wrong, you can't put the heating on as its on a timer, and the timer is firmly behind a huge padlock. Just charge more rather than make guests stay miserable, when complained got answers that just repeated incorrect instructions. Also the doors to the property are a putty colour not blue. Avoid this property during colder months, unless you enjoy camping, but bring your thermals. Bathroom and kitchen need a serious upgrade as well, bedrooms nice but style over substance. A shame as view and location good just couldn't physically stand the cold brrrr. I won't be back only did 1 night.

Great place to stay and enjoy Whitby. The view was spectacular, with the windows overlooking the harbour and a clear shot of the Abbey. Walk into the town centre was about 10-25 min walk to town centre. Spacious and clean apartment with comfy beds and very responsive hosts. We would stay here again.

Fantastic views. Positive: The apartment was decorated and furnished to a good standard..all furniture and beds were comfortable and the view was amazing! Great location...just 10 minute walk into the centre of Whitby. Negative: One of the oven trays wasn't clean, but not a massive issue.

always look forward to staying here, and visiting Whitby, its the perfect location. Positive: the location is perfect for us, just a short walk from the town centre, private parking was also available which meant we didnt have to use the car for the whole time that we were there. Negative: There was nothing that did not meet our expectations. This is either the 3rd or 4th time that we have stayed here and love it every time.

We had a great stay at the apartment within walking distance of the attractions of Whitby. The apartment was exactly as the photos. The views were great, the grounds were equipped with benches giving us the opportunity to sit outdoors . Great place in a great location

The location of the apartment is beautiful and just a short walk away from the central area of Whitby. The beds are very comfortable with amazing views of the abbey and surrounding areas. The host was very communicative and friendly. Perfect for those travelling by car as there is a private parking space.

We booked this apartment the day before we travelled and the communication from Dale and Charlie was brilliant with great instructions etc. Great apartment which is located in a lovely quiet area and within easy walking distance of Whitby’s shops, restaurants and attractions. It comes with a safe, secure parking which is a bonus. The apartment is well-equipped and the decor is really well done. It has the bonus of fabulous views of Whitby harbour and Whitby Abbey with a nice walk along the river estuary. As others have mentioned would have liked a bit of control over the heating as it comes on at set times and temperature that can’t be changed. This said the apartment was never over cold when it was a bit fresh outside. A great short stay and would definitely stay again.

Great as always 👌 Positive: Stayed here lots of times and suits our needs. Like home from home, location great, parking great, apartment great, we liked the new decor and was a nice surprise when we walked in. Will continue to use the apartment as long as it's available. Negative: The apartment was not as clean as it normally is, quite a few high level cobwebs, bitty on all floors, mark on one of the pillow cases and some verdigris in toilet. I'm not complaining as normally standards are greater than this, and may have just been an off day for the cleaning team. We generally are not in the apartment for 12-14 hours a day so it's all good.

Beautiful apartment in an excellent location. Very clean and tidy. There were a couple of negatives however. Given the price paid and the £50 cleaning fee (which I think is massively excessive) you would expect full access to the whole apartment, however, there appears to be a second bedroom behind a locked door which would have been very useful during our stay and should easily be covered by the cleaning fee. A compulsory £20 indemnity insurance also leaves a sour taste.

Ok. Everything that others have put about location veiws, everything needed for a great few nights in Whitby including a secure ample car parking space. First class. I saw that others had mentioned the heating problems so I ask about it before travelling, only to be fobbed off. We got there at 4:30 as arranged. It was easy to get the living cosy but because of the short length of time the hall and bedroom electric heaters were set up to be on , these spaces were flipping cold. The towel rail in the bathroom was either off or scalding hot. The instructions regarding 2 large thermostats is out of date ( there are none). I've only put this moan regarding the heating as I was ignored when I brought it to the agents attention. It truly is a fabulous place. Thanks very much.

Ideal location for exploring Whitby Positive: The apartment is located in a quiet area within easy walking distance of Whitby’s shops, restaurants and attractions. It comes with safe, secure parking which is a bonus. The kitchen is well-equipped and the bed is comfortable. Another bonus is the fabulous views of Whitby harbour and Whitby Abbey. Negative: The apartment was cold and we were unable to adjust the heating as the radiator controls were locked. I complained about this and was told the matter would be ‘escalated’ and dealt with but nothing was done. The bedroom was particularly cold and the radiator never seemed to come on. We were very disappointed that this issue was not dealt with during our stay. The bathroom (also cold but had heated towel rail) needs updating. Also, we only had 1 hand towel and 2 bath towels which is not really enough for a week’s stay.

Entirely satisfactory. Slightly annoyed that we were required to pay a £250 damage deposit less a £10 admin fee a week before our visit.

Positive: Lovely flat clean and comfortable with beautiful views. Ten to fifteen minutes walk to the center of town. Car parking in private car park under the property. Has everything you need inside the flat. I would stay again. Negative: The 20 pounds service charge on top!

Great stay fantastic views, short walk to Whitby town. Brilliant location views to die for! Well thought out lift was a god send. Only issue was heating very cold at night sat with hats on! not able to control it ! Had a lovely memorable stay❤️

We had a very enjoyable stay in this property which is cosy and well located. It isn’t quite perfect, slight negatives being, a feeble shower; heating which is only just adequate and may really struggle if there are strong north easterly winds; and a blind in the bedroom which lets in too much light. However, these didn’t spoil our stay as the views are wonderful and the apartment is well equipped and very clean. We would stay there again despite the irritation caused by Host & Stay insisting that we either paid £25 for accidental damage cover or leave a £250 deposit which incurs a £10 ‘admin charge’. AirBNB have a damage reimbursement procedure so this policy just feels like a way for the management company to squeeze a little more out of guests. Their staff were, however, very polite and attentive.

Very nice modern apartment in a good and convenient location for all amenities. The apartment is situated on the third floor with dual aspect views of the estuary and you also get a lovely view of the Abbey. There is an allocated private secure parking bay on the ground floor, which is included with the property and is a real advantage in Whitby… The apartment was clean and comfortable and had everything required for your stay. We also found the bed was super comfortable and ensured a good night’s sleep.. The only negative was the electric heating which struggled to keep the apartment at a comfortable temperature and was especially hostile on arrival and first thing in the morning. The radiators were locked at set temperatures and times so unable to adjust, however the electric fire/fan heater compensated! This wouldn’t be a problem in the summer months and definitely wouldn’t deter us from returning to the property. Overall we had a lovely stay at Starboard Bow and highly recommend!
