This is a great location surrounded by many locally owned businesses and shops. Anything you could want or need is only a short walk away. The location itself was exactly what we needed. Jawahir and his team were incredibly helpful and kind, and when we had an issue they were immediately able to help us out. If you're looking for a nice, quiet location a little outside of downtown Toronto, this is the spot for you.
Clean and convenient apartment!
Jawahir and Ryan made us feel right at home and even accommodated early check in for us!! The space is private and comfortable and very close to subway/streetcar lines leaving the city at your fingertips! Would definitely recommend staying here whether it be for a week or just a night, perfect spot for a small group!!

The space was just what we needed for a few days in Toronto. The rooms were clean and the space was well maintained overall. The beds are very comfortable and the apartment stayed mostly quiet. It's a residential building so you may occasionally hear other tenants walk past, though it was nothing out of the ordinary. There are a good number of stairs to ascend and descend in order to access the room, but it's manageable just fine. Parking needs to be paid for, but it's an incredibly reasonable amount for the time, and the lot across the street was a great place to leave the car. Fantastic shops, markets, and restaurants all within steps of the location, and a short drive to other areas of interest. Jawahir and their crew were SO fast in responding to any questions and really made the experience a smooth one.

great host, good location, a bit difficult to access the apartment. Positive: The location is good and the hosts communicated very well. The apartment itself is very spacious. The rent is also good value for money. Negative: The apartment is not very accessible. You have to really do a workout to reach the apartment and if you have luggage, this is very very difficult. The rear entrance is more accessible but is full of garbage. The showers are quite small. And this is a matter of personal preference, but the bed had a spring mattress.

The hosts were very kind and welcoming. They were very responsive and assisted us with whatever we needed. We celebrated one of our friend’s birthday and they gave her a birthday present which was very nice!

We loved our stay here. It was very quiet even in a busy part of the city. There are lots of great shops and restaurants on Gerrard, and parking is simple and inexpensive. The place worked out perfectly for us with two bedrooms on opposite sides of the unit so we felt like we had our own space to retreat to, as did our son. Hosts Jawahir and Ryan were very accommodating and checked in to see if we needed anything. The apartment had everything we needed during our stay to feel at home.

Good stay - place is exactly as described and is conveniently located near restaurants and concert venues. I would recommend reading the instructions to find the unit once you enter the building (as you have to go up and down a couple flights of stairs).
The rooms are very small and the bathrooms are tiny. There are 2 flights of very steep stairs to get to the apartment which was extremely difficult with my 91 year old father who was traveling with us for a family event. I mentioned this when we confirmed the reservations, I would not had chosen this place had I known about the steep stairs and very tight accommodations. The couch is not comfortable to sit on and nothing about the place was cozy or inviting. Also, there were no hangers in the closet, perhaps because the room was so small you could barely open the closet door as it hit the bed. In fairness it was clean and the host was responsive. The wash machine was broken, thankfully we didn’t need to wash but it was on the list of amenities and had we been there a few more days that would have been a problem. Unfortunately this was not a comfortable space for 3 adults. I Airbnb often, this was a disappointment. Note to self, ask more questions. Also, Toronto is a lovely city
The location and apartment is great! Just around 20 mins away from downtown, which is convenient for attending concerts. There are local restaurants around the area and No Frills grocery store. The host is very responsive whenever we have questions. I just didn’t expect there would be lots of stairs involved when getting inside the apartment, which did make us struggle witj carrying luggages. The apartment looked exactly like the description and the beddings and bathroom are clean, which we appreciated a lot. The only issue we had were the floors as they were a bit dirty and dusty that we had to wear shoes inside as we had no indoor slippers to use.
we used the place just for overnight sleep & shower so we were overall satisfied; great location close to all amenities & transportation: host provided good responses & was quite polite / communicative; the entryway corridor needs a good cleaning & proper maintenance; one of the shower's has a leaking showethead it didn't prevent us taking a shower.
Jawahir’s place was great for the night! We were able to find Jawahirs place due to his great instructions but otherwise it would have been quite difficult to locate. Host was responsiveness and proactive. Thanks for hosting our stay!

Upon entry from the street you are greeted by a filthy common staircase 25 feet high then after passing through a couple of doors, you have to go back down again. Tenants leave their belongings in the hall and it’s a mess. Shower head in one of the bathrooms was broken and one of the bedroom doors did not stay closed. The worse part about our stay was the tenant above the front bedroom. They were stomping on the floor all night and started again very early in the morning. They continually flushed the toilet and making matters worse, there is no sound insulation in the ceiling. The main sewer runs right above the head board. It was very unpleasant to say the least. I would not stay at this Airbnb again. If you have bad legs or knees or if you are elderly, avoid this place at all costs.

Nice experience Positive: It is a big and clean apartment. Very comfortable. Also, it has a good location near stores and bars. It's not close to the downtown, but it's very well-connected by bus. Negative: It was not a problem for me, but it's important to consider that you need to use a stair for access. So, it's not comfortable for persons with disabilities.
Rented this place for a couple of employees who were working at a job site all week, with long hours. Host was extremely communicative to make sure everything was all good. Place was perfect for what we were looking for. Only recommendation is to have the washing machine fixed for future guests. It was out of service for our guys to use. Would stay at this place again!

Positive: Clean inside (the outdoor access was very dirty). Negative: The back entrance was not accessible when I arrived due to massive amounts of dumping and garbage. This was a problem since the access for this unit is really only accessed from the back with suitcases otherwise you need to go up two flights of stairs, through a door, then down another flight of stairs. The outside space needs to be maintained so at least it’s accessible. I did not like the property management. One day I was out and it had left all my belongings in the unit because I had no reason to worry (I thought) and I got a call saying that there was a leak and that maintenance needed to come and did they have my permission. I said not now can they come when I am home later on. I had valuables in the unit and there was no safe to protect them. They said that would not work and again asked me if they had my consent to go inside. I said no. Then they decided to say it was an emergency and they were going to go in anyway. Again, I said no. They said they were going in anyway, so I raced back from where I was and managed to meet maintenance as they were arriving. Apparently the unit below had said the day BEFORE there was a leak. It was not currently happening, there was NO emergency. Maintenance also said it couldn’t have come from my unit. The whole thing rubbed me entirely the wrong way.

Jawahirs place has everything you need to stay a few nights with a few people. The check in is a little tough with the garbage cans being in the way and smelling absolutely horrible as you go through the back entrance, but the check in is easy otherwise. Laundry being in the unit is a nice touch. The bathrooms are extremely tiny and it’s hard to even sit on the toilet if you have longer legs One of the bedrooms lacked proper curtains for the balcony door so quite a bit of light shined in very early in the morning. that same bedroom is located right above a play area for what I believe to be a daycare playground, so you will be woken up by children yelling and screaming around 7am, despite having the windows closed. So the second bedroom is a bit rough, but everything else is good and if you just need a spot to rest your head for a few nights, it’s worth the price

The apt located just off Gerrard St was a great spot to stay for our daughters' beach volleyball weekend. The unit was clean & had most amenities needed for a comfortable stay, close to all types s of restaurants, especially east indian cuisine. I rated it 4/5 for 2 reasons that I thought would have been addressed from response to previous comments: 1) While there are 2 bathrooms, they are very small & need a high shelf & a few hooks for hanging clothes and placing a toiletry bag. 2) There at least 6 large garbage containers in the way of the only entrance & exit to the unit. This was very difficult to get in & out of the unit carrying luggage. A new spot needs to ne found to make this a 5 star worth the cost. Overall, both families had a great Dad & daughter weekend a few quick updates would make it worth the cost. Kitchen pots & cutlery is limited, but we fixed the bent pairing knife & left a chef's knife behind for future renters. Thanks for being a great host!

Stay was fine. There were garbage bins lining the walkways to the building door that made carrying luggage to the door difficult and straining (also generally smelly and unpleasant). Also the front door is not easy to open. It took a lot of alternating efforts between my friends and I to get it to work and we weren’t warned about that beforehand. Outside of those things - the stay was decent. Generally cleans and in pretty good condition.

Small apartment, dysfunctional at times, trash alley Negative: Property condition was poor in a number of ways: A) To enter the unit you must walk through a narrow alleyway lined with trash cans. B) Inside of the apartment items were cheap or broken (1 shower was leaking so we only used 1 of 2 showers). Bed and pillows were uncomfortable. Uneven floors with nails. Bathroom vent was open revealing the ceiling pipes. C) front door itself had a locking issue. D) we communicated these issues to management with documentation as to not be charged. We asked that they respect our privacy and do not send people to fix it while we were there (we had a short trip). There was miscommunication between the management and the building. We returned back to unexpectedly find strangers working on our apartment door. While management was communicative I do not recommend staying here. We felt this unit was not worth $400CAD a night
The good things were its proximity to the people we were visiting and its having two bathrooms. One bathroom shower was unusable, unfortunately. Although we didn't feel unsafe, there were several problems with this apt: -apt was not clean upon arrival -the balcony was unusable -the lamp in the bedroom was unusable - nails sticking up from the floor in the bedroom -electric cable running like a trip wire across the bedroom entrance -unopenable closet in 2nd bedroom. no space for end table oneither side -loud daycare noise from immediately below -perishable foods left in the cupboard -incredibly stiff and hard-to-open doors -outside was often left unlocked (not by us) -passage to outdoor entrance was obstructed by at least 6 waste bins. -several contacts to upsell services to us
The pictures are accurate to the Airbnb. The place is very clean. Entry into the Airbnb is not nice. A row of six garbage cans block the entrance and isn’t inviting. Bathrooms are very small and difficult to move in. Hooks behind the bedroom doors and bathroom doors would be handy so clothes don’t need to go on the floor. More face cloths are needed.
It was just a short stay for us, but it was perfect for what we needed! Clean and tidy, spacious for two, great location for anyone attending an event at HISTORY—not a far walk. Parking was a little troublesome to find, but by no fault of the host, that’s just how it is, but worth looking into beforehand for any future guest staying there.

This apt was really great for the location, neighbourhood restaurants, and convenient transportation (including a bike share station). There’s a preschool downstairs with the outdoor play area right below the back bdrm window - if you’re not an early riser this may bother you. I wear ear plugs at night and I was still woken up by crying toddlers. The kitchen had lots of utensils and dishes but very few glasses (one tall glass for a two bdrm apt?). Accessing the entrance was a bit of a hassle at midnight when we arrived from the airport - the pathway to the door, which had a huge bag of garbage spilling onto it (for the whole 5 days we were there), is off an alleyway which is off a side street - not the address as it’s listed - just a bit off-putting in the middle of the night. And the couch in the living room is maybe the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever sat on. You can literally see and feel the big lumps from the broken springs inside. We won’t stay here again, unfortunately.
Unfortunately this stay didn't work for us - uncomfortable beds (one bed had the mattress and the other the box spring), pigeons roosting on the deck and pooh everywhere, and a host of otherthings. The host was responsive but unremediated during our stay. The housekeeper was excellent.
Joseph’s unit was booked last minute and featured keyless entry, which was convenient. Joseph was very responsive and the unit features full size toiletries, coffee, tea, and laundry detergent. The location was not the best part of town and did not have a lot around the area, however, the local transit was just a short walk away, which made it easily accessible to the city. The two bedrooms were tiny, and didn’t give much space to walk around the bedrooms. Both beds were uncomfortable and lumpy, because the springs sticked up in different areas, and the same can be said about the couch. The two bathrooms were also tiny, and the showers should have been cleaned better, because there was visible mildew or brownish stains in the caulk. The host was great, the unit just needed to be cleaned better. Also the sheets had lint stuck all over it, making it feel nasty. Luckily, there were plenty of extra sheets available. Overall, I wouldn’t book this unit again.
It was a last minute booking, but Joseph Samuel was able to accommodate us. We enjoyed our stay and the location is near public transport and in a walkable neighborhood which was great.
Positive: The price was good for the area Negative: The beds were terribly uncomfortable. The bathrooms were way too tiny. Would have been better to have 1 decent sized bathroom than squeezing in to the toilet. Waking up to pigeons in the room off the bedroom was weird.
