We loved the place so much we want to come back every year! An ideal home to host a group of friends or a big family. Lots of space for everyone to gather comfortably or to get away. Location is great! A brewery and lovely trail down the road for the nature lovers. For the loungers, hanging by the pool and hot tub is a perfect day!
This is definitely a 5-star experience staying at this Westkill Home! The accomodations were very clean, kitchen well stocked, the view gorgeous and the pool/hot tub a really fun experience and added to the relaxation. If you want a nice splurge for a group or large family this is it (we went in September while the weather was still warm but the not blazing hot). We loved the outdoor fire pit, lounge chairs and outdoor eating area. We also enjoyed the beautiful bedrooms, unique arcitecture and the bathrobes :). We had lunch at Phoenicia Diner and a beer at Westkill Brewing. Everything in the home was user friendly and we had no hiccups. Management team customer friendly and responsive. Hope to come back!
Overall, the home is delightful & the host was responsive, ensuring a pleasant stay for me & my friends. However, some areas need improvement. The home is secluded, which may be a consideration for guests to be aware of before booking. Also, there is no covering for the large windows at the entrance/back doors. No window coverings raised security/privacy concerns. If a car passes by while the lights are on inside, the main living area becomes visible from the outside. To enhance the overall experience, they should consider adding blinds, to allow guests to darken windows for enhanced security. Another concern was the 2 windows w/ broken locks in the kitchen & front facing the lower level bedroom. Despite prompt comms w/ the property team, there was no resolution, leaving us feeling uneasy during our stay. We also were never provided a physical key to the home. Given the property's newer listing status, I hope they work on these notes to allow for a more secure + enjoyable stay! :)
This is a beautiful property - the location is phenomenal and the house has been built with a lot of love and care - it's filled with tasteful furniture and perfect for a group of 8-10 people. We went after a recent snowfall and the view was gorgeous. Only thing to note is that we didn't get great cell phone coverage (could be our carrier's issue) at the property so something to bear in mind.
Cozy, spacious home with beautiful surroundings -the mountains and woods and visitors (deer) make it so peaceful. We enjoyed the pool, firepit and eating outdoors on the patio and local breweries and diner. The home is fully stocked with cooking items and service ware and the beds are comfy. The 3 and half baths came in handy for our large group. We ran into two issues -freezer malfunction and oven vent not working- which was addressed as best as could be expected in the short time frame. Someone was sent out for both issues. One definitely needs a car here as nearest grocery store (Hannaford's) is at least 20-30 minutes away. We enjoyed this vacation and would definitely consider staying here again.
This is truly an incredible place in the Catskill mountains. We were a group of 10 and had plenty of space. We particularly enjoyed the surroundings and the large property with plenty of space for outdoor activities. The host was very responsive and helpful. Thanks for everything!
Gorgeous house! The perfect getaway for our small family. Plenty of space, beautiful pool, and lovely charm all around.
This house is amazing -- exactly as pictured; all rooms beautifully appointed, especially the kitchen and master bedroom and all very family-friendly. The most significant negative was that the central air conditioning wasn't working upon check-in and wasn't repaired until the 5th day of our 7-night stay which was a very hot week. Lots of texting and phone calls required to resolve. In addition, the presence of contractors and repair persons in and out of the house during our stay impacted our overall enjoyment of the facilities. Red Cottage did provide minimal compensation to offset.

This is, without question, the single most impressive AirBNB I've ever stayed in. It's rare for a property to exceed the photos, but that's the case here. The quality of the home is excellent, from little details like heated bathroom floors to the bigger details like the Viking kitchen with two (two!) fridges to the sound-proofed walls in the bathroom. The host is very responsive, very quick to answer on the chat. Guests should know that there is no AC in this AirBNB and given how large the windows are, I wonder how warm it gets. For us, in the winter, it was bit chilly but there is a great fireplace and space heater everywhere. The doors in the great room are beautiful but they aren't air-tight -- quite loose, in fact -- so cold air enters with ease.
I had an amazing stay at this beautiful house! The surroundings were breathtaking, and its proximity to the ski resort made it a perfect choice. The host was exceptionally accommodating and made the entire experience seamless. Highly recommend!
This house is gorgeous and unique! The finishes are high-end and spacious, some hidden gems were perfect for time alone if needed. We enjoyed the beautiful pool/hot tub and hikes throughout the expansive acreage daily. The kids enjoyed downtime from the pool playing video games and watching movies in the downstairs family room while the adults had a great time watching the World Cup games in the multi-story upstairs family room with floor to ceiling windows or playing games after dinner in the lovely and well-stocked kitchen while also taking in the amazing Mountain View’s! Some family time was spent hanging out around the fire pit just beyond the pool, hiking local trails, or visiting and feeding the alpacas, mini donkeys, chickens, goats and sheep at the OG Farm, just a stones throw away. We couldn’t have asked for a better place for our family vacation!
We were eight on our annual upstate NY trip, and thoroughly loved our time at Red Cottage. The location, while quite far from restaurants/towns, is serenely quiet and peaceful. The bedrooms and bathrooms are generously sized, with shockingly high quality linens (the pillows were a highlight). The kitchen was well equipped to cook for our large group, and the grill outside was put to great use. I cannot overstate how stunning the view into the backyard was - sky, mountain, grassy valley - we often just sat in the living room taking in the environs. The fire pit is also in the perfect location to take in the valley and see the stars on a clear night. I’d wholeheartedly come back, and recommend Red Cottage to anyone looking for peace, quiet, and nature.
We had an amazing weekend at this house! It’s absolutely perfect for large groups. The host responds very quickly and is always ready to help with anything. The house is beautifully designed and has everything you could possibly need. The property is huge and beautiful. There were so many games and activities, and everyone had their own room with a bathroom, which made the stay even more comfortable. We truly recommend this place for big groups and would gladly come back again!
Stunning house in a very peaceful location. The heart of the house (in the cooler months) is the open fireplace, and the open floor plan makes it easy for kids and adults to all hang out yet have their own space. A great selection of amenities (well equipped kitchen, games, EV charger) and things to do in the area (diamond falls hike & West Kill Brewery are both just up the road). Will try to book this house again in the summer when the pool is open!

Our stay at the chalet was absolutely wonderful! The space was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The views were stunning, and we loved sitting by the fireplace in the evenings. The hosts were friendly, responsive, and helped us when we had a few hiccups in the space. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat!
