If you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful and remote location to get away from the city for a few days, this is a great location. The property is 25 mins from nearby town of Accord and 35 mins from Woodstock. Plenty of close hiking trails as well. The house itself is very comfortable and has a well stocked kitchen in case you intend to cook. The WiFi is solid in case you want to work remotely / watch TV too. Cell service can be patchy within 10 mins from the house, so plan accordingly.

We had a great time in this secluded upstate gem! Exactly as pictured and equipped with everything you need for a great weekend away. Easy drive to restaurants and hikes. Would definitely stay again. Surrounding area doesn’t get cell service so be sure to screen shot lockbox code and Wifi password ahead of time.

We stayed at this property for our weekend upstate as we attended the Woodist festival.The house is in the woods and is very secluded. You definitely feel in nature with the large windows even when sitting inside. We loved the indoor wood burning stove and the outdoor fire pit and wished we had more time to use both.

We really enjoyed our time here. The property is very private and surrounded by wildlife: deer, birds, wild turkeys and the big windows are great for watching it all go by. Very comfortable beds and loved the split shower/sauna. Perfect for what we needed. Thanks !

Spent a lovely long weekend with my boyfriend at this lovely place. It’s very private, no neighbors around. And the house itself is gorgeous, exactly like pictured. Amazing kitchen and bathroom, cozy living room and comfy bedroom. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to wind down and relax, you won’t go wrong with this one, highly recommend. The host was super helpful and quick with responses. We had a blast and would gladly visit again.

It was a second time we stayed in the Red Cottage and we loved it again! Very beautiful house in a very nice area. We would definitely recommend it and would come back in the future!

Great location in upstate NY, but we had several issues. The shower wasn’t cleaned on arrival (hair in the drain stain on tile) had to clean it myself without cloves, lights also went out in living area during our stay. We also had trouble finding the utensils that were in a hidden drawer. When we message host he did not know where they were we had to drive to Walmart. They told us where they were the next day. Most concerning, someone drove to the property without notice. I am female I was alone at the time and this felt unsafe and I called the police out of precaution. Host was very responsive but being aware about where utensils are would be great since the sign is fading. Better cleanliness of bathroom, better organized drawers, and removing stain on bedding would improve the experience. There was also animal feces in the outdoor areas even on the side door deck.

We had a great stay at this cozy, beautiful home. The space was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully put together. it really felt welcoming from the moment we arrived. Everything we needed was available, and the atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy the trip. The host was responsive and helpful throughout the stay. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and peaceful getaway!

Beautiful property that treated us extremely well! Aesthetically the property is beautiful standing alone on a great piece of property. We were pleasantly surprised with how quiet and peaceful the entire surrounding area was. The home itself caters to a nice staycation with a beautiful kitchen and living area. The beds are comfortable and the shower/sauna is a 10 star set up. Loved our stay, would go back in a heartbeat.

The home matches the listing very well, and overall we enjoyed our stay for a quiet weekend getaway. However, there were a few issues when we first arrived - from the shelf in the closet completely falling out of the wall to the glass doors not locking, to the glass door in the bedroom having a large crack and also being completely off its hinge. We contacted Red Cottage right away and they were very attentive even so late at night. All issues were not fixed during our stay, but it was nice that our main concern was addressed. The sauna was very inviting and easy to use. The surrounding area is very peaceful and a change in pace from our normal fast-paced living, and I definitely recommend going into New Paltz and visiting the restaurants/shops and even nearby orchards. I also do agree with needing to screenshot the check-in instructions before heading there, you do lose service. It's also very very dark at night, so drive carefully if you're not used to the country winding roads.

Beautiful space in quiet surroundings. Loved the sauna (make sure you turn it on about 1 hour before you want to jump in, in order to allow it to really heat up). Appreciated the plentiful cookware, utensils, nespresso machine, towels. Elegant and serene design that looks exactly like the pictures. Thank you for a nice stay.

We had a great stay with Red Cottage! The space was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our trip. The location was extremely private, and the host was responsive and helpful throughout our stay. However, there were a few minor things that could be improved. Some of the cookware was stained, which made us hesitant to use it, and the door seal for the door facing the front of the home kept falling off, which made us question its integrity and function. There was also a crack in the glass door in one of the bedrooms which let in a cold draft. Additionally, the remote control holders were not screwed in properly, which was a small inconvenience. Despite these minor issues and inconveniences, we still enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place for its overall comfort, value and amenities!

We had a fantastic stay at Trail’s End! The place was beautifully designed, super clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The surroundings were extremely peaceful with trees all around. We hope to visit again very soon.
