We had a fantastic stay at this Mt. Hood VRBO last week. The room was clean, warm, and spacious. Our kids loved the bunk beds, and the kitchen was stocked well enough that making dinner and breakfast was easy.Being on the top floor meant a fun view — though the 50 stairs definitely gave us a daily workout . There was a bit of road noise from ski buses making their rounds, but it wasn’t disruptive. The geothermal heated pool was a major highlight. It felt like a perfectly lukewarm hot tub — warm enough that we swam for over an hour while it was snowing, which was such a memorable experience. The game room was another standout. We brought wood and marshmallows and enjoyed a cozy evening playing pool, warming up by the fire, and roasting s’mores after our swim. We even had the whole room to ourselves, which made it extra relaxing. The on-site laundry room was also a big plus — it was great to be able to dry our wet clothes. The location was excellent — very close to the ski resorts, which made getting on the mountain super convenient. It was definitely a bit pricey (400/night), but that’s to be expected during peak ski season. Overall, a wonderful stay.
Great location, fit all 5 of us easily. Was very comfortable. Was worried about the stairs and they were just fine. Nice recreation center with a big fire and pool table and perfect for the kids to hang out. The bed was really comfortable, loved the soft comforter sbd plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The big coach was perfect to kick back and watch movies with the family. It was a nice location to celebrate our son’s birthday.
We had a wonderful stay at Cascadia Getaways condo! We were close to town, slopes, mt hood brewery and ski bowl. We loved the pool which was nearly a hot tub warm! But large enough the kids could dive and swim. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were clean and I appreciated the board games they had available. The game room downstairs amd laundry were an extra perk. All together a great stay.
We had a wonderful time staying here! Perfect for our family and so close for skiing and snowboarding! Lots of yummy places close by too.
Lots of towels, pillows and blankets which is always a plus with kids. The couch fit all of us perfectly to curl up together and watch something after we snowboarded all day.
We absolutely loved the pool! The water was perfectly warm and was a really neat experience. I suggest bringing a robe from home with you because the air is pretty cold after getting out.
Definitely will come back. Thank you for everything.
Convenient for our family of 5 skiing at Timberline. Bunk beds and couch are great for smaller kids. Our 6 year old was comfortable on the couch. NO ELEVATOR. Listing mentions top floor, but just keep in mind that's a lot of stairs for your luggage and gear especially if skiing... Also, the baseboard heaters are a little confusing. Clockwise to increase the heat, but there's a delay before anything changes. Heat is pretty intense if you're on the side of the bed close to the heater.
Great location and space for a holiday with my family of 4. The owners were extremely responsive with a few questions before and during our stay. Plenty of space and comfortable. We enjoyed the time and would definitely stay again.
Quick family getaway
The condo was just perfect for a quick family get together.
Great spot! Perfect place to stay not too far from the city and the ski resort.
Our trip and stay here was for 2 weeks - my son was mogul ski training with his team on Mount Hood. Whilst the accommodation may be a little tired, it was very clean and comfortable. Beds and pillows were very comfy. Kitchen and stove were a great benefit as were the free washing machines and dryers downstairs. Everything was in easy walking distance, there was a bus stop literally 400 yards down the street for the Mount Hood Express that took you into Sandy for $2. We did not hire a car and Cascadia Getaway made sure we had somewhere to store our luggage when we arrived (Ski bags, road bike box, suitcases etc) so we could relax in Government Camp until check in time. It is an older building (old ski lodge) so you may at times hear your neighbors in the mornings. It's a perfect location, very clean and comfortable. Very impressed with the level of customer service from Cascadia Getaways, we will be returning next year for the next ski training camp!
Perfect location if skiing Meadows.
Apartment is very well equipped and super clean.
Parking on street super easy.
Govvy is a very basic town with mediocre food. But is the closest town to Meadows.
We absolutely loved our ski vacation! Very nice and clean, excellent location. Kids loved heated swimming pool after skiing! Highly recommend!
Great place!- easy to get to skiing and the village. Nice game room ( a bit dated) nice pool- could be warmer for winter. The stairs were a lot to go up and down for loading and unloading. Surprised there wasn’t an elevator. Very responsive- stocked well, nice inside. Easy parking. I would stay again!
Cozy Thunderbird Lodge
We had a pleasant 1 night stay in our suite at Thunderbird Lodge. The accommodations were as described. Large spacious 1 bedroom. Building has definite ski lodge vibes when you enter, especially the games room. Had the large heated pool to ourselves all evening. The unit itself is in need of some TLC, but everything is in good working order. I would recommend choosing one of the lower units as the walk to the 3rd floor with everyone’s luggage and groceries was a bit of work. Also bring your own coffee filter if you want to make your own coffee. Coffee is abundant but I didn’t want to attempt to use a paper towel to filter it.
The heated pool made up for the thin walls and no central air cooling. The bed was comfortable and it was a perfect launching point for our summer ski camp at Mt Hood.
Great place to stay! Very simple check out procedure and charming adorned Christmas tree to ring in the season.
Honestly the best part of our stay was the pool!! This is an excellent pool it’s heated & private & we had the whole place to ourselves! The grandkids loved it & we will stay again. The unit was very nice & comfortable nothing fancy but it all worked well, the location is fantastic & we all had a really good time! Thanks
Great rental and vibe with tenants in building.
Everything was great and everyone we encountered was friendly and accommodating. Easy walk to Mirror a lake trailhead and the Brewery. Parking was easy and our stay was very relaxing.
It was ok
We needed a place to crash for a few nights and this worked out ok. The beds were comfortable and for the most part the place was just fine. The internet did not work most of the time. If we did get connected the speed was too slow to watch Netflix. There were no filters for the coffee pot which was a bummer. The flooring was coming apart which was odd since it's obviously been that way for some time. That really needs to be fixed. It's obviously an old building although the pictures and the listing make it out to be more modern. The price was right so in the end it worked for us. I would stay here again if I needed a cheap place to stay that sleeps more than a few people.
Great place to stay when visiting mt hood
Some of the best communication I've ever experienced renting a place on Airbnb. Everything was great, but it was pretty expensive for a one bedroom that is kinda old and dated. Still, very clean and easy.
No complaints! Well-heated, big windows that let in a lot of natural light, comfy living-room & bedroom, nice little kitchen with a good set of kitchenware & appliances for making meals
Throughly enjoyed our stay!
CascadiaGetaways was very helpful. BUT, upon arrival some of the pots and pans were dirty, counter tops not clean. The only functional heater is a small wall unit in the bedroom... no functional heating in the rest of the space. Fortunately the unit is on the third (uppermost) floor, so we were cool but not cold.
very nice people in that place
It was great experience
Had everything we needed. Nice trip.
We had an excellent stay! We will be back!
Great space. Location is perfect. Easy in and out. Parking was convenient. Overall would stay again.
Nice place. Very cozy 👍
Great spot! Close to restaurants and the mountain!
This place is great! Would definitely stay again. The purgo flooring needs replacing as it is warped from water, the kitchen faucet needs replacing. It kept coming on on it's own. The bathroom is updated except for the tub unit which would really bring it together. I like being able to take a bath and the old one was not inviting. Otherwise, very spacious and comfortable.
Heated pool was great!
Close to Mt Hood and restaurants.
Very clean and quiet.
Address was a little confusing as two different addresses were sent via text and email. However, building was easy to find and Cascadia Getaway was quick to respond and sent access instructions in multiple formats (text and email).
The property is good, the pool was fun, bed was comfy. The check in instructions didn't make sense. They mention a front door and back door, but never mention where those are or that they are doors to a hallway, not your place. The instructions are condescending. Obviously they've had many people tell them they can't get into the building. They gave me the wrong code and never mentioned what other buttons to push besides the 4 digit code. I found a 4 digit code in an obscure place in the instructions while the management was trying to help. Not sure they ever would have found it. The TV didn't work, management didn't know how to fix it. There was a dvd player but no dvds. The bathroom door wouldn't close and the floor needs repair. There were condescending instructions on how to rate their air bnb on the counter. They got me mixed up with their next guest. They called me the wrong name in my review and texted me that the room was ready after I had checked out. It has potential though.
We enjoyed our stay in Government Camp. It’s close to Timberline. This unit is as described & fit our needs for this trip.
Thunderhead
The only thing that was misleading was the photos of the pool and the building itself. The interior and the exterior of the building was very run down. Our unit was fine.
