The inside of the property was similar to the pictures. The outside was not particularly well maintained (e.g. the walkway to the stairs was so overgrown with weeds/grass it was tricky to navigate. Overall, the property was clean inside but there was a layer of dust on many surfaces and the oven was filthy. The host was not flexible with an early check in (2 or 3 pm) even though the house was unoccupied the previous day. There were a lot of flying bugs in the house which seemed to have gained access from the windows with the A/C ducts. The lamp shade on one of the table lands was broken when we arrive. The toilet seat was barely attached in the primary bedroom and the shower drain was very rusty.
had a very relaxing weekend at the red cottage and made some unforgettable memories of s’mores at the bonfire/ telling stories in the hot tub. Our group of 7 fit comfortably in the bedrooms and the outdoor table for shared meal times. We visited lakes and a local town bar - everything you want for a weekend upstate!
Def rent a car for proper exploring.
The cons: we arrived and the home had not been properly cleaned in the main spaces and a previous guest had a pet that shed a lot of hair. We sent pictures to the host and did our best to clean ourselves (not ideal upon arrival for a relaxing weekend) but the host offered to resend the cleaning crew the next morning which we appreciated. The home has general wear and tear and part of that is embracing a home that’s nestled in nature (think a few dead bugs under beds and in window nooks). Grass was wildly overgrown which was worrisome with tick concerns, but we stayed clear. something to keep in mind if the details are important to you
Sagewood is a clean, spacious, private spot in the woods. The rooms were clean, linens perfect and everything was as described.
The property is surrounded by trees and so although there are no mountain views it is perfectly secluded. It had everything we needed to make family meals and plenty of space for reading on the deck, grilling and soaking in the hot tub. The fire pit area is great. We saw the August meteor shower while toasting s’mores. Close to Wyndham and Cairo. Had one of our best meals of the whole summer at Matilda restaurant in Hensonville. We would definitely recommend and return to Sagewood.
Very nice place for a getaway in nature. Loved the privacy and overall area around it with woods all around.

Came with a small group and 2 dogs and had an absolutely lovely getaway at this gorgeous house! Everything was pristine, the hot tub was heavenly, and the location is so serene. The hosts have taken special care to make this a great place to stay for humans and furry friends.
They were very communicative and we had a very smooth check-in. They even suggested the best hikes in the area and cute places to go in town (we hit up a local brewery and a charming family owned cafe). There are multiple accessible grocery stores nearby as well that were open late.
Down to the little details (like water bowls for the pups and lots of towels) we had everything we needed to feel at home. We’ll definitely come back.
We had a great time with our group here. the place was spacious and perfect for a relaxing few days away from the city. it is 15 mins to any stores/town so it is quiet and you do need a car. The couch was huge deck and hot tub were lovely and hosts were quick to respond. Kitchen has a lot of stuff to use and they werent cheap with toiletries/paper towels etc. Very thoughtful!
Beautiful property and lovely, peaceful surroundings. The hosts were responsive and helpful and the house was very nicely decorated and felt very high end.
Loved being close to Windham and absolutely recommend dinner at Casa Susanna if you make a reservation in advance!
The hot tub looked out over the lawn and forest and was a highlight of the trip! Highly recommend as an escape and looking forward to another stay!

I stayed here for a few days with my partner and another couple. It was super spacious for just the four of us. We planned this trip to get away from the city for a few days and enjoy the Catskills.
We are all able to work remotely, and there was plenty of space for us all to work. We mostly preferred working together at the dining table, but there were several desks in various rooms where we could take meetings or work quietly.
Then, in the evenings, we went for hikes, drank wine, played board games, watched TV, and enjoyed the hot tub. Hot tub was great and already hot, nothing we had to do but open it up.
Expect to drive 10-15 minutes for hikes and dinner in town. I recommend the Outer Loop North trail for a leisurely 3 mile hike. We went to the Taphouse Grille in Windham and loved it. If you plan ahead with a reservation, try Casa Susanna. It's unbelievable how good it is.
