the red cottage was perfect for a weekend away with friends! on our drive up we stopped at the maggazzini museum, had dinner in millerton, relaxed at the house and made a beautiful dinner together, played card games, and explored hudson! the host was great and communicative!
We escaped the city with a few friends and this place was amazing! Very well stocked and beautiful design, would definitely recommend!
House is very nice. Everything is well maintained and welcoming. The kids room and children amenities are fantastic. I would advise that there is a cigarette smell that emanates from one of the downstairs bedrooms; at times it permeates the house. The smell is on our clothes, upon returning home.
This was our second stay at the Rye House and we felt right back at home in this luxurious and comfortable home. We were traveling with a three year-old and my parents, both above 65, and no one wanted to leave the house. The kitchen has everything we needed for cooking dinners, we got to go sledding on the expansive property, and were only a 25 minute drive from all the shopping and dining in the town of Hudson. Such a special place, we'll be back soon!
Overall, we had an amazing July there, the home is gorgeous, the surroundings are peaceful. The living room dining area is divine...also Red Cottage was kind and helpful whenever we reached out. It's a high end place that overall delivers. Admittedly, there are areas for improvement, granted we were probably the first somewhat long term stayers. The house was clean but there were several areas of the house - closets and owners storage rooms - which were just messy and it was felt. Red Cottage is excellent but there were several things not explained that I had to be proactive about, of importance - like how to work the pool, and other stuff. No detailed manual or explanations unless we asked. The house was lovely and summery, and yet it lacked in places a touch of true high quality eg pots and pans etc, towels hangers (that were just stuck on), and some furniture (but all useful and practical). Again all this was relatively minor. It made our July wonderful in so many ways.
I had a fantastic long weekend at The Rye House! The setting was serene, with deer and even coyotes making occasional appearances—such a unique experience. Cozying up by the fireplace made the stay even more enjoyable. It was truly the perfect escape for relaxation. I also appreciate how responsive the hosts are. I will definitely be back!
MLK Weekend Ski Trip The house is absolutely beautiful and we had a great time. Everything was clean and chic and the kitchen was very well stocked. We cooked several meals at home and appreciated the assortment of pots, pans, knives, etc. Our only small issue was that the wifi wasn't amazing but other than that everything was terrific and surpassed our expectations.

Absolutely gorgeous and private location. Beautiful house with lovely decor and comfortable, stylish furniture. The heated pool and hot tub were a dream during the hot summer days and magical at night. Kitchen had everything a chef might need. Instructions were super helpful. Would absolutely stay again!

The Rye House was such an excellent retreat for a long weekend. A fairly short drive from Hudson, we had the best of both worlds—a serene, incredibly designed home with sweeping views and all the amenities, plus easy access to the restaurants and shops of Hudson proper. Hot tub worked great, so did the fireplace. Looks exactly like the pictures, and that was in winter. Can't wait to come back in the warmer months!

Our stay at The Rye House was a dream come true. The architecture is a perfect blend of modern elegance and natural beauty, with stunning wood paneling that adds warmth to every room. The grand picture windows offer breathtaking views, making it feel like the landscape is part of the interior. Every detail, from the spacious living area with its cozy wood-burning stove to the sleek, well-equipped kitchen, is designed for comfort and style. Outside, the property is a true oasis, complete with an elevated deck, firepit, and a beautiful pool. We spent our days enjoying the property and taking in the stunning views. Although we did encounter a small issue during our stay, the customer service was extremely amazing, quickly addressing our concerns and ensuring our experience remained exceptional. This home is truly a sanctuary, and we can’t wait to return.
