My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Red Cottage. We chose this home for its proximity to Stratton Ski Resort, just a quick 10-minute drive to the lifts and village. The house itself was the perfect size for the 4 of us, and after long days on the slopes, the sauna was incredible. The only minor drawback was that the snowfall covered the river steps away from the home, but that just gives us another reason to come back in the spring or summer! 10 out of 10!
The Post Haus was exactly as it appeared in the photos. There was plenty of space for our family of four - plus the dog. It made a great base for our ski trip, with an easy drive to four great ski mountains - and not too far from Wagmore Kennels for doggy daycare while we skied. We especially loved being able to park under the house, keeping the car out of the snow overnight. The kitchen was well equipped and easily handled our Christmas dinner, with an oven and fridge large enough for our food haul. The hosts have thought of all the little things that make staying somewhere easy including towels, linens, bathroom products, trash bags, dishwasher tabs etc. The setting is picture-perfect on a huge plot. I imagine it would be lovely in summer with seating areas to take in the beautiful views and sounds of the river. It’s close enough to Jamaica Village to quickly grab any forgotten essentials, yet so peaceful that we didn’t see another person or a single lit window in any direction.
Beautiful house - such an unusual awesome design and every little detail is well thought through. It has everything you need for a cozy mountain stay - from a fireplace to blankets to games and Netflix :) It’s a very short drive to Stratton - for some reason Google says it’s 30 min, but it’s actually 10. We would definitely come back again!

When I booked Red Cottage, the public listing shared the place was "pet friendly", which was perfect, as I wanted to bring my cat with my family and I to the trip. Before doing the reservation, I said I was traveling with my family and my cat, and the reservation was accepted. Only after a few days they told me the owner doesn't accept cats, only dogs. Therefore, the listing was not clear enough and I was disappointed. I was given the option to cancel the reservation without penalty, but I decided to travel without my cat (although she would have loved the place). I only share that because it was the only thing wrong with the place; everything else was PERFECT and I'd recommend for anyone. The sauna is very cozy, the kitchen has everything. The place even has luggage racks for you to unpack, chef's kiss! I'd 100% stay there again. My only suggestion would be to update the listing description and say the cottage is dog friendly only.

We had a wonderful stay! The host was very responsive, and the place was spotless with a huge yard for our dog to run around in. We loved the brand-new charcoal grill, and the EV charging worked perfectly. The home security system was also easy to use, which was a nice plus for feeling safe in a new place. It was such a peaceful spot for us and our pup to recharge, right along the babbling river.
Had such a great stay! This cottage is cozy, secluded in the woods and has enough space for 4. Close to a river and lots of outdoor space. Hosts responded quickly and made sure we had what we needed.

A beautiful and very comfortable property. Very well appointed and had everything to make it a very comfortable stay. Excellent kitchen and all products provided for bathroom and laundry. Would definitely consider trying to return to this property.
