The area

Falls Village is a quintessential New England village tucked along the Housatonic River in Connecticut’s Litchfield Hills. Visit the Great Falls, one of the most dramatic waterfalls in the state, or pick up the Appalachian Trail, which passes right through town. The river is a favorite for fly fishing, kayaking, and tubing, while Lake Wononscopomuc in Lakeville and Twin Lakes in Salisbury offer swimming and paddling just 10 minutes away. Summer brings chamber music concerts at historic Music Mountain, and race fans can catch the action at Lime Rock Park, about 8 minutes from the door. Start your morning with coffee and breakfast in the village, then browse the antique shops, farm stands, and cafes of Salisbury, Sharon, and Millerton. In winter, Mohawk Mountain is about 25 minutes away, with Catamount and Ski Butternut within 40 minutes, making Pennybrook Cottage makes a wonderful getaway in every season.
