About this property

This charming 5-bedroom, 3-bath Hudson Valley farmhouse sits on a golf course and looks over rolling hills and mature trees. Sleeps 10 guests with two king suites, two queen rooms, and a twin room, all upstairs. Enjoy a chef’s kitchen with a professional induction range, cozy living and dining rooms, an infrared sauna in the carriage house, and a fire pit under the stars. About 2.5 hours from NYC and 30 minutes from Albany.

Nearby towns: Kinderhook (5mins), Chatham (15mins), Hudson (25mins)

Welcome to Olde Kinderhook, a charming renovated farmhouse set right on the Olde Kinderhook championship golf course in the heart of Columbia County. From the moment you arrive, you’ll take in views of lush rolling hills, mature trees and open fairways that make this home the perfect quiet escape in the Hudson Valley countryside.

You arrive by a long, tree-lined gravel drive, with gorgeous views all around as you approach the house. Step inside and you’ll find a home that blends classic farmhouse character with tasteful, modern styling. Three steps welcome you inside and straight into the chef's kitchen. Butcher block counters, a blue and white patterned tile backsplash and a professional 36" induction range make it a kitchen built for cooking together. It’s fully stocked with everything you need to create a feast with your crew. At the back of the kitchen, the breakfast nook is made for slow mornings, coffee, and conversation.

The dining room and living room each have an original fireplace (decorative only), which gives the home its classic farmhouse character. In the living room you can settle in for a board game or stream your favorites on the smart TV. Warm wood floors, high-speed Wi-Fi and a laptop-friendly workspace make it just as easy to stay a few extra days.

Olde Kinderhook sleeps 10 guests across five bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a king bed, bedrooms 2 and 3 each have a queen bed, bedroom 4 offers a second king, and Bedroom 5 has two twin beds, ideal for kids, friends or travelers who prefer their own space. Three full bathrooms, 2 with beautifully tiled walk-in showers and one with a clawfoot tub/shower combo mean everyone has room to get ready without waiting in line.

Outside, the views are the main event. The setting is typical of idyllic Columbia County, with lush hills, mature trees, and plenty of peace and quiet. Pull up a chair around the fire pit as the sun sets over the hills, make s’mores under the stars, and enjoy the stillness of the course after dark. The converted carriage house holds a private infrared sauna, a relaxing way to warm up after a crisp fall hike, a winter day on the slopes or a round of golf.

Whether you’re planning a family reunion, a weekend with friends or a peaceful retreat close to Kinderhook, Chatham and Hudson, Olde Kinderhook is the perfect retreat. We can’t wait to welcome you.

The area

Olde Kinderhook sits in Columbia County, one of the Hudson Valley’s most storied corners. The historic Village of Kinderhook, just 5 minutes away, is lined with Federal-era homes, antique shops, and cafes, and is home to Lindenwald, the estate of President Martin Van Buren. Fall brings apple picking at Samascott Orchards and cider tastings at Golden Harvest Farms and Harvest Spirits in Valatie. Wander the outdoor sculpture fields at Art Omi in Ghent, catch a show at PS21 in Chatham, or spend an afternoon on Hudson’s Warren Street, known for its galleries, design shops, and acclaimed restaurants. Olana State Historic Site offers sweeping river views and walking trails, and Kinderhook Lake is close by for paddling and fishing. In winter, Catamount and Jiminy Peak are both within an easy drive for skiing and snowboarding, making this a destination worth returning to in every season.

Olde Kinderhook is less than 2.5 hours from New York City and about 30 min from Albany and guests should plan to travel around by car as it is a rural area with limited public transportation. The main routes to access the town are the Taconic State Pkwy to NY-9H from NYC and I-90E to US-9S from Albany.

In the winter, we recommend a car with four-wheel drive that can handle the snow and gravel roads.
