This charming property was beautiful, cozy and super comfortable. We have never had Thanksgiving away from home but the kitchen was impeccably organized, superbly well stocked and clean. We so enjoyed the cottage style, warm dining room. Our holiday preparation went smoothly with great results. Stove was chef quality. Rest of home was tastefully furnished and gave us a country home experience with super comfy beds and pillows. We spent most of our family time around the gorgeous fireplace which was also well stocked. We are planning our Spring return visit already!
This AirBNB was absolutely beautiful. The inside of the home is beautifully updated with many modern amenities while keeping the charm of an old home. It had everything we needed while there. My son (4yo) loved the selection of toys available! I would say that the beds were not the most comfortable but that was really the only negative and most AirBNBs have this problem. The surroundings were beautiful, lots of farm land. There was some construction going on nearby to no fault of the owner. We would definitely recommend!
The Red Cottage hosted my family of four for a weekend ski trip. Freezing rain kept us indoors more than we’d hoped but we still had a lovely time hanging out by the fireplace. The host was communicative and generous, and we had no trouble making ourselves at home. Everything we needed was easy to find.
Beautifully appointed interior that was more than comfortable for two couples plus two adult children in three bedrooms. Kitchen was thoroughly equipped and an inviting layout. We want to go back.
Our family gathered at the Red Cottage from 3 different corners of the world. The house has been recently renovated and every detail considered.
The road is noisy during certain hours but we still enjoyed lots of time outdoors.
Loved my stay at Tanner Farmhouse with my family of 5. Everything was well-kept and prepared for our arrival for a long weekend. The house is so cozy and we felt right at home!
The main street of Pine Plains is a couple of minutes away. It's serene with great neighboring trails nearby, and a lovely small town restaurant Stissing House. Also, Red Cottage recommended the Lake Taghkanic Park which was perfect for the elderly in my family.
The house is very cute and was clean for our arrival. It has a nice outdoor area as well. The kitchen was great for cooking which we love to do. There are some parts of the home that were not working properly. We had issues with hot water, beyond the water heater running out of hot water for a short period of time. We noticed the problem the evening we arrived and altered the property manager the following morning. We were in touch with the property manager several times regarding this issue and although they were good with communication and we tried to resolve the issue, the problem with hot water remained. At one point there was no hot water for over 8 hours. The morning we left there was no hot water at all. We were offered a possible discount, but did not receive one. A very cute home, but we are hesitant to rent it again.
We stayed for 2 nights, home is beautifully furnished and had everything we needed and then some. Soaps were from a local refillery, firewood chopped and stacked on porch, a bunch of games, kitchen utensils and cookware made it possible to easily make our meals. We had dinner at Stissing House, less than 15 mins away and picked up cheese in Chaseholm Creamery down the street. If you plan on making most of your meals, arrive with your groceries as options nearby are limited. Overall the stay was nice however our biggest complaint is that the front of the house is directly on a road - the pictures are a bit misleading as to how private the space will feel and how quiet it will be.
This was a perfect location for us. 15 minutes to the hudson Valley bike path in Millerton( also a very cute town), 25 min to Millbrook, and 5 to the center of Pine plains with a small grocery store, and lovely stissing house restaurant. The kitchen had EVERYTHING, great stove and all necessary items to cook a full meal. The home was on a smaller highway where cars do go very fast however the house and yard are so private and peaceful. There are several spots for hanging out in the yard with chaise chairs , firepit and grill area. The home was very comfortable and very clean. We loved this property!!!!!
We enjoyed our stay at Red Cottage's Pine Plains home. The house was pristine. We stayed over Labor Day weekend and there was a chill in the air but the individual mini split units in each room kept us cozy. The location is in a great spot: so close to Millerton (like 8 minutes) and just a half hour to Red Hook or Rhinebeck. The outdoor area is a great place to hang and we used the grill on a couple nights - even made s'mores one night in fire pit. The kitchen is well stocked. The owners must love to cook. The bathrooms are both renovated and a plus that you didn't think you needed but definitely don't mind– each have a great view. The living room had enough space for our group of five and the huge TV (with streaming channels) was welcome after a long days of raspberry picking (Red Hook) or hiking nearby.
Wonderful little place to stay in upstate NY. Clean and great communication. I do wish I would have known how close it was to the road. The traffic is loud and the cars drive very fast, and with a small dog it wasnt the safest. Also pro tip, if you go in winter ask the host to turn the heat up before you arrive. It was set to 60 and took at least a full day to get warm. Would stay again if I needed to be in the area, but might not bring my dog. Thanks to the hosts!
We had an amazing birthday weekend at Red Cottage. The property was beautiful and the cottage checked all the right boxes. Loved the farm next door too. Would come back again!

Tanner Farm House
Lovely house - quite clean, however, some of the window sills were very dirty, and I love to open windows for a breeze - but because some were dirty, I didn't leave open. There is a no shoe rule in the house, which I don't like - but we respected the homeowners wishes and dealt with it. The house is nicely stocked with cooking utensils, and pots, pans, etc.

Great place. Maybe the most well appointed rental we’ve stayed in. The only drawback was it was on a busy highway and no fenced yard, so I’d just be aware when booking if you have young kids or a dog. That said everything was totally fine and safe and we had a great stay.

Exactly as described — a thoroughly charming old farmhouse that's been beautifully updated. We couldn't have been happier with the location, the furnishings, the speedy responsiveness of the hosts and the lovely setting. The kitchen especially was a total dream, stocked with every appliance on my wish list and then some, and I loved being so close to two great farms (ie farm markets) and to Stissing House!

This is my second stay at this home. Just a delightful, comfortable, little home located on a main road however surrounded by pastures, animals and a sweet yard with relaxing lounge chairs, fire pit. Minutes to the small center of town with a small grocery store and wonderful restaurant.
We had a brief stay but it was a very nice space and the location was beautiful. The house is lovely, very charming and clean.

We had such a lovely time! The house is absolutely stunning and cozy. We spent hours just hanging in the living room, listening to music, next to the beautiful wood burning fireplace. The kitchen is fully stocked with all necessities and was super clean! The beds and linens were soooo comfy. The entire surroundings are so peaceful and the views are incredible! The host is extremely responsive and very sweet - going the extra mile and allowing for a late check out without even having to ask. There was a snowstorm and they came by to plow for us which right in the morning which was great, and we’re very accommodating and always available if we needed anything. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to be in the area and is only a few minute drive to the amazing Stissing House. Thanks for everything!
