About this property

Snowshoe the woods, sweat it out in the sauna, then soak under the stars!

• Outdoor sauna & hot tub
• Arcade, pool & shuffleboard
• Snowshoes included
• 6 bedrooms, sleeps 10
• Parking for 10 plus an RV
• Dog-friendly with Starlink Wi-Fi

Picture this: fresh snow on the tamaracks above Flathead Lake, boots kicked off by the door, and a long stretch in the outdoor sauna before everyone piles into the hot tub with the fire pit crackling. That’s a winter night at The Tamarack!

Six bedrooms sit tucked into the trees above Lakeside, with the lake down the hill and Glacier country up the road. Late fall is the quiet season here. The summer crowds are gone, the fireplace in the vaulted great room gets lit, and the first snow starts dusting the ridges. Once winter settles in, Blacktail is just up the road. It usually opens sometime in December, once there’s enough snow. Whitefish makes a bigger day out about an hour away, and the snowshoes cover everything in between.

This home was built for groups that show up with gear. Skis, boots, bags, and the dog all fit, and there’s garage and driveway parking for up to 10 vehicles plus room for an RV. No parking Tetris at 11pm!

Sleeping:

• Bedroom 1: Queen, ensuite bath, smart TV, deck access
• Bedroom 2: Twin over two twin bunk, smart TV
• Bedroom 3: King, smart TV
• Bedroom 4: Two queens, ensuite bath, smart TV
• Bedroom 5: Queen, smart TV
• Bedroom 6: Queen-over-queen bunk with twin trundle, climbing wall, giant Connect 4

There are four full bathrooms, two of them ensuite.

The game room is why nobody leaves on a cold night. It has arcade games, a pool table, shuffleboard, a poker table, putt-putt, and a wet bar to keep it all going. The kitchen has high-end appliances, a big island with seating, and four ways to make coffee, which matters when ten people wake up at different times. Starlink keeps the Wi-Fi strong enough for a work call from the deck.

Ski crews, holiday gatherings, and big families all fit beautifully here. The drive up is a mountain road, so plan for winter conditions. Our local team is close by your whole stay, so just text us if you need anything and get back to the hot tub!

The area

You're up in the trees above Lakeside, quiet and private, with the valley opening up below you.

Lakeside is a friendly little town on the west shore of Flathead Lake, and it gets even cozier in the off-season.

Skiing: Blacktail is a short drive up the mountain from town, and Whitefish Mountain Resort is roughly an hour away. Opening dates depend on snowfall each year, so check the mountain’s updates before you lock in ski days.

Food & drink: A handful of local spots in Lakeside are just a few minutes away. Kalispell, about 20 to 25 minutes north, has plenty more restaurants, breweries, and full grocery stores.

Out & about: The village of Bigfork is about 40 minutes around the lake, and Glacier National Park’s west entrance is about an hour away. In winter, most of Going-to-the-Sun Road is closed to cars, but the lower valley is gorgeous on snowshoes.

Uber and Lyft are limited in Lakeside and easier to find around Kalispell.

A car is the way to go here. In winter, AWD or 4WD with good tires is your best friend on the drive up. Glacier Park International Airport is about 40 minutes away and has rental cars at the terminal.

“We spent a long weekend with our family to elope in glacier national park! The house was the perfect size for everyone to have their own rooms! The house is STUNNING! Everything was beautiful inside and out. A lot of amenities. Jeff and Bridget responded so quickly to any text I sent. They have all you need and more. The house is huge, beautiful, spacious and welcoming! It truly felt like being at home for the weekend!”

“The house was great, however the host (not the owner) did not address issues with amenities and expected us to troubleshoot the issues (hottub, sauna, shuffleboard) If the issues were resolved the same or next day this house was perfect in every sense of the way. However, the host needs to be proactive in addressing issues asap vs asking guests to troubleshoot issues.”

“We were very impressed with the house. It’s private and well stocked. It’s well thought out and prepared for large families. It was nice to come back to the hot tub after hiking. And plenty to do at the house on your relax days.”
