Great host, had a problem with the shower and they came and fixed it instantly

Positive: Location was convenient. Outdoor space was nice. Cute little place for a weekend getaway for 1-2 people. Negative: Shower is very small, but not a big issue.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at Sunshine Cottage and it was great as always! We like it because it’s in the corner and has a fenced in yard with plenty of patio space in the back. The inside was clean as always and the a/c was already on when we got there so that was nice to go into a cool house. The house was equipped enough for two adults, a 10 year old and our pup. It’s close to get to the beach, the grocery stores and all the souvenir shops. Best thing is the ice cream shop is right next door, just a walk across the parking lot. We go to Port A at least once, sometimes twice a year and we’ve always stayed at Sand Key Rentals. Twice in Sunshine Cottage and once at another one of their rentals in the same Spanish Village. We will definitely be back and stay with them again!!!

my husband and i had an amazing time at y’all’s cute and little home for the weekend one thing i would say the bed frame is broken and my husband and i kept trying to fix it for yall but it would be broken on one side of the bed besides that we loved everything else

Very convenient close to beach access and shops. Close to restaurants.

My wife and our two dogs had a wonderful stay. The space allowed for some work from home space and privacy need for that. And our two dogs had plenty of space that we felt safe letting them run around. There was room to set up a large crate for their bedtime inside the home.

Perfect for just 2 but bed was broken and had maintenance show up unannounced. Other than that we enjoyed our stay!

The sunshine cottage was the perfect little getaway for husband and I. The location is perfect, so many shops and restaurants all located within minutes for a lovely stroll through the town. The cottage was so welcoming, stocked with all the essential amenities and more, very clean, organized and detailed even the ice cube trays were filled up for us. Our host was kind and readily available to help. We can't wait to return!!

Great location in quiet, small neighborhood. We were a bit disapponted, however, because the property did seem a bit run down and in need of a deep cleaning. Dead plants outside, floors were dirty, no basic amenities such as hand towels, dish soap, or even salt and pepper. Sink was backing up. I did bring the items to management’s attention and they were very understanding and responsive. Overall, just didn’t feel like we got what we paid for other than being a good location.

Absolutely loved the patio area. It was peaceful and safe for our dogs.

We had a wonderful stay! The property was spotless, and the Sand Key Vacation Rentals team was incredibly responsive and attentive. Highly recommend booking with them for a seamless and relaxing experience!

Nice clean little cottage in small neighborhood, comfortable for small family of two adults and small children or pet. It has a large fenced in covered yard which is what drew me to property. Pet friendly, only had to bring clothes, matches/lighter to start grill and firepit, food and salt /pepper/oil. AC units provided tolerable temps, we covered the windows with extra sheets and towels to make it darker, temps outside were brutal even at night and we used several fans including some battery operated ones we brought along with us.

Great little house!

The cottage was super cute and I loved the retro fridge. It stayed pretty cool at night with use of the AC units and fans. The shower is a bit of a tight fit, but we made good use of it. I don’t recall seeing this information in their welcome book, but if you’re not familiar with Port Aransas, buy a beach parking pass! We didn’t find this out until we went down to the beach. We looked on the cities website to see where a pass can be purchased. Overall we had an amazing stay at this home! The hosts were proactive with communication and only a short message away. I would rent with them again, and recommend others to rent with them.

Great location and place to stay This place was great to stay in. It was close to restaurants\bars to walk too. It was also close to all the shops. There is an ice cream place right next door. It was delicious.the place was very clean and just as listed. It is big enough for two people. I really think they decorated the place well. The shower was on the smaller side but it was good just to rinse off after the beach. They do provide shampoo and conditioner but if you have long hair ask for more or bring your own. If we go back to Port Aransas I would definitely stay here. They were very responsive and communicated well.The only things to note would be that the ac seems to have a hard time keeping the place cool. It could be because of how hot it is currently. The next door neighbor has a dog and the fence is board on board but there is a gap. So our dogs were being super nosey. They have a front area as well that is separate. You can take your dog to go potty. So we just used that area instead. Either way those are not deal breakers for us but something to keep in mind.

Expensive but has a fenced yard. Very close to amenities.

Enjoyable and much needed get away Positive: Convenient

Nice location, beware of the advertisement since they tried to upcharge us a non disclosed fee. Positive: The location and cottage were great. Negative: When we booked there was an attempt to charge us an additonal $50 that was not disclosed for some type of verification. It took two hours going back and forth for this to be removed. The advertisement specificed a bbq and grill. There was no bbq or grill unless they considered a rusty fire pit the bbq. We had brought food to cook.

This house was adorable and the location was amazing!! The only thing I would say is I wish the “A/C” situation was better! There is only stand up fans for the living room and a split wall unit in the bedroom. After coming in from a day at the hot beach I would have liked to have been able to cool off a little better! I cooked a lot while there and it’s gets very hot in the kitchen/living room area with no proper A/C. Other than that the place was good for my little family!

Great little house for 2. Could fit 2 more with the fold out bed. The shower is a bit small if you’re a bigger person but other than that everything was amazing!

My boyfriend and I (and our dog) stayed at Sunshine Cottage for two nights. We didn't really know what to expect from Port Aransas, but we're very glad we stayed where we did - it's perfectly located walking distance from great local restaurants/bars and of course the beach! The cottage is super cute, cozy and private, but felt spacious due to the large patio. Although we couldn't keep a fire lit due to the strong winds, it was cool to have the firepit area. The outdoor shower was useful after going to the beach. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. Overall, very happy with our stay.

This was a great place to stay! We were able to walk to restaurants and the beach when we wanted, or it was a short drive. A perfect amount of space for two of us and we loved having the outdoor space and little fire pit. Will definitely stay again when we’re back in Port A!

Very friendly company, great rental home!

Location was great! House cozy and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Only complaint was it wasn't the cleanest. Floors were not clean, very dusty. Found a toenail under a night stand. pet hair was all over the couch. Sheets were not changed out. Dishes were dirty, with food left baked onto them. It was communicated to leaser, and the did apologize. They did offer to change the sheets the last night. Also said they're cleaners aren't responsible for dishes. However, for $102 cleaning fees it is expected to be cleaner, or some type of refund given for that much of an inconvenience.

We enjoyed our stay. Can't say enough about the great location. This is the 4th time I've stayed in Spanish Village and wasn't disappointed.

We enjoyed our stay in this cottage it’s is centrally located and easy to find. Near many restaurants and shopping is easy to access The cottage was clean and well organized a fire pit and a covered patio in the back yard was a plus. The whole property is well maintained peaceful and private. We will more than likely rent here again.

Upon arrival, which was late on our end, we reviewed the email they sent to us to get inside the Airbnb and found that the “front door” was actually on the right side of the building, behind the fence. The door that we thought was the front door did not have a key pad on it all, and all pictures of the air bnb also show pictures of the door you can see from the road or the front of the house. We didn’t get in until 10 minutes later we took a shot in the dark and opened the gate to find a door with the key pad on it. With that being said, the bed was nice and very comfortable, but the restroom is extremely small. The shower is supposed to be a one person shower, but it was hard to even be in there without touching one side of the wall or the shower curtain, which stuck to one part of my body at all times while showering. Also, there was hair on the wall inside the shower. The bedroom area floor was pretty dirty too; it seemed like there was gum stuck on the floor. Nice area, needs TLC.

Absolutely Perfect I had questions prior to booking and the owners were very helpful. The location is amazing in relation to shopping, restaurants and still quiet. We had a golf cart and it was a short hop to the beach. We will rent from this group again, it was outstanding. AND FYI on the shower and other complaints online, we had ZERO issues with anything at the cottage.

Sunshine cottage Overall was a great stay, was a little disappointed with the dirty dishes. Whomever stayed in the cottage before Chose to place dirty greasy dishes back in the cabinet instead of washing them.

Nice stay The other units aircon is better. This unit aircon in one room on wall does not work at cooling entire area. Front area with kitchen remained hot entire time.

Three stars It was clean. Shower was disappointing (wife had to wash her hair in the kitchen sink due to poor water pressure in the shower). The bathroom sink was not attached to the wall (not that big of a deal for us). Back area seemed to be under renovation. "Dog friendly" area is out front and very small. Other than that our stay as expected.

Love it - but not well maintained. We stayed in the same cottage in April - one of several. Pefect, but the shower was an issue - temperature and pressure control. We complained to San Key when we stayed there in April. Love it except for the shower issues, which we reported to Sand Key when we left. We were told that no one else complained. When we returned in October, we were forced to either take cold showers or wash in the sink. Washing hair under cold water is very unpleasant. We will return, but not to this cottage.

Great for Quick Getaway This is our 6th year staying in the Spanish Village. With just me and my husband (plus the dog) it is the perfect place for a laid back Port A getaway. It’s not a resort but exactly what you need to be near the beach and at the center of town near many awesome establishments. We will definitely rebook next year.

Don’t bring small dogs This property appears to have a secure place for your puppies but the fences are installed with space between the ground and fence. Our pups are small and could get under it. The neighbors were great and brought them back to us. There were two other issues. The shower appears to be larger than it is (30” x 30”). It was difficult to move in the small space. The second was the TV set up. It has two TVs one in the living area and it got the normal channels the other in the bedroom had Netflix etc but no major channels. It is centrally located and close to all the restaurants and activities. The kitchen is well appointed. It was cold when we were there so we didn’t spend any time outside but the yard was very nice with the exception of the fence set up. Parking was very easy. The property managers were very responsive to any issues we had.

Needed Repairs for Sunshine Cottage The main heater in the cottage did not work. I was promptly given two space heaters, which helped but didn't really keep the property warm. Moreover, for safety reasons, space heaters should not be used at night when you're sleeping or when you leave the property, so it was always cold. The shower didn't work; it was all hot or all cold, not much in between. The cover on the drain was off. Moreover, the water pressure in the bathroom was very low. I took one shower in 7 days and washed my hair in the kitchen sink. After the first day or two, I could not lock the property when I left. The lock was corroded and needed to be replaced. In addition to my clothes, I had well over $1500 in personal items that someone could have easily walked away with. Finally, the prominently advertised fit pit, which I was looking forward to using, wasn't there, though there was a small charcoal grill. Before leaving I brought a list of these problems by the Sand Key rental office and went over them with the woman there. You can't fix it if you don't know about it. Still, I cannot recommend this property until these maintenance items are taken care of. If you're interested in leasing the Sunshine Cottage, I'd strongly advise you to contact the host (i.e., Sand Key Rentals) to make sure these issues have been resolved.

Not what we bargained on Outside area was great. However the bathroom was so small. Could barely turn around in shower and had poor water pressure The only electrical outlet in the kitchen didn’t work. Had to make coffee and toast outside on the deck! Was not able to use toaster oven either. The pictures were very deceiving as to the size of the unit. Would not recommend

Pleasant hideaway I originally scheduled this trip from my boyfriend and I, but due to unforeseen circumstances had to come alone because we were unable to rework the dates of the rental. It was exactly what I expected, and a very relaxing stay. There were a couple tiny things that were missing that were. In the agreement, (sponge to wash dishes, basic seasonings) But those were easily remedied by a quick trip to the store. The community was quaint and quiet, And while it says there is a laundry facility in the community cabana, it wasn’t clearly marked it so I never found it. Again, just ran to the lovely laundromat down the road. Would definitely stay again.

Great little intown bungalow! This property is in the little community called Spanish Village. It is in the middle of Old Town, which is close by anything you might need. Restaurants, shops, beach. You just need a golf cart to get to all of it. We brought our dogs and the yard was great. Outdoor shower was refreshing after a day at the beach. There was extra toilet paper, trash bags, and paper towels. This is not always the case. The bed was comfortable.

Great cozy spot In all is a perfect little place for a family of 4, close to everything you want to do while in PortA.

Perfect for us! We had a great time, we always do in Port Aransas! My husband and I are best friends and not picky. I was a little disappointed that it was not as clean as would have been expected. The only time we called left message with call service and never got a response. Also...lawn service entered gate blowing leaves while we were having coffee, when asked how long they would be they left and when we went outside the gate there was an empty egg carton, plastic cup, and other trash that was not ours. We cleaned it up because we care but when we arrived there was also multiple cigarette butts in yard. We are smokers but will not even throw a butt in the ocean while fishing, much less a property yard.

The house is super cute and had everything we needed for the stay. It’s a perfect place for a weekend getaway in Port A, and really close to restaurants, bars and the beach.

Labor Day Stay Sheets, matress pad and matress were dirty. I dont think the sheets were even changed. They were wrinkled (slept on) and had black animal hair all over it. Did call mgmt around 9 when we got there and they did bring us new sheets. The kitchen door is about to fall off the hinges. Enjoyed the outdoor area.

Quick Trip Booked this property for a quick getaway. It was the prefect size for me and the pugs. My mom and sister booked the property next door. We enjoyed the outside area and the fire pit. Thought it was nicely maintained. Would consider saying here again if in the area. Very pleased with the experience.

Great little cottage This is a great little cottage for 2 people. Great location and yard. 2 things that would have made it better: a new mattress- springs were sprung with a black hole that kept sucking us in. Another AC unit- currently only one which is in the bedroom.

Great location, great yard, small home Location is great for restaurants and short drive, walk to beach! Covered patio gives extra living space, shade all day and evening! Fenced yard is appreciated with pets or would be good with children. Small sitting garden if you want sun or to barbecue. Perfect for my husband, our 2 dogs and me when you have the patio as additional space. If weather is cool the house is very small. Nice, quiet neighborhood and well kept.

Pleasant Surprise First time visitors. VRBO was throw, pleasant, informative. we had the place to ourselves. Everyone was kind and polite. Beach was majestic. We returned recharged after celebrating our 8th anniversary. This was time well spent. Thank you!

Cute place to stay! We have stayed at the Spanish village before and liked this cottage even more than the last. Just the right amount of room for the 3 of us and our 2 dogs. We had a nice bonfire one night and it's a great location. Would be nice to have a few more pillows and blankets. There were only 2 pillows and two blankets for all us.
