We had a great stay at Red Cottage — friends and family. We would definitely consider returning ! The surrounding nature is very pleasant and tranquil. - kitchen: nicely equipped and organized - salt water pool: warm and very pleasant - gym: excellently compact esp. for the classic lifts; also has ample free weights and kettlebells - home design: highly copacetic, lots of subtle attention to detail The hosts were responsive and did their best to answer our questions. Friendly note for future guests: vegan restaurant “Figwood and Fig” in Port Jervis is highly recommended. Thank you for a memorable weekend
Beautiful property that was incredibly well equipped. Not only were the larger amenities like the pool, hot tub, sauna and cold plunge fantastic, but the house is stocked with every cooking tool you could possibly need. The hosts also provide all cooking essentials (spices, sauces, flour, salt, sugar etc) as well as an amazing coffee and tea set up, with tons of nespresso and milk options. The bedrooms are also set up very nicely, will great bedding and robes, slippers etc. Lastly, the kids room is amazing especially if you have kids aged 3-10. Bunk beds, toys, art supplies, etc. Will definitely book again and check out Red Cottage’s other properties.

Probably the most amenities and best stocked kitchen I’ve ever rented. Every piece of kitchen equipment you can think of or need. Pool/cold plunge/sauna/hot tub combo is hard to beat. Great family vacation!
My family and I loved our stay here. It’s exactly what you see in the photos and in some cases even better. Everything was super clean and felt brand new. We had everything we needed to cook all our meals. All the amenities worked perfectly and there’s even some fishing gear (my children caught two fish!). I would definitely stay here again without hesitation.
The house was perfect for our stay (two small families with kids similar ages). The amenities were incredible (hot tub and sauna). The place is well organized. The design has been well thought out. With those combined, we had the loveliest weekend in a beautiful home. We’d come back here again!

Our family (including 2 children) absolutely loved this property and home. It was maintained very well and is exactly as shown in the pictures. Quiet and secluded but with fun towns (e.g. Livingston Manor, Callicoon) and memorable hikes within striking distance, it was the perfect escape to de-stress and cap off our summer. The host was very helpful if/when input was needed during our stay. We would love to come again.
Really enjoyed our stay with our toddler. Great pool and hot tub, beautiful and well stocked kitchen. A magical kids room with bunk beds, an arts table, lots are cool toys good for different ages and interesting books. Only down side is that it's a bit far from the main towns in the area like Livingston Manor.
We family celebrated a birthday at Red Cottage. We had an amazing time. The home is beautiful. Very well cared for, clean and well stocked. It was very kind to have snacks and other foods available to guests. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. By far, it was the Air B&B stay we have ever experienced. Our stay at this Airbnb was an absolute blast! I think 🤔 I can say, this was our favorite Airbnb of all times. From snowy adventures to sunny escapades, we soaked in every moment. The spacious living room and kitchen were perfect for family gatherings, and the sauna was pure bliss. Games galore kept us entertained, while the lake with boats added an extra thrill. Clean, comfy rooms sealed the deal - a vacation dream come true!
The Red Cottage was a dream home for a weekend with my family. It's beautifully decorated, the amenities are top notch, and was such a peaceful and comfortable place for our group of 5 adults, 1 baby and 1 dog. The kitchen is super well equipped and stocked and a joy to cook in. We had a great time cooking and having meals together. And even though the house is decorated in a very sophisticated way, it still felt very safe for the baby to run around and explore. And the kids' room is stocked with crayons, papers, and toys, so there were plenty for my kiddo to play with. We unfortunately had a lot of rain and freezing cold during our stay, but the house stayed nice and toasty, the gas fire place added extra warmth, and the amazing sauna had us all enjoying the cold. Although, we'd all love to come back in the summer for the pool and lake activities...! The hosts were very easy to communicate and were very helpful. Thank you so much for everything. We would return in a heart beat !
This Airbnb was one of our favorites we've ever stayed in. The place is identical to the photos, incredibly well appointed, all the comforts of home, everything feels so clean and lots of nice comforts like toto toilets, a cute little gym, a brand new sauna, all on a gorgeous lake setting. I am kitchen-oriented and this one is FULLY STOCKED including snacks, wine fridge, coffee bar, every appliance you could want and cookies on the counter. If you came with your family there is so much to do between the kayak, the pool, the hot tub, the lawn games, the fire pit, the BBQ, the sun deck, the cozy fireplace, the kids play room, and the list goes on. We came to get away from the city and relax in the woods and our stay was so peaceful and serene. My husband gets creeped out if a rental isn't perfectly clean so I'm very fastidious when it comes to cleanliness and this place checks all the boxes. Can't wait to come back.

We had a great family time at the Cabin! The place is so detail oriented and nicely decorated, very clean, looked just like the photos! We found everything we needed! Adults can also sleep at the bunk beds in the kids room. Would love to come back sometime in the future!

Our Thanksgiving getaway at the Spirit Cabin was great. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the house was equipped with everything we needed, plus more. It made our stay so much more convenient and enjoyable. One of the highlights of our experience was the cabin's secluded location, which provided a great sense of privacy. It was exactly what we were looking for to escape the everyday life. We are considering rebooking for the next summer to take advantage of the pool and the lake, summer time will provide us with a better value for the price. We encountered no issues during our stay. Everything we needed was readily available, and we did not have to contact the host for any assistance. Thank you once again for providing us with such a wonderful experience. We will definitely be recommending the Spirit Cabin to our friends and family.
As two couples, we stayed here for a weekend getaway and it was gorgeous. Coming from the city, we really appreciated the quiet beauty of the spirit cabin. The home was well stocked with snacks and food. Lovely little touches, hosts were always very responsive throughout our stay, and flexible with both our check in and check out times. We had a delightful time and would recommend!!

This stay was beyond our expectations. It was clean, comfortable with plenty of fun things to do. The host paid attention to every little detail to make the experience super relaxed and memorable. Everyone in our group had a great time and were so impressed by the extra amenities (food, tea, drinks, treats for the dog). I can’t say enough what a lovely stay. Plenty of indoor and outdoor entertainment. The host responded quickly to emails and we were fortunate to enjoy all the amenities offered including the pool. We would love to stay again.
Our group had an AMAZING stay and want to return! The self-check in was very easy and smooth. Upon arrival, everything was pristine! The dining table was set up for us and we were absolutely amazed by how well stocked the kitchen was. Not only did the kitchen have every appliance and tool we could ever need (including a bar area with all the drinks/tea/coffee essentials), but it was stocked with plenty of high quality (Whole Foods brand!) snacks. I often worry about having to pack all of my cooking tools, but this house had everything we needed and more! Not only was the property so modern, clean, and beautiful, but the amenities were also fun to use! We loved the hot tub, sauna, gym and enjoying a movie by the fireplace. The host even provided robes, slippers, and a complete s’mores kit! The house was also very high tech—we could use an iPad to turn on the sauna, the bathrooms flushed with a hand wave and outlets were everywhere! Perfect house!
We had a wonderful stay celebrating my mom’s 70th birthday. It felt like a true spa-style mini getaway during a snowy weekend. The hot tub, sauna, gorgeous shower and soaking tub made it feel so luxurious. The bath products were a thoughtful touch, the warming toilet was a big hit, and the house was incredibly well stocked with snacks and a full coffee bar. Even in the snow it was beautiful — we can only imagine how special it is in the summer right on the lake. Overall, we made such special memories and would definitely recommend staying here.
I have stayed at countless Airbnbs all over the world, and I can honestly say I have never experienced a stay like this one. I knew the photos were beautiful, but nothing prepared me for how incredible the Spirit Cabin truly is. Every single detail felt intentional, thoughtful, and elevated. From the Aesop and Le Labo toiletries, to the SFERRA linens, to the Toto toilets — the quality of everything in this home is unbelievable. The beds were genuinely some of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. The kitchen was stocked better than most actual homes: pancake mix, s’mores supplies, a full spice collection, wooden spoons, a garlic press, baking tools, and anything you could possibly need to cook a full meal. I Instacarted food before arriving and ended up not needing half of the items because the cabin already had so much. The jacuzzi was perfect, the fire pit was magical, and the entire space felt peaceful, luxurious, and thoughtfully designed. It’s rare to feel so taken care of in
Absolutely Perfect Stay in Forestburgh Our stay at the Spirit Cabin was nothing short of amazing. The home is stunning, with meticulous attention to detail in every corner. We brought our dog along and had the best time- BBQ, kayaking, fire pit, sauna, hot tub, and in general - enjoying the beautiful spacious surroundings. The hosts thought of absolutely everything—there was a popcorn kit, a s’mores kit, and a mini bar stocked with everything needed for hot chocolate, tea, coffee and even mixers for cocktails. Every detail was carefully considered, making our stay feel effortless and luxurious. We truly can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a perfect getaway.
The property is ideal for a private getaway from the city. A lot of thought has been put into amenities to make your stay relaxing and fun. The location of the house is even more beautiful than it appears in the listing images. The small lake is much larger than we anticipated and great for canoeing and kayaking. The pool techs did come for over an hour twice during our day stay to open up the pool for future guests. I asked if the work could be done while we were away for the day or after our stay. They weren't able to accommodate my request, which I was disappointed by since I was enjoying the privacy. Overall a great stay and we would happily book again.
The home was great. We enjoyed every minute of our week stay from ordering in and playing board games to cooking dinner to jumping in the hot tub every few hours. We hope to come back to this house again!

We had a fabulous time at Red Cottage, the property is fantastic and the pictures honestly don’t do it justice. The house is beautifully decorated, and so well kitted out we were honestly blown away. They’ve thought of every single detail that can enhance your stay, from s’mores kits to popcorn, a mini bar, an incredible coffee station, dog treats, kids games, scented candles and beautiful bathroom amenities, the list goes on. The in house ipad guide is so helpful to help navigate all the amazing amenities. And what a beautiful and peaceful setting. Communication with the hosts was friendly, efficient and proactive. I could go on and on, but to sum it up, it’s the best place we’ve stayed at, and we will be back!!

We needed to contact the manager for a few basics and they were incredibly responsive. The pool, hot tub, sauna and cold plunge was such a highlight! We look forward to staying again!

The Airbnb is excellent and has all you could need for a getaway. All of the modern amenities you would need, while also being in a private area in the woods.
We had such a great time. The view of the lake was priceless. The place was better in person than the photos. I was really impressed with little details this place was equipped with. There isn’t really any restaurant in the area so make sure you come prepared!
