This was the best place I stayed by far
My daughter lives in the building so it was so convenient to stay so close to her for my visit! Arrived by train and a quick Uber ride to location. Other than the nor’easter, it was a great weekend!
Clean, quiet and comfortable. The apartment was missing a few basic things (bath mat, sufficient coffee pods) but the management company was extremely responsive. Parking can be a challenge.
Had a very comfortable stay. Will be staying here again!

It's a nice place and very unique than any other places we stayed in the past. The building felt little weird but you eventually get used to it. It used to be a school so it has it's own history and the building has some old pictures framed on the wall which is very nice. The host communicated well and answered everything on time. The room was also cleaned and had pretty much included everything in the kitchen including first aid bag. Overall, we liked our experience!

The building is huge , and the loft is spacious. Just be aware of the 50$ non refundable fee . But the host does offer a 250$ refundable fee if there isn’t any damages . But overall I enjoyed my stay .
It was ok Positive: It was very spacious and loved the tv with all the good apps. Loved the huge windows and the view. Kitchen and dining room were big. Bed was surprisingly comfortable. Negative: We checked in at 1am and there were no towels. Like at all. I requested towels and they said they wouldn't be delivered until after 10am and before 4pm. We had an 8 hour day of flying. Then they had us go to the next floor and get towels from an empty room; Hand towel and bath mat. That morning I requested towels again and again they gave the same delivery time between 10am and 4pm. I finally had to call them to get them delivered 20 minutes later which ended up wasting half a day waiting. There was a lot echo in the room and we heard the neighbors opening and closing doors all night which sounded like it was our room. Not the most quiet. The hotel staff was off site so there was no in person contact. Shower pressure was terrible.

Individual apartments in cavernous building Positive: The building that we stayed in is an old high school that has been converted into apartments. I applaud the creative re-use of the building. Our apartment was nicely furnished with large windows and natural light. The front desk staff were kind. Negative: The building's interior is an odd environment. There are literally 100s of apartments across 4 floors and the place is huge inside with large long hallways. I believe some of the apartments are occupied full time and some are leased out as a hotel/airbnb lodging. There is not any staff to speak of other than someone to watch the front door and keep up common spaces. The cavernous interior and hallways desperately needs maps and better lighting. It was very easy to get lost in. Tbh, it was creepy and I don't say that lightly. Our apartment was nice enough and featured a nice kitchen and living space with a loft upstairs where the bed was. Be aware there is a flight of stairs up to the loft which may not work for mobility impaired guests.
It wasn’t perfect but it was good enough to recommend. Cleanliness was definitely lacking, but I don’t think this is the norm. The room was not ready by my check in time and the cleaning lady was given less than an hour to clean the room by her management.

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it! it's extremely well located - the 21 bus and MFL subway is a short walk away and the place itself is clean, well maintained, and really nice looking. The building is also amazing - there's a laundry room and gym. Would highly recommend for those travelling to the area, especially those looking for longer stays.

Beautiful loft spaces in a renovated historic high school were great for a two-week stay. Pretty close to groceries, restaurants, and cafes, but definitely in a transitional neighborhood. Living space and community amenities were fantastic, but awful parking availability and an incomprehensible building layout (with no maps or directions) made moving in a little tough. In-unit amenities were also good, but my washer/dryer was broken and couldn't be fixed while I was there. Host did reimburse me for using the building's laundry but that was another hassle that was unnecessary and detracted from the overall convenience of the listed amenities.

Business Trip I chose this property because it was close to the hospital whereI was working. The building is very loud and I got two parking tickets. The apartment was nice and clean, but the heat was not working. The owners were very responsive and had somebody come look at it. The neighborhood was a little. Unsafe.
This is my second time staying at Simon’s place. The first time was for 3 weeks. I was happy with the place, comfortable and with everything that I needed. If you don’t mind walking, there is cinema and multiple restaurants at 20 minutes walking. Close to CHOP and U Penn

Boa localização, apartamento amplo, cozinha bem equipada. Senti falta de ter vassouras e outros itens de limpeza, o que obriga a contratar a limpeza no meio da estadia em estadias longas. A fechadura é elétrica, e no dia que iria embora, antes do horário de check out, fiquei presa do lado de fora por falha da fechadura, e houve demora de cerca de uma hora para a resolução, mesmo em contato com a central.
Lots of space and comfortable!
I have been using Airbnb for several years, but Simon’s place is one of my top favorite Airbnb so far. I love the modern theme of the place, as well as the big glass windows. The fact that it’s an apartment inside an old highschool building, so even though there is a lot of neighbors, you still have the privacy and quiet you need. I can play the music a little bit loud, or turn on the volume for the movie up a little bit at night, and wouldn’t worry that I will bother anyone, it’s the power of the brick wall. Must say that I also love that they have security by the door, a big lounge with multiple games for you to hangout is a must. Me and my partner visited the lounge everything and had so much fun. The only thing I dont like about the place is it can be freezing in the living room, since the AC/heater is right next to the big window, it can’t make the place warm at all, it would be nice if we can have a space heater. However, would definitely comeback if I need to visit Philly again

Not happy Positive: The location, but upon arriving there were 2 homeless people sitting on the stairs of the building. Negative: The staff were not friendly, in the apartment the washing machine was broken, the floors were sticky. Not cleaned properly, there were no blankets. The gym is outdated and 3 machines were out off order, 5 out of the 5 recumbent bikes did not work, not able to use the washer dryer on the apartment, I could not even get a payment card to use the on-site laundry. I travel to Philadelphia alot, I will not stay there again or recommend it to my colleagues

I won't rent from this corporate "host" again. Making the reservation took many more steps than any other AirBnB host has required - I put my foot down when they asked me to send a photo ID (after securing my deposit). I've had job interviews that were less intrusive. If that was all, I wouldn't bother with this review, but it was just a start. The building is a construction zone, and two of the five days I was there the toxic smells, like a combination of industrial cleaners and airplane glue, were overwhelming. I'm just glad I had somewhere else to go for most of those days. The corporate "host" said nothing about the ongoing construction until just before I arrived, when effectively it was too late for me to reconsider my stay. The apartment was super cold and there weren't extra blankets so the first night I was very uncomfortable. An additional space heater that was provided helped, but it was never cozy in the unit. The building is being rented as a luxury property, but it's not.

This was convenient since my daughter and family live in the building. As someone who has had VRBO rentals for 18 years I do have a few suggestions that would improve the guest experience without a great deal of increased effort
We were so glad to find this truly lovely place which was pet friendly as we were traveling with a dog. It was well appointed and attractive. However, it was a gentrifying neighborhood with some risk when outside at night and although they have a 24 hr doorman, they were not always present when we were walking the dog hence we were outside…in the dark…mildly terrified. We were promised a key fob to get in but it never materialized. I asked for a partial refund because of this but that was never addressed either. While not a deal breaker it seemed unfair at best and unnecessarily dangerous at worst. It is a good location for us as we were visiting our children a few blocks from there but I’ll certainly take this into consideration when booking next time. Choose at your own risk.

Great apartment. Felt safe and comfortable. The front desk concierge, esp Cook& his wife Erika were wonderful, helpful welcoming. I stayed at West Loft last year and that's the only place in West Philly that I would stay. I had to extend my stay and it was handled easily. Highly recommend especially if you have a family member in Penn hospital.
Simon was a wonderful host. There was a mishap with the cleaning, and we didn't have all of the kitchen equipment we needed, but Simon was hugely helpful and things rectified very quickly.
I love staying in this location and the host made sure that I was taken care of. The building holds historic and sentimental value to me because it is the place I actually attended school. I will be trying to stay there again in the upcoming weeks.
The place looked just like it did in the photos. Clean & very fast responses from SoSuite. The building is very dog friendly, which I enjoyed. It was a unique experience as this unit is in a remodeled former high school. It has charm. Just make sure to read the house rules. They charge a $250 deposit that’s refundable.

It was an adventure. Positive: The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The kitchen was clean and provided a teapot! The staff at the front desk were always helpful and friendly. Negative: For senior citizens like myself the front steps were challenging carrying luggage. And the stairs to the loft were daunting, especially during the night. The lofts would be great for younger, more fit guests. I did not know about the key fob for the front door - was curious as to what it was. Did not need it until summer school move-in started and the front doors were locked.

WEST LOFTS UNIVERSITY Rental studio from 2 avril to 9 avril. When I arrived I was greeted by the person who takes care of the security reception upon receipt of packages and many other things… Very friendly and helpful people whit a impressive shift of at least 6 of them. I felt safe and very well in this huge complex of old university with a life to itself…🤩The studio was very bright and beautiful, clean and quite quiet despite the windows overlooking a main street. I am still a smoker and one thing I had to go outside each time I was going to smoke a cigarette and wen you have to go down 3 flours to do all those hallways to go to smoke it’s not enjoyable… This place was just magical and super interesting, with an incredibly rich gold standard bookstore were I Got lost for a while… and could have spend a lot of time 😍 so exciting place. The gym, a classic, a work of art and remarkable. A dog bar at the reception. Friendly tenants with their animals and me who loves animals I was really fulfilled… And even the director a Woman she should us a part of the gym of this renowned University 1911 and gaved us a little tour of the place with an explanation. Great Stay! Only thing wrong was the cleanliness. There was Pet fur everywhere which left a smell. Under the stairs, under and on top the rug, etc. I lit a candle to remove the smells and got charged 250 so lol no deposit back. But other than that if your pet friendly this building shouldn’t bother you. Simon was very communicative and willing to help. The bedroom is considered a studio because the bed is at the top of the steps. Also I was charged to dry my clothes because my unit only had a washer machine in it. Simon gladly made sure I received a Laundry card for their facility but you have to pay lol.

This place is great! Area is safe and quiet even during the weekend. I wanted a place close by for a staycation and change of scenery and tranquility, and I got what I wanted. I recommended this place for my friends and family members who want to visit Philadelphia. It is close to downtown as well, >10 minutes drive to downtown. I had a great weekend and would definitely book again and again. Simon is a great host. He replied my message quick and was sweet enough to ask how I was doing in the middle of my stay and if I needed anything. Everything was easy from the checkin till checkout. Book it, you won’t regret it.

This is a very clean and comfortable loft apartment, great for a couple staying few days in University City. We walked daily to UPenn which is about 15-20 minutes away by foot. Although the hallways are a bit dark, the unit itself is very bright. There is plenty of room in the kitchen/living room area. The bedroom loft includes a desk/work area. Coupled with the large table in the kitchen area, there is plenty of space for a couple to work remotely. The kitchen contains all the essentials to cook a few meals on the road. A supermarket is about 3 blocks away. A drug store is about 2 blocks away. The street noise is a little loud, but probably to be expected since the unit is in the city. The bed is very comfortable for sleeping. The bathroom looks to be newly renovated. This is a very good apartment to rent.
Super awesome with responding and checking in. Loft was perfect location for our mini vacation.
