There was a chair that was broken and I sat in it and fell hard backwards due to missing screws. The bed had a missing support in the middle and the toilet was full when I got there. Nice touch with water and pretzels but bed and chair are unsafe. Had to sleep on couch
Apartment was nice, spacious and very clean. Great location, paid parking on a side, I loved that the kitchen has utensils and I was able to cook my meals instead of spending eating out all day. Host was very helpful and I had a great experience overall, definitely booking this place again.

Good place to stay
Airb&b’s advertising “all fees shown” yet this hid a pet fee & security deposit in the fine print. To access the apartment you had a lengthy set of stairs, which was covered in materials from a collapsing ceiling, & trash like chicken wing bones scattered across the entryway. Inside, the floors were so sticky that it was like skating on lard. We tried to clean the floors with a towel, & it came up filthy black. Flushing the toilet had a 50% success rate, & the water would run constantly until you went through the top because the seal was broken. On the counter we discovered a listening device, which claimed to monitor “temperature, sound levels” but not record. It had a “tampering fee” for disengaging, which feels far too intrusive. One of the 2 bedroom doors wouldn’t close properly. & the upstairs neighbors partied until 4AM on a Tuesday, so loudly that no one could sleep, we genuinely thought they’d burst through the ceiling. Bet I don’t get my security deposit back after this review

The host contacted us early the first day to inform us that the previous tenant was refusing to leave and the space might not be ready by the check-in time of 4pm. They offered to put us into a third floor space, but the building had no lift, and one of us minor mobility issues. A second-floor space was doable but a third-floor space would not be. I told them that we were coming in late and wouldn't need the space until 5pm or 6pm, giving their cleaners extra time. At 4:30pm I was informed that the space was ready. It was not ready. We walked into a space with sticky floors, strange blue substances on surfaces, dirt and grime on doors, a shower curtain that was going to fall had we not fixed it, and a leaking soap dispenser. They had up to an extra hour to clean the place, and they really should have used that extra time.
Positive: The apartment was centrally located in Chinatown in Philadelphia and made accessing the city quite easy. Negative: The apartment was not cleaned properly. The screens on the window had dust and soot that look like they hadn't been cleaned in months, same with glass on the windows.

Positive: The Chinatown location was great. Negative: There's absolutely no view from any of the windows, which needed a clean. The shower gels hadn't been stocked-up and the shower curtain only just reaches the top of the bath, so the floor gets soaked whenever you use the shower. The apartment itself is a bit dim because of the lack of natural light. There's a long flight of stairs up to the apartment and no lift.

Great! Positive: Very clean and tidy, and in a safe area. There is parking nearby so that’s also convenient. Negative: I liked everything the only inconvenience is the noise. Unfortunately you can hear everything the people upstairs are doing

Tellement de bruit on auraiot dit qu'ils bougeaient des meubles même à 11heures du soir... Et ils semblaient trop verbalement menaçants, donc on aurait pas eu envie d'aller leur parler et de leur demander d'être plus silencieux.

We had a sunken bed that was never fixed. No elevator, 33 staits to unit. We had a neighborhood where I had to pay 32 a day for parking (unexpected) then yhe front door flew open and broke with 40 mile an hour winds. Finally 6 am on Sunday the rice wrap place started drilling and hammering. They shouldnt affiliate with Sosuite because THEY are better. I will never stay there again. A weekend to celebrate my sons and it wasnt what I wanted at all. No free parking I paid over 100 dollars to park.
Comfortable, clean, and Cozy Chinatown Digs. Positive: Simple and comfy for having a place near Center City without paying Center City prices. Very clean and simple with all the amenities and basic needs you could want. Negative: Heads up about the stairs, just for future reference would be great. Luckily, my colleague had recovered from his ailments.

This place could be absolutely fantastic, its location is spot on and really close to everything. The communication from the host was very good. The slight negatives are that the place would benefit hugely from a lick of paint, and some TLC. The bed in one of the rooms was broken and very rickety, bathroom had a smell of drains and was very tired and grubby. In the living room there’s a cupboard which contains some sort of heating system that has the door falling off and is covered by an old dirty curtain. The pictures look like they must have been taken some time ago and the place is definitely ready for a refurbishment. Price too high for the quality.
This bnb was very nice and cute on the inside the only issue we faced were there were a lot of stairs we were not expecting that and also the walls are paper thin we could barely sleep the whole weekend because of how noisy the upstairs neighbor was but overall it was fine lots of great Chinese,Thai & Japanese food around and great walking distance if it's a nice day

Central location in the middle of Chinatown and walkable to Old City. Nice place to stay with our dog and check in and check out were easy. However you can hear every step the neighbors would take either in the stairwell or directly above you.

Really only good for somewhere clean to rest your head. SoSuites was very good at communicating and answering my questions, but that being said, it was one of the saddest buildings we’ve stayed in. If you bring your pet, please be aware that the ceiling is thin and you can hear the neighbors walking/talking/etc. I don’t think the quality of the listing reflects the price, but it was one of the most affordable we could find at the time. ****Also please be aware that this is a 2 story walk up. *****

Overall a decent place to stay. Check-in was delayed due to house keeping needing more time. The unit looked clean once we checked in but floors were sticky. Clearly there was a party thrown by the previous renters. Signs of decorations hung on the walls. Artwork shown in the listing pictures were missing or damaged. My daughter enjoyed the arcade game so that was a plus.

We were disgusted , there stains on the furniture There is a club right below the building and it's really really loud with a bunch of people drinking and screaming and running up and down the steps until 3 4 in the morning some people even sound like they tried to open our door there is dirt and was not clean at all it look like I didn't even want to sit on the couch bed wasn't bad but that's about it everything was dirty and dingy and looks nothing like the pictures that they show you they should get in trouble for doing false advertisement I was so disappointed when I walked in that door never again accused us of smoking. I Do Not smoke!!! My son has asthma! Please don't waste your money on staying here you will be very very disappointed!!! Negative: Exact same as seen above
Pros: Very walkable. Right in China town. Next to several restaurants. Easy walk to the convention center. Cons: When I went to checkin the checkin instructions were not available through Airbnb and I couldn’t find the email from the random company with the checkin instructions. We had to end up calling them, which they answers right away and gave us the checkin instructions. When we got in we immediately noticed that the floors, counters, and inside of drawers were all sticky. Our socks were filthy almost immediately. And the club downstairs is incredibly loud until past 2am on most nights. Not worth the money.

Simon’s place was clean and lots of space. Beds very comfortable. The noise of the nightclub downstairs was annoying but not terrible. We used earplugs so that helped. We had our dog and there was a small park close by so that was a bonus. We felt safe safe staying here.
Negative: The rather loud disco below was a little surprising, but I was able to get to sleep.
Our stay at SoSuites was unacceptable and downright terrible. The apartment was infested with mice, which the host ignored despite our repeated messages with video evidence. On top of that, the location above a noisy night club made for a terrible stay as the loud music kept us awake late into the night. The pictures might create an illusion of a nice place but in reality this place is in an unacceptable condition. Needless to say we were disappointed with the lack of effort to make our stay comfortable and safe. Don't stay here!

Great little spot for a visit. If you’re here for the weekend there is a nightclub underneath it but I didn’t notice it when I was in bed, just the living room. Outside of that couldn’t recommend more
Cannot beat the location for the price
Great location I was able to get to the convention in 5min walking. The only thing I didn’t like was the noise from the hooks lounge (Night Club) and the people from the 3rd floor. This is a great place for young people to stay. Unfortunately I when for a business trip and wasn’t able to sleep till 3:30 am!
The unit was as pictured and came with many nice amenities. However it is located immediately over a night club that will blast loud music until 3am every day. Good unit for a younger person who enjoys the night life but after working a busy convention for 12 hours I wish I could have come to a quiet place to relax and unwind after a long day. Unit was clean except for heavy concentration of dust in the air vents. If you have any dust allergies you’re going to need a Claritin. I did have a few complications with check in/out procedures but that was easily handled with a couple phone calls and texts. They are very responsive if any concerns do arise in that matter.

There is a very noisy bar right under the apartment that causes everything to shake and it goes until the late hours of the night and early morning. There was hair and dirt all in the bathroom. I was grossed out to take a shower in there. There was crumbs everywhere when we got there also. The photos made the place seem a lot better than it actually was.
At a convenient location in Chinatown. However, the place has no natural light and that there is a hookah club right below, so if you’re noise sensitive, it might be challenging

Hi this place was the the bomb diggity. Location was amazing for access to the convention center and plenty of yummy yummy food. Host was very responsive. Only thing is there a hookah lounge downstairs which is open until 2 AM and they play loud music. If you don’t mind that this place is great! Folks there are real nice.

The description for this unit said there was a bar below it so to expect 'noise' on Friday and Saturday night. The bar is actually a club, and the music was so loud that earplugs didn't help due to the percussion and vibration in the apartment. We weren't able to sleep until after 2am both nights. I think if we knew that it was a full security pat down club situation, I would have never booked this. A bar is not a club. Simon did call the owner of the club and the music was 'turned down' for about 30 minutes and then returned to full volume. Also, the bed frame was broken in one of the rooms. While there was an offer to 'fix' this we had a full itinerary during the day and did not feel comfortable with someone being in the apartment with our things (computers, cameras etc) if we weren't there. It would have been impossible for this issue not to be discovered during housekeeping. We ended up moving the mattress to the floor in order to sleep. The location was very good and convenient to everything we were in Philly to do however. We just wished the furniture would have been in better condition, and that the club issue would have been fully disclosed. If my daughter were any younger, we would have had to pack our bags and move else where due to the nighttime noise. Not recommended if you have young children.
Overall the stay worked out very well. We initially had an issue with the thermostat but that was quickly remedied by the host. I feel like the amount of noise coming from the bar was a little undersold, but we also didn't bother complaining about it. If you're trying to get an early night's rest on a Friday or Saturday, I'd recommend staying elsewhere. But if you're going to be out and about anyway, who cares?
Place was clean and accurately described. If you are looking for a place where you don’t need to worry about noise complaints late at night. This is for you. Lots of place to go out near by and there is a hookah bar/club downstairs. Not ideal if you are looking for a quite stay.
Located right in china town and is walking distance from popular spots in Philly, however it is not cleanest part of the city. It’s also next to a night cafe. Place was relatively clean and welcoming. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was no shower curtain liner but that’s it. There is also a $15 pet fee. Host is very responsive. Overall a decent one night stay.

The space was great and the location ideal with good amenities and I parked in the lot next to the unit for $38 a day and it was great. However I would not stay here again. The door is paper thin and the club below is so loud it made for a rough nights’ sleep. I stayed here with my one year old and that was a mistake. This is a hard place to stay with a baby.
This is a very good and beautiful apartment with easy check in , the location is close to every thing u wanna do in Philly. The beds are so soft and clean, the AC is on point and the Wi-Fi is very fast . The living room is as described in the pictures with absolute comfort. I will recommend this apartment to any one who wanna visit Philadelphia in the future to book with this host and you will thank me later.

Pros: Very clean room with pretty large living room. I like the room layout. Many available devices including coffee machine, laundry machine and etc as described. Very quick response and problem solving ability from the host, very nice host. Cons: Dozen of stairs without elevator, will be hard to move big luggage case. Poor soundproof, can even hear the steps from the upper floor. BTW, there is a bar/nightclub downstairs very close.
Great location, very comfortable apartment and beds. Good Hot shower and washer and dryer a plus. Coffee was available. Clean. Only drawback would be the Hooka Bar which is open 10-2am Tuesday to Sunday downstairs! Monday they are closed. The noise could be heard from the apartment but quieter in bedroom and although you could still hear it, we had no trouble sleeping. Other than that great location and very comfortable place!

Long weekend We had a nice stay. The apartment is a nice size. Check in was easy with outside door code and code to get into the apartment. The apartment is in a nice location close to Reading market and lots of places to eat. The description of the apartment is accurate, so I would recommend reading it carefully. It is overtop of a night club which gets noisy on Friday and Saturday nights. I noticed not as loud on Sunday. I would guess this is true the rest of the week too. White noise maker in bedroom does help some. This was not an issue for us, but I was glad we were aware ahead of time. If you are bringing a car, the link in the description for Parking Hero was helpful for getting a spot overnight.

Simon was very quick with communicating. I appreciate him accommodating us in the last minute. It’s not a luxury unit, but it gets the job done by providing a clean place to sleep when in Philly.
This apartment is in the heart of Chinatown Philadelphia. It's a quick drive to the Camden amphitheater, and a 10 to 15 minute walk to Reading Market. The location is great, and the host was easy to get a response from. With that being said, this apartment is above a hookah lounge. Between that and one of the neighbors, this AirBnB is loud. If you are one of those people that can sleep through anything, then this might be worth your while for the location. If you're a light sleeper, I'd take that into consideration. Lastly, it looks like past visitors may have broken some of the furniture and fixtures (e.g., toilet paper dispenser, bathroom vanity, bedroom door, etc), and the repair was either neglected or poorly performed. All of that being said, I was in town for a concert and loved the location. It was easy to get to, had a working kitchen, a shower, and beds. For my purposes, this apartment worked.
Myself and a few friends stayed here for my birthday trip! The location was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to stay near the Reading Terminal Market as one of my favorite restaurants is in there and it was perfect for that! We also went to the Chinese lantern festival and it was right down the road! It was perfect. Some downsides, there’s a hookah bar downstairs that plays loud music until 2am so much so that you can feel the bass on the floor. We tend to stay up later so it wasn’t the end of the world, but something to keep in mind. Some things in the apartment also were broken. Didn’t really hinder us, but I.e. one of the bedroom doors appeared to be attached wrong leaving a gape when the door was closed. The toilet paper holder was broken. And the shampoo pump in the bathroom leaks into the bathtub, so be careful when getting in. We had a problem with the amount of towels delivered as well. There were only 2 for 4 guests, and since we had been traveling all day, we all wanted to shower and couldn’t.. We messaged and they brought some the next day, but it wasn’t ideal. All in all, it worked for what we wanted and the price was good for the location. Just some things to keep in mind 😊
