We enjoyed our stay immensley, central location, clean and roomy!!!!! Positive: We had an amazing time in Philidelphia and staying at the Ledger was key- it was literally near everything we wanted to see, a secure building that had secure parking which was a top prioroty for us. We didn't need to use our vehicle the entire stay! The loft unit we stayed in was clean, it was lovely place to be able to pop in and out of throughout the day, to have a full kitchen and washer/dryer combo in our unit saved lots of money as we were traveling with a baby. All in all we would stay there again in a heartbeat! Negative: We would have appreciated extra bath towels, paper towels, dish towels, blankets, and coffee pods during our 3 day stay. The conceirge were all very accomodating when we asked but we wished we wouldnt have had to ask for several items.
Great old building with modern amenities, fast to communicate. I might, however, choose a more residential area of nearby South Philly if you want a more authentic experience - otherwise in the old town you’re pretty much dealing exclusively with Liberty Bell tourists and the homeless population. I also think some of their comms are run by a bot - at one point I asked for information on parking and the next thing I knew the property was trying to charge me $60 for a valet I never asked for. Regardless, good value and clean space with a huge gym which I appreciated.

Find anywhere else if you hope to get sleep and value customer service Positive: The location and the size of the apartment were positive. Negative: Please don't stay here. What you don't find out until you stay is that there is a massive noise issue INSIDE the apartment. There are drainage pipes that run through the exposed ceiling, and they are so loud they wake you up. Every 15-20 minutes throughout the night, you will hear a loud metallic noise. You can't avoid it. They know it is an issue, and they provide you with earplugs. They may try to tell you it is due to city noise - it is not. You don't really hear the city. The issue is in the room. I tried to share a video to show how loud this was, but the site doesn't let me.

The property is well located in Philadelphia, making it convenient to explore the city. One downside was the parking offered by the host, which was quite expensive. Fortunately, there are several nearby parking options at much lower rates. A security deposit was also required at check-in. While I understand the purpose of the deposit, I believe the process could be improved. More than a week after checkout, I am still waiting for my refund. It would provide a much better guest experience if the deposit were refunded promptly once the post-checkout inspection has been completed and no issues have been found.

For two couples, this was cheaper than a hotel a and more convenient. Easy parking, near old city and independence hall. It was great!
Very disappointed with our stay. After a long day at the hospital visiting family, we arrived around 10:20 PM expecting at least a clean room to shower and sleep in. Instead, the first room was clearly uncleaned — used tissues, dirty towels, opened water bottles, leftover food, and an unmade bed. We were moved to a second room, which was also uncleaned. It took almost an hour before we finally received a clean room. What’s most upsetting is that no discount, reimbursement, or proper apology was offered, and we still have not heard from the host directly. Simply moving us from one dirty room to another is unacceptable.The only positive part of this experience was Sara at the front desk, who genuinely tried to help. We are seriously considering posting videos and pictures on Google Reviews because this should never happen to guests. We hope management addresses this situation properly and soon. Waiting to hear back to decide if should post to Google and other platforms due to poor exp.

It’s a lovely place apart from the two above mentioned complaints Positive: Everything was good Negative: The noise was really bad. The emeryfire alarm went off in the middle of the night but was a false alarm. Very disturbing to evacuate the room and be woken from sleep. The people in the room next door had a party going on till all hours with loud laughter and furniture or something crashing.
For a business trip made with family and friends, the space blended Center City-convenience with a guest experience that stood out in the area. Some highlights: large living space valet parking option (during a snowy season) about the same price as a garage lobby amenities (workspaces, vending & lounge, child area) across the street from the historic sites and museums walkable for places in Olde City, Washington Sq., Chinatown, South St.

Loved the place! the only issue we had was that we had requested 2 pack-n-plays and when we arrived there was only one. They replied very fast but since their team had already left we had to go to the front desk to check and luckily they did have an extra. Other than that it was great for the one night we stayed.
Great location, across the street from Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Above a Wawa for all of our food, snack and caffeine needs. Plenty of walkable attractions and Uber/Lyft drivers always in the area due to tourist attractions. Nice to have room to stretch out as opposed to being crammed into a hotel room. Lounge with pool table provided even more room and kept my teen boys occupied. Never used the gym, to tired from all the walking we did but it is even nicer than shown in listing. Our particular unit was situated such that there was some street noise - trucks and buses. White-noise machine and ear plugs provided more than did the trick, we all slept great. My kids are already talking about coming back next year for NYE.
First and last time. Positive: The location is good for exploring old city and central city. Negative: The units are poorly insulated so sound travels from unit to unit ( or hall ) loud shouting, loud music, street noise were a major issue.

Great location and facilities, but beware of noise and loud room neighbors late at night Positive: Great location, great facilities and very clear and well-kept rooms and apartments. Negative: This is a luxury rental building with people living in it. The walls in the apartment are thin and there's a lot of noise that comes from other apartments and the hallways. I stayed here 4 times due to its proximity to my office in Philly, and every single time I had trouble sleeping because people were being extremely loud in the hallways and other rooms late at night. In fact, they know about this problem and provide ear plugs for all guests as curtesy. They don't help much, though. Last night I was pretty much kept awake for at least an hour because of a couple that was having an extremely loud argument in the middle of the night and I could hear basically everything. I couldn't tell if they were in the floor above, below or same floor as me...
The location was amazing and Simon was super helpful. We will be back!
Amazing location but room was too cold. Positive: The location was amazing! We were only there for two days and thankful to be near so many places we could walk to. Negative: There was a significant issue with the heating. The draft from the window was so strong that no one could comfortably sit in the living area. I asked about a space heater or extra blankets and was told it would be checked, but I never received a follow-up. There were a few smaller issues we worked around—dirty dishes in the cabinet and a malfunctioning coffee machine—but the heating was the major concern. It was cold enough that we needed multiple layers to sleep, and although we were out most of the day, we couldn’t spend time in the living areas in the evening because it was too cold.

Beautiful building, great location, friendly staff and spacious, comfy room; 10/10, would stay again Positive: The building is beautiful and its grand history is referenced throughout and in the room. The reception area is lovely and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room had triple the space of an ordinary 2 queen hotel room for the same price, with the added bonus of a great location in a historic property. Negative: The only issue was the window in the room didn't shut completely letting cold air into the otherwise comfy room through a small crack. We only stayed one night and it was not an issue for us, and staff assured us it would be addressed before the next guest checked in.
Apartment was spotless and as described. Met all our needs. Perfect family accommodation in the heart of the tourist precinct.

Simons place was the perfect place for my friends and I to stay after attending a wedding at Union Trust. It was very clean and the perfect size. Check in and check out was very smooth and the location can’t be beat! Will definitely recommend to others and stay again!

The apartment is much bigger than the photographs indicate. We were pleasantly surprised. The location is very close to the historical sites in a very walkable neighborhood. The host was extremely responsive and dealt with any question we raised. Ability to park via valet is a plus at sn additional charge. My only comment would be to provide more utensils (there were only 2 forks) and a small knife. Also, be careful when entering as the door tends to slam shut. We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return in the future.

Excellent apartment in center of historic district. Positive: Great location as well as support and comms from property manager. Nicely set up apartment, very comfortable, had everything we needed. Would gladly stay again. Negative: Lobby is a bit dark could use some light, Cafe in lobby not operational, but the Wawa is right around the corner, so didn't really make a big difference.
An easy repeat choice for my next visit to Philly! Perfect location for exploring the area all day and coming home to a safe, comfortable space. The valet add-on service was such a nice addition.

La mezzanine est grande donc bénéficie d'une certaine intimité même quand des gens sont au dessous dans la cuisine ou le salon. La cuisine est bien équipée, la décoration très jolie avec des meubles de joli bois. Une machine lavante séchante très efficace. Les lits sont très confortables et l'emplacement exceptionnel! Juste en face du square historique. Negative: On entend des écoulements dans les tuyaux qui semblent être les toilettes des voisins. Ça fait un peu dégoûtant quand on y pense mais c'est un petit souci dont on peut faire abstraction. Le bruit n'est pas très fort. On aurait aimé avoir une salle d'eau en plus, mais à 3 une salle de bains était suffisante.
Negative: One of the windows didn't close all the way so a lot of street noise came in.
Great place to stay if you are looking for a airbnb that is centrally located. This location is only a 15 minute uber ride to the Xfinity Mobile Arena. The Valet service was very convenient and a nice amenity to have in the city. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone.

We had a great time. The loft was exactly what we expected. Positive: I liked the spacious living area. The proximity to all the attractions. Negative: Noise from the upstairs tenants. The pillows were very lumpy. The couch in the living room was old and sunken in, difficult to sit on.

Much better than a hotel - quiet and great location Positive: Great location -- quiet! which is always a trick in Philadelphia, but the bedroom in this unit was located far away from the window, and had a door as well. Negative: Kitchen could have been a bit better supplied, but the extra coffee pods were greatly appreciated
We enjoyed our stay and hope to be able to come back soon. The apartment is in the perfect location to walk to the historic sites and museums. We did not have an issue with outside noise but in the loft you did hear the AC vents go on/off at times. Not a big deal-just wasn't expecting it. The apartment appeared bigger to us then the photos and my daughter was excited to sleep in the loft! I had to reach out to Simon prior to booking and again during the trip and he was very helpful and quick to respond to all my questions. The area is also great for families with pets.

Location was perfect. We came primarily for historical sites and we were literally right across the street. Valet parking along the front of the building was such a blessing - quick and easy. It made going out to other parts of Philly so easy. Parking was tough in many places, like any city, so this was really appreciated. The place itself was great. The cleanliness of the floors, bathroom and kitchen stood out. Walking around barefoot showed almost no dust or dirt. The beds were comfortable. Shower was very nice. One bathroom is tough for two couples, but we made it work. The loft upstairs lacks some privacy, so be aware. But it was clean with lots of space. I’d stay here again but would see if a two bath was available if I was with another couple again.

It was a great stay in a historic and wonderfully located building in old city. Positive: The residence set up was wonderfully, the kitchen had everything we needed including a toaster! In the living room area, the couch and chair were spacious but not overly comfortable. The couch made sense, once I discovered it was a foldout couch. A nice surprise and sleeping option. But the matching chair may have been designed for a taller person. I am 5’4 and having to sit all the way back in it felt awkward. The leather chair looked comfortable and the work desk area was perfect for my husband who had to work on one of the days. The bed in the loft had a hard slightly raised section going down the right side of the bed so I slept on the edge of the bed after that to avoid it. It was spacious but they might want to check out that side. The bathroom was spacious and wonderful. The main floor bedroom where my parents slept was wonderful and we all enjoyed the washer/dryer.We also appreciated the extra towels they brought us. Negative: The parking/valet situation. I had to find a nearby parking garage to park my Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Hybrid. The first night we parked it several blocks away and walked 7 minutes back to the ledger( at 11pm)…because we thought we had to take it to an oversized car garage. We moved it the next day to the parking garage right around the corner on Sanson with a 6 foot clearance and it was just fine. Also be careful of the elevator doors…it closed on my elderly father and I and will hit your body. It was only happened when we had to cross over to the other set of doors instead of the ones we were standing in front of. We moved quickly after that.Despite both of those things we would stay there again…knowledge is power.

This was the perfect spot for my family to explore Old City! It was within walking distance of lots of restaurants and everything we wanted to see. The valet service was a great perk too. Simon was very responsive and helpful. We would absolutely stay there again!
This was an absolutely wonderful spot! The location was perfect! We used the valet to park and left our car for the whole trip. Valet was so easy. Apartment was beautiful…super clean…everything you could need! My kiddo thought it was the best place we ever stayed…felt like we treated ourselves! Highly recommend everything about this rental!

I would rate this a 3.5 rounded up to 4. Pros: location is incredible, across the street from Independence Hall. The building has a very nice group room and kids playroom which was nice for our kids. Simon was quickly responsive when we had questions about check-in and Wi-Fi. We personally did not have issues with any noise as other reviewers had commented, but we travel with our own white noise machines. The host did provide earplugs and a white noise machine. Cons: this place is more “worn“ than the photo show. Not terribly so, but things like scuffs and scratches everywhere. I would say 3.5/5 for cleanliness. Bathroom and sheets/towels seemed clean which are the most important to me. But the glassware was visibly smudged and our kids’ feet were quite dirty after walking around to barefoot for a while. Some trash mixed in the kids toys in the playroom. Note: 2nd floor apt, there is an elevator. No luggage rack available when we asked.

We recently stayed at the Ledger as a family of 4. I actually thought the space was even more roomy than the pictures made it look. I ultimately chose this location because of where it's located and the valet parking -as we needed a vehicle and to be able to come and go each day. This was awesome! It was so great to be able to just pull up to the front of the building and hand off our keys to someone else to park (especially with how tight many of the nearby garages are). The location is great- directly across many of the historical sites, and an easy walk for eating/shopping (including the Terminal Market). The only complaints I have would be that the furniture (mostly couch and mattresses) could use some upgrading. But overall I would definitely stay here again!

nice location, nice place, extra stuff like pool tables, gym etc were nice. does not cool down well though it was 77 degrees when we got there, turned on AC to 68. several hours later it got down to 74 but would not go cooler, had to open the window
Couldn’t ask for a better place and host! Side note: We left a small item in the unit by accident they immediately contacted us and were very diligent to make sure we got it back.

Simon's place was perfect for us for the week we spent in Philadelphia. The place was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The location was excellent, very walkable. We will likely stay again when we are up there visiting our daughter.
Wenn Sie es gerne auch im Winter drinnen kalt haben möchten, dann ist diese Unterkunft ideal! Positive: Das Loftappartement ist insgesamt gut ausgestattet und verfügt über alles notwendige. Allerdings weist das Appartement einige Gebrauchsspuren auf die mehr als üblich sind, so hat man z.B. plötzlich der Griff der Badezimmertür in der Hand usw. Die Lage ist innerhalb des alten Stadtzentrum hervorragend. Man ist zu Fuss schnell bei den wichtigsten Plätzen und zum Essen / Trinken muss man nicht weit gehen. Negative: Das Appartement war vom ersten Tag an so kalt, dass von uns dreien zwei Personen krank wurden. Als wir dann irgendwann einmal vom Personal zu Gesicht bekommen haben und diese Person informiert haben, hiess es, dass sie wüssten, dass bei ein paar Appartement die Heizung nicht ginge. Sie haben uns dann einen Heizlüfter zur Verfügung gestellt. Ein solches Vorgehen ist ein absolutes „No Go“ und wir werden diese Unterkunft nicht weiter empfehlen.
