disappointing Positive: Location and layout of the apt Negative: It was disappointing to arrive and find that there was only one bath towel and one wash cloth for the two of us and the two bathrooms. Also, the first few days were rather warm and the AC didn’t work in both bedrooms making it difficult to sleep. I allowed someone to enter apt to fix AC after contacting management, however, I arrived home to discover it had not been fixed and was not informed they were unsuccessful before the evening. And, the workmanship in the apt is very shoddy with warping and decay in both bathrooms, the shower knob fell off if you adjusted the temperature and the tiles in kitchen have several large gaps. The thinness of the walls make it very loud when neighbors go up and down the stairs. I asked if I would be compensated for the inconveniences and they said they would talk to management and get back to me as soon as possible twice. I still have not heard anything. The location is great and the layout of the apartment is lovely. The rest was disappointing.

This is one of my favorite Airbnbs. Such a cool building and the two apartments I have stayed in have both been great. I LOVE the big windows and all of the amenities. Everyone is so nice and helpful. Will be back

After a house fire I was hoping to have a restful clean and peaceful air bnb stay while I also recovered from surgery. What I got was anything but. We tired to make our long term stay here work as the trauma of the fire and moving over and over was tiring, eventually we had to cut our stay short due to many issues When we first entered we noticed the wear and tear of the furniture and dusty floors. My partner swept and found many types of hair and pet hair. I personally cleaned the ventless dryer out so the clothes were dry and found at least a pound of wet moldy lint. The dishwasher was covered in mold. And the air conditioners all were leaking or making loud sounds. Management was good at fixing the leaking air conditioner. Everything was a bit dirty. Worst of all we got bug bites starting the first week. They began to increase in number our third week when we determined they were BED BUGS. We found eveidence this has been a recurring problem as there were a few old dead ones.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is a historic high school building converted into large apartment units. This unit was beautiful and clean. Lots of amenities. Parking was a little tough, as well as finding the room, finding amenities, etc. The host provided instructions but honestly I didn't even find them until halfway through my stay. The portal was a bit confusing, I wish all the information was just in airbnb. One big complaint we had was the AC unit. It worked well and was a comfortable temperature, but was so loud in the bedroom it kept waking us up, as it turned on and off throughout the night. It was significantly louder than the sound of traffic outside or any fan or white noise. The bed was also not very comfortable, the sheets were stiff and the bed was too soft. Overall would recommend this unit for the price. It was very convenient to get public transportation into Philly, and we also enjoyed walking around the neighborhood. Check out Carbon Copy Brewery!

The space itself is beautiful and ideal for couples or a family who want to be together with space for privacy. However, there were a number of issues that outweighed how beautiful the space was. Broken coffee maker, stove that blew the circuit breaker when used, missing key fob that was never replaced, broken bedroom door, poor water pressure, and stains from smoking, were some of the key things that made the price not match. Those things should be addressed immediately.

We were snowed in here so having access to the building’s amenities was fantastic. The unit is advertised as having a fully stocked kitchen which was far from the truth. Overall a fine stay!

Excellent, roomy, clean, and affordable. If you’re staying in West Philly and want a big, clean place with amenities (gym!), this is a good choice. They are very responsive and always have someone watching the front entrance.

I enjoyed my stay at Simon’s apartment. It was welcoming and clean when we arrived. The building reception is so helpful and friendly. But note, if you have big feet or children, be extra careful on the stairs. The first flight of stairs are metal and have gaps at the back. Other than that it’s a great place to stay!!

I had problems with the heat from the beginning. I called daily to get it fixed. By the third day, I left early because I could no longer tolerate the cold. The shower water was limited and not a flowing stream but it was hot.

What a cool spot with plenty of room and very clean!

We ran into hiccups right away after the key fob was missing as we entered the apartment. Also the replacement key fob that was brought did not work, so we needed another key fob. Also the heating and air units were a hassle to get working. One thermostat had to be removed, and a replacement was never brought to us. Also, the water pressure in the showers was abysmal. The stairs are VERY hard under feet. We also were not supplied any extra pillows or blankets. I felt that this stay did not match the price we paid.

Place was fine. Safe, good location, amenities meeting expectations. I’m giving it 4 stars because the upstairs shower had very very low water pressure; basically a trickle, so it took three times as long to shower. The second bedroom on the first landing had very loud AC, so we had to sleep in the upstairs bedrooms.

Such a cool place. Beautiful loft, high ceilings. Comfortable beds and nice amenities. Would stay again :)

Fun and unique loft in an amazing building!

Simon was a fantastic host - communication was easy, and he responded quickly to any messages. When the television stopped working, he immediately replaced it, which I really appreciated. I’ll definitely stay at Sosuite at West Lofts again the next time I’m in Philadelphia.

It's ok for a night or two Positive: It's a unique housing location, an old high school transformed into a dwelling. I like that it was pet friendly, nice amenities such as a hangout space with pool table, games, books, etc., felt safe, and easy to navigate. I like that the room had a full kitchen, basic utensils and supplies, full refrigerator, and washer/dryer. Negative: There were a lot of rules presented after booking that I thought should have been more up front. The room was sufficient but damages were observed in various places. Starting with the indoor lock, the tv not working, chewed wood, loose lamps, handles, , and the air conditioner units dripping an insane amount of condensation water on the bedroom floors. One room had so much water that I slipped and fell on the first flight of stairs on my last day. I notified our contact upon arrival about the tv and damages and we waited a few hours for someone to come and take a look at everything which I thought should have been handled immediately.

Ninguém sabe responder nada, o apartamento estava sujo, todos os funcionários possuem o código e os antigos hóspedes também, do nada os funcionários entram no quarto. Em relaçao ao conforto, horrível! Como um exemplo, os quartos não possuem cortinas, na Filadélfia nesse período do ano só fica escuro às 9 da noite e fica claro às 5 da manhã. Mais numa coisa eles são bons, cobranças! Não param de fazer por um instante elas de forma errada e o tempo todo tem que ficar entrando em contato e pedindo para verificarem. Além disso, eles não corrigem, ou seja, você fica o tempo todo tendo que olhar a fatura do cartão e verificando os erros que eles cometem. Nunca mais volto para esse lugar! Negative: Nada. Nem da vizinhaça, poi não é um lugar seguro para famílias.

Spacious, comfortable and very clean Positive: kitchen was well organized and clean. excellent. bed perfect. Lots of power outlets. Great recreation hall. Negative: needed blinds on the window. Too much light in the morning.

My stay was good had lil problems but overall stay was great I would book again recommend staying

I paid for early check in. I was not able to check in early and was asked to wait. Upon entering the property there were clumps of dog hair everywhere. A kids juice box and toy box left. There was a large woman’s hair clip, a kids drawing, and muddy dog prints on the walls. The ac also did not work. The toilet seats were covered in black film. The shower floors were also dirty. I had to use disinfecting wipes to try my best and clean myself. I asked to be relocated to another property and they could not. The manager Lala apologized because the previous guest had stayed over 7 days which required a deep clean and it was not done. She said customer service approved my early check in when they were not supposed to. It was very clear that nothing was cleaned. It made me uneasy not knowing if the sheets were even changed. We paid over $900 to stay here for 2 nights and it was the worse decision I’ve made on air bnb.

The place was incredible and exactly what was depicted in the photos. The only downside about this place is the parking situation. Parking spots are limited and there was no clear instruction for someone out of town on where to park. Other than that, it was a great stay.

My stay was okay. If you’re just looking for a place to sleep for a few nights and don’t plan to spend much time inside, this spot might work. It’s conveniently located and West Philly is charming. That said, I wouldn’t recommend it for families—basic items like towels and washcloths were very limited, and the shower didn’t appear clean. No cleaning supplies were provided. The thermostats weren’t intuitive, and the bright lights from the split units made it hard to sleep. The bottom floor was cold and took hours to warm up. The water pressure was weak, the dryer was unreliable, and the internet and TV often didn’t work. Communication started with AI responses, which felt impersonal. The extra fees (cleaning, early check-in/out, pet) didn’t feel justified by the experience. I’d only stay here again with one other adult and only if we planned to be out most of the time.

Attention to Details Positive: They property was great. I had even left an entire laundry bag and was contacted. So Suite set up a pick up time. I was very impressed with the decor. Very Comfortable and quiet.

If I had to come to philly again I would consider staying again but I can’t guarantee I would. Positive: Communication was good and the location was convenient. Negative: The shower pressure was not adequate and the bathroom quite small. Consistent with the rest of the city, the hallways smelled like weed 50% of the time.

We were staying here with our dog, and had a great time. The space is very pet friendly with no carpets and easy to fall/break decor. The space is huge and our pup had a lot of fun going up and down the stairs. We were staying here during one of the coldest days of the year and due to the size of the space it was impossible to keep the living room warm enough . Luckily the bedrooms were warmer with one of them more so than the other. The check in process was very nicely explained and I had some issues with booking and they were super quick and helpful. The amenities space is great we had lots of fun playing table tennis. The dog park seemed great but due to the weather we didn’t get to use it as much. Overall this is a great Philly find!

We booked our stay at Simon’s during the holiday season to celebrate my partner’s birthday and to enjoy Christmas together. The space was perfect for our little family of 3! The unit was beautiful! We had always dreamt of staying in a loft so we were ecstatic when our booking was accepted! It had everything we needed to make the space feel like a home away from home. Location was perfect with a bunch of nearby restaurants in the area. And only a few minutes drive to the city. We drove here and had no issues finding parking at all! It’s definitely a stay that we’ll remember forever. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Not only was the loft beautiful, clean, and well-designed, the building was so great that we wanted to move there. Awesome neighbors and people around, 24/7 doorman. We love Philly and got a great sense of what it would be like to be a cool 20something or artist working in the area! My daughter loved the art in the halls and the friendliness. With a teenager it couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you, can't wait to come again!

Well worth the cost...

Really cool space, dog friendly, beautiful building, convenient location. Clean and comfortable beds. Check in easy. Dish washer was moldy as other reviews indicated, and there wasn’t enough plates/bowls - not a place to actually cook and eat meals.

Dishwasher had black mould. Brought to Simon's attention. He apologised. We requested a delayed check out....he refused. We had to leave the unit and wait in lounge.

Es un lugar bastante bonito, sin duda pasarás muy buen rato, no es una zona muy segura al anochecer, a un bloque todo el entorno cambia. Es muy difícil encontrar estacionamiento después de las 5 pm Quizá te toca estacionarte a unos bloques de distancia, la parte del check In es buena, Sin embargo si llegas por la tarde No hay un lugar especial para bajar tus cosas, Sonder nos dio una llave para el edificio, la cual desde el primer día no funcionó, sin el mínimo intento de ayudarnos a cambiarla, es un edificio con muchísimos departamentos.

The Air B&B was as shown and more! Great amenities to include a common area with games, a workout room that my son really appreciated, rooftop outdoor lounge with great views of the sun rise/set and the concierge at the front was always helpful from check-in to check-out. The location was fantastic as well with train access very nearby, walkable neighborhood and very nearby UPenn & Drexel. We had one issue with an air conditioning unit but emailed then called the host contact and they were quick to respond and help fix the problem w clear over the phone instructions. We will definitely be back. Thank you for making our stay in Phili so easy!

Good basic accommodations.

This is a great place to stay. We’ve stayed 4 or 5 times. Always had a different place and all of the were clean and comfortable. I will have to be careful in the future to avoid a place where all bedrooms are upstairs. Cost this time was pretty high due to graduations at U Penn and Drexel. All other stats were very reasonable. Simon is always very responsive when I have questions.

Great place, super clean and beautiful. Big windows, everything is clean and here are some complementary items. Absolutely beautiful apartment with high ceilings. The AC however was working weirdly and the water pressure was weak but overall definitely a good stay, worth the money

Great service. I really my stay

This is a very comfortable apartment in a beautiful building in a lovely neighborhood. You need to go up about 15/20 steps to get into the building. No key to access the building is provided, even though all instructions say it is. There is no way to communicate with the doorman from the outside and he is not always at the front desk. Because of this we had to rely on other residents letting us in. This didn’t feel safe and even had us standing in the rain waiting. We were told repeatedly that a key fob would be delivered and asked, as instructed, at the front desk multiple times. Every time the owner providing a different excuse for it not being provided. Ultimately, the doorman told us they do this to every guest, and they never bring a fob. Mistakes happen. I can understand needing to drop the fob off to us. But the dishonesty and manipulation, and safety and convenience issue this caused were too much. The dishwasher is moldy. If these points were addressed, it would be lovely

Really cool, spacious loft. Suprisingly more affordable (and I think bigger) than other nearby stays. Lots of great breakfast nearby. I would definitely come back again.

Relaxing and comfy. Positive: The SoSuite staff worked quickly and efficiently to resolve my check-in issue. It was super easy to check in early as well as schedule a late checkout that I took full advantage of. The location is the old West Philadelphia High School building in a relatively quiet and one of the safer neighborhoods very close to many attractions and pebbles throw from University City and Powelton Village. The accomdations were very comfortable with a great view of the city below. I highly recommend and look forward to booking with Sosuite in the near future. Negative: Nothing, everything was pretty good. I left with no complaints.

Booked because of the location. My unit was given to someone else and took 3 hrs to get into a new unit (sent me across town, back, wrong codes, no key fob). Simon was troubleshooting, but had patronizing responses. Unit was superficially clean but had major dust around, stains, moldy dishwasher, fridge seal loose, etc. I was probably given a unit not ready for rental. If you are a light sleeper, there is a lot of eco and you can hear others in your unit (doors have an inch gap at bottom). The temperature reading on heaters in bedroom is so bright you can read a book, and no curtains bring more light in. Water pressure is a bit low, old building. Intermittent internet was annoying. They compensate with coffee machine, coffee, sugar, tea, creamer, toiletries, dishwashing liquid, hand soap, etc. Was nice to find those. Building is nice, the loft has potential, but it is not quite there - just OK.

I stayed here for a week and a half. The owner nicely cooperated to extend my stay so I could care for family. This property is in a building with really nice amenities and security including in-room washer/dryer, a kitchen, gym and common room. It worked out great for me and I'd come back. However, there were a couple areas for improvement or to be aware of depending on your preferences. There's only street parking, which can be hard to find. About half of the gym equipment I tried didn't work (none of the recumbent bikes!) The kitchen cabinets and the bathroom and kitchen floors were NOT clean. I did it myself and was fine but that may not work for you. Also, there had evidently been a cat who was allowed there--I found hair in the drawers, under the sofa, etc and since I have severe cat allergies, I suffered. Finally, the kitchen wasn't well-equipped, such as no toaster and only 2 water glasses. Overall a solid B.

The space is great and the communication as well. We didn’t have a key fob as expected but the door man was there to let us in at all hours. The space has a lot of stains on the walls and the bathroom walls hd some water damage. But otherwise a great place with a great view.

Great space ! Felt safe with someone at the door , they were helpful . I was alittle confused at first arrival the address took me to the side of building where there was a fence , the entrance is actually on 47th street . But once I figured that out it was smooth.

Fabulous space — need to be able to navigate stairs — but extremely clean and comfortable and very cool. Everyone at the building is lovely. Incredibly pet friendly too. If you come by car, parking is a major challenge. And like all of Philly, be aware of your surroundings. But fabulous accommodations. Exceeded expectations.

Comfortable place, if you are not a pet lover this isn’t the place for you. The apartment is clean, however outside of the building the dogs pee and use their bowels so you have to watch where you walk. He has no control over that because it’s an apartment building.

The place was nice I didn’t like that they asked for a deposit after I booked on air bnb I think they should let people know. Also the key fob wasn’t inside the home so it was very inconvenient but the place was nice . It’s a very good place if you like animals lol

This place was conveniently located within walking distance to the subway station which is ideal for seeing the city. The unit had a very spacious living area and a good kitchen set up for cooking (although we didn't use). The washrooms were clean and perfect for our stay.

Great apartment in West Philly! Very close to the 46th street train and close by The Mann. Had an issue with the AC in one of the bedrooms, the host was very responsive and sent someone to fix it. Would stay again. Building is really cool.

This was the nicest Airbnb I've ever stayed in. The pictures did not do justice to how great the place was. Everything was very clean. There were lots of towels. The soap was extra special. The air conditioning was divine. I loved it. In addition, Simon was excellent at communicating. On previous stays to Philadelphia I had a terrible time parking but this neighborhood had sufficient street parking. When I arrived and walked around I was a little concerned that the neighborhood seemed dangerous. On subsequent days I walked streets that were clearly being gentrified. I found it fascinating to look at the architecture and private gardens. There were several places to eat and three great cafés nearby. This was my fifth stay in Philadelphia and it was by far the most agreable due to the airbnb.

Never lived in an old school before and it is very cool… exactly as described/photographed, good amenities, apartment is spacious and has all equipments needed, close to bus stops and not a hard walk to subway, host was very friendly and responsive. Great place to stay!

Overall solid stay. Would stay again. Few attention to detail things missing but other than that it was really good.

The check in process was difficult because we came in on late flights and the guard wasn't there. We had to wait for a tenant to open building door to get to room that had key fob. The parking is terrible. Used to be a school and now you have tenants in this building and the building across the street fighting for parking. When we checked in all looked good until my dad went upstairs to the room and stepped into a pool of water, slipping and falling onto the bed that was luckily there. The AC unit reservoir had spilled into the walls and the floor. The company sent maintenance who dumped it and said that it shouldn't be a problem. 2 hrs later huge puddle on the floor. Attempt now was to move us to the next room, it's filthy; Only had one option to move us to temp room and then move back after fix because they were booked. Huge inconvenience and shows the units weren't ready for our week stay. Watch your head by couch. Small credit was given but not enough for the horrible experience.

We rented a very large two-bedroom loft suite. The apartment was very well finished and decorated, with good amenities. The high ceiling and spaciousness made it very comfortable for 3 people. Simon was very communicative, with friendly and clear instructions & advice. We were able to find on-street parking spots fairly easily as required. It was just a short drive to UPenn and Center City, and it is a walkable distance to the western edge of UPenn and the restaurants & shops in that neighborhood. Overall, we had a great long-weekend visit to Philly.

It was the perfect location and close to what we were doing. Very walkable. Beautiful old building.

it was fine. not the best, not the worst. Positive: we liked the keyless entry and the beds were really comfy. Negative: the place was dirty (like under couch cushions) and there were no spare blankets or extra towels. we also booked three beds but due to some error we weren’t made aware of we ended up with two beds.

We had a great time at Simon's house. The location was peaceful and convenient. The apartment was a perfect size for 3 people and we have so much space to hang out in the house as this was our family visit. Simon was very responsive and friendly. We will come back again if we want to visit Philadelphia.

We enjoyed a lovely stay. There was a bit of confusion at first over the address, the one associated with the listing was actually the office address. Once we got to the right location we were very satisfied.
