Perfect for our needs and plan to come again. Positive: Secluded property, that was dog friendly for a hiking weekend. Negative: The backyard slopes downward towards firepit, fine for us but could see and older couple wishing was closer
Red cottage was nothing short of incredible! If you are looking for peace and quiet and a place to escape into the the tranquility of the mountains.. this is it! There’s plenty of locations within 15-20 minutes driving to get food and drinks. Plenty of local hiking trails within 20-30 minutes driving. Over all the cabin was amazing with plenty of nature surrounding you. Inside the cabin was extremely comfortable and more than enough to keep you occupied when you’re at the cabin enjoying the evening. The backyard with a deck and smoker were also a staple for dinner and a bonfire to relax. The red cottage hosts are very proactive and ensure that you have all you need from the minute you check in to the time you check out. They also provide a list of local places for food, outdoor activities, and for the adults a place to get adult beverages. 10/10 recommend! And I’m already planning my next trip up to visit this beautiful place again!
Absolutely lovely cabin! Private and well-appointed. We stayed for nearly a month and were quite sad to pack up and leave at the end. Hosts were responsive and attentive.

We loved our stay at the cabin. The place was spotlessly clean when we arrived. The property is beautiful and peaceful. You are in a very private setting yet close to shops, restaurants, markets and, most importantly, some of the best fly fishing in the country!
We had a peaceful and enjoyable stay for the weekend with beautiful surroundings, while Derek’s home provided a comfortable base to stay. Certainly recommended if you’re looking to stay in the area.
