This was our second time to stay at Rolf’s Retreat! Quaint and cozy! Everything worked that we used. There have been some upgrades. We reported that both shower faucets drip throughout the day and night. On the beach (sand path to the beach). The location is away from the crowds! Sunsets are beautiful. Great back porch/deck that needs some TLC. Already looking forward to next year! Guests in the second king bedroom requests that a ceiling fan be installed!

This was our 2nd trip to this stretch of beach on Gulf Shores, ~ 1/2 mile down from the 1st stay in 2023. There were 9 of us. 6 adults, kids of 18, 15, 11. The master bedroom is very large. The other king bedroom is good. the other two bedrooms are small but functional. This locations was IDEAL! No crowds of people and the distance from back door to the ocean was maybe 100 yards. The house is all one level - a great plus! The house is dated and well worn, but for a 3 day beach getaway we really had no complaints on what it did not have. The decor colors are vibrant and fun. the Outside Shower and wash hose connections were very handy and we used them often. Parking is great, easily handle 4 cars. We enjoyed meals at the famous "Hangout" and also at DeSoto's Seafood Kitchen in town. the local Walmart Superstore is where we went day 1 to load up on food and supplies for the stay. Communications with the host company were excellent.

This rental was even better than expected. House was great. Comfy beds. Steps to the ocean. Will definitely be staying here again.

overall it was a nice place but a bit outdated. It was an older unit but was very clean. I thought for the price we paid, we could have done much better.

We love Rolf's, we have been multiple years in a row and it is always a good time. The house set up is great and the shade/sun deck can't be beat.

Rental was great, the porch is awesome! We had a small issue, but Michael was very helpful and kept us informed all the way.

Good location for a family reunion trip. Beachfront porch is our favorite part. Bathrooms could use an update. There is NO pantry. They have several cabinets/closets locked so all of our stuff was on the counter. Beds were comfy. Overall good spot and we will stay here again.

We love Rolf's Retreat. It's our annual beach trip spot for Gulf Shores. The location is perfect, not too busy, close to all the attractions and stores. House is a perfect beach house, not scared to get sandy but also well kept. Bring groceries and extra toilet paper. The beach is beautiful!

We have booked at Rolfs since as early as 2014 and our last stay was in October 2024. In the last 5 years, we have stayed there at least twice a year. It is a great place to stay for vacations with girlfriends and with family. We love the back steps, being able to walk right to the beach. The covered porch, for early coffee, and the open porch if we want to stay at the house, versus the beach (which is rare)! The kitchen is fully outfitted for all cooking needs, pots, pans and utensils. If you don't feel like cooking there are many places to easily order from or go to, depending on what you enjoy doing. You have all what you need at the house and beach for a perfect vacation each time.

Our annual girls (7) trip was awesome! We were thrilled with the house! We spent lots of time on the deck - when we weren’t by the water. We’d definitely stay again!

Perfect house for our annual Girls Trip! We decided on Rolf’s Retreat because of the back deck & it was absolute perfection! We enjoyed morning coffee & meals & drinks on the deck & spent the days on the beach. Management team was awesome & so quick to help out when the blender quit - and the blender is our best friend on these trips! Lol. The only issue was the fact that the bedroom TVs weren’t smart TVs - so we weren’t able to stream shows, but not a reason we wouldn’t book the house again! We look forward to returning to Rolf’s Retreat!! Thanks for a great week!

Perfect fit for our family of 6. Beach access was a 10 yard walk over the dune. Beach not at all crowded. The home met our expectations. Communication with the hosts could not have been better. The air conditioning unit could not keep up. Temperature reached 83 inside during the heat of the day. Looked to be an older heat pump unit that could use replacing. It did cool to 72 overnight.

We travel to G.S. each year for a family trip with Aunts and Uncles. The back deck being shaded was a great feature for the older adults. The close walk through the sand to the water was also a plus. We did book in July and struggled to keep the house cool. I don't know if it's an undersized unit or too much heat outside. We had too use box fans to make it through the night. Overall the family loved the house but unless the AC is addressed, we will find another location.

Rolf’s Retreat lived up to our expectations in every way! Great location - just steps from the ocean- spacious well stocked kitchen - wonderful family beach week - will def be returning - (only thing missing is garbage disposal in kitchen)

Great location. It seemed like we had a semi-private beach! Could sit on the back deck all day. Family friendly set-up with large central seating area and plenty of seating on the back deck. The other reviews were very helpful in providing details on extra things to bring - dish towels, extra cleaning supplies, etc. Kitchen was well equipped! Would definitely come back!

We love this home for our yearly beach vacation. The patio is the star with the option to stay in the shade or enjoy the sun. It's steps to the beach and the views are amazing. We had A/C issues this go round but the owners were quick to respond. Overall a lovely home, well stocked and the perfect little beach house.

The porch, location and distance to the beach are awesome. The oven didn't work, wasted food trying to use. The main bedroom sliding doors were very difficult to open.

Property was everything it was described as-no surprises. House was very clean & comfortable. The back deck area was great!(35 steps to beach after coming off the deck.) I definitely would recommend Rolf's Retreat to family & friends.

My whole family loved Rolf's Retreat. It had the best beach access. The rooms are spacious, furniture is comfortable, porch is huge, wifi works great, kitchen is well-stocked, and everything was clean. Get a grocery delivery and be beach bums!

We were very pleased with the style and proximity to the water! Would definitely return!

We had a wonderful stay! It was great to have the beach right there, and we absolutely loved the big deck. The place was very clean and well kept. There were a couple of things that could use updating/replacement, such as the lamp with electrical tape in the one bedroom and the grill, which was unusable, but they were small things that didn’t really bother us. Our kids loved playing football on the beach, and we liked that we were close enough to drive to a variety of restaurants. We would definitely recommend this place to others.

This cottage on the beach was just what was needed. I would recommend sheets with deeper pockets as they came undone each time; and supply some coffee filters and a dishcloth.

The beach is beautiful, a few oil rigs to the far right but they aren't in direct view. The sun and shade patio are the best. Perfect for sunning or staying outside without getting burned. I would recommend this house to anyone, and we plan to stay again next year.

This rental was clean, convenient and a wonderful place to stay!!

We loved our stay at this place. The little house can use some love but nothing so bad as to keep us from returning. The beds were very comfortable which is a big thing for us. The kitchen was very well stocked and the furniture although a little worn was comfy. The decks outside were great. You're just steps to the beach. The location of this house is awesome. You're away from the busy traffic and it is very nice and quite. I can't say enough about the coastal view team. They were awesome. From the initial reservation to the time of checkout, they were great! I would definitely recommend this little house!

This was our first time reserving a home instead of a condo. I absolutely loved it! It was comfortable, private, cozy. My teens would have preferred a little closer to the night life lol but us adults loved it. The drive to stores or food was convenient. The walk to the beach was very easy for my mother who has oxygen. The only issue we had was there were no flags flying to indicate how the waters were. The view was spectacular. The deck was very enjoyable, the swing and grill area was also refreshing. We loved it.

This house was perfect for my family. We loved the location, minutes away from shops, however we never wanted to leave. It was incredible to be able to step off the back patio right onto the sand. It was like we had our own private beach. The house had everything we needed. Beds were so comfortable! And when we asked to stay an extra night, the management company was very accommodating & easy to work with! We will absolutely be back!

We had an amazing time. Loved being able to be right in the beach. My grandson loves being able to walk out there and fish. The home was very spacious and suited our family perfectly. The back deck was both sunny/shady. My mother could relax and not have to worry about getting sunburn.
