Didn’t think it was possible, but this Airbnb looks even better in person than on the photos.
The place sits on a lot of land so it’s private and peaceful. No light pollution and excellent star gazing. We brought a telescope there. It’s such a gorgeous house we could just stay there the whole time. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking.
Love how many bathrooms and bedrooms there are. Great for a getaway with friends without losing the privacy. Some friends didn’t like the firm beds but I loved it. I can imagine how pretty this must be in the summer. All the glass windows really make this an architectural wonder. Unsure if it will get too hot in the summer with all the glass though.

Amazing stay! This place has warm energy. I was a little nervous going up the driveway, as it is secluded for us Nj/ New Yorkers BUT the house was so cozy that we felt secure, safe and had the absolute best time.
We went ice skating nearby and also went to Woodstock which was so cute! Perfect house for multiple couples or friends.

This house checks every box got a dream getaway to beautiful Woodstock. You couldn’t be in a more private location with no neighbors and scenic views, but still 10 minutes to great restaurants, bars and shops. We were a bit disappointed that the fireplace didn’t work but we made do with lots of wood outside for a natural fire. It was the perfect location to host 4 couples and we would do it again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend watching the architectural digest video too.

We were totally blown away by Rock n House! We loved every inch of this exceptionally designed space and spent our time finding new things to marvel at. The house is so cool and unique and you feel so connected to nature with floor to ceiling windows everywhere and views in every room. We fell in love with the massive boulder around which the house was built, it almost felt like a living breathing being as it appeared to transform in every kind of light. There is so much more to say but the house really needs to be experienced to be truly appreciated. We are grateful that the owners have decided to share their incredible home so that others could enjoy it!
We were were a family of 8 -- 2 grandparents and two families with three toddlers who felt very comfortable at Rock 'n' House. The house itself is beautiful and consistent with what is pictured. For families with young children, would definitely recommend finding something to fence off the otherwise floating stairs (a parent in our group did this -- it was very necessary). The family area in the main room is great for hanging out with kids and families. Great restaurant options in Woodstock are just a 10-minute drive away. Red Cottage themselves were very responsive to us, triaging any issues we found with our stay quickly. Would return!
Came up solo from the city for a four day trip. Wanted to get some writing done and just relax. It was actually kinda perfect for that. Beautiful home. Simple, and well made. Very clean also, and the views from every window was amazing.
Downside was that the house was too hot. They were quick to bring out the maintenance guy to adjust the thermostat, but it didn't work well. First two days the temp was between 88-93 around the clock. Eventually I had to open all the windows. There was also no hot water. Description will say that the hot water runs out quickly, but that wasn't really the case. The water ran on two temps, cold, and freezing cold.
That's the truth of the place, but honestly, the house was so beautiful and peaceful that those two things were not a huge inconvenience. I would stay there again. Perhaps because I did my booking the day of, they did not have time to prepare. I'll leave room for that possibility.
The home is so well appointed. We ended up canceling our Stissing House reservation to cook a second meal at the house - it’s like George Jetson’s cabin!

Beautiful place — but heating and cooling is very random (was very hot the whole time and was difficult to be in the living room too long) and no ability to control despite us changing the temperature on the thermostat. Check in and check out times were also very rigid and ungenerous.
The house itself is wonderful and the surroundings are very peaceful.

This is a beautiful and thoughtfully designed house — full of character, natural light, and cozy corners. Every spot is photogenic; the kind of place where you’ll end up taking photos for Ins and everyone will ask you for the link!
The neighborhood is lovely too — peaceful, with nice woods nearby that make for a relaxing walk.
If a few small details were taken care of (like dust on some lightbulbs and a bit more attention to cleaning), it would be absolutely perfect. But overall, I’d highly recommend this stay.

A pity check in is at 4 and check out at 10. Even when there is no one before and after and the cleaning does not show up at 10.

We just returned from a wonderful stay at Red Cottage and we can’t recommend it enough! This unique escape is truly a gem. The moment we walked in, we were captivated by the stunning views that surrounded us. The architecture is both stylish and functional, providing a perfect blend of comfort and elegance.
The house was immaculate and had all the amenities we could ask for. The open-concept living space was ideal for relaxing and enjoying quality time together.
The location is fantastic too! We were close to everything, making it easy to explore the beautiful surroundings.

This has got to be the absolute best airbnb I’ve stayed at, if you consider yourself an architecture nerd then trust me this place is a complete masterpiece. you simply cannot miss seeing with your own eyes
We all had a great time. The house was beautiful and we had fun in Saugeties and Woodstock. We wish it had a working fireplace and the only issue was the cold shower in one of the downstair’s bathroom.
What an incredible place. We were in awe of this house's architecture, design details, and craftsmanship. Sitting in the sunken lounge looking at that boulder is something we couldn't get enough of and won't soon forget. The house had everything we needed. It was comfortable and full of thoughtful and expertly crafted furnishings. It's truly something that we will share with others and hopefully return in the future.
Stunning house from the outside and inside - could not take enough pictures. Really impressed with the design and thoughtful touches throughout the space and highly recommend staying here.
Only drawback was getting used to how exposed you are in a glass house (especially at night given that you are in a secluded area without a security alarm system). More curtains would have certainly helped, but it would potentially affect the overall aesthetic.
All in all, a beautiful experience and extremely responsive hosts.
This house is beautiful. A pleasure to be in. Amenities are well appointed, and everything you need in the kitchen. Pillows and beds not the most comfortable I’ve had, and I wasn’t expecting to need to stagger showers for hot water availability, also a bit paranoid of all the house rules, and maybe check in and check out times could have been a little more generous. But it really was lovely and I’m glad we went.

Loved every aspect of it!! The architecture and design were phenomenal! We enjoyed all the natural light coming in during the day and the surprise features of the house like the upper level bathroom window into the living room. The placement of the Corbusier lounge under the skylight was genius. Throughout different times of the day, the sun revolves around the boulder and there's an organic sound bath of the nature outside...so healing! We had some rain come down and the design of the funneling roof around the rock created a waterfall. It's definitely a house perfect for a getaway from the city to reset and recharge.
The hosts were super responsive when we needed help finding a couple items.
There was also the convenience of having an EV charger right outside the property!
We enjoyed our stay. We were all well communicated with red cottage during our stay.
The stove was a challenge. I recommend a standard coffee maker.
You have a wasp nest in the soccer field area.

The house is super clean and beautiful. We have 7 people and we had great time! They have the grill and cozy decorating lights, which makes our stay really fun. The manual mentioned that the hot water is limited. We tried to shower at different times and that’s fine. Only one thing need to mention is that one of the room has really beautiful and tall windows. It’s great for the view but might be too bright in the morning.
Red Cottage is really responsive and gave us derailed manual. We asked whether they have a fire starter for the grill and they delivered it to us after our check in .
The experience is very nice in general!

I can honestly say that it was an honor to stay at the rock n house. If you do book this house, make sure to watch the video the architect made for the house for architectural digest because it’ll make you appreciate the house even more!!! The amount of detail and thought he put into making this house made us respect it that much more. It had everything we needed, it was cozy and beautiful, clean, organized, uncluttered, the view was gorgeous. We absolutely loved it and would love to stay there again in the future.
