About this property

Pond Hollow is a charming knotty pine cabin on a private pond in Moretown, Vermont. Sleeping six across three bedrooms (queen, full, and a bunk room with a single top bunk, full bottom bunk, and a pull out sofa) and 1.5 baths, this cozy retreat features a spacious lawn, fire pit, and deck with grill for outdoor evenings. Quiet, serene surroundings put you close to skiing, hiking, and Vermont's best small towns year round.
Nearby towns: Waitsfield (15 mins), Warren (20 mins), Stowe (30 mins).

Pond Hollow sits beside a private pond in the quiet hills of Moretown, Vermont, offering a true Vermont escape just minutes from world class skiing at Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, and Stowe. A pellet stove, cozy seating areas, and large windows set the tone at this home built for relaxing after a day on the mountain, hiking, biking, or skiing.

The cabin comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests across three bedrooms. On the main floor, one bedroom features a queen bed and a second offers a full bed, both just steps from the living area and the shared full bathroom. Downstairs, a third bedroom is outfitted with a bunk bed, full on the bottom and twin on top, plus a pull out couch, ideal for kids, extra guests, or a getaway with the whole crew. A convenient half bath on this floor rounds out the layout.

Step outside and Pond Hollow truly shines. Spend the day relaxing on the deck or next to the pond. The expansive lawn gives plenty of room to play, while the fire pit and deck, complete with a grill, set the stage for evenings under the stars. Surrounded by mature trees and rolling Vermont countryside, the setting is quiet and serene, the kind of place where the loudest sound is the breeze through the pines.

Moretown sits in the heart of the Mad River Valley, minutes from Sugarbush and Mount Ellen, Mad River Glen, and within easy reach of Stowe, making Pond Hollow an ideal home base for skiers and riders in the winter and hikers, paddlers, and leaf peepers the rest of the year. Whether you are planning a ski weekend, a summer pond day, or a fall foliage retreat, Pond Hollow delivers the classic Vermont experience guests come back for.

The area

Pond Hollow sits in Vermont's scenic Mad River Valley, a quiet corner of the state beloved for its mountains, rivers, and small town charm. Skiers and riders are just 20 minutes from Sugarbush Resort and Mad River Glen, while Stowe Mountain Resort is about 35 minutes north for a change of scenery. In warmer months, the Mad River offers swimming holes, tubing, and fly fishing, and Camel's Hump State Park has some of the best hiking and views in central Vermont. Nearby Waitsfield and Warren Village offer farm-to-table restaurants, breweries, and boutique shops, while Montpelier, the nation's smallest state capital, is just 25 minutes away with its own mix of cafes, galleries, and the Vermont Farmers Market. Cold Hollow Cider Mill and the Ben & Jerry's factory near Waterbury make for an easy day trip too. However you spend your days, this corner of the Mad River Valley delivers the quiet, four season Vermont experience guests keep coming back for.

Pond Hollow is just 3 hours from Boston and guests should plan to travel around by car as it is a rural area with limited public transportation. The main access routes are the I-89 S, I-93 S and Vermont Rte 100 S. We strongly recommend a 4x4 or a car with four-wheel drive, especially in winter, to handle snow and gravel roads.

Notes from your host

The pond is not for swimming in. Do not enter the pond.

The home has no air conditioning, but there are ceiling fans in all bedrooms.
