Nice little spot, comfortable for you and your SO to stay at and enjoy each other’s company. Kitchen has everything you need if you want to make a meal as well. They are always readily available to help upon request, great service.

Unfortunately had a really bad experience with this booking, and had to cancel and ask for a refund a day after arriving. First, an hour before arriving we were told that we had to provide our car description and license plate number, pay immediately for the parking fee and follow the parking indications, otherwise our car would be towed at our expense. However, the instructions were telling us to park near the fence, next to a red vehicule. There were no red vehicule when we arrived, which made it confusing and a bit stressful. In the appartment itself, there was a sign on a fridge indicating that the fridge was broken (this was not communicated to us prior) and a small beer fridge was installed in the bedroom. The fridge is super small and doesn't hold any groceries you might need for your stay. The walls are paper thin, and we could hear everything that was happening in the neighborhood. But the last straw was the shower, which had no hot water running. We told the owners first thing in the morning, and didn't hear back from them for 4 hours. We were then referred to their maintenance team, who bounced us from one agent to another, all saying that they would send someone over during the day to try and fix it. No one came. We called and wrote the owners multiple times between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM, and nothing was done about it. The next morning we called maintenance again, advising them that we would cancel our booking if this situation wasn't fixed today. They finally sent someone over eventually, who took a quick look at the shower and simply said that they didn't understand why there wasn't any hot water coming out. We then proceeded to cancel our reservation, and go to a hotel. I also want to point out that there was very poor communication from the owners, who kept on sending automated messages all throughout this saga. The unit also had a few safety issues, for exemple : a step in missing on the front porch created a huge gap as you go up the stairs. Electrical outlets were sticking out of the wall, with wires exposed, therefore we would get electrical shocks every time we plugged something in. It is very unfortunate as this appartement's location was amazing and very central, but it was a disappointment from the get-go for us.

Okay experience and great communication. We recommend you bring some kind of sleep mask since the blinds aren’t the thickest and warm clothes and slippers if you are planning to come during the winter time. The airbnb is well located.

Had a excellent experience. The unit is clean and I’m located right downtown. Given the price being as affordable as it was it is one of my top choice for a future stay. Thanks

In summary, this place was a disappointment to us. I will share a few of the pros and cons to the unit. Cons: The step to the porch by the unit door was entirely removed, resulting in a big gap between the parking and deck. Anyone with mobility issues can use the second step on the other side, but this should have been blocked off and just looked unappealing. The unit is not warm. Drafts were coming in the doorway. The doorway opens into the ktichen. My feet did not stay warm standing on the kitchen floor unless I was wearing shoes inside. Two thick socks were not enough to make the floor bearable, it was that cold! We moved the dining table to the hallway because there was no way we could sit in the kitchen because of the cold. An Ottawa winter regularly has nights that are -20 or colder so if you are going to rent in the winter, I don't recommend this place until this is addressed. We did try to address this right away on the first night. We requested rugs for the floor. Response took some time (about four hours) and then management said they would send some rugs over as well as a space heater the next day, "if they had one." We stayed three nights and they didn't bring anything to address the cold. We wondered what would have happened if there had been a more serious issue! Management brought over more bowls when we asked as there was only one. Kudos for that. One more con: the shower handle fell off when using it! Each time we showered it fell off at least once. This is an easy fix for anyone with tools, but just showed again that the place wasn't up to standard for guests. We asked for it to be fixed and they asked if we gave permission to have someone come in and fix it. We said yes, but it didn't happen during our stay. We also found out that the parking has been an issue as the parking directions are not clear. There are four spots, and one is a neighbour's space. The parking instructions said to park by a particular vehicle that wasn't there! The neighbour expressed frustration that twice a month guests are parking in his spot. We suggested clearer instructions... it seems the spot by the shed is the one not to use, and the other three are available. Hopefully no one else will have this problem again. The window curtains were stained with yellow spots and it just did not look appealing. Finally, the pros: the unit has a fantastic location very close to all the shops and restaurants of Byward Market, and easy access all over the city and to Gatineau if you have a car. We loved being able to pop over and get some snacks and food when we wanted, and do some window shopping, after only a five minute walk! It is very close to Parliament as well if you are up for the short walk. It was easy to get in the highway and head out around the city. The bed was very comfortable. The unit smelled nice and clean when we entered. Door lock gave easy access and made locking up easy too. The kitchen was well stocked after they brought us over some bowls we asked for. We had everything we needed to cook. There was also two of everything so we could eat, microwave, kettle, oven and cleaning supplies, all there. It would be a cute little place if fixed up a bit.

A room perfect for couples, highly recommended as well as great location.

Great place for solo or duo stays. Great location, close to the byward and downtown for easy access to attractions.
