New & Modern Basement Suite — Guest Reviews

Meeting the owner and his mother was a highlight of our stay. They are such nice people. Positive: The property was very beautiful and we felt like our unit was a home. It felt good to be staying here. The owner has put a lot of effort into making everything so perfect. The owner happened to be around when we arrived and he was so kind. As friends had dropped us off at the suite, we did not have use of a car, so he offered to take us to the grocery store and waited to drive us back. The property manager is very accessible and so friendly.

Incorrect address, far from the advertised one. Positive: The bed in the bedroom was comfortable. The place was very clean. Negative: Personally, it wasn't a good experience. The advertised address is incorrect. It is far away, and we had to spend extra money on transportation to get there. The address is NOT 1706 St Clair Ave W, Toronto, ON M6N 1J1; it is actually 36 Preston Rd, York, ON M6E 1Y7—a 30-minute bus ride or 10-minute Uber ride away. Who pays for this mistake? No one. Since the address didn't match, I didn't pay the security deposit until I arrived at the actual location. Once there, the cell service was very poor, which delayed the transfer. Also, my wife needed to use the restroom. I asked the person in charge to let us inside to use the bathroom and make the transfer, but she refused because the transfer hadn't gone through yet; she claimed protocol didn't allow it. I can understand that, but she didn't offer a bathroom for my wife while I was trying to process the payment either. We paid nearly $1,000 USD for the stay, yet that didn't seem to matter. The place smelled musty because a floor mop had been left sitting in a bucket. It is a small space. The sofa bed is tiny and rock-hard; I wouldn't recommend sleeping on it. Finally, on the last night, the internet connection went down and didn't return until the next day. I work online, and I was unable to continue working. Horrible.

Wonderful place, comfy bed and very clean! Positive: The property was very clean and had everything we needed. We appreciated the little extra things that were provided like bottled water, snacks and shower products. Negative: Everything was great! It was a little further from the downtown than I realized but that was my fault. It just gave us an opportunity to see more of the city. The couch was not comfortable for long periods but we managed.

Positive: L'appartement est fonctionnel et très propre. Il est proche des transports (gare et arrêt de bus). Le personnel est à l'écoute.

Communication was easy, it was really clean and confortable. Really enjoyed my stay. Thank you :) Positive: Communication was easy, it was really clean and confortable. Really enjoyed my stay. Thank you :)

A great little spot a short distance from downtown. Positive: Well appointed place. We were only there to sleep as it was a quick trip. Was a comfortable sleep! Super easy to check in. Hosts were very quick to respond to any questions. Negative: Nothing really - just plan to include a 35 min uber to/from downtown.

Positive: Clean and comfortable. It has everything needed for a stay, and check-in and check-out are easy. The staff is always available and responds quickly to messages and requests.

Comfortable stay! Positive: Exactly as described and shown in the pictures! The property is clean, parking availability, the host was very sweet and came to bring bags of chips and cookies to us. Negative: We liked everything. My kids wanted to stay longer . :)

Positive: Charming little place! I stayed with two of my friends and the owner made us feel really welcomed! A pleasure to have stayed there and as an added bonus they have the cutest dog! it was clean, well located while still not being on a busy street so not noisy at night.

Positive: The room was clean and comfortable.

Modern and clean Positive: Super clean and modern basement, it has all you need in the kitchen and bathroom, comfy bedroom, 2 Tvs Negative: Nothing

Very pleasant and would stay again! Positive: It was lovely and clean. Uju who was managing the property was super personable and quick to answer any and all questions. Her effort made my stay super comfortable. The facilities were very well organized and maintained and it’s also on a quiet street so was not kept up by any noise. Very easy to navigate as a property as well. Negative: There was not much natural light but that’s as expected from a basement flat and there is plenty of light inside the property.

Positive: Its pretty clean, organize, has everything what you pretty much will need. Negative: I think the price wasn't really well clear at the beginning. I got charged an amount that was supposed to be with the deposit and now just seeing that there is no deposit, everything went on extra fees. If it was more clear from the beginning would be way different. Just getting charged almost double then what you thought, I don't think its right. Other than that, its a really good place to stay but obviously for a price settle from beginning
