I planned this trip for 3 couples & we had plenty of room to relax and unwind. The setting was very nice and peaceful, the house had plentiful of things to do. With the exception of a few minor maintenance issues, I would recommend this location to others.

we felt right at home in their lovely mountain escape. It was large enough, so everyone could spread out and have privacy and welcoming enough that we could all gather in the kitchen and big room for family time. we will definitely look into another stay.

This place is absolutely beautiful and had plenty of things for my family to do! The kitchen was fully stocked with almost everything we needed which is great since my family and I cook all of ours meals during our trips. My granddaughter was with us and it was really sweet that we were able to find a high chair and even plates and cups for her since she is only 2. The theater was our favorite but we also enjoyed playing pool and ping pong. If we had questions, Nicole was quick to respond. The place was absolutely beautiful; in such a peaceful area and stunning surroundings!
We had a wonderful stay! The location is excellent if you’re visiting Luray Caverns or exploring Shenandoah National Park. The house was very clean, beautifully maintained, and really beautiful. It was a comfortable and relaxing place to stay, and the location made it very convenient for exploring the area. We would definitely stay here again!

My teenagers loved that they could have their own separate tv area to hang in too! The house was super clean and centrally located so it was easy to get to everything at the Massanutten! We had a pleasant stay at Mountain Retreat. The house layout is perfect for a group gathering - spacious with room for everyone to relax and unwind. The bedrooms are comfortable and quiet and everyone slept well. Some of the listing photos do not accurately depict the current furniture and accessory configurations. For example, there is no extra seating or bed end bench in the main floor bedroom, and the bedframe now rests on the floor. This could be a challenge for a guest with mobility issues. The dining area is missing a chair. We enjoyed the ping pong table but could not play doubles because a paddle is missing. In the pool room only one pool cue is useable. Our hosts were responsive to questions and promptly addressed an issue with an empty propane cylinder in the grill. The propane cylinder for the fire bowl was also empty.
Everything went well on our stay here. There was plenty to do in the house to keep the kids and adults entertained.
The overstay was good. The home was beautiful and spacious! Lots of little spaces to gather and have a fun time. Home is well furnished and well equipped. Cons: Dishes left in the dishwasher when we arrived. Trash was left behind by the previous occupants and the cleaners did not remove the trash either. There was leftover food outside the trash bin and lots of smelly trash left in the bin with the lid open. There was a swarm of flies and the entire scene was just as we enter and exit the home which made it disgusting. The owner failed to get this taken care of during our stay. We finally landed up cleaning all this mess (disgusting) because we didnt want to attract wildlife at night. We were also unable to use the grill and the hot tub as both seemed extremely dirty and we didnt feel comfortable using them. Seller was responsive but did not address concerns. Overall the stay was ok.
House was perfect for our extended family get together. Plenty of room for all of us. Surrounding streets were quiet, my niece used the community pool and we used the grill.
Pictures do this place justice. It is a beautiful house in the trees with wonderful amenities. We loved the open kitchen to large living room and movie theater. The bedrooms were great sizes and allowed our party to all get restful sleep. Unfortunately the cleaning prior to check-in seemed to be half done. We found a leftover medical bottle next to a bed accompanied by a large cheese puff. Dead bugs everywhere. Dog hair and kibble leftovers. We reached out to Kyle and Nicole via text and Airbnb with photos. Every time they said they would "inform their team" but never presented a solution. We finally asked for a vacuum and were pointed to one in the house that after a time we got to work. No one wants to start their vacation vacuuming.
My husband and I took our daughter and her friends for her 16th birthday. We had the best time! The house was easy to access and very clean! There was plenty of space to play and relax. Kyle and Nicole were very responsive. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you for sharing your wonderful home!
Great property for family vacation! Would just say if you have elderly people with you, it can be a little difficult to navigate fir them but aside from that, it was a beautiful home! Had a great time.

My husband and I took our 3 teenage boys(16, 18, 18yrs) with us on this trip. Their favorite room was the absolutely AMAZING theatre room!!! It had a genuine movie theater feel to it. With reclining chairs, pitch black and a pop corn maker. They also enjoyed playing bollards, ping pong and the arcade games. Oh yeah ☝️ Can’t forget the jacuzzi, which was great for relaxing sore muscles after long hikes. When we weren’t on Skyline Drive hiking (about a 20 min. drive from the house), they enjoyed mini golf, the Top-Golf Simulator, and the Massanutten Fitness and Rec Center (which was only $15 per person for a 24 hour pass. They enjoyed pickle ball, a large pool with diving board, weight room and arcade.) We also ate at Campfire Grill on the resort the day we came in. They were so amiable, had GF options, and were dog friendly. Kyle & Nicole were always available to respond promptly with any questions and recommendations! We will be staying here again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We stayed here with a large family including young kids and elderly grandparents. While the decor was nice, there were several issues that impacted our stay. At check-in, the property was not ready and we had to wait outside with luggage while cleaning was still in progress. There was a missing step at the entrance which created a safety concern. The upstairs tub was clogged and unusable, and there was a significant ant infestation in the kids’ bedroom, so we couldn’t use that room. The washer had visible mold and a strong odor, and some listed amenities (fireplace, jacuzzi, blackout shades) were not functional or as described. Floors were also very noisy throughout. You could also hear cars zipping by. Due to these issues, we lost use of key parts of the home and had to rearrange sleeping accommodations, which was disruptive for our group. The host was responsive prior to the stay, but these issues were not resolved during our visit.
Hosts were very friendly and very responsive when we had any questions. Our children loved the movie room! This was a great space for family, especially when we got rained in. There was much to do even if we couldnt go anywhere. Thank you for a memorable stay!

Our grandson especially loved the game room and movie theater, which kept him entertained for hours. The home itself is a stunning mountain retreat, offering both comfort and charm. The location is ideal—close to scenic views and a variety of amenities, including a nearby water park. We especially appreciated the quiet, tranquil setting, perfect for relaxing and unwinding. The swinging chairs on the porch were a highlight, offering a peaceful spot to enjoy the surroundings. The hosts were excellent, always responding promptly and helpfully to any questions we had. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we would gladly return.

Overall, I loved this house. It was beautiful, spacious and in a great location. I would come back. Positive: It was spacious and had everything we needed to accommodate my family. Negative: The hot tub had leaves in it so we couldn’t use it. The theater room never really got warm, it didn’t look like it had been cleaned from the last guest, and I had to go searching for the remote.
Beautiful house with plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces for gathering with friends or family. Hosts are excellent communicators and made us feel right at home. Lots to do there as well as in the area. Pine paneling in every room gave it a true mountain cabin feel. Tastefully decorated with everything needed for a relaxing getaway! Highly recommend!!
Kyle and Nicole’s place was beautiful and a perfect place to spend our daughters’ birthday weekend. Check-in was easy, the house was spotless, and the beds were so comfortable. We spent a lot of time in the game room and playing pool. Kyle and Nicole were quick to respond to any questions or issues we had. The house is in a great location- close enough to the main public spaces of the resort but far enough away to be away from the hustle and bustle. We loved seeing the deer feeding in the yard! Only thing to note is location of hot tub has changed from where the pictures show, which was a bit of a downfall for us as it now is on the bottom deck outside the game room, with no places to sit for those not wanting to go in but still wanting to socialize. Not a deal break but would have been nice to know. Overall a great trip and would recommend their place for a peaceful mountain stay!

The game room and movie room were such a fun bonus, and the location was perfect—close to Shenandoah National Park trails with many wineries nearby. The host was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, we were very happy and would highly recommend this property!
The cabin was great overall. Easy access to the main road was nice, the fully stocked kitchen made meals easy, and having a TV in every room was surprisingly beneficial with two families with kids staying. The Hot tub was great and clean as well. Our daughter thought the movie theatre was amazing and we watched two movies :)

This property was nice but it has not been well maintained, the hot tub was not very clean we where told there was propane for fires they where all empty including the ones for the grill also there is no filter in the hot tub which makes it very unsanitary .like i said it was ok but i would have to think about renting it again .
The house is in a great location for all kinds of outdoor activities and the inside is equipped for indoor activities - perfect!

We had a lovely stay with six people at this property, and were all comfortable and felt right at home the whole time. The place was gorgeous and clean, and we did not notice any problems or issues listed in previous reviews, and in fact noticed that some previous grievances (such as the window in the master bathroom) had already been handled. The area was gorgeous, with plenty to do both inside and outside of the house. Finally, our hosts were absolutely wonderful, responding quickly and kindly to any of our questions. We would absolutely recommend this property, especially to larger groups like ours who were all able to find something for each individual, so that everyone had a great time.
Our stay at Nicole and Kyle’s Airbnb was amazing! There were six adults (3 couples) and we all had our own room and bathroom. The mattresses were incredibly comfortable (maybe better than my mattress at home!). We used all the parts of the house, from the pool table down to the theater room. It was a great location to hang out and spend time with each other. We were able to cook full meals in the kitchen. The house was easily accessible and had flat paved driveway. We fit three large vehicles easily. The hosts were helpful and responsive when we had a question about the hot tub. We would definitely recommend to anyone to stay here!
Property was NOT clean I wanted to share some serious concerns about the condition of the property upon our arrival. From the moment we walked up to the house, it was clear that cleanliness and maintenance had been overlooked. The stairs leading to the entrance were littered with debris that easily could have been swept away.Inside the home, it appeared as if someone had just left without making any effort to clean. There were dirty dishes in the sink and dishwasher, food crumbs and sticky residue on the counters, and what looked like marker drawings on the countertops—likely from a child. In the master closet, we found cards and baby toys scattered on the floor, along with a large water stain on the carpet in the master bedroom.The carpeting on the stairs was filthy, covered in dirt and debris. The overall lack of cleanliness raised concerns about whether the bedding had even been washed. We attempted to do laundry but found there was no detergent—and worse, the washing machine was full of black mold. Absolutely disgusting.Outside, the hot tub and sitting area were completely neglected, covered in dirt and clearly not cleaned for quite some time. It was uninviting and unusable.This experience was incredibly disappointing and far below any reasonable standard for a rental property. I would never recommend this property to anyone. Great house - great set up for families This house is beautiful. It is rustic and positioned beautifully in the woods on the mountain. Great location - close to the lake, close to the waterpark, close to the playground. Our kids loved the video games and the movie theatre in the basement. The loft was a great area for families to hang out. We had a great visit and would come again.

We loved our stay at Kyle and Nicole’s place. We celebrated my son’s 9th birthday with cousins and they especially loved the theater room for movie night— complete with popcorn and candy of course! It was nice that our group of ten could all have a cozy spot to sit! The house was beautifully decorated and in a convenient spot to all of massanutten’s amenities. We were at the water park and snow tubing in minutes! We highly recommend this place and hope to return! We especially loved the quick communication from the host and their kind gesture to allow us a later check out!
Had a blast staying at this place !! We go on an annual ski trip and this year decided to go to VA. So glad we chose this location and will definitely be returning in the future. Place is very clean, owners are very responsive and accommodating, and you just feel right at home when you walk in !!

A great Home vibe, and cozy place to stay. A great getaway for a staycation with a bunch of friends and felt like we were just at home, enjoying each other’s company. Very spacious and the amenities made it really fun to just stay indoors and enjoy quality time with loved ones. 10 out of 10 would-recommend.

The house was big, the games were nice and we definitely made some fun family memories! HOWEVER, it was way over priced and needs a lot of work. The hot tub was not in the same place as the pictures you posted. The tv in the theater room did not work. The master bathroom has no curtain for the window so you could not comfortably undress to take a shower or a bath. The bathroom toilet was broken by the front door. The outdoor cushions were left outside so they were covered in ice and snow. There was no shovel or salt to help the driveway or stairs. Family member’s slipped and fell. There were towels left in the dryer from the previous guest. There wasn’t wash cloths in the bedrooms, but there were multiple hand towels. We couldn’t use tvs until we logged out of previous accounts and had to create accounts just to watch anything. One bedroom ceiling light stopped working. The queen bunk bed was extremely unstable. There were active animals running throughout the nights in the ceilings.

Overall, we had a great weekend. I'm going to give it 5 stars, but there were some minor issues. The Good - House is large and easily held my family - 9 total - 4 couples and 1 baby. There are 4 large spaces for gathering and playing - great room with fireplace and tv, pool table room, game room with ping pong and arcade games and theater room. We utilized all of them and enjoyed all being together. The views are pretty - especially the ski slopes lit at night. The hosts were very responsive and took care of the 2 issues I notified them of right away. The Needs-Some-Work - There is a large window in the master bath that is not covered and has been mentioned in several reviews. We taped a sheet over it, but that should be addressed. There are only 4 coffee mugs and not enough silverware - minor, but seems easy to fix. The hot tub was unusable when we got there. The sent someone to refill it and treat it right away, but I was surprised that no one had checked it before.
Overall our stay was nice. The area was quiet and easy to find. The home provided lots of different spaces for everyone to enjoy. Had an issue with the fireplace, but was able to get it fixed the next morning. Unfortunately there’s no blinds up in the mater bathroom which was alarming due to facing the street. We ended up putting a sheet against the window the duration of our stay. I would recommend one be put up for future guests.

We had an enjoyable stay and the size was good for our family. Only one bathroom on the second floor with 3 bedrooms was a bit inconvenient. We hardly used the bathroom in the basement. We could have used more cookware and serving bowls and Wine glasses would have been wonderful! Window treatment in the master bathroom is NECESSARY. Overall experience was good it just needs minor maintenance and a little TLC.

The house was easy to find, easy to get into and clean. We had several issues: -Asked for additional hand towels. Abigail delivered that evening. Much appreciated -Hot tub was filthy and not usable. Abigail said she'd call the pool cleaner and followup with us. She never did and we never got to use the hot tub. When asked if we would get some level of refund, she never responded. -There were no wine glasses. She responded "I apologize, but there are no wine glasses at the property, as it isn't stated in my listing." I was shocked at this response, but then she had someone try to buy some but said they couldn't find any. I easily bought some for the house the next day. -There was no shampoo or conditioner in any of the bathrooms. She said she would have some delivered. They never showed up even after 2 requests over 4 days. -The master bath had a large window without blinds or a drape and we were exposed. She sent a curtain rod (wrong size) and a drape and no one to install it.

The resort the air bnb is in is beautiful and we took a day just to enjoy the resort alone while there which was awesome. The house was everything it was shown to be, however the hot tub is not in the location off the main bedroom on the deck like we expected. The hot tub is different than in the pic and off the game room under the deck, which was fine but I think the pics should be updated so people are aware of its location. The house is super spacious, the driveway is a little steep like some have said but we had no issues getting in the driveway at all. The bed was so comfortable and there is many bathrooms which is nice if you have a lot of people staying. The pool table and ping pong table were awesome. We also were very happy every room had a TV, which we enjoyed. The movie theatre room was also awesome although we couldn’t get the surround sound to work, but watching a movie down there was still awesome. House was very clean and we would love to return in the future!
Never the Last Run Very well described property. Very clean. Everything was just how we expected it to be. Very comfortable beds and tons of great amenities. The host was also very communicative which was helpful. This was my first VRBO and we will definitely be back.
Family JMU visit Unfortunately I was very disappointed in the overall cleanliness of this home. To start off we had our first family dinner after traveling all day and preparing dinner we reached for the dishes to set the table and the first 3 dinner plates where dirty as where the salad bowls and flatware then the glasses too!!! All put away without being washed!! Food was still on all the dishes! The master bath room has a large window with NO shade so we had to find a large throw blanket from the living room to cover the window for privacy as it was facing a main road with traffic and people walking! The very large fan in the living room had a pile of dust on it! As did the bedroom fans through out the house. Most bathrooms had at least one light bulb missing! The grill is in need of a deep clean and replacement of the rusted burner covers!! To add to the disappointment the grill was out of propane and the spare tank was empty as well so my husband had to drive and get propane. Both French doors are rotted and need to be replaced. The furniture is much too large and there is no room to pass around the furniture! The exterior steps leading to the entrance door are extremely steep and can be dangerous if your not careful. There is black MOLD in the master shower. Broken toilet paper holder in the master one of the toilets as there are two doesn’t have a toilet paper holder… This home needs some serious TLC and is not a 5 star VRBO I would give it a 2

Abigail was a terrific host. She was very communicative and prompt. She provided great instructions and suggestions beforehand. The home was beautiful and just as described. It was a peaceful getaway. We enjoyed our stay.
The overall house is great! Lots of opportunity for games (ping pong, pool, pac man, etc) and a great movie theater room. It was close to hiking trails, wineries, and cafes. The only disappointment was the cleanliness of some of the spaces. The shower door and the inside of the washer were moldy. The hot tub was unusable as the water had not been changed (hot tub panel said “change water”) and it had a distinct smell… hopefully they can get it squared away for the next guests as the rest of the place was good!

Relaxing and Wonderful Getaway This house was a wonderful place for our quick family getaway. The game rooms, movie room, relaxing areas out on the deck, the jacuzzi, and the cozy bedrooms made us feel right at home. We loved our stay!
We had an amazing week here! We were separate families so this spacious home was perfect! Plenty to do. My hubby even suggested not leaving! We grabbed our acoustic guitars are had a jam session in loft.... amazing!! Movie room, game room, loft, and hot tub gave everyone something do. We had elementary ages up to 55 here!! We even made smores on the fire pit! My favorite was coffee on the covered porch!! We are already planning a week next year in this same spot!
Great Place for family! Thoroughly enjoyed all of the things this house has to offer- especially the ping pong and pool tables and the movie theatre. The kids loved the game room! The beds were extremely comfortable as well.

The house offered lots of fun activities for the children, hot tub, movie theater, ping pong, video games, pool table. The resort also had many fun activities, water park, putt putt golf, Escape room and fishing to name few. The kids had a wonderful time and didn’t want to leave. The kitchen does need more items like a muffin pan, wine glasses, eating utensils, etc. It is a little sparse. The owner was very responsive. I would stay again.

Big place with lots of room. Our small group of 4 couldn't take advantage of all there was to do. Nice layout and the theater room was delightful. Quiet neighborhood and the streets were walkable. Enjoyed the visit.
Annual Motorcycle Trip Only 3 of us this year so plenty of house for us. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The home theater and hot tub were great for the one day we didn’t go on a ride. The only complaint was listed in another review- the window in the master bathroom really needs a curtain or shade installed. All in all a great place to serve as a base for our trip. Kelly was very prompt answering any questions we had.

Great house for a golf trip. The house is very nice with great amenities. We are here for a golf weekend and it worked perfectly for four adults. It would also be great for families with kids.
Picturesque location, scary/steep driveway, warm/inviting cabin interior with great decor and lots of fun activities inside! Very discouraged the hot tub did not work our entire trip, however. Place was clean, however not properly prepped for our stay (no batteries for the fireplace, sink leak). A bit taken aback by the long list of cabin rules and non-refundable $50 “background check” deposit from outside company. Upon check-in I received a surprise message from the owner saying maintenance person was going to install a TV the next morning at 8am. We respectfully declined saying we wanted our privacy/sleep. Next day found out the hot tub was not heating up and requested the maintenance person. Was informed maintenance was unavailable the rest of the weekend. Owner was very communicative, however was not helpful with finding solutions to fix the hot tub for our stay. Owner was able to compromise and refund a day of stay d/t the hot tub issue. Nice visit, but would not stay again.

The home was exactly as described with so much space for the kids to run around and activities to enjoy -pool table, ping pong, theatre, hot tub, etc. It’s in the perfect location with the waterpark minutes away and mini-golf/bumper cars even closer. Spring Break 2024 I brought my family to Massanutten because I wanted to show them Harrisonburg, JMU, and wanted to get together with old friends. This cabin was perfect for my large family to enjoy the trip.
Great house in an excellent location. Easy communication and very quick response time. House has it all!
