Felt like we were sleeping in a run down office Positive: Good location, good price Negative: It’s a pretty low budget office conversion. All a bit run down.

Super appreciative of Charlie during my stay - very flexible and communicative and overall made the experience and planning very smooth. It was a bit noisy both in the hallway of building and at street level during the evenings which made my stay a bit less restful than I had hoped. The space could also benefit from a few lamps - the overhead lighting was a bit intense however go a ton of natural light during the day. Overall the unit was listed as advertised. The neighbourhood is also vibrant and lots of great restaurants - it’s very walkable to downtown, little Italy and the Glebe, and on a budget I would recommend this location to experience Ottawa. Overall good value and Charlie was a terrific host.

I would probably rate 3.5 if I could. Charlie is an excellent host and was very responsive throughout, including in partially dealing with my issues. The flat is basic, which I would have expected for the price. The photos are seemingly of a different unit within the complex, so the layout of the flat and the furniture is different to how it appears. There was a damp smell in the flat, and I felt that the bedsheets which were on my bed were not fresh and had not been washed, and they did not smell good. Charlie assured me that they were, and in any case was responsive and helpful in arranging for these to be changed. Overall, a basic flat and it generally served its purpose. The smell of the bedsheets was offputting, but Charlie was generally very helpful.

Charlie was an excellent host and I really enjoyed my stay at this location. The apartment was exactly as advertised and check in was very easy. Bed was comfortable and the kitchen area had everything needed to prepare meals. Also, excellent value for the price. Highly recommended! I would definitely return again.

Le logement a tout ce qu'il faut pour y passer quelques jours. Si vous aimez la nourriture asiatique, vous ne pouvez pas être mieux placés. La ligne 11 qui passe au pied du logement est très pratique. Le logement variait un peu des photos présente dans l'annonce. Je suppose que l'hôte possède plusieurs logements dans le même bâtiment donc il y a quelques différences de mobilier, notamment le lit king visible en photos était un lit queen dans notre logement. Charlie s'est montré très disponible tout au long du séjour et s'est assuré que notre séjour se passait pour le mieux.

Lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Bus stop right in front. Host always available when we had questions. Overall great stay!

Everything was really nice, and the place was located basically right next to chinatown so there was a lot of food options and things to explore. Only issue was that the sofa bed and the blanket for it was a bit dirty.

We were only visiting for a couple of days with my mom and our dog. Charlie is a great host, very responsive and accommodating. It was very cold at first (December), but we asked and very soon the apartment was more heated. It's a nice cozy place, perfect for a few days getaway with your pet. It is right in the heart of Chinatown Ottawa and has tons of great restaurants very close by. Thanks Charlie!

If you're desperately looking to save some $$ and have to stay in this neighborhood, this might work for you. Not a great place for families. Dark parking lot entry at night didn't feel safe. Shower was tiny. Notice the pictures don't include the ceiling, which is left over office lighting and ceiling panels. Converted office space that's above a retail business. Pull out couch is just a fold down futon. Didn't work great for a couple and their 7 year old kid.

Charlie is a great host! Replies almost immediately and rushes to solve any issues. He even let us check-in earlier. The place is spacious, clean and comfortable. It was worth it.

It was our first time visiting Ottawa and the location was wonderful for us. We parked on-site and it was just a short drive to the downtown area. We loved staying in China town because it was a short walking distance from multiple really delicious authentic restaurants. The host was very responsive and communicative throughout the stay.

Charlies’ place was very convenient for us to go to the sights we wanted to visit and the bus was a few steps from the main door. It was a clean and quiet place to recharge after a day of wandering around downtown. Would definitely book again if we visit Ottawa with our children , if Charlie has a larger place.

Stayed here with my pup and husband. Charlie was a great host, super quick to respond and gave us everything we needed. Listing didn’t lie and the area was perfect. 15 minute walk maximum to where we needed to go an 20 minute walk to parliament. Couldn’t say anything bad about this place. Great location for all your needs and more! Would 100% stay again

We had a great stay and really enjoyed the place. It was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Communication with the host was excellent. They were friendly, responsive, and made everything easy from check-in to check-out. We’d definitely recommend staying here and would be happy to come back!

Great place for its location, cleanliness, and host, who was very responsive. 2nd door had me on edge a bit, so I'm sharing that for the girlies. It's clearly due to a reno but that didn't stop me from building a door stopper for the door with no doorknob and sleep in the living room. Safe and bright neighborhood, regardless of extra door, the locals confirmed it - very nice people. Everything needed felt like it was within walkable distance. Would recommend.

Bed Bugs Positive: The location was good. Negative: Bed bugs. Did not cover accommodation after reported. Lack of communication regarding the progress of addressing the situation. Still suffering from all the bites on my body.

Great location and the check-in video was very helpful. Having to go through 2 main doors made me feel extra safe. The host was very responsive and quickly brought a blanket and mattress topper for the futon when we asked. Overall, a great stay! Would stay again.

The unit was as described. It was clean and suited our needs while visiting family. We were especially grateful to be able to bring our dogs. Parking was easy and the additional cost was reasonable. Communication with Charlie was clear, friendly, and always timely.

I would not recommend this unit at all. There were major issues with cleanliness. The host was apologetic about my concerns to a point but I found our communications to be lacking empathy.

Very clean, private and quiet. Close to one very good restaurants, grocery stores, and bars! Felt like a home way from home! The host was very helpful and understanding. Would definitely recommend!

I had a great stay at Charlie's appartement ! The place is comfy, and the location is really good. The area can be a little noisy with vehicles, but it's in the city so it's logical, and it's not too bad (plus Charlie give earplugs).

I love this place! It's close to my family, there's so many great restaurants around, everything is close and I felt safe staying at a place in downtown. Easy to access, instructions are crystal clear and the host is friendly and very responsive. The only thing to take note of is to bring your own toilet! I might come back and stay for more than just a weekend, thank you very much!

I would keep looking Negative: So, to call this place modern is a huuuge stretch. It's a very old building and the apartment hasn't been modernised. It says Kitchen, but it's actually just a microwave. The things that stood out to me - The noise of the air conditioning system and the inability to heat or cool the unit. The Crack heads on the street (of which there are many) and the general noise issues. You can hear everything happened in all the apartments around you. Also, I didn't like that they took a deposit using some random third party site. I prefer my credit card info SAFE! All in all, for what you pay, I think you can find much nicer.

Stayed for three nights (weeknights) was very quiet and peaceful. Overall the place was clean, great location everything you could need within walking distance.

The place was clean and comfortable spot from which we could explore the Chinatown. Close to subway, bus and just next to a few interesting stores.

La localisation du logement était parfaite, avec un accès facile à une panoplie de restaurants et de commerces. L'hôte était avenant et réactif à toutes nos questions. Bref, une très bonne affaire pour un séjour agréable.

overall decent area and place. It is a converted office space. you have like three codes to enter to get into your room: outer door, inner door and room door. area wasn't far from stuff to do or places to eat at

First thing I was waiting more in one hour to get in the place and the place is so cold and to much noise and I got a a bite from bedbugs

The condo was spacious, clean and well equipped. The temperature was said to be set @ 21 degrees but it wasn’t as we froze the entire time we spent in the condo. We needed to go outside to warm up. Very uncomfortable and we had to wrap ourselves in a blanket while inside. The temperature control was located centrally so we had no way to adjust it. I was very disappointed with our stay as the unit appeared to be everything one would want in a B&B and more. Not happy! I must admit the parking space was great.
