Meeker Hill House was a beautiful place for a winter getaway to visit family. The huge fireplace was a special treat and if you're lucky enough to have a full moon as we did -- wow what a sight out back at night! Although we didn't have the weather to utilize the back patio and pool, they are so beautiful and can imagine what a retreat this home would be in the summer. The kitchen is very well stocked for cooking -- even a rolling pin for baking gingerbread cookies with grandchildren!
The home was beautiful and perfect for our young family. There were a few minor hiccups at the onset but Red Cottage was extremely responsive in sorting through them. We’d definitely return!
Our stay was stunning. The location is quiet and peaceful yet close enough to the town to get what you may need. The home itself is absolutely gorgeous. It’s clean, the layout is beautiful, and the views are out of this world. A truly incredible place to stay. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was perfect, and each room has a full bath which was great for our family. Overall highly recommend
We absolutely loved our stay in Redding. The house is so tastefully done. Not overdone. Simple and beautiful. The pool was perfect, the property is breathtaking and our family can't wait to return. We fell in love with the doors in this house! Bravo to the owners.
Yes, this place looks exactly like the pictures — and it truly is that stunning Connecticut getaway with a picture-perfect lawn view and a sleek, modern pool. What the photos don’t show you is how it feels: like you’re staying at your impossibly chic friend’s house while they’re away traveling (probably in Paris for Fashion Week and staying at Costes). You open the fridge and, to your surprise, there’s a bottle of Cristal — surely a mistake, you think. Forgot your moisturizer? Don’t worry, there’s Barbara Sturm everywhere. From the impeccably stocked liquor cabinet to the most comfortable hybrid mattress, every detail is a notch above what you’d expect from an Airbnb — right down to the stack of plush Loewe pool towels casually waiting for you in just when you think they forgot something.
We really enjoyed our stay. The space was beautifully designed and pristine. It was a calming and relaxing space to return to after a full day of team building. Would definitely recommend!
Needs Some Attention We have stayed here twice, in April 2023 and April 2024. We had some pressing issues both times—clogged showers. The management company sent a plumber promptly and unclogged the showers. There are other issues with the house, which, all put together, make for a less than ideal stay. There are numerous windows with issues—broken gutters hanging down, gaps in the window panes, broken window frames, etc. I reported all this last year but I do not think any repairs were made. The room adjoining the master bedroom has a twin daybed advertised as being the perfect spot for a child. But there are two huge windows in that room and not a single covering over the windows. Nothing. It is exceedingly bright in there in the morning starting at 6:30 am, and tons of cold air comes right through the old windows. There is not any place in the bedrooms to put your stuff. No shelves. No hangers in the closets. No luggage racks. Not even tables. There are closet rods in closets, but no hangers and not any place to unpack. We were not given ANY washcloths and only 1 hand towel for 6 people. We asked what type of coffee maker, and the management company said Nespresso. If you are bringing pods, the machine takes the original size of pods. There is also a drip coffee maker—which had old, moldy, dried-out grounds still in it! There was quite a surprising amount of food in the fridge. Not the condiments you’d expect, but opened hummus, open yogurt, slices of cheese, veggies.
This place is a gem. The house is beautiful and well-appointed and the grounds and pool are spectacular. Each bedroom has its own private bath which makes renting with couples super easy and comfortable. It’s just an extremely relaxing and beautiful place if you’re looking for a quiet escape.
The house is beautiful, clean and surrounded by greenery — a low key luxe and relaxing haven! And the hosts were responsive and helpful. We had a fantastic stay!

Beautiful house and setting. Perfect respite. Loved that the deli was down street. Would easily stay again. Only wish they had a few lawn games accessible to enjoy the giant lawn beyond the home. Otherwise great stay.

This home was everything anyone could want for a weekend getaway. Beautifully renovated and furnished with a gorgeous view off the patio, cozy nooks, a well appointed kitchen, and lovely pool. Hosts were responsive and friendly. I would definitely recommend this to others and plan to return.
