Great location, stayed with my family for a wedding that was in the area. Met our needs perfectly.

Lilac Hill Our family of seven stayed here to attend a nearby wedding. The home is lovely. Clean, comfortable and the views are terrific.

We stayed at Red Cottage with 5 adults, two kids, and two huskies and the place was more than comfortable. It’s private and peaceful and only a 2hr drive from the city. We fell in love with every detail of the house. It was very tastefully decorated and at the same time had everything one can need during their stay. Although we were sent a very informative and helpful list of things to do/places to eat in the area, we opted to just stay in to enjoy the place, and its views. Communication was always very easy, and the team was always very responsive. The few minor issues/concerns we had, were solved via messaging. The Red Cottage team is very present and helpful if needed but also give you your space. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Quiet location that allowed you to slip away from the hustle and bustle. Large space for a family getaway.

Our group of 8 had a great stay at the Red Cottage! The house was accurately described and was just as picture. We especially enjoyed sitting around the large table sharing food and playing games. The host was very easy to communicate with and the house rules were simple ensuring we could just go and relax!

The Lilac Hill house is definitely a 5-star rental. We were 3 couples & a 6-y/o who rented Fri - Sun for a wedding a few miles away. We all recommend the house & would rent again. High points: 1. Mix of antique charm & modern amenities. 2. Well-stocked, modern kitchen w/ large island that was a gathering spot for our group. 3. An incredible view through large windows & sliding doors all along the west side of the house. 4. A fire pit well stocked w wood. 5. Easy commo w/ host. Minor issues: 1. Driveway entrance from the highway is hard to see from a moving car, particularly in the dark; the high grass at the entrance could be cut to make the driveway more visible; an address marker or sign visible at night could make it easier to see. 2. The doors on the 2 downstairs bathrooms didn’t close completely (remained open ~1/16”). 3. An ironing board should be kept in one of the closets, or the house manual should say it’s in the basement, where we found it after much searching.

Our stay at Lilac Hills was wonderful for a wedding weekend at Callicoon Center Resort for our entire friend group. We enjoyed the spacious house where everyone could be together with room for dining, watching TV, and chilling on the patio together. We were a very close drive to the wedding venue which made it super convenient. Loved our time at the house!

We had such a peaceful and beautiful stay in this home. Everything felt very thoughtful , you can really see the care and soul that went into the details and decor. It was incredibly quiet, perfectly connected with nature, and had everything we needed. My friends and I truly enjoyed our time here and felt very comfortable throughout our stay.

The house was nicely furnished and is generally comfortable although the bed in the main floor MBR is high making it a challenge to get into. The bed is comfortable once you get in.The signage of the address could be made more visible and the driveway has a couple of potholes that you might consider filling.

The place was picturesque and so comfortable, something I imagine would be out of an Hemingway poem.
