Stayed here for a weekend walking trip and it was the perfect place for the job. The room was just like the photos: cozy and clean. The pub itself was lovely too, with perfect food for cold weather and lots of friendly people to have a drink with. Will definitely be looking at going again at some point!

The room was just as shown in the photos – clean, tidy, uncluttered, and nicely refurbished. Although it was above a pub, the noise didn’t carry much, and we had a comfortable night’s sleep with very little disturbance. The car park was handy, just a short walk from the back entrance, which made access straightforward. Great position in the Peaks and all at a reasonable price. Overall, a pleasant stay.

I needed to stay in the Castleton/Hope area for a charity walk for work. After leaving it a bit late to book accommodation, I found this pub at a reasonable price for two nights. We arrived at 7pm, it was easy to find and check in was super easy. The pub was not too busy. Our room (room 3) was suitable for the stay and was as described. The host provided us with additional pillows, milk, and loo roll. We could hear the noise of the people in the pub and outside until about 11pm and then it died down. We had dinner at the pub and the food was absolutely amazing, although it took an hour to arrive at the table after chasing it up. Check out was easy Sunday morning. The pub seemed very quiet and we decided to go for breakfast elsewhere. Overall a satisfactory stay, and perfectly fine for the overnight stay we needed for a walk in the Peak District.

All nice and easy

Great location, fresh clean room. A little disappointed that we had to wait until check in to find that they are not serving food and the bar fridges poorly stocked. Luckily we have stayed in the area several times so knew of places to go for food and drink. Overall we had a great stay and the location was perfect for the plans we had for the weekend. Would recommend to others and would stay again

Not a bad place to stay. Comfy bed. Blackout curtains, but the exit light stays on. Had to ask downstairs for loo roll. Check in is late. Pub doesn’t serve food after Sunday check in. Bring your own hairdryer and electric blanket.

Lovey little room to stay in, to enjoy all that Hope valley had to offer.

The pub is lovely, the room was very clean and in a great location for walking. Room 4 is the smallest of the 5 rooms & has the fire exit staircase outside the window. We felt a little uneasy having the window open all night, but I’m sure the crime rate is close to zero there.

Great location for a short break in the Peaks! Didn’t use the pub itself but from what we did see it looked great.

Great location. Rooms were recently renovated so looked rather new. service was quite cold/ not very hospitable, beds were really uncomfortable. expect it to be noisy up until 11pm, even with earplugs on

Great cozy place for a nights stay. Room is of course smaller than most hotel rooms. And you have to pass through a busy pub to get to the rooms. Which on one hand means great accessibility to fun and drinks, but if you want a quiet and peaceful setting then it’s not ideal. Although, once you get onto the corridor to the rooms, you can’t hear any sounds from the pub. The location is great and castleton is very accessible from the Accomodation.

Positive: Nice staff, good location. Negative: No Body wash/Sampoo...small soap. two tap faucet-no mixer
