Nice and quiet area and house. Good size. Dog friendly makes a big difference. Very short walk to the town centre, shops etc. good heating and general amenities.
Thank you for a perfect stay in your lovely house. Very comfortable , fab location , will definitely book again . Liz and Rupert
Please note - the stairs from the first to second floor are INCREDIBLY steep and my partner - who is a 30 year old cyclist with no mobility issues - fell twice on them. As such, we couldn’t use the top bedroom and it also isn’t appropriate for kids. All very clean and a perfect location in central Ripon. Some of the amenities listed, like shampoo, shower gel etc, weren’t there. That’s fine, but they shouldn’t be listed so that they aren’t expected. The blinds downstairs also don’t close properly in the front or down to the bottom of the window in the kitchen.
Great location, very clean, and well enough appointed. Some small issues - eg. listing says shower gel etc will be provided, which wasn't the case. Main note is that the stairs to the loft room are dangerously steep, so I wouldn't recommend this property for families with small children.
We had a few issues but the property was worth what we paid.
A great find for our stay in Ripon. We have rebooked for a friends wedding later in the year.
Lovely cottage. Location great for Ripon just round the corner. Quiet at night. Cottage immaculately clean. Communication was great. Cathedral views from the back. Went for runs down the river just at end of the road. Canal walk also. Went to all tge museums. Workhouse. Prison and Corthouse. Cathedral beautiful. Ate at the Royal Oak. Coffee at Wifreds. Best pub the One eyed Rat. Will definitely return here
Dale was a fantastic host, very responsive, gave clear instructions to check in and access the property. The property was in a great location and spotless. We will 100% be back when we need to return for work.
Would definitley recommend Positive: Clean, well equipped, warm. Negative: Parking infomation given ambiguous, however parking was ok
Fabulous stay we will definitely be going back Positive: The location was great. The house was very stylish and very clean. Everything we needed was there. Bedding was very good quality. Just perfect Negative: Nothing
Expensive price for a poorly equipped property. Positive: Walking distance into Ripon Negative: Tiny property, poorly equipped with a "cheap and basic" feel throughout. Needs an upgrade and a deep clean. Neighbourhood was very unfriendly. Beds and pillows were horrendously uncomfortable.
We enjoyed our stay.
Fijn compact huis voor twee personen, prima woonkamer en grote badkamer. Heerlijk rustig straatje op paar minuten loopafstand van het centrum. Aanrader!
Positive: Location, beds, shower, kitchen facilities not that we used them though. Negative: Stairs can be a bit tricky if not extra careful
Positive: Comfy and convenient Negative: Nothing
Very good location. We didn’t have any problems with parking but it is tight there. Positive: Everything
Holiday in Rippon Positive: Central location, outside area , comfortable beds Negative: No easy access to Tv, no cusions on outside seating.
Weekend break with my daughter and her husband Positive: Quite comfortable and idea location close to the city. Negative: Parking was a nightmare with some complaints from a neighbour despite there being no restrictions in the street. Host and Stay instructions not very helpful or friendly. Some areas of the property not very clean including cobwebs and an old dirty mop in the back yard
A smashing little house that actually had plenty of room. Well equipped and easy to live in. Yes, the stairs are quite steep, but we two older ladies managed well.
We came with our 8 year old Granddaughter Our base was perfect for getting around not only Ripon but other out of town attractions. We definitely recommend staying here. Even the car park charges were good value for money.
The house was an pictured and in a great location near the Cathedral and market. Host was very responsive when we called with a problem
Constant hassle looking for parking space Positive: Location handy for centre of Ripon Negative: No parking though advertised as street parking available. Resident parking only and no spaces available. Parked in long stay car park, Cathedral car park which is10 mins walk away, though that is very busy and could only park after 5pm.
Dreadful! will not be returning Positive: Close to the town Negative: Neighbours asked to move our car as soon as we got there even though there was a disability parking badge in the windscreen . Gate at the back doesn’t shut as no handle on it so our dog kept wandering out. The yard has to be accessed by all residents so daily walked through by other residents Not really dog friendly! Cutlery and kitchen utensils need to be reviewed by owner, 2 tumbler glasses!, 1 pan and no frying pan . This is quite possibly the worst property we have stayed at and we left a day early due to this .
Positive: We were going to a wedding at the cathedral and it was very close Negative: It could have done with a bit more cleaning
Positive: It was clean, comfortable and close to town Negative: It was fine in all respects for what we wanted.
A cosy cottage Positive: walking distance from cathedral and market Negative: The stairs are very steep! Top tip: to find the washing machine you need to go across the yard to the outhouse.
Positive: Beautifully appointed and close to all amenities. Negative: Be aware of steepness of stairs especially to second bedroom.
Nice house, good location Positive: The house is in a good location. You can cut through alongside the house so its only a 2-3 minute walk into town. We were able to get parked outside the house with no problems. It was clean and tidy and the Kitchen had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable, would have preferred a king sized bed but I think it would be tight to fit one in. We had a lovely stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Negative: Only a few slight issues, nothing that spoilt our stay. One hand towel between 4 people is not sufficient. The coat hooks by the front door were hanging off so couldn't really be used. Could do with a doormat to help avoid mucky footprints. Some curtains at the bedroom windows would be helpful as the blinds don't block out the light so we were woken at the crack of dawn. The tv's didn't get normal channels and for smart tv's were difficult to use.
Positive: Beautiful decor, very clean, very comfortable beds and a generally pleasing Negative: The stairs were very steep with a sharp bend. As I am currently using a crutch I found them difficult to negotiate. The stairs to the upper bedroom were worryingly steep even for my fit and able daughter. The main problem was getting the so called smart TV to work as particularly on the second night it wouldn't connect with WiFi and was therefore unusable. Also there was no guidance on which remote did what. The online guide was next to useless. Overall a severe disappointment
Positive: The location was perfect and we managed to park on the street. The view from the kitchen doors of the cathedral is lovely.
Be aware EXTREMELY steep hazardous stairs in property, beds not comfy and geneally feels neglected Positive: The location was good to get into town and was a good base to travel to surrounding areas. Negative: The stairs are EXTREMELY steep and nicest bedroom is on 2rd floor up more very steep steps and not same floor as bathroom. Lots of dirty hand prints and cobwebs etc. The blinds were very dusty and let light in so you were awake early. parking is an utter nightmare on the narrow street and neighbours knocked to move car as they didn't like the house being a holiday let it seemed. Cottage needs maintenance/lick of paint/thorough clean. Beds are really uncomfortable. Neighbours have access through the yard at the back which was a hazard if you had dogs with you. No welcome pack or extras, no guides to use oven, heating. fire, wifi etc. Lots of old junk mail left in the cottage but no brochures for surrounding areas to visit. Mis matched crockery and glasses etc. Seemed all thrown together and inside the cupboards smelled reallt foisty and damp. Very dissappointed and left a day early.
Positive: Location fab, good potential, poor execution. Negative: The property was dirty. We had to clean the entire downstairs on our first evening. And purchase all the necessary cleaning products and a tea towel.
Great house, location perfect for a wedding we was at near Ripon
Nice place , very clean . Only issue was parking other then that I had a lovely stay.
Centrally situated with everything being in walking distance. Royal Oak served great food and the guides in the cathedral were very friendly and informative. There were a few housekeeping issues that have been passed on but otherwise the property was well appointed, warm, clean and tidy.
Lovely stay on a hidden gem of a place
Clean with a good location heating and parking not ideal Positive: Location was good Negative: No dedicated parking Heating upstairs was not great downstairs was fine
Perfect for my situation, very central so ideal. Will certainly my book be again.
Lovely little cottage in a great central location. Very clean with good facilities. The only minor drawback for us was the steep, narrow stairs for people in their eighties. Obviously this would not be a problem at all for younger people.
Clean, tidy and quiet bolthole in Ripon! Positive: Convenient and cozy place to stay, close to Ripon and very quiet. Negative: Nothing to complain about!
Negative: Neighbour wanting us to move our car so they could park theres, knocking on the door all the time
Comfortable & well presented property Positive: Very comfortable and well presented property. Very close to the cathedral, museums and town centre. Negative: Parking was very difficult on a narrow and restricted road.
Absolutely brilliant! Positive: Lovely place, warm and clean Negative: Parking was difficult there’s no designated space
Solid property in a brilliant location
Fantastic property. Everything to make the stay as comfortable as possible was done. Would definitely stay again.
A short walk from the centre so great location. There is no allocated parking so it’s just luck of the draw and could present a problem but we were ok. Steep stairs as mentioned but certainly not a huge issue for most dexterous adults. Well equipped kitchen, homely and clean.
Great spot to explore Ripon, and good location for getting to York, tidy and clean, my only note would be the street is only small and very tight on parking
Great property. We plan to stay again!
The house was comfy and clean. Would stay there again.
Lovely home with a great view of the cathedral. Great location. Very comfortable and clean. Definitely recommend!
Great place and great location Positive: Great location, ideal for walking in to the town and also great for getting to Ripon Races. Property was nice and clean and decorated lovely. Negative: The fire in living room was ornamental and we did not realise when we booked and was a little cold in the living room on night.
beautiful house in an Beautiful area couldn't asked for more
