The photos didn't actually do it justice, the sea view was outstanding, every morning, sun rising over the coastline, just breathtaking. Everything we needed was within the cottage, heating worked a treat. spotless, comfy, and ample space. fossil hunting was withing walking distance down the path to the shore or a walk along the coastal path for more beaches. Excellent, friendly pubs locally, which served vast meals and great prices. Whitby, a stones throw in the car was a great day out. perfect holiday getaway.

Dale’s place was beautiful. The apartment was comfortable and relaxing and the view was incredible. We enjoyed watching the birds while sitting on the bench outside the property. We saw a barn owl and a bullfinch amongst others. We had lovely walks one day to Runswick bay and another to Staithes and Saltburn was only a shirt drive away. We would have loved to have gone to No.20 the restaurant in Port Mulgrave but it was closed. All in all it was a perfect place to spend a few days. Thank you.

Really impressed with this apartment. Right on the edge of the Cleveland way and with spectacular cliff and sea views from the living room window. Has those touches other rentals often ignore, like mirrors in the bedrooms and plugs that can be accessed. Bedrooms and bathrooms were pristine. Living space was spacious and tastefully decorated. All very accessible for the less mobile. Only two stairs to get in and two stairs internally to access the bathrooms and bedrooms. Walk in shower. All very well thought out. There are some reasonable distance stretches of well gravelled and gentle incline Cleveland way heading out both ways from the apartment, again great for the less mobile to enjoy the spectacular cliff top views. Highly recommended.

Fantastic position right on the coastal path. Stunning views and great walks.

Lovely Stay Positive: The Cleveland Way is literally on the doorstep. You really couldn't ask for better. The large picture window in the lounge has spectacular views over the coastline. Negative: Disappointed that there was no BBQ and outside space other than parking and one bench. The property is really well equipped but there was not much space to put your own things - no empty kitchen cupboards and lots of ornaments etc.

A clean tidy and welcoming property with views ‘to die for!’ Positive: The views from the front window was exceptional, looking over the headlands. Very clean and tidy place, with a 20 minute walk to the Badger Hound pub in Hinderwell. 2 very comfy double bedrooms, one on suite. TV very easy to operate, which isn’t always the case with these new Smart TVs. Nice to be able to walk either way from the property as it’s on the coastal path. Negative: Judging from the visitors book, the property hadn’t been used for a while and initially it was very cold, it would’ve been nice if a little heating had been on prior to our arrival. It should be noted that the property is on the ground floor with another apartment above- this wasn’t occupied during our stay so it was very quiet, which might not be the case with people above.

- ve Despite paying the management agent a cleaning fee we were disappointed to find dead wood lice, hair in the rugs and dirty cutlery. + ve That aside, the property was suited to our requirements with two bathrooms a plus. It is in a convenient location, overlooking the bay with opportunity to witness the sunrise and offering the costal walk into Staithes and Runswick Bay

Great apartment with fantastic views. Lovely and peaceful with plenty of walks from the front door. We saw roe deer in the fields, foxes, rabbits and lots of different birds. We will definitely be returning.

What a fantastic few days spent at Dales place!! Fossil hunting, walking, days out to Whitby, Saltburn..... The apartment is surprisingly bigger than expected with lovely furnishings and 2 bathrooms! The apartment itself is well stocked with everything you need for a great base to explore the surrounding areas. Port mulgrove is beautiful and situated in between Staithes and Runswick bay. The view from the apartment is stunning and there's so much to explore within 30 mins drive, there is a bus though if you don't feel like taking a car. ....we will definitely staying again 🙂

A fantastic property, we have walked past it numerous times on the coastal path, so it was great to stay here, clean, comfortable and a good size, fantastic shower.

Lovely property in a fantastic location- views are something else! Clean and spacious accommodation, plenty of room fir our family of five. Well stocked kitchen. Recommend the walk down the cliff side opposite to the fisherman’s huts at the bottom, proper adventure!

If you want a place with a TV the size of a wall, and lightening fast broadband, then you may be disappointed. However, if you want to enjoy your holiday, spending quality time with your friends/family, in a beautiful location then this is the place for you. Difficult to add over and above what's already been said. Communication was spot on. Very well equipped throughout, especially the kitchen. You are located right on the Cleveland Way, so if you're into walking, you are very well placed. Plenty of places locally to visit/eat etc. Highly recommended and we will definitely be visiting again.

Brillant location views were stunning. Nice walks on the Cleveland Path. Local area was very nice, plenty of places to eat.

A wonderful place Positive: The cottage was lovely. Situated in the middle of a coastal trail between Runswick Bay and Staithes. The cottage had a brilliant view of the cliffs and the sea. It's a great place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

great location, Property let down by the poor management company. Stealth insurance tax not included Positive: A good location for access to the cleveland way walk ways. 10 minute stroll into the local village. Negative: We suspect the property has not been used regularly as there was a musty smell due to the heating being off. When we arrived the property was cold and took a long time to warm up on the inititial evening. (end of March time) Host and stay are the management company for the property and was informed after completing the booking through booking.com (paid in full) that an additional fee for insurance (£25) was required or a £250 deposit. The message from Host and stay was pay this fee or we cancel your booking, not the best approach to this stealth tax. This should be included in the booking fee with Booking.com rather than relying on customers to cough up the extra after completing the initial booking. Booking.com had check out at midnight on our last day which I thought was very generous. 08:00 on the day of leaving we received a message from Host and stay saying we needed to vacate by 10:00am or be subject to further costs. For this booking we must have received 10-12 messages from Host and stay, I suggest host and stay needs to get their act together and present these properties as intended when advertised through Booking.com, After 10 years of using Booking.com this is the worst booking experience I have encountered. Not what I expect.

Stayed and view point cottage. beautiful location and lovely stay. very quiet and peaceful and the view over the cliffs and beach of ports musgrave idilic. Lovely base to explore the North Yorkshire coast. Cottage was cosy, very clean and warm once radiators and water had heated up, and cosy retreat after a few snowy/wintery days! The only slight downside or points to consider is there are no condiments of any sort in the house, so ensure you bring your own. The frontroom although clean, did have a strong smell of dog when first coming into the property. We also have a dog and know the cottage is dog friendly. But it may be worth having a deep clean or air spray to use to helpaak the smell? One other area of feedback is the walls can become quite damp, especially with the snowy weather we had. The cottage had been vacant for some time prior to arriving. If housekeeping could turn on the electric heating system for anticipated arrival, this would be great. Otherwise beautiful stay!

The place is in beautiful location for sure, however there was a wasps next just under the eves of the door way so we had to tackle them going in and out. The shower door was off its hinges but we managed to mend it, that was also the case of the wardrobe in the Ocean room. The taps were heavily covered in lime scale that could easily be cleaned which I did. The window looking out to sea was dirty and you could see hand prints from a child all over it, the sill was very dusty. Bedrooms were very dusty the top of the bed head was thick with dust and so were the light fitting. Floor hadn't been vacuumed in lounge so was very hairy but again we had a good clean up so we could enjoy the rest of our stay. Having said all this we had a lovely time and if was lovely for our doggies.

We would defo stay here again! It was larger than expected and very quiet, we heard no noise from any neighbours and it was silent at night. There is parking right outside directly on the Cleveland way walk, so perfect if you’re hoping to explore that. It felt homely and there were all the kitchen crockery etc that you might need. The only downsides were there was no enclosed garden to let our dog out in (but this isn’t on the description, it was my error) and the internet is very slow. That said it wouldn’t put us off coming again because the location is just so beautiful and the apartment ideal!

The view is magnificent and the location is perfect for visiting local beaches and attractions. For our family of five with a 3 year old it was a challenging house - for example there are a lot of breakable ornaments all over the house and all of the crockery is porcelain. There was a noticeable smell, which I think was caused by the kitchen/washing machine or possibly previous visitors with a dog. This did spoil the experience for us a bit especially on arrival, but we did enjoy our stay overall. I think I would recommend this place for a family with older children, or those on a walking holiday. The location is stunning and there are lots of walks right from the doorstep

Viewpoint suited us down to the ground. We enjoy great views, walking spots and peace and quiet and we got all of that and more here. Our short break was to celebrate our daughter's 18th and the end of her A levels and it was perfect for her. Apartment was clean and super comfortable and had most things we needed. As others have said, there is a bit of a lack of a few essentials that you can bring as long as you know beforehand, notably washing up liquid and a tea towel. Another reviewer mentioned a shower head for the bath and there is one , the bath is fab in fact! We would definitely choose again for exploring the N.Yorks coast.

Perfect location just needs some tlc Positive: Incredible location. Very spacious accommodation. Negative: The finer details of the place needs updating. The bottom of the shower doors need deep cleaning. The shower temperature is no adjustable and very hot. The tap for the bath doesn't work or stay on and is not secure to the floor. The hot water wasn't easy to figure out and when we did eventually get hot water, I had to shower with my daughters straight after my husband so we'd all get atleast a rinse before it went cold again. Radiators, taps and rails all need descaling and deep cleaning. Some visible mould in corners of rooms and a noticeable smell of damp in the first double room

Positive: The view was amazing. Negative: The dust everywhere when we were charged £90 for cleaning! Shower is dangerous as no slip mat & husband slipped over! Missing lampshade on bear light & kept sending messages saying we'd be charged for any damage or breakages when they had not left the property in good state. No sockets near mirrors to dry hair etc Have to put on floor!

Wunderschöne ruhige Lage, mit gigantischem Ausblick! Positive: Wunderschöne Lage mit direktem Blick auf die Steilküste + Meer. Privater Parkplatz direkt vor der Haustür. Küche ist mit allem Nötigem ausgestattet. Große Badezimmer + Dusche. Überhaupt alles sehr geräumig. Negative: Doppelbetten könnten etwas größer und breiter sein. Passe mit meinen 1,80m gerade so rein. Zu zweit sind die ca. 1,40m Breite auch grade so bequem. Nur eine gemeinsame Bettdecke, besser wären zwei kleiner Decken für jeden eine.

Negative: Sofas in the Lounge were past their best and very uncomfortable Should have seating in the window to make the most of the view. The open Wifi is a problem..... as overseas guests we needed to use it but did so reluctantly.......

Negative: Needed curtains as light woke us up early. Also maybe a rug in the lounge to make it cosier. Kitchen utensils a bit outdated and no corkscrew. Could maybe do with some kitchen roll and some condiments

Beautiful location and very comfortable stay Positive: This was our second stay in the property - we very rarely stay in the same place twice so this is testament to how much we love the location - the cliffside views are unbeatable. Lovely accommodation with everything we needed. This time we did the walk to Staithes - challenging for the legs but glorious views!

Lovely spacious appartment with what must be the best view possible of this dramatic coastline...was breathtaking. Beds were very comfortable and everywhere felt clean. The large living room window made the most of the sunrise and it was hard to drag yourself away. I hope we'll be back next year.

The location and layout of the apartment was great. I think it’s fair to say that it’s very dated and a bit cluttered which meant inevitably it was very dusty. Got the sense it gets a ‘quick clean’ but lots of cobwebs and very dusty lower surfaces, dirty windowsills etc. Beds and towels were spotless however which was lovely. Kitchen was a real mishmash of old crockery, and again knickknacks which were very sweet but also very dusty. Was fantastic to be right on the Cleveland Way and we got very lucky with the weather so we had a good time but even though it was July I still don’t think the price point is quite right compared to other properties we stay in peak season (which is usually about 5-6 a year). For a simple accommodation in a beautiful spot then this is great.

Perfect view through big window in living/dining room. Nice table&bench in front of house with sea view. It is just along cleveland pathway. As there is no telescope available anymore, bring binoculars in case you want to zoom in on the coast/cliffs/sea. Enjoyed the sea view and talking to neighbours and cleveland path walkers going by. Co-op and fishnchips just 4 min car drive away. Only 1 towel per person provided, hence you may want to bring additional.

Beautiful area, amazing walks. Cottage has been thoughtfully decorated, however there was a large amount of dust on several surfaces, there were no condiments or oils etc for cooking and the main shower couldn't be turned down sufficiently so it was incredibly hot. Very comfy sofas and beds. Overall it was a lovely stay, just a few small niggles.

Positive: Location Comfortable beds Fantastic views Fairly clean Negative: Communicating with the property/ host and stay/ booking.com inconsistent when trying to confirm that we had managed to book the extra night (19th)which was offered at a discount. Then price went down for the additional day, then back up again. Broken tap in bathroom. No telescope ( there was one in the picture, so disappointed about that) Only one front door key, so dependent on the key cupboard. We all ended up with bruised hips and shins due to corners on hlass tables. Table corners provided but with instructions to not take the sticky tapes off to use them, which we ended up having to do because had so many bruises.

We had a very enjoyable holiday. Very comfortable house, well equipped and located in a lovely Village and countryside. Lots to do for three generations. The one downside was that the Shower temperature was far too hot. We contacted the helpdesk and they were very unresponsive and unhelpful. We were just given obvious advice like “turn the temperature down to its coldest? Obviously we had done that right away. Overall an excellent house and location, reccomended. Paul Cavanagh.

Needed a quiet break and that’s what we got

Beautiful views, great walks straight from your door. Very well equipped, clean and tidy. Clean, ironed white bedding and towels. Spacious lounge, good storage in the bedrooms. A good location to visit other coastal areas and also explore places in land.

Views were magnificent, accomodation was welcoming and would definately stay again.

Fantastic stay! The area is beautiful, and the views from the property are absolutely stunning. The beds and sofas were very comfortable, and the property itself was larger than expected! The only downside was the damp in the walls, which you do notice from time to time, but the scenery more than made up for it. We would definitely stay again, but would avoid the colder months.

Positive: Superfijn huis, mooi uitzicht, schoon, vriendelijke contact met verhuurder Negative: De eerste dag was het huisje ijskoud omdat de verwarming niet aanstond. Na het aanzetten van de ketel, gelijk bij aankomst, heeft het de hele eerste dag geduurd om het huisje op temperatuur te krijgen. Een warme douche of bad was de eerste dag ook niet mogelijk omdat het even duurde om de ketel op te warmen. De tweede dag was het huisje wel op temperatuur.

View Point is aptly named; it offers a stunning view of a dramatic part of the coastline and the Cleveland Way is on the doorstep. The property is well appointed and comfortable. Restaurant No20 is less than ten minutes walk away and is excellent. Hinderwell is fifteen minutes walk from the property and there you will find The Tea Room and Village Hub which is very good. The butchers shop doubles as the village store. The Brown Cow serves a decent pint of beer. The bus service along the coast is reliable. All in all a perfect location for a relaxing break.

Positive: We needed somewhere to stay in order to attend my father's funeral who lived in Hinderwell so the location was convenient. Negative: The decor. Such a mishmash of styles and masses of random ornaments. Not as clean as I would have liked. A bit tired.

This was great for us and the property worked well and we can recommend it. We had a lovely stay. The views from the house were spectacular. Some fab local walks.

Positive: The view the space very roomy and the beds were very comfortable. Negative: The power cut was a little difficult. But didn’t last long.

Lovely Negative: Toilet didn’t work well and having to stand and hold the bath tap in order to put water in the bath.

Negative: The internet was terrible. I read some reviews before so kind of knew what to expect, but it was even worse than that. And the fees they charged were ridiculous: £90 for cleaning, for instance!!!

Great property but beware the hidden charges Positive: Fantastic apartment - spacious but cosy, and with a perfect location overlooking the bay at Port Mulgrave and down towards Whitby. Negative: The hidden charges imposed by Host and Stay. You either pay for over-priced insurance (£25 for a 3-night stay) or have to leave a deposit of £250, which also carries a £10 non-returnable admin charge. This charge was not even mentioned until we'd paid for our stay.

What a beautiful spot! The apartment was just as described, lovely and clean, everything you would need. The view, well, outstanding!! Walks in every direction, short drives to the most beautiful coastal hideaways. Will definitely be back.
