Comfortable but decor dated We had a comfortable and quiet stay. Nice garden space for guests and dogs. Peaceful location. Good location for Alnwick. Decor dated for example the carpets. Bedroom curtains very thin and would be improved with blackout curtains.

Our stay was excellent apart from the difficulty moving from the car to the premisesér Negative: Though it had been mentioned, we found the distance from the car to the premises difficult as we both walk very badly

Good value for money. Excellent location. Very comfortable. Positive: Plenty of space, very comfortable, everything we needed was provided. Negative: Just s few cobwebs but to be expected in an old property.

A quiet, country cottage feel in a great location. Positive: Quiet and out of the town, set back from the main road so very quiet. A home from home feeling with an entire lodge/cottage at your disposal including a lovely garden area. Very comfortable and with every amenity - microwave, utensils, washing machine and drier. Fantastic location - walkable to the town (or a bus stop outside) and central for days out (Bamburgh Castle, Lindisfarne, Holy Island, the Scottish Border, Berwick on Tweed, Morpeth, Amble, Alnmouth, Seahouses, etc Negative: This lovely property could do with a little modernisation - small details like faded pictures, colour schemes. It has a retro, country cottage feel - which is fine and suits the area - but just felt as though it needed a little TLC.

Positive: Roomy property with a lovely large comfy bed Negative: Maybe a bit further to walk into town than expected but not really too much of an issue for us

Property in a beautiful location and fairly quiet, unfortunately the property is very tired and needs a complete revamp as the pictures online are better than it actually looks.The property needs to keep its character though with any redecorating, carpet and furniture replacements being in character with the property and not modernising.

Positive: Its a spacious property with large rooms full of character and a beautiful garden. It was very comfortable and welcoming.We felt like we were staying with family in a cosy home. Location is great as a base to explore Northumberland.

If only I'd seen the many reviews for this property I would have given it a wide berth. It was dirty, it smelt damp. There were cobwebs in various places and the windows were dirty. The carpets throughout had dirty marks. The wallpaper was old and in places was peeling off the walls. The furniture was out dated and looked like it came from a second hand shop. Nothing in the kitchen matched, all the crockery etc again looked like it had come from a second hand shop. The toilet had a leak which was coming from the waste pipe at the back. According to the owner the property was cleaned the day before I arrived. I only stayed one night instead of the 4 I had paid for. Understandably I will not be recommending this property any time soon

Quiet and comfortable Positive: Very warm and comfortable, everything we needed to relax and feel at home, good location for exploring the area. Negative: The property was a bit tired but it didn't affect our stay.

Traditional lodge dressed similarly. Loved my experience here and I will be back. Great location to explire Northumb Positive: It’s charm and the way it was furnished . Loved the walk to my lodge through the garden. Negative: Not a lot, it was a lovely stay

Positive: The lodge was warm, clean and comfortable, with everything you could need. The comfiest bed 😊

Lovely location, practical but nice apartment, would go again. Positive: The location was lovely. Negative: We were upstairs and the people downstairs were a tad noisy and their dog barked early in the morning.

Spacious, washer and dryer

Good base to explore and relax Positive: The flat was a great location to enjoy Alnwick, the coast nearby and surrounding area for a few days, using public transport. (Bus stop 2 minutes away) The flat was quiet, with all you might need to self-cater. Also, though we didn’t see anyone physically for keys and so on, there was a clear feeling that if we needed anything, it could be organised. Thank you. Negative: We’d read the other reviews beforehand, and it’s true that the flat would benefit from freshening up and updating. However, it’s clean, comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.

Positive: We loved the privacy and quietness of the property as it stood back from the main road and the bushes in the garden made it very private. The accommodation was larger than expected and had everything we needed. The location was great as was central so could visit many places. Negative: Only a minor niggle but smelt a little musty on arrival but soon sorted after leaving windows open. Maybe this could be done on a mire regular basis to solve the problem?

Just had a fantastic week there Positive: The cottage is very comfortable to be in nice little garden area outside to sit and drink or eat rest of the garden is very pleasant the host is extremely friendly and chatty the location to town is perfect also great location for drive outs to the various coastal points 👍👍👍

We had a lovely stay. The accommodation was charming and comfortable Positive: The garden was lovely and private and the accommodation was spacious. Everything we needed, even a washing machine and tumble drier. It was quiet and peaceful. Negative: Nothing really

Quiet & simple property - would recommend Positive: A little difficult to find our property, but lovely in general Negative: The property was very clean, but a little fusty & dated. Nothing a scented candle couldn't sort out

We enjoyed our stay and will be back again , this time on our motorbikes . Positive: We loved the location and ease to get to Alnwick . The welcome pack was a lovely addition and very thoughtful. The lodge reminded me of childhood memories and staying with family . Spacious, comfortable and clean . Garden area was lovely to sit . Storm Floris stopped us going out , yet the flat was cosy and warm . So we relaxed instead . Negative: Wee musty smell , which was easy to sort out with a little air. So not a dislike , just suggestion to leave windows open when cleaning and prepping the flat for guests . I aired every morning so it was just on first arriving. Yet you have to remember it is an old building , which is normal 🥰

This property is best described as a bit quirky and lovely base to see the area . Positive: Great location with parking. Modern tv, dvd, cooker , fridge , washing machine and drier. Very clean and a lovely comfortable bed. The welcome pack was brilliant and it was great to find a parking disc for the town.I know they are only a £1 but it was very thoughtful. Negative: Bathroom needs renovation. Hall floor is uneven and can be difficult to walk along . Sofas need replacing.

Quirky apartment - lovely owners This is a lovely spot to be within a courtyard setting. The surrounding gardens are gorgeous and the owners take care to keep them that way. Would have liked to given full marks across the board but feel can't quite do that because some of the interior decor could do with refreshing. The carpet in the dining area is particularly old fashioned. However, all electrical equipment was up to date and having a washing machine and dryer much appreciated. Combi boiler worked well too so lots of hot water on tap. Good selection of supermarkets are within a short drive and Barter Books is walkable for us bibliophiles!

Mixed feelings about my stay as I appreciated its lovely location and personal touches but wasn't totally at ease wi Positive: The location of the property was excellent with easy access to main roads, shops and places of interest plus it's set in beautiful gardens. It was lovely to find a welcome pack in the kitchen on arrival which was greatly appreciated. Negative: The carpets need replacing as does the sofa. All kitchen pots, pans, cutlery, glass wear etc need to be replaced plus a small saucepan with lid would have been great and defiantly a new roasting tin! Basically some TLC would make this apartment fantastic.

Lovely and large, surrounded by colour Positive: The property is an old building; some may even call it historic, but well maintained. The fixtures and fittings inside the property were reminiscent of the age of the property and added to the flavour of our stay and did not detract from it. That said, all the white goods and electrical equipment was up to date and worked well. We were taken aback by the floor area of our accommodation; the rooms in the Upper Lodge were large, plenty of space and being fully insulated with double glazing, we were quite cosy. The extensive gardens around and about were well kept and colourful. Negative: Driving out onto the road outside is quite tricky; visibility to the right is restricted by a wall; care is needed here.

Loved the Upstairs apartment. The garden too. Happy time apart from the lugging of our bags to premi Negative: We might have been informed that it was not easy for elderly folk to drag their beds to the accommodation. It really was a bit of a grunt for us.

Beautiful surroundings with a big garden, the cottage is hidden away from the road and you don't really hear any road noises. The interior is quite old school and the house needs a good air out for the musty smell to disappear. But other than that a lovely place to stay at.

Cottage is in a lovely location and quite private. it was clean with nice touches such as fresh flowers in the bedroom and lounge. however the first night's sleep was terrible due to a thin, old, lumpy mattress. This was put right the next day by the owners. the kitchen had no boards for cutting and the cutlery was cheap and thin, so thin you could hardly hold it. the whole place needs updatingw with regards to the furniture the settee and chairs hard to sit on, another lamp in the living room. it is old fashioned but we didn't mind that so much. it was just uncomfortable.

Homely place to stay. Positive: We liked the spacious accommodation , the woodland walk gardens, well equipped kitchen. Everything made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Very pleasant hosts. Would recommend bringing a car although with the bus stop being right outside we managed very well. It was a home from home...very cosy, books on the bookshelves etc.

Positive: The location was great. Loads to do in the vicinity. A very relaxed atmosphere.

The accommodation and furnishings are distinctly old fashioned. A little warn out in places, but clean and functional nevertheless. The shower and kitchen equipment worked as they should. The wifi worked when sitting in the living room and the central heating heated the place effectively. Overall, we enjoyed a nostalgic trip back to living in the 1960s with a contemporary twist. Not everyone would like it, but we did.

The property has a tired and shabby feel, with old carpets, bathroom trim coming away, poor lighting in kitchen and poor vaue for money compared with other places we stayed. Watch out for hidden obligatory insurance fee. Wouldn't come back.
