Great place in a fantastic location in Scarborough. Great price for the location - would highly recommend!

Great location, price and accommodation. Would recommend

Some issues with neighbours and weed (not owners issue) Did find lack of repaired in past broken items an issue . One wine glass . One Prosecco glass . No oven grill top for bacon or our lamb chops. Two iron burns on carpet however rest very clean and well maintained . Considering the charge to cover damage it’s clearly taken from us users and when damage done it’s just left as in carpets it hasn’t replaced kitchen breakages . So feels an extra charge for us for the sake of a charge. It’s otherwise good value but some things to readdress I’d say in future

This is a great place to stay. We chose it because the price was ver reasonable compared to others in the area however when we arrived it was certainly not basic. The view from the room is spectacular. The TVs are huge and the bed really comfy so as we love these aspects we loved the stay! X

Firstly the location is brillant, a few things to note: lots of stains and hair on carpet, a towel rail in toilet room would be ideal, left over chips in the floor from previous guest, A coat hooks would be a nice touch and a door matt, Full length mirror Seaside style furnishing too Overall was not cleaning air b and b i’ve stayed in and definitely room for improvement for comfort and home from home More glasses would be nice, maybe dog bowls too would be a nice thouch as it is a dog friendly apartment Comfy bed, and covered essential needs met, could be cleaner

Beautiful apartment, decorated lovely and very clean. Easy to walk into town. Only issue is no parking at property and the lack of kitchen equipment. One glass in property and no tea towels (seems minor but made it a little hard work) Highly recommend and would reconsider rebooking. May not be suitable for people with poor mobility or if you take your older dogs especially if on top floors.

We had a lovely stay in Umpires Watch. It met all our requirements and was clean and tidy. We booked because it was pet friendly and took our Labrador with us. I guess the only downside is that the pet friendly apartment was on the 3rd floor so it meant 4 flights of stairs every time he wanted to go out. Apart from that I have no complaints and would stay again. The local bar is pet friendly and they made us very welcome.

We stayed here a week with my wife and enjoyed it very much. Apartment was very clean, nicely decorated. Everything was as is in the pictures. Steps away from north bay. The only thing missing was washing machine tablets and few more forks and knives maybe. Host left 4-5 dishwasher tablets, it would be nice to have at least one tablet for washing machine. You also need to pay a deposit outside of Airbnb. Overall it was a wonderful stay.

Wow, this is every bit as nice as the reviews day. Very modern and extremely clean. Me and the Mrs really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

A lovely apartment. Needs the heating turning on before guests arrive. Needs soundproofing. Positive: It was a lovely and spacious apartment. Negative: It took about half an hour and two phone calls to get the code for the key lock so we had to sit in the car and wait outside in the cold and dark evening, which was very unpleasant. The heating was turned off when we arrived and it took hours to warm up, especially in the front room, so the first evening was very cold. The apartment was not soundproof at all, so the noise from the couple upstairs was very intrusive.

lovely apartment & great location. however, I stayed for a month and felt like it was missing things for a long stay (kitchen pots/pans, more than 2 forks & knives, cleaning supplies). the hot water also seemed to run out quickly when washing dishes. but the location definitely makes up for those things, the beach is a 5 min walk and there are loads of cafes and shops within 5 min.

Positive: Nice apartment, modern and only a short walk to all the places I needed to go to. Negative: Cleanliness wasn’t that good, bits on the carpet, can tell it hasn’t been hoovered. Dust in some places and hair on the sofa, shower and carpet. Only the cleanliness that was a let down, shame as the apartment was really nice. I reported this to host and stay who said they will get the cleaner to come out, day later still no cleaner so contacted them again and the person I spoke to said they will get someone to come out, by this time it was dark and getting late. I had to go out and buy some cleaning stuff and also paid 30 for a cheap portable hoover as we were staying in the apartment for 5 nights. Really let down by host and stay as we are returning customers and we do recommend host and stay to family and friends.

I had a great week at Umpire's Watch. It's clean, looks great, is well laid out and has everything you'd expect from a modern town/city apartment. What sets it apart from other flats is the view. I was able to watch some great cricket matches, but you don't even have to like cricket to appreciate it as there is always something happening: the groundsman mowing or rolling the grass, different flocks of birds gathering. It was therapeutic! I would happily book again. The only thing I might do differently next time is not take my car - parking in Scarborough is tricky and you'll probably have to use a car park.

Really enjoyed my stay here. The apartment is really nicely set up. The view of the cricket field is really cool.

Had a lovely time here, came to celebrate a one year anniversary and even got a free fireworks show from the cricket ground 😅. Loved that everything was walking distance. Would stay here again

We were not told that the apartments were not mobile friendly and that there were 4 flights of stairs and no lift. They gave us, my mam is 84yrs old with mobility issues, the top floor we were told by the owners friend that the apartment which was smaller than ours on the ground floor was available, we asked very nicely for a swop? however they wanted more money to swop rooms. That would have took the cost over £300 for 2 nights. They put Greed before peoples needs, showing no empathy what so ever. When I informed the host that we had no hot water to wash up or to wash our faces with, the message I received back was a smiley emoji. Overall the apartment was ok but the hosting skills were disgraceful, I would not recommend or ever stay with them again. Dale ,the owner needs to remove Charlie (Charlie is a women) as his go between and find someone who is more approachable and understanding of people’s needs otherwise he’s going to lose a lot of customers with an attitude likes hers

Great stay. We visit Scarborough often as my mother in law lives there. Fantastic modern apartment with views to die for. Lovely and warm and great hosts. Bed was a bit too soft for us. Super clean! We loved it but would prefer a firmer mattress. Thank you

Great place to stay for a couple days, it was perfect over Christmas. We loved that it was pet friend and very clean. Lovely walk from there to the beach or up to Scarborough Castle. Only negative really is that parking was not super close especially factoring some winter weather.

Negative: Not enough cooking pans or cutlery

Absolutely appalling I had to visit a chemist then my gp I got fleas from the filthy sofa and the hosts couldn’t care instead 7days later offer me a 20%discount on a future stay - 100% would not return and would suggest they are reported to health &Safety

overall not bad stay. first impressions was not cleaned the best with excessive dust on hob extractor and smells from the toilet. Nice bed but very uncomfortable as felt like a cheap matress. Shower needs looking at as it either freezes you or gives you 3rd degree burns. Great location and is ideal for a one night stay but wouldn’t recommend for a longer stay

Great location and easy check in

This property did not fit the images on the website and was drearily and sparsely furnished and maintained and smelt damp. Although we had picked it as it had a parking space, this was not the case. We did not stay in the property at all and had to find somewhere else for our weekend break. The property was wet from a water leak running down the wall and the carpet was wet and soggy in a large patch in the main room. The electric sockets were fused as one of the sockets had water running into it. We deemed it unfit and unsafe and uninhabitable, in the circumstances. Now waiting for a decision about giving us our money back, which in the circumstances should have been immediately refunded. Not at all acceptable treatment.

Positive: Loved the comfy bed and decor felt so cosy Negative: If it was being extremely critical I would say the shower wasn’t too clean and a nice touch would be some face clothes and some condiments like salt/vinegar and some washing machine tablets but apart from that it was perfect

Great stay. Wonderful location. Short walk to the beach and town centre. Everything we needed for 4 nights. High ceilings made it a nice and spacious feel. Host and stay very responsive and kept us up to date from booking to check in. Only downside which is for our stay specifically. The occupant that booked the apartment above had a dog that did not sleep. Friday and Saturday nights were tough. Could hear its every move from 7pm to 4am. Shocked to see pets were allowed.

The stay was great. Most things you needed were in the flat. A quick walk to the beach ⛱️

Comfy bed, nice and clean, close to beach but a few stains and marks on the carpet - does not hurt that it’s a nice little cozy place! Thanks for having us!

Modern apartment. Good location for the open air theatre. Nice views of the cricket ground. However, management by Host & Stay was disappointing. I enquired about parking before booking and was told free parking on premises was "secure and conveniently located just a short distance from the property". There was no parking so I had to pay £44 at the NCP ten mins walk away. When I complained I was told "all I can say now is that we apologise". Similarly when the people above us in another apartment, also run by Host & Stay, were making excessive noise, I was told "I can't control the behaviour of others".

Really enjoyed our stay. Perfect view of the cricket ground. Comfortable bed and quiet at night. Would recommend.

Would highly recommend and is a prime location being in Scarborough. Everything is within walking distance from a local shop, beach, restaraunts and much more!! Shower is nice and hot, bed is nice and comfy and a brilliant view onto the cricket field.

Lovely stylish appartment close to everything and easy access to the beach. Positive: Clean, stylish and close to all amenities and attractions Negative: Only just enough pots and pans for cooking and slightly down on glasses ( only one wine glass) if you like to cook from home. Parking is possible in the road if you pick up a disc from the local shop and then you can park outside for a couple of hours for free otherwise you do have to pay in a car park.

Very nice flat. Good location. Bed was very comfy. We went to watch the cricket, and the flat didn’t disappoint for that. The down side was the parking. Does say in the description no parking. But everywhere is disc only, or pay and display. Could be expensive if staying longer than a few days. Please don’t let that put you off. As the flat is lovely.

Great location and nice apartment. Didn't have any coffee unfortunately so you'll just need to bring your own. Also, I can imagine it being really warm in the summer. It was at the high end of bare able when we were there but I do run a bit warm already. But, the view of the cricket pitch is perfect if you want to watch a match. Overall, we'd stay again because it's a great location.

A fantastic stay in a beautiful apartment. The location was perfect — just a short walk to both the town centre and North Beach. The apartment itself was stylish, well-equipped, and spotless. The host was incredibly responsive and made everything easy from start to finish. We’d definitely return — it was a brilliant base for our time away. The only thing missing was the cricket as we would have had a beautiful view from the back window if it had been in, I guess the weather had other plans for that this weekend!

We enjoyed it . Positive: This is the 2 nd time we have stayed in Umpires watch apartment lovely and spacious separate bedroom. Nice and clean . Negative: The guttering needs sorting out when it was raining during the night couldn’t sleep for the noise off the water coming out of gutters .

This was our second time staying here and it did not disappoint. The flat was spotless, in a great location. We will defo be returning.

Really good apartment and loved the location looking out to the cricket pitch. Four flights of stairs to get to the apartment so not great for less mobile people, however was good exercise! Comfortable bed.

We enjoyed our stay at Umpires cottage and it was a great location for the open air theatre. A lovely airbnb that served us well. The kitchen was lacking some basic things and there were not enough glasses, only one wine glass.

Lovely flat which is in a great area, very quiet. Walkable to most areas in Scarborough. I feel upgrades needed to make things better, especially the mattress as you sink in the middle. A few more kitchen essentials would be good as well. Other than that, a lovely stay.

Lovely stay, the flat was very clean and exactly as expected. The host was also very responsive, we couldn’t work the remote to begin with but it need re programming and all was sorted quickly! Would stay again :)

Lovely apartment, there were a few minor things but Dale was responsive when I needed help. The apartment itself was in a perfect location. I did point out a couple of things to Dale which I felt would have helped during our stay but all in all would recommend and would definitely stay here again

Lovely, modern and comfortable air b n b. I had everything I needed for a short stay. Very accessible from the North Bay and local attractions. The only issue was there was only 1 glass provided, and 2 bowls. Might be nice to have more of these things. I didnt park during my visit, but street parking may be challenging in this area so worth confirming if you plan to bring a vehicle. Everything else was great, thank you for an excellent stay!

Home from home Positive: A lovely home from home. Close to all the local amenities. Perfectly clean and had everything we needed. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back soon! Was sad to leave! 2 minute walk from the beach and lovely bars and restaurants. The beds were soooo comfy Negative: Nothing everything was brill

Apartment is really nice. Mattress is very soft but that’s a preference thing. Only issue is lock for front door is a little awkward. Other than that - very good.

Positive: Everything was there to use if required Negative: Iron Mark on carpet , blind had a piece missing, curtains didn't meet when shut, front door key was not opening with ease. I personally thought that it was not as newly refurbished as stated but was OK.

We teally enjoyed our stat and foubnd the apartment very well situated We will not be returning to the property because of the steep stairs. ( this was mentioned in the details ) we thought we would manage easier than we did. No fault of Host and Stay. The only small problem was that the heated towel rail was not working

Relaxing. Negative: Too many E-mails

This is a corporate. I had to send a picture, a video to an email after talking to a customer care person and then i had to call them again and then the customer care guy luckily managed to tell me how many times to rotate the lock key to get the keys to the room. All this i had to do standing outside for an hour making customer care calls and trying to add the video to the email, standing in the bad weather. This was such a small issue otherwise. The kitchen did not have cleaning scrub. Summary- beautiful property but managed by a corporate call centre.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Umpires Watch. The apartment was clean and easy to find / access from the clear instructions provided. The bed was one of the comfiest I’ve stayed in. Lovely for a small weekend away. Thanks for hosting!

Stayed in this block for the 2nd time but first time in this appartment. very smart, spotlessly clean and good spot for a great pub and chip shop. would definitely stay here again

The apartment was as the pictures showed and we very much enjoyed our trip to Scarborough. Positive: The location was good and the apartment was very well furnished. A very quiet apartment on our first night. Negative: Loads of stairs to climb that were not mentioned. The kitchen was well furnished but had very few utensils for cooking and no instructions were included. Seems mainly suited for takeaways. The dog running around constantly in the attic apartment above meant we had disturbed evenings.

Disappointed. Never return or recommend. No communication until after paid for break.(deposits and parking) Positive: Bedroom. Location. Negative: Very uncomfortable settee. Shower room stunk of drains, sealant filthy, shower was Luke warm( needs new). Extraction fans dirty. Bits of old food in sink and fridge. Communal area dirty. Communal bin directly outside property on main road, the only property to do this( not a good impression)paying for parking(rip off)

nice property had a good time Positive: Clean, lovely and comfortable. Good location for north bay, Peason park, mini railway and Sea life. 10 minutes to main shops. 15 minute walk to sea life. Smart modern apartment. Plenty of car parks near by. Would stay again if Wifi connection improved, otherwise would score a 9 Negative: We chose secure parking which was pre booked lets just say not straight forward. We were on third floor so not good for older people. Some sound transfer from flat above but not enough to be a issue. Busy road. Very quiet where we slept. Wifi did not work whilst we were there.

Poor admin processes. Positive: Location, great for attending events at the Open air theatre Negative: Hassle with check-in due to additional insurance fee and poor administration processes with Host & Stay. Even though we advised 10 days prior we had completed as asked, I still had to spend an hour on the day of check-in to prove payment to be given access.

lovely place to stay, views over the cricket field and Scarborough were beautiful. just be wary that there are additional charges on top of what you pay AirBnB.

This flat is in such a great location and a lovely place to unwind after days wandering through Scarborough.
