Tithe is a beautiful cottage in the Majestic Village of Kirkby Overblow. This is one of my favourite locations in Yorkshire, a stunning village in close proximity to the magnificent Harrogate and not far from Leeds or York. You have the Dales on your doorstep not to mention the views of wonderful fields. The cottage is lovely and cosy, tastefully furnished and very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage and would happily go back.

Lovely location with great views of green fields and sheep. Great pub very close for meals. The cottage was comfortable. Communication with Host and Stay was very good and prompt action was taken on one issue that we had. Would happily stay there again.

We were blown away by thecottagex location & and furnishings. Positive: Lovely location, great space, a very nice outside space with a well maintained, attractive garden. Very comfortable beds and loved the number of bathrooms … really useful when we were all getting ready for a wedding. Negative: Cottage could have been warm when we arrived and we would have appreciated milk and bread!

Idyllic. Positive: Gorgeous cottage with stunning garden and modern facilities but with an oldy worldy feel and some cute quirks. Perfect location, lovely village, close to Wharfedale Grange where we attended a dear friend’s wedding. The Shoulder of Mutton pub had fantastic food & friendly staff if you need a place to eat, only a 1 minute walk down the road.

Tithe Cottage is very clean and nicely equipped. We especially enjoyed the sunny sitting room that opens into the enclosed back yard garden.The location was perfect for exploring my family's ancestoral village and Spofforth Castle. We enjoyed a day York, plus a visit to Betty's in Harrogate.There is easy access to delightful countryside walking paths. The Kirkby Overblow local pub, Shoulder of Mutton, is within a quite short walking distance. It's very welcoming, with great food.Thanks to Charlie for hosting us at Tithe Cottage. We would come again!

We had a lovely stay at Tithe cottage. The cottage is beautiful, comfortable and super clean. The garden is private and a really safe space for young children. The bedrooms are large with very comfortable beds. The area is peaceful but easy to visit nearby Harrogate. Charlie was very helpful and easy to reach before our arrival and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay at this property. Would also rebook ourselves in a heartbeat. Thank you for a fab stay.

Peaceful and calm surroundings comfortable and clean cottage I definitely recommend this and I thought it was fantastic Positive: Spacious clean and airy had extra bathrooms and really comfortable beds. Nicely decorated spacious kitchen as well. And private parking which was fantastic because we came to the disabled adult we will definitely return. Negative: There was nothing that we didn’t like.

We enjoyed the stay and it served our purpose well but we felt that there could be improvements Positive: Breakfast was not provided but not expected. The location was very good in a very pleasant village and a garden with superb views over the countryside. Nicely located for access to a local inn with good food. Negative: The ensuite walk in shower was unsafe, in that there was no shower mat and no grab handles. As the floor of the shower is perfectly smooth it was slippery when in use. Particularly so for older people. No shelving or racks to place soap and shampoo on, therefore it was necessary to put these on the floor and bend to access them. This also applied to the bathroom used by the adjacent bedroom. Furnishing, particularly the chairs in the dining room. The tub chairs required refurbishment and the dining chairs all required repair to the seats. It was frustrating to receive so much contact from the hosts via email and text. Hoping we were enjoying our stay and veiled threats about what must and must not be done.

Gorgeous cottage but damp and dusty in places. Positive: Beautiful, spacious cottage! It was very warm and the beds were comfy. The garden was also lovely. We really enjoyed joyed our stay here. The location was perfect- a lovely village next to a nice pub and only 10 minutes from Harrogate and Knaresborough. Negative: Unfortunately there is quite a significant damp problem in the cottage which is a health risk, particularly for us as I'm pregnant and have a young toddler. Thankfully, I brought my inhaler. The cottage was very clean in the main areas but there were some forgotten areas eg. Next to the beds, under bedside tables, in draws etc (all the places my toddler likes to explore) that had huge clumps of dust and cobwebs.

We had such a wonderful stay in Kirkby Overblow. I knew the village well anyway but was blown away by how wonderful the cottage was. It was far more spacious than I expected (plenty of space for travel cot in the main bedroom) and everything was in immaculate condition. Despite the wet and miserable weather, the cottage was warm and cosy and delightful. We will definitely be back! Our 4 yr old twins are already asking when we can go back to our Yorkshire house 😀! We also had a lovely family meal with cousins and grandparents at the shoulder of mutton, just next door! Playground in Kirkby Overblow also has the best views of any playground I’ve ever been to (… which is a lot!) - we spent almost a whole day there 😂

Beautiful cottage in lovely surroundings, the view from the back was stunning. Just the place for a peaceful New Years break, really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful , quaint country cottage. Felt like ‘Home’ Perfect prelude get away break before Christmas. Added bonus of having a fantastic local pub only two doors down with an unspoilt charm and character , log fires and exceptional food! Will definitely be visiting again .

We LOVED our stay in Tithe Cottage. Very atmospheric, beautifully decorated and in a fabulous location. We were three generations staying in the property from 85 years to 17 years old and we all loved it. We hope to return!

It was just what I wanted, peacefulness, privacy, beautiful surroundings. Positive: Idyllic location overlooking the countryside, in a tiny village with a pub and church, but no shops ! The cottage was delightful, ultra-clean, comfortable, with beautiful bedrooms, everything one could require - I was there for 2 weeks. Lovely garden + parking facilities, just a few minutes' drive to Harrogate. Negative: Nothing to declare…

This idyllic cottage set on the edge of a really pretty village with a good pub was a perfect location for us even though we were working in Harrogate every day. The house is lovely with a beautiful interior and a really sweet well maintained garden. There is off street parking and easy access and everything that you could need is provided in this adorable cottage. There is a lovely pub just up the road and a short drive to many local attractions. Longing to return!

Comfortabel huis, centraal gelegen met een mooi uitzicht. Prima uitvalsbasis om de Dales te ontdekken. Positive: Gezellig ingericht huis, met een prachtig uitzicht op de weide met schapen. Gelegen in een klein dorpje met een gezellige pub,op loopafstand, waar je heel goed kunt eten. Huis is gelegen in een rustige omgeving. Comfortabele bedden. Negative: Puntje van aandacht is dat in 1 slaapkamer deels bij het voeteneind een schuin dak is waardoor langere mensen niet rechtop kunnen lopen. De 2 losstaande bedden zijn 1.90m lang. De deur van de koelkast draait naar de verkeerde kant open waardoor het gebruik ervan ongemakkelijk is.

An attractive cottage in a very quiet pretty village. The local pub is a couple of minutes walk away and was very welcoming with a good menu. The cottage was comfortable for our group of 4 adults and a baby. We enjoyed sitting in the garden early evening to enjoy the views over the fields and relax. The only negatives for us were the television had no live programs, so watching the England match on itv was difficult until we got hold of a chrome cast. The bedroom window was stuck so we never actually opened it in the extremely warm weather. Overall it was a great bolthole for 4 days meeting up with family.

Super stay at Tithe Cottage. The description for the listing is accurate. Good location for exploring nearby towns. Very comfortable beds, good linen and towels. Having a pub a short walk away is a real bonus.

Lovely location and accommodation Positive: The location is very good. The accommodation is perfect. An absolute treasure, lovely and quiet with an amazing garden. We really liked it. Negative: The only downside was the TVs didn't work. We did inform at the time but it was not resolved in our weekend stay. But this did not spoil our visit.

Tithe Cottage was a peaceful, beautifully cool hideaway in idyllic Kirby Overblow, perfect for relaxing and exploring Positive: We truly struck gold with our stay at Tithe Cottage. The village of Kirby Overblow is wonderfully peaceful — the kind of place filled with beautiful homes you can’t help but dream of owning. We were lucky enough to visit during the May Bank Holiday heatwave, yet the cottage stayed beautifully cool throughout. Mornings were a highlight: sitting in the breakfast room with the sun streaming in through the double patio doors, watching sheep graze in the fields beyond. Pure calm. The cottage itself is extremely well appointed for two couples, with each bedroom having its own bathroom, a well‑equipped kitchen, and a comfortable separate lounge. It’s also the perfect base for exploring the surrounding area. A truly memorable stay. Negative: One of the garden benches around the table was badly broken and unusable needs to be removed as not safe

Tithe Cottage, Kirby Overblow was very cosy & very clean, very well located for the Shoulder of Mutton pub which served excellent meals. A handy location for walking & visiting places in the region & nice to see the sheep in the field over the garden wall, a real country scene.

We had a lovely long weekend staying at Tithe Cottage. This quaint cottage is beautifully presented and very well equipped, with everything you could need. The beds were especially comfortable, making for a very relaxing stay. A real highlight was the stunning view from the back, overlooking picturesque fields—it was truly a joy to wake up to each morning. The nearby “Shoulder of Mutton” pub was excellent for food, and as someone who is coeliac, I was very impressed by the great range of options available. The cottage is ideally located for exploring the surrounding areas, including Harrogate, Knaresborough, and Skipton, to name just a few. We would definitely recommend Tithe Cottage and look forward to returning in the future.

Perfect house!

We really enjoyed our weekend break in Tithe cottage because , in terms of location and accommodation, the cottage met all our requirements. The Hosts kept in regular contact and gave us lots of information about the cottage. It would be nice to return in the Spring or Summer, which I expect we will.

Brilliant stay!

This is a well located cottage with great views and nice internal layout. It was warm on arrival and we would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Harrogate and Rudding Park spa - both of which we enjoyed and are on the doorstep.

Beautiful cottage set in a gorgeous location. Decor was amazing and photos did not do the cottage justice!

Very comfortable, relaxing and peaceful. It was perfect for our trip to visit family in Otley and Harrogate so will not hesitate in booking again. I rarely do reviews but this one was worth it. Dale was very quick to respond to my messages to confirm our late arrival and when we were leaving and was very polite and friendly. I can’t recommend this lovely cottage enough.

A lovely cottage, with a beautiful garden. Kitchen was very well equipped with everything you could need. Sofas were comfy and the beds were comfortable. Great bathroom/shower rooms. We had great weather so no need for heating. Soft furnishings were perfect. The village was lovely and the pub food was lovely. Cotton bedding and fluffy pillows.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage, marred only by lack of information about the appliances. Positive: Beautiful well furnished cottage with lovely outlooks. Good pub close by. Negative: The cottage ‘guidebook’ had to be downloaded and was incomplete. No information about appliances, heating controls or the local area. There was no information book in the cottage.

A beautiful cottage. The garden was a great bonus. Full of character but with excellent facilities and modern bathrooms. We loved Kirkby Overblow and the food in the pub.

Aside from the chilly arrival (very cold evening and the cottage is heated with electric heaters that you need to turn on when you arrive) everything was lovely. Very comfy beds and modern bathrooms. Tip…. Take a pint of milk as there’s no shop in the village.

Our visitors from Sweden stayed in the cottage, it’s very comfortable and cosy. They felt at home with the surroundings. The cottage offered everything they needed. They have requested to stay there next time!

We enjoyed our stay and overall were very happy with our accommodation. Positive: The location was very good. It was great having a pub so close and distance from the main town was good. Once we had managed how to work the heating the cottage was very cosy. Beds were really comfortable and the bathrooms were excellent. Great showers. Negative: The cleanliness could have been better. There was a lot of dust particularly in the kitchen area. Not enough towels. Only one large and one small towel per guest wasn’t enough,

Fijne locatie Positive: Tithe Cottage ligt in een prachtig gebied. De Cottage kijkt uit op een glooiend landschap. De tuin is keurig onderhouden en de pub Shoulder of Mutton een aanrader. Er is een prettig keukentje. De bedden prima en de badkamers waren goed. Negative: Ondanks de aankondiging was er geen open haard. Het tapijt in de woonkamer en slaapkamers is niet schoon en ook de bekleding van banken en stoelen is aangetast.

Lovely cortage, great location for visiting Leeds, Harrogate and the Yorkshire Dales. Good food in the nearby village pubs.

Loved the house and the surroundings The house was very nice and the village as well. You definitely need a car since there is nothing nearby except for the local pub. The TV was not working when we arrived but it was just a cable connection under a carpet that I could fix myself after some detective work. We didn't manage to get the towel dryers to work and couldn't find any book with instructions for the house. We found two Atlantic sender units where one needed new batteries but they were not connected to the towel rails as they should be or possibly there was no electricity to the towel rails at all. The kitchen was great with everything you needed and it was lovely to sit outside in the morning for breakfast when the sun was shining. Very good to have multiple bathrooms and the car parking.

Disappointed Positive: It would have been perfect if it had been clean Negative: It was badly needing cleaned. Cobwebs and dust everywhere. Freezer dirty bin in the kitchen dirty. Windows have not been cleaned in months.

Appalled by insistence of host and stay insurance and personal ID requirements. Negative: Difficult lower door lock.

A wonderful stay in Yorkshire Tithe cottage gives the quintessential Yorkshire experience. It is cosy and comfortable with lovely views over the countryside. It is located in a delightful village with a great pub just steps away. Highly recommended.

Pretty Cottage with Lovey Garden and Views This is a lovely, comfortable, well presented and well equipped cottage in quiet pretty village surrounded by beautiful countryside. There is everything you need for a relaxing stay with comfortable beds and great facilities.

We were visiting Harrogate and found that the cottage was in an ideal location about 15 minutes drive from the centre o Positive: Fabulous views across the Yorkshire countryside, beautiful garden. Very clean and tidy cottage with everything we wanted for a comfortable stay. Negative: Nothing that I can think of, except perhaps that I couldn’t find a teapot in the well equipped kitchen.

This is a beautiful very spacious cottage in a delightful quiet village location.

This property is in a fabulous location with a very friendly local pub which serves excellent food and holds a fun quiz on Sunday evenings (NB closed on Mondays!) The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is clean and modern and the sunny lounge has a fabulous view of the garden and fields. The property also has 3 bathrooms! Would recommend to anyone who wants a quiet break in beautiful Yorkshire.

Positive: the cottage was lovely and well proportioned. The location was ideal for our trip and the local pub served hood food and drink. Very quiet at night and we all slept soundly in our comfy beds. Negative: Could have done with more than one door key, but it wasn't a big deal

A great place to stay to relax and enjoy the beautiful countryside! Positive: Tithe Cottage is set in a beautiful village on the outskirts of Harrogate. Easily accessible, it has stunnning views overlooking fields and countryside. The garden is a haven of relaxation. Negative: During our stay the weather was amazing, as a result we spent a considerable amount of time outdoors in the beautiful garden. The outdoor furniture however was very worn apart from a new bench outside the back door. We couldn’t eat at the table and chairs on the patio as they were very dirty, old and without cushions.

Thanks for a brilliant stay. The cottage is lovely. The setting is beautiful and the views amazing. We loved the mixture of old and new. Modern kitchen and bathrooms but very tasteful antique furniture and objects. Everything about the village was fantastic. We will definitely visit again.

We had a lovely holiday in a beautiful area. Positive: The house and garden were fine, location great. The garden is beautiful. Negative: No-one had emptied the bins for some time. We arrived on a Tuesday and bin day was a Monday. On entering the property it’s not a good first impression to be greeted by overflowing rubbish and a box of empty bottles which you pass to the front door. We were unable to get anything in the bin so put the rubbish bag outside, where it may be ripped open by wildlife (foxes?). Also the first paving stone to the path looks as though it has recently been broken and is very loose. Lots of parents park opposite at school times so this may have been caused by someone reversing. Most of the garden furniture could do with painting and some of it is falling apart.

Beautiful place - everything is as described. The check in was smooth and cleanliness was spot-on. The main bedroom size was amazing and the views from the living room were great too. Highly recommended.

A lovely characterful cottage in a beautiful location with stunning views across fields. There is an excellent local pub a very short walk away. Furniture, kitchen equipment and beds/bedding all to a good or high standard. A real bonus and sign of a well run property was provision of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and store cupboard essentials as well as milk, tea & coffee etc. Altogether highly recommended.

Positive: large property & cosy inside near to Harrogate town centre but need a car nice pub 1 minute walk away peaceful location good value for money Negative: need a car if you need a local shop house could do with a proper clean- cobwebs etc inside kitchen cupboard not clean on arrival. need more information in the visitors book about which colour bin to use for recycling could not get the heating to work in the downstairs toilet

Beautiful cottage - well equipped and comfortable. Located in a quiet village - near a great pub. Good communication from hosts and quick response to our query. Easy drive to many of the Yorkshire Dales sights. Highly recommended

Appalling - Will never use these again Positive: I liked the fact the house alarm went off in the middle of the night and when I called for assistance all I was told was that they had sent a message to someone and they would be in touch. The alarm went off at 12 at night and I was a Email at 1430 the following day. Negative: Our stay was ruined by the house alarm going off in the middle of the night, i got zero help and didn't stay the second night as I still didn't have a code for the alarm..

A beautiful, spacious and extremely well appointed and comfortable cottage. The views were astounding, the village was gorgeous and we felt extremely at home.

lovey stay Positive: The cottage was lovely. The beds were very comfortable and it was wonderful to have three bathrooms. The kitchen was very well equipped too. The pub about 100yards away serves delicious meals if you don’t want to cook. Negative: nothing.

Despite a few negative responses, we would stay here again. I would recommend it. Positive: The cottage was large and comfortable. Plenty of sofas/comfy chairs in the main room. The bathrooms were very modern. The underfloor heating in the bathrooms was lovely. The bedrooms were lovely - the main bedroom was gorgeous. The location was wonderful - a great, quiet village, with a pub one minute walks away (good food too) - make sure you book, as they were turning people away on a Wednesday night. Close to Harrogate and other areas; we visited Ripley Castle and the Stump Cross Caverns. This cottage would be lovely to visit in the Summer months too, as there is a nice private garden. Negative: None of the radiators worked in the 2nd sitting room, so consequently, we did not use it, or the downstairs toilet, which was a shame. We switched all of the other ones on which were fine, apart from the top of the stairs. Had it been Summer, this would not have been an issue. The towel rails in both bathrooms did not come on. The glass fitted light shade in the family bathroom needed cleaning out (full of dead flies and some fell out). I would have expected this to be done, when paying a £60 cleaning fee.

Would definitely return for another stay. Positive: Needed a bit more cleaning. A few cobwebs and dead wasps, kitchen bin a bit dirty, oven gloves had food on. No bin liners in two bins. Main bed very soft. Got a sore back. Blind in ensuite doesn't cover window so people can see in. Had to put a towel against window. Negative: Loved everything else. Generally very clean, gorgeous, cozy and well equiped property. Great instruction from hosts. Lovely location. We'd definitely go back again.
