This is at least our 5th stay at this accommodation due to the location and that the bedrooms/bathrooms suit our family dynamics. At the previous stay some parts of the house were looking tired but it was obvious that since then some maintenance had taken place which we appreciated. Kitchen fully equipped with everything needed. Fantastic view from the upstairs lounge,kitchen. Pub’s, Cafe’s, restaurant’s, shop’s and all the sight's, thing’s to do are within easy walking distance of the property.

Was a very enjoyable stay in lovely accommodation, would stay again and would recommend. Positive: The location was excellent. Very well equipped. Comfortable accommodation. It was nice to have two en-suite shower/bathrooms. Bedrooms were nice and big. The balcony was lovely and view of Whitby from there was beautiful. Heating worked well and plenty of hot water. Perfect for our family of 7 and a toddler. Being able to park one of our cars in garage was great help as parking on the road wasn’t easy. Negative: The carpets and rug in lounge do have lots of old dried stains on them but on the whole the Townhouse was clean. There was also handles missing off the twin bedroom and the bathroom on middle floor.

Lovely property, poor communication from the letting company Positive: The house was very nice. Clean and spacious rooms, good facilities in the kitchen etc, nice location. Negative: I wouldn't stay in a 'Host and Stay' property again. Was unimpressed with the communication, originally told we would get check in details 7 days before, chased them 4/5 days before to be told we'd get them the day before (unhelpful for a large property with different families joining as it delayed communication to the group. Also asked at this point about the number of keys we'd get and never got an answer. Come the day before check in what I actually recieved was a demand for more money for a security deposit which was unexpected and further delayed us getting any useful check in info and was an unexpected cost. Not happy! Finally all ready to go, gets to the property to find 2 damaged door handles. Responses were quick but not helpful and I suspect at least a few were AI generated. No attempt to make repairs actually happened during our stay.

Positive: We had a fabulous time in this lovely house, its our second time here, its perfect for a great family catch up everything we needed. Hopefully we'll be back here next year.

Lovely accommodation in a great location. Positive: The location was great. The property was perfect for our family and the garage was a bonus too. Lovely view from the apartment. Negative: The bathrooms on the middle floor could do with some refurbishment. The main bathroom appears to have a leak.

Time consumed by texting and ringing Host & Stay complaining instead of family time. Positive: Location/balcony & beds were good Negative: I will put a more detailed description later but if you are in this property now I feel sorry for you, front ensuite floor grimy, bathroom overflows-informed Host & Stay immediately with no response so I rang them about the kitchen bin/cupboard smelt of sick and was told it had been bleached then told I could go in the cupboard and throw it away-I did not want to touch it, toaster does not work and other things broken. pairs of pants and socks in the drawers (not ours)-Host & stay do not care-they have your money! The £10 admin fee to take your money is a scam I have complained as all of this has made our stay here ruined they will not return my damage money until up to 14 days when it was clearly cleaned yesterday! Ive seen other complaints and a fob off replies from Host & stay saying sorry. If this is your property get rid of Host & Stay! They are running it into the ground and could not care less about you or the people staying there.

Unclean, safety issues very dissapointing Positive: Location Negative: It was unclean, bins not emptied, nuts left on the floor, holes In the bedding, mould in two showers, carpet have not been hoovered, ashtrays full of cigarettes, stick substance on the sofa. We had to fully clean the property on arrive to use it. There was No blind in the lounge so unable to sit on the sofa due to the sun. There was lots of noice from the pub and house next door. The front door is not safe for kids as they can turn the lock and get out it’s not a key lock I rang to complain with no answer, I emailed a Complaint which took well over 24 house and they offered me a cleaner at 5pm the night before leaving. I I was asked to submit a complaint via email which I did, I was then asked to submit a the same information on a complaint form, meaning my complaint had been submitted via phone, messaging service email And a complaint form. It is not over a month since we have been and my complaint has not been resolved and I am not getting a response to me email sent over a week ago. When paying over £200+ a night is not the condition or service I expect to receive.

Positive: The location was perfect and our view from the townhouse was fantastic. The kitchen had all amenities needed. Negative: Could have done with an extra key because we were 4 adults and a child who wanted to be more flexible. Some shower caddys would be useful for guests to store their toiletries. One of the showers had a notice not to shower for long as drainage slow which needs attention.

We had a wonderful stay and couldn’t have been more comfortable. The house was warm, spacious, and perfect for our group. The views from the lounge were absolutely stunning and something we particularly enjoyed. We would happily rebook and hope to return again.

Great for sharing with friends or family Positive: Spacious apartment ,good quality furnished. There are no hills to climb to access property. Fully equipped kitchen. 2 bedrooms onsuite. Televisions in some bedrooms. Nice view, and balcony . Good blinds and curtains. Negative: There was some attention to detail missing which you would not expect for the price paid. Door handles were loose or missing, with a hole filled in with toilet paper on the bathroom with no handle at all. The mirror did not work in the bathroom. The kettle was in need of a descale. Only one key is provided, so it made it a bit awkward in having to keep arranging to meet up.

The five of us had a great time . Fantastic views and easy walk into the centre of Whitby. House is fantastic and well layed out and very welcoming and comfortable and garage is a bonus. We got all our bikes in with ease and nice and secure and would highly recommend for staying in Whitby and touring the area and would definitely book again for another visit to Whitby and Yorkshire!

Positive: We had a great stay. The house was comfortable, beautifully furnished and had everything we needed. The view from the living room and the front bedroom was fantastic! The house was in a great location and very close to the town. Negative: Even with the heating off, the house was very warm, particularly in the twin room. It would be good to be able to open the skylight or have the use of a fan. Another toilet roll in the main bathroom please as it is shared between 4 people .

3 nights goth weekend Positive: Very comfortable everything you would need. Great location Negative: Clothes were left in drawers. . Pink stain on stairs carpet. Large cobweb next to front door. So cleaning could of been better

Fabulous accommodation, every bedroom well furnished and comfy. Showers great and bath tub filled up so quickly. House heated up immediately, lovely view out across the harbour. Christmas tree right outside as high as the balcony! Probably should point out can’t park outside the garage, we had a parking ticket after a few hours. Would book again without hesitation.

Whitby Again Positive: Spacious kitchen/dining table and sitting room with balcony big enough for 8 people. Negative: Cafetiere was broken! Plus I couldn't find a sieve nor colander. No shelf in bathroom which was a pain for toothbrush n toothpaste n deodorant etc etc. Elaborate bathroom sink. Garage quite a neat fit for my car.

Positive: Lovely location overlooking the river, loved the bifold doors, 4 good sized bedrooms with good facilities. Good for parking, clear instructions for entry. Negative: Cleanliness wasn't exceptional, clearly visible pieces of rubbish left around on floor, dusty in places and muddy marks on balcony glass. Shortage of wine glasses and tumblers. Hob very temperamental, turns off randomly during cooking so very hard to cook a meal for 6 people.

ok Negative: Lack of WIFI , not sorted even though called to sort , door handles hanging off 2 of the bedrooms , dirty walls & carpets on landing & stairs , needs some TLC , we come every year so have noticed a decline in maintenance.

Positive: The view was fantastic and loved the house. Negative: Wifi and TV, but still had a great time and for what we paid for 8 of us was a bargain

Positive: The property is great, we were retuning as a family. Everyone loves the view plenty of space and has all equipment you could need and comfortable beds. It's in a good place. Negative: General cleanliness let it down this year and in the book of reviews in the property several guests had stated the same. The showers were really dirty and my family bought cleaning products and mould spray to clean them. I had a duvet with a massive stain on it but luckily there was a new duvet in the cupboard so I switched it. Some of the pans had been put into the cupboard dirty and not cleaned.

A lovely house in a great location with the added bonus of parking for one car. The house was clean and tidy and had enough basic facilities including some spare bedding if needed. The house needs a little TLC in places and there were a few issues such as a broken door handle, broken microwave and no wi fi/ tv. What was disappointing was that, from comments in the visitors book, previous guests had reported these issues as far back as August and nothing had been done. Host and Stay did respond quickly to emails but were unable to resolve the issue of the lack of Wi-Fi during the time we were there. As we were only there for 3 nights it didn’t spoil our stay and we would definitely return to Whitby again.

GREAT STAY IN WHITBY HAS ALWASYS TOWN HOUSE WAS A LET DOWN APART FROM THE FAB VIEW Positive: great location with fab views which is what sells this property at first glance ,comfy bed great showers .and also parking for one small car Negative: had no tv or internet for three days when connecting to wifi it kept taking you to BT site that wanted owners log in details . .damage to door handles .toaster only worked on one side .down stairs bedroom window didn't open and broken microwave in kitchen .these problems where also highlighted in the guest book by other people going back to august .so it not acceptable that we are spending our stay on the phone to host and stay and nothing is being done this home needs some TLC

Property was filthy, would never stay with Host and Stay again. Positive: The location was great Negative: Bedding was filthy, brown and yellow stains on pillows, pillow cases, duvets, sheets etc, floors had not been cleaned so our socks were dirty, staircase bannister woodwork was sticky and greasy, every surface was dusty, all cushions and sofas were marked and stained. These issues were not fully resolved by Host and Stay despite over 18 calls being made during our first three days. Each time I called them, I had to explain why I was calling and was promised that someone would call back. Which didn't happen until very late into our second day. It became an extremely stressful experience. Two family members drove home as they didn't have bedding on the first night. House maintence should have simply been sent immediately to do a full re clean and sort out any dirty/stained bedding. Instead we were made promises that were not kept, just so that we would stay at the property. The property was not cleaned during our stay (I cleaned a lot of it myself just so that we could sleep there). We decided to leave a day early as we did not want to spend any time in the living or kitchen spaces. I raised the issue and sent photos to Host and Stay customer resolutions team. They offered £100 refund and tried to close the case. We paid over £1000 for the stay. Host and Stay also claimed in writing that we stayed for the full duration and that the issues were solved at the start of our stay. Which is completely incorrect and quite insulting. This case is now ongoing. We are chasing this and have taken legal advice. We would never, ever use Host and Stay again. After 15 years of using self catering holiday stays, we have never experienced such a filthy property and such a lack of professionalism from a management company.

Positive: The living space was particularly good! The bi-fold doors over the harbour onto the balcony was a real highlight. We found the location to be perfect for us too. Nice and quiet with a flat and easy walk into the centre.

Comfortable house in great location. Positive: The location, view & facilities very roomy and having the garage was great for the motorbikes Negative: Cleaning wasnt great cobwebs on ceilings, dust along headboards & empty milk & sugar sachets and dirty cups in downstairs bedroom. Could have done with more than 1 key in an 8 person house.

We would still stay here if we return to Whitby. Positive: We loved the views - the top floor over the harbour is magical. Rooms are great and it was perfect for our family of 7. Close to city center but nice and quiet. Negative: It was decidedly unclean. We were offered a recleaning but we only had four nights and we wanted to focus on holiday. Plus - so much was filthy that we didn’t have much confidence in the cleaning crew. We are Scandinavian and might have different standards but even taking that into account, this was pretty bad. Also. A coffee makers is listed on the property and even though we asked for one immediately, we never received one. And the walk to a coffee shop is annoying when you’d like to be able to make your own coffee in your relatively expensive holiday home.

I would highly recommend this accommodation hope to return next year. Downside was the parking we had 2 cars the garage space for one the other ended up driving round for ages looking for a spot hence draw back booking school holidays

Very enjoyable and comfortable stay in a quality modern property. Positive: Excellent property, great location with superb views over the River Esk and the harbour. 5/10 minutes easy walk into town centre. Very comfortable and spacious, easily accommodated our party of 7 adults. Excellent facilities, including bathrooms and well-equipped kitchen. Negative: Parking limited to one car in integral garage. Electronic garage door not working, but could be operated manually. Any other vehicles have to be parked in pay and display car parks several minutes walk away.

The view from the balcony was absolutely stunning, especially in the evening. Sitting out there with a drink, watching the light fade, was one of the highlights of our stay. The location is perfect—close to everything we needed, which made getting around easy and stress-free. It was also great for the kids, with plenty nearby to keep them entertained. Overall, a lovely place to relax, unwind, and enjoy both the scenery and the convenience.

Great location. Just fell a little short of expectations. Could benefit from a deep clean, very dusty in areas and the stairs hadn’t been hoovered. When we first entered there was a very strong smell which I discovered the next day to be a crabbing bucket with bait left in the corner of the garage! As previously mentioned by others the garage is tight for size but we did manage to fit a Nissan qashqai in (issues with the door fob but the host did respond quickly), parking isn’t readily available close by it was very busy all the time even though we were out of season. There was no noise from the pub next door but the road outside the property was a lot busier than I had expected so if you’re not used to road noise it will be very noticeable. The view from upstairs is the selling point of the property and its location means all of Whitby is within walking distance.

This is a great property in an excellent location with good views. It does need a bit of a refresh and we would expect a coffee machine, bathroom soap etc if this is advertised as a luxury stay. I think the listing should note that the garage is only suitable for a small car also. It could and should be a great stay and wouldn’t take much for this to be a five star listing

Excellent property,would stay again. Positive: It was in a great location. It had all facilities you could ever need. Beds were comfy and the bi fold doors with the view were an excellent feature. Definitely stay again. On entry first bedroom has a sofa bed, double bed and ensuite with bath. Upstairs you have a twin and double bedroom they share an ensuite with a shower. There's another doubleroom with windows to the boats on the water this has a shower en suite too. Kitchen has all facilities and crockery needed. Fridge and freezer, dishwasher. Table and chairs to sit on the balcony too. There's a washer dryer downstairs. The garage is for a small car only. Street parking available if you can get parked otherwise there's a paid carpark down the road. Negative: Could have been slightly cleaner but appreciate the cleaners have a quick turn around.

Top quality property in great location badly let down by a poor management company Positive: The location was great. Very high quality property with stunning harbour views Negative: Poor management. The instructions to find the key box were missing and the property did not have a house number - you would not guess that 24b was the left hand property!! Took several phone calls and 45 mins to get access. We then found the family bathroom door was jammed shut. It then took many more phone calls to get this sorted at 11 at night. Host and stay are a very large property management company and you have to go through their call centre who seemed powerless to do anything. The downside of the great location is that parking for additional cars is an expensive nightmare and the garage is only good for a small car.

The Townhouse exceeded our expectations. Very spacious, spotlessly clean, great location with fabulous views of the harbour. We will definitely stay here again.

Negative: One loo roll per bathroom not enough. Pillows a little lumpy. No welcome pack or instructions for hob and microwave. No sky TV even though advertised.

Nice place overlooking harbour, walkable into Whitby and close to all amenities and attractions.

Lovely house would definitely go back again. Pub next door was very good too and closes about 11 . Could not hear any no Positive: It’s a lovely modern apartment with full facilities and the downstairs bedroom has a settee , tea and coffee making facilities and a microwave. Second floor lovely double en-suite bedroom , plus a double and a twin sharing a bathroom. Third floor lovely view an seating area and kitchen Negative: Gave up getting in the garage. It’s only suitable for a very small car.

We loved staying at this house. It was very easy to get into the centre of Whitby walking. The outlook from the lounge and one of the bedrooms was fantastic. The beds were really comfortable and it was nice to have three bathrooms. We would definitely come back to stay again.

Good location, good house but needs maintenance to sort issues. Positive: Location is great although the road is busy and noisy. House is modern. Negative: Standard of cleaning was not great. Property had a number of known maintenance issues that had not been addressed before arrival - broken toilet seat, damage to skirting from leak, loose tiles to bathroom, a note on shower to say not to use it for too long as it floods the bathroom. Hairdryer did not work and we had to purchase one first thing in morning.

Super accommodation Positive: The accommodation was very smart and comfortable. The beds and bedding were of superior quality. Wonderful view. The location is perfect! Negative: Not much at all to dislike. A touch tiring as the accommodation is over 3 floors..but we knew that. A couple of kitchen items missing..sharp knife, wooden spoons, a colander, but hey, we managed..oh, and the large clock on the wall without a battery..if I'd had one I would have changed it. Just needs a little TLC, but all in all, it's a really lovely place to stay..

Fantastic property in a great location within easy reach of everything in Whitby

Positive: The location and view over the marina in Whitby. The large choice of bedrooms. Stylish well-equipped kitchen. Negative: The bathrooms needed a deep clean, showers had blocked drains which smelt and were not clean in the corners. Dirty towels left in bedroom. Clean ones as well though! Not very personal or efficient dealing with a company by phone not the owner when help required or issues needed sorting. Non-refundable damages deposit had to be paid, irrespective of whether the house was left tidy and in good order. The top floor had no blinds or fans and was uncomfortably hot in July sunshine. The windows didn’t open in the house, (no key?)and the upstairs door stuck at one opening only.

It could be an amazing property with just a little TLC Positive: The location of the townhouse is fantastic and a huge bonus to have the open living area onto the balcony with great views of the river. Its in easy reach of the town. Negative: The rooms were smaller than what they appeared to be on the photos and the front bedroom was very hot with only 2 working windows. The noise of the seagulls in the early hours of the morning 4am was quite annoying so ear plugs would be recommended so not to be woken. The overall decor could do with re-doing in places with attention to detail as the photos look superb. We had to hoover on arrival and there was no made bedding for the sofa bed or sheets to use. If you have a car it only accommodates one small car in the garage, not a 7 seater like ours.

Lovely place everything was great until we realised the heating wasn’t working and reading the guest book they knew about it as the previous guests the week before told them. All in all we would return great location and lovely views of the harbour.
