Such a lovely apartment close to both the beach, aswell as all the bars, restaurants and train station. We stayed with our baby and there was plenty of room for a cot in one of the bedrooms. Couldn’t recommend this more.

Great flat, as the previous reviews state, there are a lot of stairs to reach the loft, so bear that in mind when booking. Great location, very close to the beach. We stayed with our 2 young boys and the flat was well equipped with everything we needed. We had a lovey 2 day break.

We’ve stayed through H&S before, the properties are always well kitted out and stylish. Surfers loft was a little unclean when we arrived. Mainly dusty, floors and some surfaces with one light having clean me written in the dust from a previous guest. We also had an issue with the smoke alarm which wasn’t ideal, at first we were told the job wouldn’t be prioritised and we would have to wait to the next day. Although the alarm was going off every 11 mins so after another phone call maintenance was sent out after 5th/6th time it went off. This was 8pm ish so wasn’t ideal with 2 small kids but these things happen. Was also surprised the TV wasn’t a smart TV. Other than that, was happy with our stay.

Just avoid.. host and stay have much better properties Positive: Location Negative: Unclean.. dust in the cupboards and second bedroom Previous guests had not washed plates and cutlery so food was visible. Property was dangerous with no fire extinguishers or fire blankets. Being on the 4th floor with windows that don’t open properly …. This was a MAJOR concern!!! I reported the lack of fire extinguishers during the stay……….. THIS WAS NOT ON THEIR PRIORITY… they’d look into it but didn’t during our stay There was obvious signs there might have been fire extinguishers at the property on each floor. Host and stay have a fire record at the ground floor of the property which does highlight their lack of fire safety.. they acknowledge no fire blankets for example The bath was alarming!! Says free standing with period feature legs! Just moved as you were in it as plastic Extractor fan in bathroom not working .. extractor in kitchen not even connected. All in all it would have been a great stay as location was great but everything and the lack of attention to detail let this stay down My partner and I have stayed in many Host and Stay properties which have always been amazing … but this stay has been sub standard and very disappointing

We had never been to Saltburn and we will definitely be back. There is lots to do and, from the accommodation, we loved that it was all walkable. Yes, there were a lot of steps (59 up to the flat) but it's not called The Loft for nothing so we expected that. Lots of people have commented on the super lights in the flat - we, too, admired them. The flat is, however, up for sale and there are signs of wear and tear, particularly on the blinds and the vinyl surface of the dressing table. Everyone likes their own bed: we found the bed in the room with the dressing table to be sloping on one side; we then found the bed in the other room to be very soft. Hubby has a bad back, so he ended up sleeping on the sofa and I slept on the soft matress. Would we stay again? Though nice, we probably wouldn't stay in The Loft if I'm honest. Would we come back to Saltburn? Definitely.

Surfers loft!! Positive: Spacious bedrooms comfortable, quiet and minimalistic. A great little apartment for a short stay. Ideal for young couples. Easy to get to restaurants, cafes and the beach. Negative: All the stairs to get to it. Other residents must be smokers as their was a strong smell of smoke on the way in and seemed a little scruffy outside the property and certain parts up to it!

The apartment photos do not match the pictures displayed. The communal staircase isnt kept clean, dirty window ledges and staircase. The apartment needs updating, walls and doors all marked, general cleanliness not maintained. Lack of extension lead in kitchen for appliances, so had to unplug when using. WiFi housed on bedroom floor, didn't work for 48 hrs. No Christmas cheer, found tree and baubles in store cupboard, put it up ourselves. Kitchen crockery and glasses not adequate, plus weren't clean!! Boiler in store room noisy, carbon monoxide alarm provided, but housed in cupboard with boiler, didn't feel comfortable!!!\nPlus points apartment warm. Great location to beach and town.

What a wicked flat. 2 spacious bedrooms on a quiet street with a lovely local pub almost opposite. Being on the top floor you hardly notice any noise from the pub and it was a real treat to be able to just pop over and have a drink/food over the festive season. The flat has obviously been well planned and designed to suit the needs of AirBNB. It’s well equipped, warm and a good location. Almost an equidistant walk from shops to beach. Everything is an easy walk.

It’s a good price. Rough area but it’s got free parking and is cheap.

We had a lovely time here, the dogs was settled and happy. My male dog loved looking out the window. Well worth the cost to stay. Would stay again. If any issues they were there on the other side ready to help.

We had a great stay! The apartment was all we needed for our short break. We loved playing the card game in the evening after a day of exploring, was a great touch. The shower was lovely and powerful and a fully equipped kitchen with washing machine ment we were prepared for all scenarios. We took a bus to Whitby easily, but actually preferred Saltburn. Parking is easy on the street or frontvlooking out at sea (all free). The local pub at the end of the street was welcoming but not too noisy at night.

If you have disabilities there are 8 flights to loft and there’s also a lot of stairs to get down to beach if the cliff lift is closed. Beautiful place well looked after loft. Clean. It was very hot when we went and a fan or 2 would have been amazing. Saltburn by the sea is a good looking place. Steakhouse is amazing and great food also down on the beach.

Dales place was absolutely perfect for our work stay , clean throughout and had great kitchen facilities . Communication with host was excellent and will definitely book again when in area .

A good stay,we enjoyed it. Positive: Liked the location and the apartment,was a lot of stairs for us and a 4 year old to climb. Negative: Would be happier with a fire escape,as we were on top floor.

Big hopes, unfortunate stay Positive: Close to the beach. Negative: Communication, poor entres to the facilities ,no promised free Internet connection (router was amber flashing) what was promised (could not work because of that), interior need to update/maintaining. Bedding being used before (duvet cover was clean), toilet sink tabs, free toiletries was 1 roll of toilet paper,small peace of soap,. No basic shower gel. Went to shop to get extras. Clutery are not clean. Boor communication with host. Sending messages every hour, only automated AI answers. Asked compensation, ignored by host.

Overall, I found our stay in the apartment loft a bit disappointing. Positive: The property was in a good location, it was bright and the beds were comfortable. Negative: The property was not cleaned to a high standard. The property looked very tired and grubby in some places. It was on the 7th floor and the windows couldn’t open. WiFi was not working during our stay and spent the first 40 mins of our stay hoovering and scrapping congealed curry sauce off the kitchen floor. The level of dust under the beds and sofa was unacceptable. The lack of fire extinguishers in the block was very concerning too. I spent a lot of my time messaging my findings.

Lovely place to stay in Saltburn. Location was perfect and flat was lovely! It was as described, it is up 4 flights of stairs but this is clear in the description. Is a busy location but noise isn’t a trouble in the flat. The WiFi was very poor - really intermittent and basically had to restart every time you wanted to use it and sometimes wouldn’t work at all. In fairness, we didn’t contact the host about this, so may have been a way to fix. The only other thing to call out is the lock box, which was really tricky to open, we only opened by chance when we picked up the keys and put them back - so word of warning! But otherwise lovely place to stay!!

Great place for a stay at the seaside, has everything you need. Slight drawbacks are it is the top floor so be prepared for 4 flights stairs, parking can be tricky. But great place would stay again

Nice location but wouldn’t book again due to cleanliness Positive: Location is great, straight across from the beach and able to find parking straight outside. Lock key easy to navigate. Apartment is well equipped with modern kitchen, fridge etc. Negative: It was dirty! I asked if we could check in a little earlier and they said no because of cleaning but I really think it hadn’t been cleaned. The bed sheets were crumpled as if someone has been sat on it (or even worse - he’d they not been changed from the previous guest?) and there were used false eye lashes stuck to the bedside table! Bathroom wasn’t clean - ventilation was poor so there was mould on the walls. It was very hot and the Velux windows were all closed - surely you’d have left them open to get some fresh air in if you’d cleaned it?

Great place - would stay again. Comfy beds and right by the sea.

We stayed just one night in Saltburn and this apartment was the perfect location. The beach is right on your door step and the town square on the other side of the road we would find it hard to find fault! The bedroom window not opening is not a problem as seen in other reviews as the apartment is top floor and has a big vellux window that lets plenty of air in! The apartment was so clean and super comfy beds. We will 100% be staying again! Thank you!

Not impressed Positive: Alexa Negative: No iron, chairs were all broken, blinds were broken, the shower went all over the floor, the floor felt unstable and creaked. The bed in the back bedroom moved when anyone walked by the bathroom. The window in the front bedroom is unable to open. The instructions to get in the apartment were poor.

lovely apartment, needed help to get in the door as we couldn't work out the key pad, you need to put your hand on it. Could do with black out curtains in the bedrooms it's very bright.

Wonderful place to stay, close to the beach and beautiful old tram

This place grew on us over the weekend. Great location and security was very tight. Hard to get into at first but once cracked, it was easy. This was reassuring as it made us feel safe. Somebody had been smoking in the communal area, which was unpleasant, but once in the flat, it was like a little haven. Lots of room and airy. Maybe could have done with a mop around but apart from that, good. The flat had everything you needed but felt it needed a morning’s work to put a few things right, e.g. broken chair which was easily repairable. The main bedroom window was sealed shut, with sealant, so couldn’t open but let a draft and noise in at night. Apart from these little bits, everything else was great. The bath and shower were both to die for and the toiletries were a nice touch. Outside of the apartment, the village centre was amazing with lots of independent shops, cafes & galleries. High recommend. And finally the beach…what’s not to like!

Good location for both beach and shops. Smack opposite the apartment is a pub which on the Friday night had live entertainment which you could hear quite loud and clear. Noise carried on until midnight both Friday and Saturday with people leaving the venue, contrary to previous reviews the noise amplified with being higher up. When first arriving there was a sewer smell in the front bedroom, left it till Saturday morning to see if it cleared. Still there so I contacted Dale to raise the issue. Quickly responded and I was asked to check the drains, which I did on my return from the beach. They were ok and the smell was isolated to the bedroom so reported back. Response was to use an air freshener...sprayed it with deodorant as I didn't have an air freshener but the smell kept coming back. Hopefully the issue is resolved for the next guests or an air freshener provided.

The Surf s Loft is perfectly placed to access the beach and the town. The apartment is comfortable, and modern, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider it again in the future.

Positive: The apartment was fine, lots of nice little touches like coffee pods for a machine, washing up liquid and bathroom products. Wifi and TV worked. Negative: The beds really let down the experience. One has a foam mattress long past its prime, and the other is two single spring mattresses shoved together, old and lumpy with a hard ridge in the middle. I didn't read the reviews before visiting but reading them now I note that someone also complained about a lumpy mattress 6-months ago and I guess they still haven't replaced it.

Great apartment with excellent location and enough stairs to burn some calories after fish and chips and ice creams. Positive: It was close to the sea and all the attractions. It was beautiful and comfy. Negative: Getting to the property wasn’t clear enough. I didn’t read the whole instructions as though it can’t be too difficult but I was wrong. Would help if the code to first locker was first in a message, also clear short instructions rather than an essay how to get into the lockers.

Great place to stay. Quiet and close to the sea, pubs, shops and restaurants. Will be staying there again.

We noticed some wear and tear on the property and reported it to the host. They responded immediately to send someone to resolve it.

Spacious accommodation however more suited for youngsters who can go up eight flights of stairs easily! Nice location a Positive: The facilities available even a first aid box. The bedroom space and living room space. Nicely spacious in general. Within walking distance to the beach. Negative: That there was no lift. And a lot of stairs. Shower was basic. One of the double beds was too low and lumpy. Sofa was low and uncomfortable The stairs going up were unclean.

The apartment is easily big enough for 4 people, all the amenities needed and it is located in the perfect spot. Would recommend going to saltburn if anyone wants a break away from home

This flat was ideal for us -- very close to the beach in the lovely town of Saltburn. Everything was spotlessly clean and the hosts were very responsive. Because the flat is on the 4th floor, it was quite warm and there was a sign telling us not to open the bedroom window, so it was stuffy. As mentioned by an earlier review, the matress was also uncomfortable in that room -- it tilted me towards the floor. These would be easy things to fix and then the flat would be 5 stars for me.

I have got to say a few pointers 1) the floor of the apartment was very dirty and felt gritty 2) your keypad is very testing in trying to get in 3) the table chairs the bolts that hold the seats in place missing 1 bolt from each chair brackets hanging down 4) the silver light shades and the shower head thick with dust name wrote in the shade 5) crumbs above extra fan inside the cupboard 6) the sink and draining board cleaners must forgot to clean 7) cobwebs in every room and 1 small 🕷 to worry about didn't tell the girls 8) you really need to restore/replace the settee as it has been reported to you in the past Hopefully you will see this as constructive criticism and you can sort the problems out..

Really lovely place and very conveniently located. The hosts talked to us promptly when we had questions. There weren't any cooking supplies as advertised on the listing (oil etc.) and some other essentials, which although they are not mentioned on the listing, would be really useful and convenient to have rather than buying your own for only a few days' stay (kitchen roll, washing up liquid etc.) so I would just recommend stocking up. Overall recommend the place!

Negative: No curtains so the rooms were very light early in the morning. The window in the bedroom didn't open and so the room was very stuffy at night. There was no pole to open the velux windows.

The location was good and right by the beach. There were also some handy guides provided by the host company. Unfortunately storm Babet caused some leaking through the ceiling and the windows didn't shut properly, so it was very windy/chilly/loud. As previous reviews said, a lot of maintenence is needed on this property. It also wasn't very clean (used towel on back of the door and needed a good hoover/dust). This was all communicated with the host and hopefully sorted for the next guests.

Saltburn is a beautiful place to stay and this apartment is two minutes (if that) from the beach. The apartment has been finished beautifully but needs a little upkeep (mattress in one room has a lean on it), sofa broken in the middle (bit still able to sit on) and floors a little dusty (hard due to the sand being brought in I am sure). We'd consider staying again depending on other properties available (we left it too late for Saltburn should have booked a year in advance). A place with potential but not quite living up to that potential (yet!).

Really only used the apartment for sleeping there at night as we were out early and back late so didn’t really use everything, apart from having a bath which was wonderful. But the place was as we hoped, all of Saltburn amenities right on your doorstep, apartment seemed to be well equipped, it was clean and tidy and quiet at night. The beds were comfortable, so all in all, very pleased and would be happy to stay there again. The 4 flights of stairs up to the apartment have been mentioned several times by others, it wasn’t a problem for us, but it is something to bare in mind if you have any mobility issues.

Great 2 bedroom flat in the heart of Saltburn, close to the beach, train station, food shopping and a good number of bars and restaurants. A few stairs to navigate but good exercise!

Saltburn is a lovely town and would visit again Positive: Great location. Had everything we needed.

A really nice little bolthole to explore Saltburn from; it was very clean and pleasant, and had all the amenities we needed. Plus, 30 seconds' walk from the beach! The only downside is the amount of stairs you have to climb to access the flat, but we were warned about that so it wasn't a shock. I'd definitely stay again.

Modern property in good proximity to the beach. Positive: Modern decor. Bright. Good facilities. Staff very responsive to issues. Good location. Negative: There were issues with the cleanliness of the apartment on arrival but we were compensated by the management who were very responsive. Also the skylight blinds are hard to close so very bright early morning.
