Lovely stay at The Snug, Hunmanby. Ideal property for up to 4 people with everything & more you could need in a property for a 4-day air B N B stay.
Gated parking great. Kids appreciated games, fans for the bedroom, location close to loads of lovely beaches.
highly recommended.

Really enjoyed our stay with 6 years old granddaughter who loved her bedroom and all extra touches. Nespresso machine a bonus. Property and outside area very clean and appreciated secure area to leave our car. Wouldn't hesitate recommending to friends and family. Very likely we will return.

Beautiful property, very clean, cute and quirky!!
Positive: Our 2nd time staying at the snug, it’s such a cute quirky property, and very clean.
Very comfortable beds and lovely little touches like few toiletries, etc.
We will most definitely returning in the future.
Negative: The walk to the car park area could do with some more lighting/ to be a bit brighter as when it was dark my son walked into the flower beds and injured his legs (on first visit). But was aware of this on our last stay.

Cute and cozy getaway
Positive: We had the most gorgeous time at The Snug for a long weekend break. It is beautifully decorated, with a full and well kitted out kitchen, ample living area, picturesque terrace and comfy bedrooms. The cottage is airy and light, thanks to the skylights upstairs and bay window in the dining space. The added bonus of good shower downstairs was welcome too. A Nespresso coffee machine was such a treat. There are so many personal touches throughout the house which makes it really special.
We were blessed with lovely weather, so ate breakfast on the terrace and enjoyed the sunshine. The local beach was fun for a picnic - there were lots of families and dogwalkers which entertained our toddler. We also had the best fish and chips I've ever tasted at the local chippy (Inghams fish restaurant) - definitely worth it if you love a light, crispy batter! Upon our way home, we stopped at Sewerby Hall and Gardens, which was wonderful. A mere 20 minutes drive away. We recommend the land train from there to Bridlington for a fun beach and promenade outing!
Thank you so much. It was a beautiful break for a little family.

A gem of a property. I hope I get the chance to return to.
Positive: Clean, comfortable and relaxing property with luxury finishes where they count.

Relaxing, convenient, spotless and a real treat.
Positive: The Snug is a real gem. It’s unique in its style-luxurious, clean and has beautiful art work scattered around. There was real attention to detail. The sofas were super comfortable and the bed allowed us a brilliant nights sleep. The kitchen has everything you need and more. It’s in a fabulous location and we will definitely be back. It’s the sort of place that you exhale as you enter. We’d highly recommend.

Beautiful cottage on the North Yorkshire coast
Positive: We had such a wonderful stay at The Sung it’s hard to know where to start - this is not your average holiday home, easily the best holiday rental we have been to.
As soon as you enter you get a real sense of cosy luxury. It’s obvious the owners have poured lots of love into the place as it’s filled with stunning pieces of furniture, art work and even some of the owners own pottery pieces. The whole house is beautifully decorated.
We didn’t have great weather but the house has everything you could need and we enjoyed a cosy evening in with the electric log burner, bottle of wine and a film.
We visited The Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery which has a wonderful cafe serving lunch and afternoon tea (although you must book for this) and The Piebald Inn which serves over 50 pies! The two we chose were both delicious! Both were a short walk from The Snug. From Hunmanby Gap you can walk in both directions along the beach with miles of amazing views.
If you’re looking for a stay which feels a bit special, this is the place you need to book. We will definitely be booking again.
Thank you to the owners for a wonderfully relaxing stay.

Loved staying at The Snug- what a beautiful cottage with a nautical theme. Such great taste in decor; light, airy and extremely clean. Every attention to detail to create a home- from- home feel. Lovely, artistic cottage in a gated community in centre of Hunmanby. Beautifully decorated throughout and lots of interesting artwork. Comfortable, well stocked with kitchen essentials. Easy reach of coastal areas by car or bus which runs through the village. Several village pubs, coop around the corner and other shops. The Piebald Inn was a short walk away, 52 varieties of pie. Lovely, quiet and comfortable stay. Would stay again and recommend.

A Delightful Snug Hideaway
Positive: The Snug was beautifully presented and immaculately clean. There were lots of individual touches to the decor. The location was perfect for us. We would definitely like to return in the future.
Just a few comments/suggestions:
The pillows looked amazing, but were so thick and solid it was difficult to get comfortable!
It would have been good to have had kitchen towels provided.
Health & Safety:
As an older person recovering from a fall, it would have been helpful to have had a bannister of some sort?
The floor of the shower was very slippery - but we bought and left a non-slip mat.
None of these is a criticism! We loved the cottage and had a great stay! Thank you.
Negative: Nothing.

A perfect home from home on the east coast.
The property has been lovingly and thoughtfully decorated and equipped with everything you might need for your stay.
The aptly named Snug feels cosy and the perfect place to settle down after a day out adventuring.
We were struck by the central location within the village of Hunmanby, making all amenities less than a 5 minute walk away. Added to all the east coast destinations within driving distance, it really is the perfect location.
The gated car park instantly makes you feel safe and secure upon arrival and the small development of houses are well maintained with flower beds leading up to the property.
The house itself is warm & cosy, decorated with tastefully and thoughtfully. A real ‘home from home’. We particularly love the outdoor area which has been planted with a nautical theme and the Juliette balcony in the twin room framed by the most fabulous curtains!
10/10, would definitely recommend!

Positive: Lovely little place to stay. Close to train station in Hunmanby which can get you up and down the coastline service.
Safe parking within small gated estate is a plus point.

Great accommodation in a lovely spot idea for getting out and about exploring.
Positive: Spacious, well equipped and had everything you needed.
Negative: The only thing was the double bed it was far too soft for us, which we know is a personal preference.

Lovely cottage in a peaceful location, close to nearby towns with plenty to do. Check in was made really easy by the hosts who sent very detailed messages about how to get into the property.
The cottage was really pretty with lots of decorative touches and was very cosy.
Would 100% recommend :)

We have just returned from a lovely stay at the Snug. Spotless clean home with everything you need. Beds were comfy and the owners have made good use of the space inside the property.
We took our two teenage grandsons and there was plenty of space for us all, although the dining table is very small, but adequate if you decide to eat in some nights. The swan pub served good food which is an easy few mins walk away.
The Snug is centrally placed so it’s good for getting out and about visiting places like Filey, Scarborough and Whitby.
We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend.
Great communication with Host & Stay

We had a great stay. The cottage is finished to a really high standard throughout and had everything we needed. The location is great with various shops and takeaways just a couple of minutes walk away. This was a great base for exploring the area and is just a short drive from Filey, Bridlington and lots of other lovely coastal areas

The Snug
Positive: Very home from home lovely and clean
Negative: Well we found the TV not good it was all Sky channels and with us been in are late years couldn't seem to get are normal channels ITV and B B C
GuestAirbnbMay 2026
First time using Host & Stay and very impressed with the communication and the app for the property was great.
Pros: We found 'The Snug' was a convenient location to see the Puffins at
RSPB Bempton Cliffs.
The property has a very arty vibe, with some very nice pieces of artwork.
The kitchen is very well equipped, the best I've seen in a holiday rental.
Heating very easy to use. A comfortable stay.
Cons: I found it was difficult to turn the thermostatic control on the shower bar and maintain a constant heat of the water.
I liked the art but for me there was too much extra clutter in the way of
knick-knacks everywhere
GuestAirbnbMay 2026
Beautiful property with everything you could want during your stay.
However check in wasn't a good experience. The gate code given was incorrect so the early check in charge I had paid was a waste of money. The host was very slow to respond with the correct code.

Fabulous
Positive: The Snug is a fabulous quirky accommodation. Lovely and clean and everything there you needed. Great to have secure parking space too. Walking distance to 4 local pubs serving food.
Negative: We had trouble getting in. The wrong entry number was given to us to get into the gate. Then we had problems with the keypad to get into the property.
GuestAirbnbDec 2025
Centrally located with a variety of amenities with nice beaches nearby.
Secure off-road parking was essential in this busy village although, the snug is the furthest property away from the allocated bay. So expect a walk with your luggage.
Once inside the property was well equipped (almost too much for its size) which made it feel cluttered in some areas. Nicely decorated throughout with a comfy bed and a quirky nautical theme.
The fire is not real but electric.
Earlier check in is available at an extra cost. Access to the property is via an electronic door handle not a lock box & key. If you are arriving in the dark you may require a torch to see the numbers as the keypad is quite faint.
If you don’t like the smell then the chain smoking neighbour may spoil your stay.
Overall we had a relaxing stay visiting family nearby.

Fab clean comfortable place, in a great location as a base for exploring the area.
Positive: Character cottage which was comfortable and clean. Added extras like soap were a nice touch.
Negative: The shower was a bit cramped. However, everything was very clean.
Door keypad didn’t work properly.

It was a lovely, homely and comfortable stay.
Positive: I liked the security of a gated car parking area and access to the property.
Negative: Everything needed for a comfortable stay was provided.

The Snug was exactly as described … immaculately clean, kitchen well equipped, beautiful linen and towels. Excellent communication from the outset from the host. Fantastic location with gated secure parking. The Snug was cosy , warm with quality furniture and equipment. Easy to get to Filey, Scarborough and the village of Humanby itself has so much to offer with pubs, a CoOP in close walking distance. Definitely worth a visit and will look to visit again.

The Snug is a pretty little property, in a gated courtyard. The property is modern and very well equipped, well decorated and cosy. The location is ideal for visits to Bridlington and Scarborough while only walking distance to the centre of Filey. We enjoyed the privacy of the walled garden which was a little suntrap. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay
GuestAirbnbJul 2025
we had a great stay at the Snug. the cottage was very clean, well equipped and in a lovely quiet private close. the instructions to access the cottage were very clear and also there were lots of local recommendations. We enjoyed having a few places for food and walks in hunmanby, as well as being a short drive away from most places.

Too many middle man managing this property
Positive: The place is very nice, wonderfully presented.
Negative: Too many middle men managing this property!. My full payment was taken at the moment of booking, 19 days before stay, yet up to two days before my stay I was bothered by Host&Stay regarding payment. I got altogether 20 emails saying my card wasn't valid. Yet in the meantime the same card was used for another reservation via Booking.com (on 13 July). H&Stay insisted on updating my card on their web, which I didn't like. I checked my bank and proved to H& Stay that Skelton GBR took full payment on their behalf at the moment of booking.
It ruined many days of my holiday. I didn't get even one word of apology.

Comfortable and we'll equipped house in quiet location.
Positive: Very good location in a quiet courtyard with separate parking for the house. Peaceful patio garden despite being in the centre of town.
Negative: The key code for the house was only sent 6 hours before arrival when we were already travelling. It woulf be better sent 24 hours before arrival in case of mobile phone issues.

Comfortable stay in lovely house near to Flamborough Head and RSPB Bempton
Positive: Very clean house with quirky decor which is tucked away in a small gated development in the centre of Hunmanby.
The kitchen was spacious and well equipped. Two toilets( on each floor) and a bath as well as a shower.
Pleasant private patio for sitting outside.
Well situated for exploring East Yorkshire coast
Negative: The digital entrance to the property was 9 characters long and involved checking phone every time that we had correct code. I think this would be difficult at night.
GuestAirbnbMay 2025
The cottage was clean, comfortable, peaceful and well equipped. All the equipment worked well and the quality of the fittings and personal touches were great. The allocated parking was a big plus. We would happily stay again.
GuestAirbnbApr 2025
The accommodation was excellent in every way. Unfortunately the gate code issued to us to access the property was incorrect. If it wasn’t for a good natured neighbour who kindly gave us the correct code we couldn’t have got in because the host & stay team, who finally responded to a number of calls from me, were frankly no use ( even emailing me the same incorrect code) a day later.
I Would definitely recommend the property however the access problem needs to be sorted out

A wonderfully warm welcome on an otherwise wet, foggy & grey weekend
Positive: It was a beautifully presented, homely cottage full of personality & individual touches that you don’t often see in a holiday home.
We felt instantly welcomed & comfortable as soon as we walked through the door
Negative: It’s a little way from the parking space to the cottage to unload/load the car

Negative: Having to pay for damage insurance and constantly being reminded of any damages during stay. I feel that this should be automatically included and you should be made aware when doing initial booking.
