A lovely family get away Positive: Lovely location Negative: Everything needed in one place

Enjoyed are stay in Saltburn. Visited many times but accommodation fell short. Positive: Central for attractions/eateries in Saltburn Negative: Pan with burnt on food left in a dirty oven. Contacted H & S but no one came to clean. Freezer compartment full of out of date foods so couldn’t use it. Fridge door had no door shelf for bottles. Dirt in cupboard. Bathroom hand basin not fit for purpose. Too small and couldn’t use without wetting the floor through or banging your head on shelf above it. Bathroom poorly finished. 2 single beds were best suited to children’s use. Not the standard we expect from Host & Stay.

We had a great stay in Saltburn- a family reunion. The apartment was perfect- walking distance to great cafes and bars. As well as the supermarket and train station. No issues finding a place to park- even on the busy summer weekends. We would stay here again and thoroughly recommend it as a home base on the gorgeous Yorkshire coast.

Positive: The location and was comfy Negative: It was very dirty oven and oven trays where thick of grease had to take them out of room they smelt awful, coffee stains on floor and lots n lots of dog hairs and beads on floor , did leave message for owner no reply

Fabulous dog friendly apartment in a very Central location. Positive: Fantastic location very central, beautiful apartment clean warm, and dog friendly. It had everything you need apart from a bottle opener. Negative: N/A

Perfect Positive: We booked both apartments for a group of 7 - worked so well Negative: Nothing

£60 cleaning fee bad enough but a £250 ‘security deposit’ refunded with a £10 “admin fee” taken out - and wouldn’t give entry details into paid - meant it felt like a car hire - had to check for damages - a broken toilet roll holder - and inform them unless charged - flat was basic tbh - on main street and could be noisy - no personal touches - nothing eg like a bottle water - this is a big letting company and they treat you as such - then to cap it all hot water went off - phoned and was advised to ‘run water for 15mins’ - someone did fix it (about 8pm) but went off again next morning - wife had to use kettle/washing up bowl - had been on walk in rain and out for a lovely meal - ok these things happen but no acknowledgment of this or offer to refund - had to chase them etc - and finally not one but 5 messages to leave by 10am! All in all I wouldn’t book again - be aware of all this if you do - it’s a pity Airbnb is turning into an impersonal app that treats you like an algorithm.

Beautiful apartment in a superb location . Comfy, warm, everything you could need was to hand. Lovely touch of decorating for Christmas. Utterly divine. In easy walking distance of the beach and surrounded by gorgeous cafes, restaurants and shops. Would return in an instant. Great communication from the hosts throughout.

An exceptional apartment, in a great location. The apartment was kitted out with everything you need; the owner was so friendly, and the apartment is upstairs from a fabulous Deli and Bar/Pizza restaurant... We have already decided to book again next year, when the food festival is on....

Nice stay, could have been even better with a little tlc Positive: Location, beds showers and towels all good. Clean and spacious. Negative: Entrance Hallway was dingy and smelly. Existing damage to walls and carpet made me nervous. Not all lights worked. No handrails in the baths. Coffee machine had no pods. One set of keys was missing!

Great location and lots of space but needs some TLC. Positive: Great location. Lots of living space. Comfy beds Fabulous town. Really enjoyed our visit. Negative: Need some TLC. Feels like bare minimum being done in terms of cleaning and keeping apartments well stocked and in working order. Can see that issues we had had already been flagged by previous guests and nothing had been done - including issues with WiFi info shared, chipped plates, issue with drain in bath. Shame as could be an amazing place to stay with just a little more effort.

Good location and nicely decorated accommodation. Positive: Location was great and the apartment itself light and spacious. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable lounge. Helpful friendly manager in cafe below when needed. Negative: It's above a deli/cafe and the entrance/hallway/ landings often contained 'storage' items. Bit messy and smelt of the cafe. Wifi was very problematic, One room had small single beds which I'd not appreciated when booking and bed too small for my hubby.... as was bathroom wash basin for us all (teeny).

It was a great stay located a walk away from shops, the beach and lots of places to dine. It was clean and comfortable. The TV was great with access to many apps and channels as well. Checking in was good, with easy communication to the host.

We were so looking forward to staying here for a family weddingUnfortunately this was a very upsetting experience from the minute we stepped into the propertyOnce inside the hall we were met with an extremely unpleasant smell coming from a laundry bag on the floor and hall was partially blocked by a trolley Once inside the flat we were happy with the size but as we looked around we noticed just how dirty it was in each roomEvery room was very dusty to the point where previous guests had left their name in the dust on the lamps, windowsills had dead bugs or debris on them including next to where sleeping and bed heads dusty, daughter has asthma and dust was a risk The walls in the lounge / kitchen had large drip marks all over and dirty door framesBathroom had extractor fan full of dust and a broken hinge on the toilet seat and a bathroom door that wouldn’t close fully In the kitchen dirty glasses, pans We contacted host and stay immediately who informed me they could not send anyone to clean itWe had no choice but to find alternate accommodation further away and rely on extra costs for taxisI am still awaiting a full refund nearly a month later and do not feel supported by either Vrbo or host and stayI can see other guests mentioned the dirt in reviews now I look and don’t understand why they aren’t doing something about this, they have not acknowledged the extreme stress and upset this caused Saltburn is a lovely place and this flat is in a good location

Disappointing! Positive: The location is handy close to all amenities. The living room was bright and airy The main bedroom was bright and the adults that slept in that bed said it was quite comfy Negative: The entrance is very dark and smells horrible. The smell is so strong and unpleasant. I appreciate it’s a shared hallway and it’s not the hallway you’re staying in ( we have stayed in many places with shared hallways often needing tlc ) but the smell was awful ! Although it is easy to park and close to amenities it’s very noisy even late into the night. The single beds are extremely small for adults another double in that room would have been preferable. The sink in the bathroom is very very small it’s difficult to wash without getting water everywhere or banging your head on shelf above. The bath is very high sided and the shower screen doesn’t move backwards and forwards very far so it makes it difficult to get in and out easily or safely. The kitchen isn’t well equipped, very poor . No oven gloves, no handle for grill pan , no baking trays . ….. The pans were dirty in the drawer and smelled of fried and there were burnt bits stuck to them . Underneath the sink there were two dirty dish cloths that smelled horrible. It had to put things through the dishwater before we used them to clean them. Crockery was chipped. The fridge is very small and broken parts . There was a huge pile of dirty towels in hallway outside our door when we arrived as well as empty tin cans on a shelve that looked unsightly. They were still there until we left. There were only 3 towels for 4 adults . However the day before we left to go home our daughter and husband returned to drop something off at the flat and there was a lady there so she asked her about an extra towel she gave her another and apologised about the towels outside that door . The seating arrangements in living space could be better as there is a chair but the sofa can only seat 2 as threre is a large gap in between the two sections with it being a recliner. There are seat stools around breakfast bar and although comfortable enough when you’re eating. Not really what you want to sit in to relax.

Beautiful just needs a few changes Positive: Beautiful apartment, great location, easy check in.staff available good. Saltburn is so amazingly good. Negative: The smell of curry in both nights when you came in, we thought we were above a curry house but we are above an amazing cafe with good food. Fridge had not been cleaned and marks on the wall. We had paid extra insurance , we thought with there policy over damage things would be fixed to make it nice for the next customer. Fridge was dirty it had not been cleaned No where to keep luggage if yo came in public transport. No ability for delayed check out 10 am is to early , apparently for cleaning , did not clean fridge to e last time do check vl ani g company . We would like compensation for smell and food and crumbs in fridge. Review check out time luggage storage as 10 am yearly . Bathroom needs a rethink. Sink to small could not move sheet screen very much.

Lovely and enjoyable 2 night stay in a great modern apartment. Positive: Lovely stylish, modern and spacious apartment. Bright and airy with superb heating, if needed. Central location, beds super comfortable, night light plugs great feature, lovely smelling diffusers around the apartment. Everything you could ask for a comfortable home from home stay, would definitely stay here again. Negative: Main entrance from street smelled like a wet dog smell. Main hallway/steps from street the sensor lights not very effective at lighting the stairs. Not holding these against the host as probably out of their control as a shared entrance.

Enjoyed our stay in saltburn Positive: Central for all. Negative: Disliked the fact we had to wash some utensils before they could be used. Crumbs on work surfaces.

Enjoyed Saltburn and surrounding area. Positive: The location of flat very good. Negative: Flat was a bit tatty and not very clean dropped something on the floor moved sofa and found lots of rubbish and dust.

An honest review. Loved the look of this apartment and it's location. There was a stale smell as you enter the first door down stairs. The apartment itself was a good size and looked good on first glance. Negatives, it was clear that this did need a freshen up with painting and definitely needed a good clean.The bathroom had mould all around the bath and taps (mould remover would sort in 5 minutes) floor around the toilet, dirty. Stains in the toilet and impractical bath and sink. If your under 5"4 you'll need a step to have a shower. Sink you can just about wash your hands in and mind your head when brushing your teeth. Wall's around the apartment needed cleaning and a paint. After all that, would i stay again yes. But i hope they take this constructive criticism and act on it.Great location and size.

Relaxing getaway Positive: Every thing we needed just 600 yards down to the beach, and great pubs , restaurants and takeaways. ( fantastic). Negative: Steps up to the apartment but still not too bad.

Well located, spacious 2 bed apartment near to sea front & lively restaurants Positive: Well located near to sea front & some good restaurants, nice spacious bedrooms, kitchen & living room. Negative: Stairway was a bit musty, bathroom was cramped with small wash basin, bath/shower that could cause problems for less mobile guests & no extractor fan. Only 1 roll of toilet paper provided.

We would not stay here again. Not value for money. Negative: Most certainly not to Host and Stay standards. Light on stairs not very good carpet on stairs not fitted properly Trip hazard. Smell on entering the building and laundry on both floors should not have been there. Apartment very clean and spacious. No instructions for kitchen appliances or heating. no baking trays. No welcome pack. Access for bath and shower very difficult due to height of bath. please could I have some feedback.

Gorgeous apartment amazing stay. Positive: Lovely stay. Great location and really nice apartment. Had everything we needed. Bathroom door just needs a lock and bathroom sink a little small but on the whole very comfortable.

The problem is Host & Stay. Unavoidable mandatory 'security' fee that has to be paid outside of Airbnb... 'for my peace of mind'! Having used airbnb for almost 10 years, I have never come across such an obvious attempt to rip off the guest - it's left a bad taste. The property itself is OK, a soulless property clearly operated for maximum profit for minimum effort and cost. Previous reviews have mentioned maintenance issues that clearly hadn't been resolved, although they didn't bother me. The bar below is a bit noisy in the evenings though. I won't be going anywhere near a Host & Stay property again.

Really nice place, would definitely recommend

We have stayed at this Airbnb 3 times now over about an 18month period and every single the time the toilet roll holder has been loose to the point it’s running joke because we always mention it to the host but clearly maintenance is far from priority! Lovely property but definitely starting to look tired round the edges now, could really do with a good paint and a replacement plug in the bathtub (also has been attached to a piece of string for the last 3 visits) not hard jobs but make a difference.

The accommodation was perfect. The support from Host and Stay wasn’t at the same level. They didn’t respond to challenging questions. They couldn’t even get a corkscrew to the flat and their offices were actually in Saltburn.. a few other issues that the company didn’t resolve whilst we were there. Not what you would expect from an established business, needs to consider aftercare. Saltburn is a fantastic place and I would visit again, whether I would use Host and Stay is still up in the air, a bit like their customer service procedures.

Great spot in Saltburn by the sea! We had a lovely getaway and felt at home in the accommodation! Very clean and easy to check in and out! Will stay with host and stay again!

Fantastic few days away, with lot to do.

While the location is great due to its proximity to good bars and a beautiful long beach, and the beds were very comfy, the property is a bit tired - cracked walls/paintwork in both the entrance hallway and the apartment itself and when we arrived it hadn't been cleaned; it didn't seem as though we were expected guests. There were cleaning products out on our arrival, the door was ajar, and the window cleaner was present. Surfaces and appliances were still dirty from previous use, one guest had a marked/stained towel and the apartment was half-finished being decorated for Christmas. Bathroom products hadn't been fully restocked either. Other than clean the property ourselves, there wasn't much Host & Stay staff could do other than offer a complaints form. They have maintained contact since returning but I'm yet to hear the outcome following my complaint and photos.

Nice place but unfortunately it was a little noisy outside, not sure whether it was the pizza place or the bar but obviously there was music and people out on the pavement. Went into back bedroom to sleep but even in there we heard a humming sound that came on and went off all night long, I assume it was a freezer or something from the kitchen downstairs.

Would have been a 4 star overall if it had not been for the Deposit admin charge. Considering I'm being charged 410 for 3 nights and the 60 for cleaning fee, even though we are expected to tidy up and clean all dishes. The deposit admin fee should be included in the headline charges and not hidden in the main page. Was very uncomfortable with that. To be clear I have no qualms paying a security deposit, but to be charged an admin fee that is written on the page, doesn't sit right with me. Yes some people will say, it's my responsibility to read the listing. But it's my first experience ever being charged an extra fee on Airbnb and also a fee where I've had to pay outside of Airbnb themselves.

We had a lovely 3 nights here. It's a beautiful apartment that's been tastefully decorated and stylishly furnished. As you walk in, you're really hit with how light and airy it is. It was just what we asked for and what was promised based on the description and photos. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment, or stay here again.

Absolute hidden gem! Right in the high street, cafe and shops below. 10s to train station, 2 mins to the beach! Would highly recommend.

a really super find I would definitely want to come back Positive: the decoration and furnishings were excellent, the kitchen was well equipped. it was clean, comfortable and just what I wanted. The lady who met me was unbelievably helpful and kind. Negative: the blinds didn’t block out the street lights and I could only see one key to unlock the windows but I couldn’t get the key out of the one window which opened so couldn’t open more
