Great place, felt right at home. Lovely quiet location, but walkable to the rest of whitby and 5 minutes to the beach. Great size bath bit on the slow side to fill but still fab. Dog friendly too
Lovely flat in a great location. Parking very handy and always able to get a space right outside. Unfortunately the rug was covered in long black pet hair (we did travel with a dog but ours doesn’t shed) which set off both of our allergies. The bed was very hard and not very comfortable.
Lovely apartment to stay in! Positive: The property was exactly as described and was very cosy and welcoming. We were so pleased to see that they’d put a Christmas tree up in the living area as this made it extra special.

Me and my partner had a lovely stay at the Salt Nook, the location was perfect and walkable, and the digital guide provided helped us navigate the town and had some great recommendations. The accommodation was exactly like the pictures, and we felt right at home.

Go to Whitby every year in December and always get apartments. This was by far one of the best if not the best when you factor in value for money. The on street parking was extremely easy with the provided scratch card so we didn’t have to pay. I honestly cannot fault the place. I will definitely be going back next year!
We had a lovely time at the Salt Nook. It’s walking distance to all key attractions. Our only niggle was that there wasn’t any car parking spaces left in the zone so we had to pay for two nights overnight parking. It would’ve been fine but we had a rather heavy travel cot with us so had to walk to and from the car park on check in and check out. Just something to bear in mind if you’re banking on there being a space outside the apartment.

We stayed at the apartment for 7 days . When we arrived at the apartment we found that the lower floor had an unpleasant odour which stayed in the accommodation all week We we’re not sure if it came from the bins at the rear of the property or the shower room in the kitchen . We were supplied one large thin towel each for a 7 day stay which could have been increased . The biggest issue with the area is parking which is a daily challenge The accommodation was clean,tidy and was supplied with tea ,coffee etc The position of the apartment is an excellent Place to visit Whitby

Absolutely fantastic find! Travelling alone I was a little apprehensive but I felt so safe in the apartment; I could live there! The house was lovely presented, spacious and everything I needed. Parking right outside was the added bonus. I will hopefully be back in March next year for a few days. Thank you so much
Perfect position to easily visit all attractions of Whitby. The key was not easy to get out of the keysafe but it was dark and wet when we were trying to get in. It would have been better to have had hand towels in both bathrooms and foot mats for getting out of the shower or bath to avoid slipping on a wet floor.
Lovely break but please ensure parking scratch card is provided Positive: Central, modern, light & airy, well-equipped Negative: You failed to leave the parking scratch card which caused some inconvenience and additional parking costs for the first day & into the second. We had to make a couple of calls to request a replacement & chase. It did take the shine off the break initially.

Cosy & comfortable base to explore Whitby Positive: The property has been tastefully decorated and was comfortable for a couple, spacious but cosy. The lighting throughout was gentle and well appointed. It got a little chilly one evening, but the heating was easy to control. Perfectly placed to enjoy everything whitby has to offer. It was a fabulous bolt hole for us to enjoy the area. Parking was easy enough, but on busier days you may have to hunt for a space, but the parking pass area is huge. Negative: The courtyard to the front had a lot of cigarette butts scattered around, which wasn’t the nicest introduction to the apartment. The back courtyard wasn’t very nice at all, unless you accidentally burn some toast- I wouldn’t go out there.. There was only a single hanger in the property to hang clothes up. Sadly the fire controller didn’t work. A few more basics in the kitchen would be nice, there was a salt and pepper grinder but both were empty for example.

Positive: Had a brilliant stay at the Salt Nook! Cosy and clean, plus decorated beautifully with lots of attention to detail. Perfectly placed for walking into the town… we didn’t use the car for the whole 4 nights we were there! Great communication with Host & Stay when on arrival we found a couple of damaged items. Wouldn’t hesitate to return, or to recommend it to friends and family. Thank you! X Negative: Complimentary shower gel. Fresh milk (not uht). Just very minor points though!!
The Salt Nook makes my trip feel special, I'm grateful for the peace it gives me. Positive: The apartment is perfect for what I need, quiet, calm, peaceful. A place to recharge. Perfect location, 5 min walk to the cliff beach to see the sun rise and set. Negative: I'd love to stay longer but I'd need a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Lovely setup and location. Would benefit from a tidy of courtyard at front door and back. WiFi details need updating. Positive: Location, decor and standard of furnishings and fittings - very comfortable Negative: Outside areas. Greeted by overgrown weeds in front courtyard and chicken bones throughout the stay. Buildup of rubbish sacks outside back door. WiFi code shown in accommodation did not work - discovered router had been changed. Terrestrial tv did not work.
Brilliant location, parking easier than expected although it would be difficult at busier times. However, entrance patio unwelcoming scattered with weeds and animal bones. Wifi details incorrect on guidebook and on signs inside property. Confusing 2 day parking scratch card given for a 4 day stay, had to contact host. Sofa with scatter cushions all but 1 had stains on, wobbly coffee table. Under stairs cupboard left unlocked and full of paint cans and storage boxes, boiler cupboard littered with what looked like lost property from previous customers, including mouldy instruction manuals. Horrific and noticeable smell coming from the very small fridge, so much so the entire downstairs smelt of it. No chance of opening the back door to get rid of smell as was a horrible sight with empty alcohol containers. 2 towels, 2 toilet rolls, 1 coffee pod and 2 dishwasher tablets for a 4 night stay seems tightfisted. Stained bedding. More fool me for not supporting an independent host with pride

Positive: Nice homely touches ,good location and easy to follow instructions to access property Negative: Wasn't clean ,all kitchen crockery needs replacing, oven wasn't clean so didn't use it ,all cookware was rusty wouldn't use it ,bathroom was dirty ,towel radiator was thick of dust so wouldn't put towels on it ! For the price paid cleaners need to do much better !
Lovely stay, good location. Positive: Lovely decor and facilities. Comfortable, clean and quiet. Messaged them with a couple of comments and had a quick and efficient response back. Negative: Thought the early check in option and cost was a bit cheeky and expensive, especially as we were given the option of the property for the previous night so we knew it was empty. Parking was just about ok when we were there but I suspect it could be an issue (street parking). Parking vouchers were good though.

Lovely place, really lovely decoration and had a great feel to it. Excellent amenities. Easy to find and easy to get around Whitby on foot. Unlikely to get a parking space right outside but we always managed to find somewhere within a few minutes walk in the permit zone.

Great find. The Salt Nook is fresh and modern looking. Easy to find and in a perfect location to stroll down into Whitby town centre. Lovely big bed and the bath tub was to die for! Host was very friendly via communication. I'd certainly recommend and would book again.
The Salt Nook is a well appointed apartment in the West Cliff area of Whitby, with the photos giving a true impression. You take steps down from the street to the front door to enter the lounge and kitchen, with the bedroom and bathroom up stairs. The shower is tucked away at the end of the kitchen. Parking permits are provided which cover the surrounding streets, which can get busy. The hosts were very responsive to any queries which is helpful. Would stay again should we be inn Whitby.
The Salt Nook is a great place to stay when exploring Whitby and surrounding areas. The place itself was also very comfortable, and made for an enjoyable stay. We did, however, receive a few messages before our stay trying to upsell, eg additional nights and early check in. Overall, we would recommend it for anyone looking to stay in Whitby.
The Salt Nook was a lovely place to stay in Whitby. It was walkable to the centre of town (around a 10 minute walk) and had lovely views out of the windows. The home itself was lovely with amazing furnishings making you feel just at home. However, if you are stopping here for longer than a 2 day period, I would recommend bringing some spare towels to use as there are only 2 towels provided with no spares found. The home was very lovely and had a great cottage vibe/feeling. Would recommend in the future to anyone wanting a nice weekend in Whitby.
Great place in a great location. Looks just like the photos. Couple of key items missing which were quite key to our stay such as a tea towel and oven gloves. There was also no hand soap in either bathroom? Couple of quite large cobwebs dangling from the bedroom ceiling. Would happily stay again. Good communication from host, easy to find and easy to get in.
Great place to chill in a nice part of Whitby. Positive: Great location & well thought out room layout. Nice & cosy, especially in Feb!! Car parking with permit available in the accommodation, get this on display asap. Negative: Basement apartment. If you don't do steps then it's not for you.

Great central location for a couple of nights in Whitby - only a 5 minute walk from shops / bars. The apartment had a modern interior and well renovated. Easy parking instructions provided. Bedroom had a lovely bay window with views of Whitby Abbey!

There was supposed to be a parking permit in the premises. There was not. We phoned the number provided and spoke to a young lady who advised us to look in the welcome pack. For this property there is no welcome pack. After a long delay I ended the call. Eventually I got a call back advising me to park free of charge a quarter of a mile from the property. I was advised a parking permit would be delivered the following day. Nothing arrived. Host and Stay seemed more concerned about how they could charge me more for early checkin late checkout etc. Never once did their comms acknowledge the problem we had with the parking permit. Also the TV was muted to the point where we could not hear it. I tried to change in Settings but that did not work. Will not be staying in a Host and Stay property again.

The Salt Nook was a fabulous find and a great place to stay in Whitby. The apartment was the perfect size for us and an incredible location from which to explore the town. It’s a five minute walk into the lanes of the West Cliff and only ten to the harbour. It was really clean and comfortable and we felt really at home.

Lovely little nook seven minutes downhill walk into Whitby town. Parking is limited so if you get a space ,try and leave the car there as much as you can. Accomodation was lovely , clean and well set out. In a small property it was nice to have 2 bathrooms, one with bath( upstairs) , and one with shower( downstairs). Lovely little table in the bedroom bay window , to sit and watch world go by. If you want a nice, quiet and cosy place then I would recommend this property. Thank you

A lovely spot in the heart of Whitby close to local shops, restaurants and bars. The property is only a stones throw from the pavilion with great sea views and walks. The apartment is stylish and very cosy! We really enjoyed our stay. I would say to bring your own salt/pepper and oils as there was no oil available and no salt or pepper left - a tiny issue, overall a fab stay.
Exceptional location, lovely place to stay. The outside area (front door) was a bit dirty due to waste which presumably blew in from the surrounding street which isn’t really the hosts fault, but there were a few large cobwebs in the main room too off the main light which was no issue for me but maybe for other people. Other than that, the place and facilities were excellent and I’d definitely stay there again

Positive: It was a beautiful property in a perfect location. You could see the Abbey from the bedroom window at the end of the road. It was close to everything but away from the hustle and bustle. The host was very friendly and communicative. Very easy to park on the street with a resident's parking permit. Ot jad everything we needed, and was decorated beautifully. We loved it and would definitely stay there again! Negative: I can't fault it!

Really well furnished and perfectly located. However downstairs toilet/shower room was not very clean. The living room had a very noticeable strange, damp smell went entering the property or coming down from the bedroom.

FABULOUS, wonderful place to stay. Positive: The owners had clearly taking great time to furnish the apartment with a real attention to detail. Comfortable, spacious and gave a real feeling of calm. Beautiful. Negative: The only little niggle was broken shelves in the fridge which made me jump nearly everytime I opened the fridge they fell out. Maybe some condiments in the kitchen would have been usefull, salt, pepper, to cook with.

The flat was lovely, clean and in a great location, you couldn’t fault that. We would liked to have had basic ingredients such as Salt and Pepper (empty) 1 x dishwasher tablet for a 4 x day stay seemed a bit mean. We have never been anywhere else and that happen. The most annoying issue is not having been refunded the money I had to use for Parking as Permit had not been left for us, a very easy fix, just get one dropped off, I would suggest to the host that maybe a spare is left in a safe place on site for this sort of incident. I was promised a refund, and here we are 10 days later, still no refund, so that is why sadly my review is somewhat mixed. Do not let this out you off though. The place itself is in a great area, and easy to walk on the beach in the evening, it was very relaxing and well decorated. I would stay again despite these niggles as it really was lovely. Normally I wouldn’t some of these things in a review but maybe a few improvements will be made aft

Lovely place , just need a few things to update the property. Positive: The location was great. Negative: I didn’t like the pillows. They were flat and needed replacing. Bed wasn’t comfortable, very lumpy. Also there was a smell coming from the kitchen. I did address this as soon as I arrived . The filter in the extractor fan needs changing . I had to go and get cleaning products to mask the smell. And every cup was chipped. The kettle and toaster need replacing.
Ideal location for Whitby Events Positive: Very nice and clean. A bit cold in the lounge as the fire didn’t work. Negative: Nothing really comes to mind, although the agents weren’t very helpful regarding the parking permits.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Salt Nook. Amazing apartment, clean and very modern. In walking distance of everything you need. The only little downside of the stay was the bed, this was uncomfortable as the mattress was very springy and in need of replacement. Apart from this it was a 10/10 stay! Would highly recommend ☺️

Salt Nook in Whitby is a lovely apartment in a fantastic location—clean, nicely decorated and perfect for exploring the area. We did experience an issue with the heating and hot water not working initially, but this was promptly resolved with an engineer’s visit. However, it did take some time for the apartment to fully warm up, which was noticeable given the cold weather. Despite this minor setback, we had a great stay and would happily return!
