Really lovely loft apartment. Very clean and well presented. Great amenities and really nice bathroom. Comfy bed. Very peaceful and private but only a short walk to the centre of town. Beautiful views out over the town. Just a note for anyone who is mobility impaired, the stairs to the top are tight and steep. But a top property.
Penthouse Review Positive: Location. Apartment layout was good. Negative: Cleanliness needs to be improved. It was cleaned to a level but needed to be more indepth around various parts of the apartment. Stairs were very steep. Not good for people with disability or breathing difficulties. Should perhaps be more details as part of initial overview. Parking was a problem. The area works around a 1 hour permit between 9am and 7pm. There was no previous reference to this, so again an issue when you initially arrive and try to unload at the property. No parking disk or permit we were available to help with this process.
great place to stay, central, modern, great view and big bed. would recommend for a couples weekend away
Came for our anniversary weekend. not tonnes do do in whitby in the off season so we ended up going to a few pubs and just chilling in this beautiful property watching films as we wanted to make the most of it. bed was so comfortable, amazing views from the property. plenty of amenities to use if you wanted to cook etc. key box was a tiny bit stiff but we got a response straight away when we struggled. honestly wish we had another night in the place it was so relaxing.
Such a wonderful penthouse. It is beautiful and the views are amazing. The stay truly made our honeymoon magical.
Good value for money
Acceptable for a cheap two night stay, good central location. Not accessible for anyone that would struggle with stairs. Positive: Nice views, good location and plenty of room for two Negative: Lots of stairs, difficult to find parking nearby, was tidy in apartment but stairway was very dirty and drain issue during our stay meant the apartment was very smelly.
Fabulously outstanding property Positive: The views from the property are outstanding and the property itself is amazing we love love love staying here. If you get the chance to stay in this apartment you will not be disappointed. Great place to stay, with amazing views out over Whitby in 2 directions! Crocodile over the road is definitely worth a visit as well.
Fab location, clean, nicely decorated. Negative: The fact there was no wardrobe or drawers to put our clothes in, only a few hangers on some hooks. We managed for our short stay but this would be no good if we were to have stayed longer. It made the bedroom look untidy as we had to put most of clothes on the chair in the corner.

A great stay in a beautiful penthouse apartment Positive: Beautiful apartment. Well planned and flowed well lots of plugs well situated. Apartment was clean well furnished with spectacular views from the bedroom. Enough appliances provided and was very quiet. Negative: Although it didn’t bother us as we are relatively fit, be aware there is a narrow staircase that goes up four floors to reach the apartment.

What a great location and the views are just spectacular! From the kitchen/living area you can see the lighthouses and St Mary’s Church and the Abbey. From the bedroom window there’s a wonderful view of the town. It’s very centrally located, and easy to walk all over town. There are a lot of stairs, so it may not be an easy climb for folks with mobility issues. But it’s a very nice, clean modern space. The hosts are helpful and informative, and quick to respond. We really enjoyed our time here!
We had an amazing stay. The property has incredible views and is close to everything. We loved our time here and will definitely be recommending to friends and family!

Pros - Location incredible. The views are fantastic. Right in the middle of whitby. Easy enough to just pop back when needing the toliet or to grab some food, incredible. The lay out and the finishing touches in the flat make it feel high quality. The windows are amazing to see out of. The bed is so comfy. Cons- sofa broke first 30 mins we was there and left us only able to relax on the bed or at the dining room chairs. ( This was noted 3 weeks ago and should have been replaced or fixed better. Host and stay have been contacted and are opening up a investigation into a partial refund which I feel is satisfactory considering that you do enjoy relaxing on the sofa after a big day out and not being so made us feel a bit lost) You need to bring items like sponges and extra toliet rolls. One roll is not enough for our stay. All in all was enjoyable. Shame about sofa.
NEVER TO RETURN AGAIN TO ANY HOST AND STAY VENUE. Positive: Views were spectacular, Shower was good. Negative: Cleanliness was disgusting, bed had stains on it, pillows were stained, quilt was stained, settee was broke, toaster fridge was dirty kept on getting emails about payments for damage even if I never did it.
An Excellent Stay. Positive: Cleanliness and Response was amazing. The Host responses Very quickly make you feel relaxed and assured, very helpful. Location was excellent, You can see the Sea. They provided everything you need. Negative: The price is a bit expensive. Washroom is too small. You can't stretch your legs in the Bathtub, It's too small in leghth.
Really good apartment close to loads of things to see and do / if any criticism as it was a lovely apartment it was the little things like no washing up liquid, no kitchen towel, only one toilet roll that let it down a bit. The settee was broken and just needs propping up at the front and the hair dryer was missing which meant we had to go buy one when we could have brought one easily with us - little things but let an otherwise immaculate flat down - we loved the place 😁
Schöne Unterkunft in sehr guter Lage. Tolle Ausflugsmöglichkeiten. Wer bereit ist, seinen Koffer ins Dachgeschoss zu tragen, wird mit einem tollen Panorama belohnt. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.
We stayed at The Penthouse recently and had a wonderful stay! My partner and I thought the views were absolutely stunning from the apartment, and the layout made us feel at home. Very close to the centre of town in Whitby and was easy to go anywhere, and access to the apartment was easy. Will definitely use host & stay again in the future, especially for other locations and choices for holiday. Thank you Host & Stay!
Lovely apartment, right in the mix but also peaceful. Views were lovely, had to walk up about 6 flights of stairs, reason views so good, not suitable if any fitness/mobility issues but great if you want to build up your cardio fitness

The apartment was just as the photos on Airbnb, it was easy to find and had everything we needed. The main thing to know is that the penthouse, as you would imagine is at the top so it's 4 flights up. While this gave us some exercise it may be tough with people with mobility issues or very young children. However it's a really good apartment and close to everything you need.
We had a fantastic stay in Whitby this weekend. The location of this property is perfect! My fiancé and I felt right at home. Charlie was responsive to my questions and we felt the property was rightly described. We’d 100% recommend and are already looking to stay again.

Lovely penthouse apartment in an ideal location to explore Whitby. Spotlessly clean and fully equipped. Great views of the sea and harbour looking over the roof tops. Only down side is that it’s on 4th floor so a lot of stairs to climb.
Second time visiting this lovely property. Definitely will return for a third.

The apartment was lovely, great views and nicely furnished. Our trip unfortunately was spoiled due to the cleanliness of the apartment. On arrival we had noticed the bed had been made but nothing had been cleaned. There was bits still all over the floors tea stains on the sides and spilt fluids on the bedside tables. Also there was two dirty tissues next to the bed with something on them. The cleanliness of this place really let it down as it would have been a great stay otherwise but unfortunately hygiene is a must for me so I will not be returning.

We had an amazing stay in the apartment which was exactly as described and the views were stunning over Whitby. The condition of the apartment was immaculate and we loved staying there. The only issue was finding it at first but the owners were extremely helpful and responsive . We would definitely recommend staying here!

We had a lovely few days in Whitby staying at the penthouse. My partner even proposed to me in the apartment during our visit! 💍 The apartment itself is lovely, very clean, amazing views and everything you need for a holiday home. There are plenty of places to eat and drink a walkable distance away and easy to get in and out of town to explore the moors too!
Overall the apartment was excellent, it matched exactly how H&S said it was. If I was going to be critical, and this is just a general comment and in no way detracted from our stay, the only minus points are…… The stairs (69) could be a major issue for some but didn’t bother us. 😰 No drawers etc for putting clothes away. Just a series of coat hangers in the corridor that weren’t practical for knickers and socks etc 😊

Lovely centrally located apartment. Positive: The apartment is in a perfect location, just 100 metres from the high street. The property is well equipped & to a very good standard. The apartment is open plan throughout, with the kitchen/diner/lounge separated from the bedroom by a short corridor. Please be aware the apartment is on the 4th floor. Negative: We were surprised that there were no cupboards, drawers or wardrobes to hang clothes etc & we were disappointed at not having condiments & only 1 wine glass, it's the little things that make a difference.

Pleasant, but not to the standard I would expect . Positive: Great location, although be aware lots of stairs being a penthouse. Lovely, big open accommodation, with great views, right in the heart of Whitby. Warm and plenty of hot water for our winter visit! Negative: Wasn’t as clean as expected, especially given you pay a surcharge for cleaning! No welcome pack, so come prepared. The furniture was tired and not particularly comfortable.
Spectacular views of Whitby make the stairs worthwhile! Spacious and comfortable apartment was a pleasure to be in. Parking free outside 0900-1900, with 1 hour limit just outside and 3 hour limit 200m up the road
Great place to explore Whitby with rooftop views of the Abbey. Not for the unfit though with 67 steps to climb up to the apartment!
Had a very relaxing and comfortable stay. Positive: The property was clean and had great facilities. The heating worked well to keep the whole apartment warm the whole time we were there. The location was perfect, right in the centre of Whitby so it was easy to walk to everywhere. Negative: Nothing.

Great location right by the station and only a couple of minutes from the main shops and restaurants. Comfy bed, clean, and great views from the bedroom and living area. There are a lot of stairs which we were fine with but good to know before booking. Only a couple of minor things would've been nice like a doormat in the apartment for wet shoes and maybe a divider/curtain to block light from the living area window into the bedroom. Neither were big issues though! Would book again.
Really enjoyed the stay, great guidance from the host and excellent communication. A great place to stay with great facilities, great views of Whitby, and overall good cleanliness. We really rate our stay highly. However, some minor points to improve, just to help the host for future, were shared privately with them.

We had the best time in Whitby. Everything in the property was clean and tidy and exactly as described. We would definitely visit Whitby again and are very likely to secure the same place! PS: The view is so majestic, so massive kudos for the choice of Airbnb location!

We arrived early and the appartment hadn't been cleaned, called the Host and Stay number and Charlene was very helpful and allowed us to leave all our luggage, which was very helpful after four flights of stairs. 😊 Negative: Unfortunately to sofa was broken, so wasn't that comfortable
Eine schöne und moderne Dachgeschosswohnung mit tollem Ausblick und zentraler Lage. Leider sind die Möbel bereits stark abgenutzt und weisen entsprechende Gebrauchsspuren sowie Verschmutzungen auf. Die Oberflächen waren staubig, und es wurde offenbar nach den letzten Gästen nicht gründlich gereinigt, da noch überall Schuhabdrücke zu sehen waren. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist dennoch in Ordnung.

Great place beautiful views all the stairs to the top were a killer though. Having a smart TV in the lounge was fantastic and easy to use lots of amenities a dishwasher full kitchen utensils etc. allowed us to cook a homemade meal during our stay

A very nice place to stay. We had a bit of trouble with the key box but managed it eventually. It was very windy during the second night with a storm coming in which kept us awake. This made us wonder what would happen in the event of a fire as there was no information in the apartment that we could see. However, the apartment was very comfortable with good views of Whitby, and we enjoyed our stay.

A really lovely top floor apartment right in the centre of Whitby with fantastic views over the town and out to the sea. Very comfy bedroom and whole place light and airy. I only felt perhaps missing a few essentials e.g. hand soap. Overall, highly recommended!
Positive: Beautiful property, absolutely stunning views and perfect location. Staff very responsive to messages on booking.com. Will 110% book again! Negative: Was told we would receive a free parking scratch card for parking in W zones and was then told that wasn't an option for that location and that we should use pay and display carparks. We were recommended car parks to use though which was very useful.

Great long weekend . Positive: The property was a great location , very airy & great views of Whitby. Clean & tidy. Negative: A couple of negatives, 1- when I booked the property it said there was disc zone parking , I was informed once we were there that the property no longer included it . A bit disappointing as I had to pay for 3 full days parking ! 2- just lacked storage / drawers for clothing in the bedroom.

Wow! What an absolutely beautiful place to stay. I have stayed in lots of air bnb’s in Whitby and this was 100% the best. The penthouse was incredibly clean and well equipped for our stay. The property is located in an ideal location to allow you to explore the stunning seaside town. The views allowed us to see all the sights of Whitby, including the Piers and The Abby. I would recommend the penthouse to anyone wanting to stay in Whitby for a chilled weekend. Thank you for creating such a lovely place to stay. I hope to return soon.
The appartment was lovely and as described. Was dusty and the windows were very dirty. Not a major issue. It’s a shame the parking isn’t great, would be good to offer a disc so parking could be done outside
Would stay again, but feel the owners/company need to give it some attention to detail. Positive: Fantastic views and location for a local stay to experience Whitby! Super comfy bed and great shower. Negative: Property needs some love in terms of decor, marks and dirt on walls (easily fixable) and cobwebs in corners. Basics like tea and coffee, salty and pepper not provided, and could do with extra towels. Entrance hallway grubby and smelled of smoke due to smokers standing at the bottom which wasn’t a great first impression.

Excellent appartment but access difficult! Positive: Location and views plus ambience of apartment excellent, Negative: Access to property was not great. No clear direction to find Hudsons Yard - name the shops its between. Access to the keybox was frankly a nightmare. Keys not easily visible and despite putting in correct code the box opening mechanism didn't work properly. It took a full 10 minutes to put the keys back on departure. Please make this easier. Also the hallway and stairwell looked very seedy and was not very clean. First impressions count.
Great penthouse flat with an amazing view of Whitby including the Abbey and docks as well as out onto the river. Location is perfect in the centre of Whitby town close to everything. The place has everything you need including a fully equipped kitchen. Plenty of parking nearby and easy to find.
The views were amazing ,but overall wouldn’t return to that apartment Positive: Lovely views ,nice big comfy bed ,good quality fluffy white towels ,kitchen well equipped Negative: Stairs and hall carpets filthy, not good first impression ,one low quality toilet roll ,shower screen was mouldy at the bottom ,tv kept losing signal and sofa bed very uncomfortable ,windows full of bird poo ,kitchen sink tap loose ,the 60 + stairs were challenging
