The old School House is a great location in the heart of the town centre but easy to use as a base to explore further. House is a good layout with a nice external courtyard space, and very comfortable for our family of 4. Would recommend.

Fabulous mini break in Pickering Positive: Lovely property renovated to a high specification. Great snug area off kitchen. Great location within easy walking distance of shops, cafes & restaurants. Negative: Property lovely nothing didn’t like although Daughter was wanted a bath!
Character property in a prime location Positive: Great location, a short walk into town, yet peacefull. Modern facilities in a character building, nice and warm the showers were powerful and beds comfortable. Kitchen well equipped and plenty space for us 4 adults and a dog. We would stay again. Negative: We were lucky with the parking as its not guaranteed to get by the property.
Our stay at The Old Schoolhouse was just fantastic. We were so happy to have the small garden area for our furry kids. The Old Schoolhouse is beautifully furnished and was just what we wanted. It was perfect in all ways.

Easter Break Lovely property in a great location. 3 nights just wasn't long enough.
The Old Schoolhouse was conveniently and well-furnished and with a few changes could be exceptional. Positive: The unit was self-catering (no breakfast offered). Its location was excellent: on a quiet street with adequate on-street parking. It was a short walk through a church yard to the market street with restaurants and shops. The house was comfortable and the kitchen well set-up with everything needed to make meals. We were happy to be allowed to arrive early. This was predicated on the cleaning staff having been able todo their work in advance of arrival. (The house was last vacated on the previous day.). Negative: We were promised the lockbox key code 24 hrs in advance of our arrival. I called several times after that for the code and to learn if we could arrive early with no success. Both the code and the affirmative on arrival time were available at 8:30 when we had to leave at 9 am for the 4-hr drive to Pickering. Our friends arrived ahead of us and could not find the lockbox and went off to lunch. We arrived and similarly could not find the lockbox. I called but the agent's rep was not helpful. She said it was to the right of the front door. It was not. I went to a neighboring B&B and asked the host if he knew about the lockbox. He said his wife thought it might be up a raised (one high step), gravel path adjacent to the house. Indeed it was there hidden from the street on the side of the house. I confirmed with the rep that the lockbox was found, however, getting the key should not have been so difficult. The generalized fire instruction to 'exit by the nearest door' ignored the fact that the door to the patio led to a confined area without an exit. The second bathroom on the first floor was useful as a half-bath but not for showers. There was no curtain or surround so the whole room would be soaked if the shower were used. Instead, we shared the upstairs shower with our friends. That shower should have a floor mat or firm wall grip to avoid slips or falls.

Beautiful property and in a great location to take in the town and restaurants it has to offer along with a short walk to the station to enjoy the steam railway to Whitby. Highly recommend! Would love to visit again

We have been to Pickering many times and would honestly say this is the best accommodation we have stayed in. Excellent in every way. Excellent condition, clean and comfortable, and spacious. Lovely outdoor area. Perfect location, close to everything you need. Can’t fault it at all!

Lovely enclosed garden for sitting out and relaxing. 2 x toilets and shower facilities was also a good plus. Negative: The key box could be better positioned... note to anyone staying here... its on the side of the house, took a bit of detective work to find it!

Positive: Perfect location, lovely and peaceful. The whole house is beautiful and well thought of. A grab rail in the showers would be very useful though and some history about the house and school etc would make very interesting reading.

A two floor, two bedroom house located moments from the center of Pickering town. Although the building itself is an old conversion, the interior and appliances/amenities are all relatively new and in excellent condition. There is a nice private outdoor space in the rear. The management company was extremely proactive and helpful with their communications. Overall a pretty faultless holiday rental experience.

We were happy with the property. Clean, modern and comfortable. Tastefully renovated. Contained all the items and facilities you need and more. The location is great for Pickering being on your doorstep. And it’s also handy for York, nearby Malton and Whitby & coast. We enjoyed our 3-day stay. Have no problem in recommending. Not a complaint as such but rather in the name of managing expectations: probability of getting one of the on street parking spots is low, and next door adjoining to the property is a church hall / community centre. There was drum practice one night and a funeral during one of the days. Feel it’s reasonable to mention it for future guests.
