Good location with shop, park, fish and chip shop, pub and food court in walking distance. The property is beautiful and well furnished. The upstairs bedroom was very warm- it was 29 degrees on arrival and we struggled to get the temperature below 25 degrees. Although it was a warm weekend it was not the hottest. A few words for those travelling with children (not criticism of the property as there's nothing misleading in the description, just fyi). The room with bunk beds is nicely situated next to a bathroom. It is however on the ground floor with the only window facing out onto the street and of the kind that I would not feel happy leaving open at night. There are motion sensing lights in the corridors and stairway. These are handy as you don't need to leave lights on at night. However the one on the stairs comes on if you're moving at the far end of the kitchen which may disturb anyone sleeping upstairs. Bathroom sinks very small and no mirror to shave in upstairs.

Nice and comfortable place. Felt at home. The open plan is good for family bonding. Would book again this place

Holidays in fantastic location! Positive: Absolutely spot on! Fantastic location with private car park. Property provides everything which is essential to have great time with family or friends. Clean and modern look, electric cook, oven, dish washer etc. Bathtub in bedroom, very comfortable beds and sofa. Beach about 10 minutes away by car. Shop 3 minutes walking distance. Definitely would book again. Negative: None

Lovely property in a great location. We were 2 adults, 3 children and a dog, so it was cosy but comfortable. Walking distance to a shop, playground, green and pub. The property was tastefully refitted and spotlessly clean. Unfortunately the dishwasher was not working but we were informed right away. All in all a great stay

Beautiful home, we felt very comfortable here and had a lovely stay, great pub mayfield down the road with kids area and brilliant food. Shop will everything you could née. Very handy for scarborough.

Fabulous property Positive: Modern property finished to high standard. Everything you could need for a stay there. Plenty crockery glasses utensils etc .Great beds with en-suites and bath in upstairs bedroom.Lovely little patio great for the dog. Comfortable convenient and clean Positive: Lovely modern property perfect for a family getaway. TVs in every room which helped settle arguments! Plenty cups plates glasses and cutlery available in the property as well as all cooking utensils you could need and more! Shops nearby to grab essentials and only half hour drive from flamingo land which is why we were travelling. We travelled as a family of 5, 2 adults 3 girls age 12,11 and 11 and a dog and it was perfect for all of us. Beds were comfy and 2 en suites made it easy for everyone to get ready in the morning . Negative: We were harassed by a rude old man to move our car at check out, they claim the property has no right of parking there and there was an event on. We were clearly loading up the car to check out and I advised the male of this but he kept going on about how we needed to move. This was just in the last 5 minutes of us being there before check out and I think we were just unlucky there was an event on that day but it didn’t spoil our trip. Would highly recommend .

OLD JAIL - SEAMER Positive: Deceiving from outside as pretty big once you walk in! Fresh and modern, we felt right at home. Was a short drive to all the key places although a lovely deli lay only two doors down and a pub a short walk away; all were dog friendly and within the village. Plenty of storage in the kitchen and nice touch with the bath tub in Master bedroom actually being in the bedroom and not within the ensuite. Negative: Not enough mirrors, tiny sinks in the ensuites and no storage in the ensuites either for toiletries. Not big problems though for what we were getting!

Very modern & well located Stayed here with my family and dog, is an excellent location. 10/15 minutes from the centre of Scarborough with lots of attractions around. Plenty of food options and parking was very straight forward. Clean, spacious and modern accommodation and would definitely recommend for a getaway by the sea

Would not return Positive: Parts of the property were nice Negative: The overwhelming smell of wet dogs on arrival. The extremely loud extractor fan on the roof that came on at all hours of the day and one night until midnight, I reported this and the response was sorry for the inconvenience The bed and pillows are very flimsy budget ones that are uncomfortable.

Beautiful house with excellent amenities. Very clean and well presented. A very enjoyable stay and good value for money. Village and local pub lovely.

A Stylish Modern Cottage with Character Positive: This is a beautiful cottage with 'nearly' all that you need for a perfect comfortable stay. For my party, we loved that there was a downstairs bedroom and bathroom as we are a party of disabled ladies. We can't thank the owner enough for their flexibility at check out as it takes us a little longer than most to get moving in the morning. We loved the modern homely feel of the cottage with high spec utilities, all mod cons and wooden flooring. There was an iron and ironing board, air fryer, copious amounts of glasses, crockery and cutlery, pots and pans, a toaster, a kettle, a dyson hoover, fresh towels and bedding. The washing machine and dishwasher are great additions. Reclining sofa seats were a lovely surprise. There were 4 huge TVs. Parking is at the back of the house, but we didnt use it. We parked across the road and pulled the car onto the No Parking area outside the house to unload and pack. We gave some feedback on a couple of things and I'm confident the owner will get onto these straight away. It really is a beautiful homely cottage and if the mattresses were of better quality, we'd definitely return. Negative: The mattresses were probably our biggest disappointment. Even with toppers, they were a little on the thin side so you could feel the springs and slats underneath. Our sleep wasn't great. Oven gloves and pot holders were holed with burns, and had food on. I put them out for washing when we left. The oven racks were dirty with burnt on fat splashes, so we didnt use them. There was no hanging space for clothes so we had to live out of our suitcases and the drawers. A small wardrobe with hanging space could be put at the bottom of each bed and chest of drawers moved to make best use of the space available. The advert said there were toiletries included, but there was no shampoo and shower gel so we had to buy some. Please dont let these small critiques put you off. This cottage is beautiful with a homely fee, in a great location, and I'd definitely recommend it.

looks cool but very overpriced for what you get, would not book again - sorry. Positive: it was quirky and well thought out in the design and layout, it has clearly had a lot of thought gone into it with the modern furnishings and fancy lights etc, movement sensor lighting is sustainable and the cooker hob very cool but not easy to work out if you are used to a plain old gas hob like me! loved the skylight as it let in natural light. Negative: No wardrobes - where were we supposed to hang up clothes? we were there for a wedding weekend and had suits, shirts and a dress to hang up ready to wear but not even a hanging rail in site !!!?? yet in the master bedroom was a free standing bath tub - who needs that when there are 2 shower to choose from?? and where was the microwave? most of all - no welcome pack?!!! no Yorkshire tea or milk left in fridge for our arrival, for the price we paid i expected at least teabags, milk, pack of biccies having driven a long way to get there. Don't even get me started on the size of the sinks in the bathrooms - so small!!! Bunk bed mattresses seen better days - very uncomfy!

Lovely place. Immaculately presented with modern furnishings. Very clean and tidy. 2 minute walk from the Mayfield Pub, Seamer Fisheries and a shop. Short drive to Scarborough. If you have young children the local playground is great fun.

Nice enough Positive: The set up worked well for us as a family of five with a dog. The secure yard was good for the dog. The property was clean. The kitchen and living space is nice and it feels quite spacious for a small property. It was generally well equipped but not enough cutlery and no toiletries beyond hand soap. Check in and check out was easy with the key in the lock box. Negative: The hall and the bathrooms all have automatic lights which is a bit annoying. I wanted to leave a hall light on for the children in the night but couldn’t. The bathrooms are very small and there is no surface space to keep even a toothbrush in the bathroom. The children slept well, but I found the double bed upstairs a bit uncomfortable. The main road is surprisingly noisy, even though the property is slightly set back.

Cute town, close to Scarborough

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a fantastic stay at The Old Jail in Seamer! We stayed here with my partner, our little cockapoo and my partner’s grandparents, and it was perfect. The property was lovely, comfortable and very well maintained, making it a really enjoyable home away from home. Having our dog with us was a huge bonus, and it was great to have somewhere that worked so well for a multi-generational stay. The location was also ideal for exploring the surrounding areas including Bridlington, Whitby and Scarborough. We all had a wonderful time and would happily stay here again. A lovely Airbnb that we’d definitely recommend! 🐶❤️

A lovely holiday rental very quirky and a great use of the space. Lots of equipment in the kitchen and many tvs ! Clean and in a great condition with nice linen and towels. Lots of lights on sensors and curtain/ blind combinations. 2 good ensuites for both bedrooms. We would recommend this property to others.

The accommodation was beautiful & is a lovely place to stay. Ideal for access to Scarborough, Filey, Bridlington. Well equipped & very clean. We struggled with washing & brushing teeth due to small bathroom sinks. Overall, a very lovely place to stay. The Mayfield do e cellent food, there are nice walks & a nice friendly village.

Lovely little hideaway in a great location. Hosts easily accessible and friendly.

Accommodation was very good, very modern and ideal for a few days away. Would struggle if wanted to stay longer as no wardrobes only draws but overall we would definitely return. It was very hot and no fans in the property until we enquired and the owner dropped one off. Seamer is a lovely place, fantastic food at the Mayfield and the fish and chip shop is fantastic. We loved Wilson's Food Hall, lovely food and drink and very friendly

A little gem of a place , so comfortable and cosy . Location is beautiful, easy journey into Scarborough . I normally find something to moan about but honestly could not find fault. Our host was amazing especially as we made a last minute change to our booking. We will most definitely be back 😀

Excellent place to relax Positive: Very clean and nice place to relax with a lovely pub up the road and a handy supermarket just a few moments walk away. Negative: Nothing wrong with the place as a whole was just very warm due to heatwave but everything else was spot on.

A really quirky property, furnished to a high specification. Lovely restaurant only a few doors down and everyone was very friendly. We used it as a base to visit North Yorkshire Water Park and Dalby Forest.

Posh and pretty to look at, but cleanliness was poor Positive: Loved the high standard decor and nice fixtures and fittings very comfortable like home . Negative: We all Didn't like the beds as the mattresses were very uncomfortable and that affected our sleep.i had to complain about the cleanliness.

Positive: Modern and very comfortable - has everything you need Negative: I was told there wasn’t a travel cot available so brought our own (with limited space in the car) but there was one waiting for us when we got there.

Described as small, but was perfect for a family of 4 with 2 children under 5. Lovely cafe 5 or 6 doors down for breakfast and a chinese takeaway was no bother. Close enough to Scarborough beach and sea front which is what we wanted, but without being too close. Great communication with the host - No problems, everything was clean and tidy. Really easy to get too with parking right outside. Slight noise from the guttering and fences in the upstairs bedroom, but this was fed back to the host so hoping this was sorted. That is genuinely the only bad piece of feedback we could give this place. Everything else, perfect.

The best property we have ever stayed at the property was immaculate in every way you could not fault a thing and in great village with great restaurants 5 star place

A very nice well appointed residence that has been renovated to a high standard. The accommodation was located centrally in the village 1 minute walk to an excellent food hall and a further minute to all of the other amenities.

Perfect little place if you’re wanting to get out to Scarborough or Filey. When we are back in the area this place would be first choice.

Clean, comfortable. Well equipped with quality pots and pans. Small hand basins but good showers and good location.

Lovely property. Very well furnished abd spotlessly clean. We had to ring the host about a parking query and they got back to us immediately. Great communication. Nice little village with a great Deli cafe virtually next door( Wilson’s)- would recommend. Would be helpful to let guests know they can park out the front of the property in the pre check in guide. Would definitely come again.

We had a bit of trouble getting inside, realising when we arrived that we’d not been sent the lock box code to access the key. After contacting AirBnB, the problem was resolved within the hour and we were refunded £60 for the inconvenience. Once inside, the property was clean and tidy and looked like the photos. Our only complaint was the upstairs bed wasn’t very comfortable and the upstairs bathroom was tiny. The living space was comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. There was a handy local shop and the coffee shop called Wilson’s, just 30 meters away was lovely and welcoming - would definitely recommend. Thanks for having us ☺️

Great base camp for Scarborough, Filey and surrounding areas. Very nice, modern property in a quiet but great location. Perfect for a quick trip to Cayton Bay, Scarborough and Filey or other locations such as Pickering, Thornton Le Dale, Ravenscar and Robin Hoods Bay. Morrisons Supermarket is 5 mins away by car and the property also benefits from a Proudfoots local minimarket, which is within walking distance. A great chippy is also just a few minutes away.

Good modern accommodation close to Filey and Scarborough. Well equipped and comfortable. Small bathrooms but rest of house is spacious. Parking at the door. A good base for the area.

Negative: It was very dusty upstairs, as if nobody had been in a long while. The furniture, the bath and even the TV remotes. If it had felt a little cleaner it would have been perfect

Had an amazing time at the Old Jail Barber’s Shop. Such a comfortable and inviting place to stay and perfect for visiting the nearby towns of Scarborough (only a 10 minute bus ride if you don’t fancy driving) and Whitby. With a local shop and pubs just a few minutes walk from the property, it’s perfect if you just want to stay local. Charlie was in hand the whole time to help with any queries and would get back to us in a matter of minutes if we had any issues. Would definitely recommend a stay at the Old Jail Barber’s Shop and will be somewhere I’ll be staying at again in the future.

Beautiful property with everything you need for your stay, exactly as described the only negative comment I would have is the property was quite cold for a February getaway but would highly recommend and we would stay again.

Not worth the cost or travel time Positive: The property had initial wow factor. The Chip shop is fantastic Negative: The property was not as clean as you would expect. There are cobwebs in the light fittings, the sofa is badly stained, as are the cushions, the glass doors are covered in finger prints, there were drink marks on the table, the glass skylight window is filthy, the are stains on the wall behind the sofa. The shower cubicles need to be thoroughly cleaned, the cupboard at the top of the stairs is a fire hazard and the mattress on the bed upstairs is too thin, you can feel the wooden slats. The freezer needs defrosting

Ideally located property The accommodation is brilliant everything you need for a nice relaxing break and the property is situated in a lovely little village which is close to so many coastal walks and attractions and when you’ve finished your day it’s so comfortable to return to and wind down and relax.

Absolutely beautiful cottage finished to a very high standard. It had everything we needed which gave us a real home from home experience. There was a fantastic guide app with lots of useful information about the cottage and the surrounding area to help us. Within walking distance there was a fab little supermarket for essentials, a pub serving food and a fish and chip shop. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend as a great place to stay with easy access to the beautiful North Yorkshire coastline.
