Amazing location and reasonable price. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Whitby that wants to explore. Was in walking distance of the beach and centre. Dog friendly. Great host

Disappointed with customer service and property for the money paid. Positive: Location was good. Facilities adequate. Light spacious living/kitchen area but basic. Negative: I got bombarded with emails prior to visiting. Focus on charges for damages etc and late check out etc... Had to ring for check in details on arrival day. On arrival there was a very unpleasant smell in the flat. I rang and left message for call back and got no response. I also completed first impression check in email. Again got no response! And still haven't. Nobody bothered to even acknowledge the issue. Dog blankets in flat were smelly. Poor cleaning in kitchen area on pots, coffee machine and kettle. Basic flat nothing outstanding for money paid.

Very good facilities and 100% dog friendly with spare dog covers etc. Positive: Light and airy. Modern feel. Good location for the high street and town. Negative: Was boiling when we arrived. Hot Sunny day but heating on 25. Turned down thermostat. However we woke at about 0600 sweltering as the radiator in the bedroom was too hot to touch. Same on second day when I turned off the boiler to avoid a repeat after burning myself against the radiator. Overall clean. Water and dark bits in loo brush holder. Shower difficult to adjust to avoid soaking the floor. Toilet roll holder top heavy causing 1st roll to fall into the loo pan. Had a spare thanks.

Positive: I liked that it was a whole apartment Negative: the parking, no spaces available outside the property. I didn't realise it was dog friendly and had a pet smell

Positive: - The location is excellent, walkable to all major points in Whitby. Great restaurants and cafes nearby. - The beach is barely a 5 minute walk, which was great - The accommodation is spacious for 2 people Negative: - The apartment was not very clean (hair in the bathtub, stained carpets) - The whole building has a leak problem (including the apartment) and smells of damp. Clearly needs repairing. - The hosts were not very accommodating with early check in (we only requested an hour earlier, and we were offered the early check in if we paid about 30 pounds extra- which of course doesn't make sense).

Some of the properties by the same hosts don’t have the best reviews… but we got a last minute discount for the May Bank Holiday weekend.. so we risked it.. for £90 a night this place was a bargain. Fittings & furniture are basic, but well styled and put together and perfectly functional. The rooms are massive - we didn’t notice the travel cot or the dog!! Haha!! A few DIY bits would make the place 5* and there was a black stain on the carpet which stained our socks (hosts informed) but other than that well equipped for a weekend away. Great location, easy to park, easy to check in and quiet. Thank you.

Positive: Check in ,parking Negative: Heating in bedroom didn't work ,frying pan is of poor quality as of knifes and forks no Masher,but apart from that we managed to make a Xmas Dinner👍

Comfortable and convenient accomodation. Positive: Quiet. Fairly convenient for Whitby train etc. Washing machine! Negative: No drier unfortunately. Very sparse shampoo/soap etc given we were there for 9 days and paid for this accommodation several months in advance. I think a ‘damage payment’ or whatever the euphemism is (£25) on top of the payment is a bit rich.

Always love Whitby, and made a change to stay in an apartment which was spotless and comfortable. Positive: Prime location in Whitby, great base for walking on the Cleveland Way. Great spot for pubs and cafes. Loved that it had a bath too. Negative: I am a stress head about parking, luckily got right outside the apartment. Lock box could do with a sticker saying Flat 2, as we werent sure which was the right box.

Positive: Love the free parking which is very welcome. Stayed here before and apartment has everything you need. Negative: Bedroom is too bright on a morning. Needs a blackout curtain to ensure you get the best of a restful night in the comfy bed.

We love Whitby and this apartment was well located for us and our whippet! Positive: Great location - found nearby on street parking; clean and comfortable. Didn’t miss anything we wanted. Good to have dog throws provided. Negative: Nothing to report!

Good location in town Positive: Proximity to town Negative: On arrival, bedroom window couldn't be locked, looked like ie had previously been forced, and as this opened onto a flat roof, with a convenient ladder down the side, wasn't happy. Reported and a guy came twice the next day and changed the lock Apartment looked ok on arrival, but is in need of a deep clean. Don't know when the toilet was last bleached The communal entrance hallway/staircase is filthy, with damp/paint falling of the walls

Property easy walk in to Whitby. Advantage of having a permit which was provided by host. Positive: Property very clean bright and airy and well equipped.

The only faults we could find that there was only 1 hand towel for the 2 of us and we were staying a week and the only knives for food preparation were a carving knife or a bread knife.

Great spacious, bright and clean apartment. Positive: Great spacious bright and clean apartment. Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and the icing on the cake being the added bonus of free parking which we managed right outside the front entrance. We've been travelling to Whitby for nearly 50 years and have stayed in caravans, arbnb, hotels but this was by far the best place. Not a negative thing to say about the place and have already recommended it to family and friends and will definitely be booking again. Communication prior and during our stay was excellent ... thanks Charlie

Positive: Ideally situated and modern.

A relaxing break away. Positive: The location, the parking permit, and the size of the apartment. Excellent customer service provided. Negative: We stayed in The Normandy-previously we have stayed in the one on the ground floor, huge difference between the two, hence the cheaper price. The Normandy needs a deep clean, and some TLC-rubber around the oven was coming off. No battery in the clock, kitchen light was hung down from the unit and didn’t work.A stain on the mattress protector. Things that can be easily rectified. Didn’t like having to pay an extra £19 for insurance for breakages-especially when the apartment itself had a number of things that hadn’t been fixed previously I assume.

We were there for 2 nights, mainly to see a local band, sunbeam, on the Saturday. ( highly recommend you see them ) . Great little apartment. Everything you need. 5 minute walk to the centre. Would definitely recommend the apartment and will use again when we visit Whitby again. 👍👍

Excellent in every way. Recommended. Positive: Clean, well decorated and very comfortable. Kitchen fully functional. Bed had an excellent mattress and we slept well. Also a very good tv and WiFi. We have been visiting Whitby for over 30 years and this is up with the best. Will defo use again. Negative: One very tiny thing was that the car parking scratch card was only for 2 days and our stay was for 3. But we know where to park for free in Whitby so it was not a problem for us.

Positive: Everything,all you would want in the apartment is nice & comfortable.. Negative: Had some really noisy neighbours in the apartment building next door on Thursday night/early hours of Friday morning,no fault of yours but it may be a problem to others.

A great little apartment, perfect to explore Whitby and the surrounding areas. Positive: Close to bars, shops and restaurants and the beach were all in close proximity. The property provided all the necessary things needed for a holiday stay and had been well thought out. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the bed was really comfortable. Negative: The property was a little draughty although the window in the bedroom was problematic as it had a broken latch and did not lock closed, on windy nights it was very noisy it would wake us up as the wind would blow through the window. The shower, whilst very powerful, would have to be hand held as otherwise it would soak the bathroom floor as it isn’t adjustable with regard to where the shower head is pointing.

Great location, close to amenities, but it's hard to find a parking space. Positive: Very close to all amenities, walking distance to everything. Negative: There was debris on the coffee table, not an issue, but it was obvious that part of the coffee table was not wiped down properly. The temperature of the shower could be hotter, but it did the job for our stay. There were no scourers in the apartment, so we couldn't clean the mugs, plates, and cutlery properly. Parking was the main issue, we couldn't find a space anywhere, so we ended up parking in Silver Street car park for the full duration of our stay, lucky that the car park was 1 minute walk away from the apartment.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Positive: The position of the property was convenient for town centre. Negative: Overall very good but perhaps more storage space in the bedroom.

Positive: Location is ideal for exploring Whitby. A few minutes walk into town or a coastal stroll. Negative: The carpet is stained in the hallway and at the entrance to the living room. The toilet seat was loose.

Overall had a wonderful time. Perfect location to visit Whitby and surrounding areas. Absolutely beautiful area and prop Positive: Very modern, clean and had everything you could possibly need. Location is perfect just a short 5 min walk to the beach. Bed was extremely comfortable and living dining area was a perfect size. Negative: The parking ! Couldn’t park outside and had to park down the road in a pay and display. So you had to keep checking your car was ok. Then keep receipt and apply for reimbursement. Which I’m still waiting for.

Good location but beware insurance cost Positive: Great location, simply furnished but clean flat (except for carpet stains). Negative: Instructions for finding the flat could have been clearer. Demand for £20 damage waiver even though my insurance covered personal liability for damage to holiday properties. Customer Service was abysmal - I forwarded all insurance documents requested to prove I was covered but I was repeatedly told they would check my policy up until the day before I travelled to the apartment. Finally, they said it took too long for them to reclaim insurance from customer's policies and a £20 damage waiver payment was, in effect, obligatory. So booking.com customers need to factor this into the cost of the apartment. Minimal space for clothes - no wardrobe or chest of drawers. This would be OK for a few days but not for longer stays.

It worked out very well. Good position, Negative: Waiting for details of key lock box. We were told it would be sent by 10am but at 1.30pm nothing had arrived so we had to stop and send a message. Would rather have the details before setting off on our 6 hour journey. They then attached a lot of useful information - it would have been so nice to read it before we arrived and perhaps book restaurants for dinner.

Management company want your cash. Use hotels on the same street for better value. Positive: ARRIVED IN TOWN EARLY. TOLD IT WAS 30 QUID TO GET THE ROOM EARLY, EVEN BEFORE 4PM. 4PM IS A LATE CHECK IN, ITS NOT THE RITZ. IT Wasn't CLEANED VERY WELL. CARPETS DIRTY, MAINTENANCE POOR, WINDOW IN BEDROOM UNABLE TO OPEN CLOSE, BOILER PRESSURE LOW, CRUMBS ON BEDROOM FLOOR, SO NOT VACUUMED. NEED A FURTHER GRABRAIL FOR BATH AS EXITING THE BATH COULD BE TRICKY. ROOM NOT CALLED ROOM 2 AS IN DESCRIPTION, NO HELP WHICH KEY SAFE IS THE CORRECT ONE, POT LUCK WITH THAT. BEING TOLD TO LEAVE BEFORE 10AM OR THERE ARE CHARGES, AND ASKED TO PAY 30 POUNDS FOR 2 HRS EARLY WILL LEAVE A PERMANENT REMINDER OF THIS APARTMENT. WE WILL NOT USE THEM AGAIN. SWERVE. I WILLL REVIEW IT INDEPENDENTLY AND INFORM FUTURE FOLK .

The apartment was great. It was clean and modern and everything you need. It is only a short walk away from the centre of Whitby and is near some charming pubs and restaurants. I would have preferred some better communication on how to check in however, I only got confirmation on how to check in at 3.30pm and I had already set off by then so was very stressed until I managed to check my phone in Whitby. The apartment was also very cold when we got there about 12c (the thermostat is easy to work though), nether the less minor things and we throughly enjoyed our stay! 10/10 will definitely stay again!

Won't return Negative: Location fine. But cleanliness an issue. Would describe it as superficially clean, as a few 'hidden' areas were dusty or worse. For example top of sash windows. They had what seemed to be black mould on

Beautiful apartment spoilt by dog hair on sofa and carpet. Positive: Beautiful apartment Negative: Dog hair on sofa and living room carpet. I suffer from an allergy to dog hair and I struggled with this issue. We only stayed one night as I couldn't cope with another night. I have made a formal complaint to Host and Stay.

Positive: Location great, central to the ameneties of Whitby. Negative: Additional Payment for the cleaning, the blinds in the bedroom were thick with dust which affected my allergy. The TV stand the same and black mould on the kitchen window.

Positive: Central position. Clean and comfortable. Negative: We believe we were misled re the parking. Expected a permit scratchcard that would give us free parking in certain areas. According to the apartment guide it would be left for us. It wasn't, so we paid over £40 for parking.

Great apartment great stay Positive: The apartment was beautiful and clean as well as being well presented. Super comfy bed , brilliant shower ( although did struggle a bit as it was over the bath) everything you needed was in the apartment even down to washing up liquid and dish cloths. Good job I thought to bring a tea towel as they were not provided. Small supply of tea sugar and milk was a nice touch. Would definitely stay again. Slight issue with parking permit but was sorted out immediately. Negative: Only downside was the sneaky admin fee on your damage deposit 😕

Nice location and property. Very clean but parking can be an issue. Positive: Clean, spacious and had everything we needed Negative: No parking disc was left for us to use and we waited over 1 hr and made 3 phone calls but still no disc was presented. Poor start to hour stay which made me angry and flustered which could have been avoided.

A superb little home from home to relax and unwind with everything you need provided, great location Positive: The apartment was spotless with enough tea / coffee and milk provided to have that all important first cuppa on arrival. Kitchen equipment was all provided along with tea towel, dish cloth, washing up liquid and sponges - excellent. Parking permits provided, quiet location close to main attractions. Negative: That we couldn't stay longer.

Host and Stay provided a terrible service. I would not recommend using them again Positive: The property was fine and clean Negative: The property management company Host and Stay provided a terrible service. 1. They added a £30 non refundable charge for insurance after we paid the booking.com final price. They refused to give us access to the property until we paid this money. 2. The property promised and included car park permits which were not provided so we had to pay additional on street parking when we arrived. 3. Host and Stay promised to refund the parking charges, but despite chasing them 4 times they still have not refunded our money

All in all it was a nice stay. Positive: The location was very good, short walk to town. Quiet neighbourhood. Would go there again. Negative: The parking is an issue. We had to drive several times around the neighbourhood to find a parking. And then it was 2 blocks away. Note to the owner: The freezer need to be defrosted. Massive ice build up.

Lovely short break. Beautiful flat. We'll definitely stay here again. Positive: The flat was spacious, beautifully decorated, with a fully equipped kitchen. The road outside was quiet, and the bedroom was exceptionally quiet. Really, really comfortable bed. Negative: I would have preferred the obligatory £25 deposit to have been flagged up in advance of booking, or added onto the room cost.

Positive: Location was good, apartment was very clean and bed was very comfortable. Also, the access was very simple as was leaving. Negative: Everything was good for the price. The stairwell did have a slight smell but that didn't distract from the enjoyment. 2 day parking was good, but can't really be used for day 1 as check in is 4pm,

Positive: Very clean, comfortable and had all the facilities. Great location in West Cliff. Note: West Cliff Car Park is free after 6pm, and has EV charging stations Negative: Not a criticism. Just a note to help find the property. Normanby Terrace is on the north side of John Street (i.e. its the same street) not as Google points you to, the back alley.

Lovely break in Whitby on the East Cliff within 5 mins walk of the town. Positive: Really quiet. Well equipped. Good location within an easy walk of the town and the harbour. Very quiet. Bedroom was at the back away from the street. Good facilities. Easy to get in and check out. Parking voucher given. Nice shops and bars close by. Negative: It was quiet when we were there so parking wasn't an issue but I suspect at a busier time of year it could be a problem.

Really enjoyable stay and great apartment. Positive: Very homely and cosy. Negative: Some marks on the dressing table.

Stay was lovely once got in. Apartment lovely but a welcome pack would be nice touch. Negative: We are usually sent details of key boxes before our arrival time but had to ring twice to get code which took forever. Eventually got in after ten minutes stood on doorstep freezing.
