Had a lovely stay. The Maltings is in a beautiful location and the beach walk from Budle Bay to Bamburgh is spectacular. My children very much enjoyed the well stocked games cupboard in the apartment too !

The Maltings in Waren Mill is a lovely place to stay in. A group of holiday apartments built out of old mill buildings, with a shared outdoor area and gorgeous views over Budle Bay with its abundant bird life. Waren Mill is a tiny hamlet with the only amenity being the pizza making stall by the camping site, so visitors will need to drive a fair bit on their trip. This is just the nature of a rural area like Northumberland. Nearest shop is the coop in Belford. Holy Island and Bamburgh are just around the corner and must visits. The apartment itself was clean, modern and well cared for, with many modern gizmos such as a smart speaker, smart tv and coffee machine (takes the big dome shaped vertuo pods). Overall a pretty good place for the cost in an amazing area of the country.

Positive: Beautiful location with great views. Clean, well equipped and comfortable accommodation. A great location for bird watching and for exploring the Northumberland coast. Negative: We had no water for showers or even a drink for part of our stay! The owner came out to fix this issue whilst we were out but did not correspond with us as to what the issue was. After it happened a second time it transpired there was a water guard at the property which must have been set to low and so kept shutting off the water mid shower or mid washing up. All the correspondence from the company was about 'extra's' which could be purchased rather than this key information. As a guest it would have been helpful to have been made aware of the water guard at the property and to have been given instructions on how to reset or change the time setting for this. This issue rather spoilt our trip. The lack of a reliable wifi signal in the property and poor mobile network signals further exacerbated the issue!

Lovely tidy, comfortable, well-equipped and well-furnished apartment in a fantastic location. An ideal base for exploring the surrounding area.

Nice location poorly done but a great area to visit Positive: The location is lovely and peaceful, you have easy access to all Holy Island, Bambrough, Bewick etc Negative: The Mill was turned into flats at the cheapest rate possible, no 1 has a cheap feel and was damp. everywhere is accessed by a code including the spot that the pic is taken of the lovely view. There is no book explaining the local area just a qr code to use on your phone (but the area has limited signal) there is no coment book either which doesnt help them

Lovely apartment in beautiful surroundings close to some great locations.

The location is beautiful and very convenient for lovely walks and there are lots of places nearby worth visiting. The apartment has a well stocked kitchen with everything you need if you choose to eat in. The outdoor space which features prominently in the photographs isn't actually part of the apartment but is a shared space set a little away from the building. We had problems with the WiFi and although Host & Stay responded fairly quickly they were most unhelpful with the advice they gave us.

We had a lovely stay with our grandchildren. The apartment was quiet and had everything we needed, although we were told that there was no freezer so we didnt bring any of our granddaughter’s favourite fish fingers, then when we got there we found a mini freezer. This was great but it would have been useful to have known in advance. The games cupboard was a huge success! The apartment was in a beautiful position overlooking Budle Bay. It was lovely to have the binoculars to observe all the bird life. Everything was clean and we felt very at home.

The Airbnb is in a lovely location, 5 mins drive to Bamburgh, 7 to Seahouses. A lovely stretch of coastline. The property is filled with books, games and everything you need for the kitchen. The downside is the apartment is very dark and quite cool inside even though we were having a heatwave, we didn’t need to open the windows even with no windows there were bugs in the house, there was an odd smell and quite a large stain on the carpet when you walk in. The listing is very misleading the outside space shown in the pictures is communal and you need a code for the gate to get into the area, the code we were given didn’t work and this wasn’t resolved for our stay. We booked the apartment for the outside space so this wasn’t very disappointing.

Lovely place to explore Northumbria coast from. Accommodation matches description. Beautiful walks straight out of the gate.

Really wonderful, quiet, comfortable place overlooking the estuary. The outside areas also a treat. Positive: Location was perfect. We drove but easy to get bus from Berwick upon Tweed or Newcastle. Lovely walk to Bamburgh at low tide. Caught the bus back but also would've been easy to walk. Buses are infrequent so some planning necessary. The windows facing the estuary were a huge treat with binoculars. Must be incredible in the winter. Negative: Single beds were too soft for all of us but saying that there were enough beds for our family and the rooms were clean and spacious.

we had a lovely stay at the Maltings. The check in instructions were thorough and easy to follow. we had no issues with the water feed or the hob. The Host communicated before we arrived about an issue, which did not affect us in any way, and were mindful of our privacy (thank you!). Now the nice part: the flat is located in Budle bay, on the national coast path. the view from the living room is fabulous, the binoculars on a tripod by the window is very handy! Lindisfarne castle is seen in the distance. the deck is not part of the flat, but can be used. the whole place was clean, the kitchen well equipped. the wifi intermittent. perfect! the children had to interact with us. the games cupboard is well stocked. it is peaceful and isolated, but a close drive to every place we wanted to visit. or a lovely walk to Bamburgh. the closest coop is a 10 minutes drive. we had never been to Northumberland before, it was a revelation and loved it. we hope to come back at some point.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Maltings. The surroundings are idyllic and you're very near to Bamburgh beach and Seahouses. We would stay there again. The bed linen and towels were lovely clean, crisp, cotton. There wasn't too much chemical fragrance. Sofas were comfy. The hosts are a management company and are very responsive but don't always get the right end of the stick, as they seem to be some distance away. We found the induction hob frustrating to use, even with the manual, it cuts out too easily if liquid is splashed on it. We didn't think the right hand rings worked very well. There isn't a freezer so if you prefer cooking your own food and taking stuff you've batch cooked in advance, this is an issue. Be aware that the cold water cuts out frequently. There's a very sensitive anti leak system. When using any mixer taps or the shower this can mean the water suddenly runs very hot. There is a button under the kitchen sink that turns the water back on. Otherwise it's awesome

We had a lovely stay at Warren Mill. The flat was nice and spacious for a family of 5 with beautiful views across the bay. We did however have a few issues with the water as it’s on a supply that cuts out after so long (not great when you’re in the shower) and also didn’t know initially how to turn it on. The cooker hob stopped working on night one which forced us to eat out more than we would have and although contact was made to try and get it fixed, that wasn’t achieved and no more contact from the management company. All in all we had a lovely stay in a beautiful location.

Positive: The location and views were wonderful The apartment had a fully equipped kitchen, with everything you could need - but no freezer or ice box in the fridge Negative: The directions to the property took you to the rear of the building - in order to go to the front you have to go 100yds up the road and turn into the unrelated Waren Lea Hall - there was no mention of this and it took a while to find - we didn't want to go into someone elses property There was no water in the taps or toilets on arrival. We called the number provided and the young lady said that she would contact maintenance. The maintenance gentleman turned up 40 mins later and it was just case of pressing a button located under the sink. We didn’t know this, neither did the young lady on the phone The beds were creaky and uncomfortable There is not enough seating for 6 people in the lounge around the small TV, and for 6 people to eat at the table you have to move the furniture Only I towel per person with no hand towels

The location of the accommodation was lovely. we had a slight issue with finding it as we went to the front of the building rather than the back! But one quick phone call to Host and Stay and we realised our error and got it sorted! The accommodation itself was clean and had everything we needed. We would not hesitate to recommend it and would be very happy to go back again. Thank you

Location. Wanted to give 5 stars but couldn’t as described below. Pros: Beautiful location. Great ground floor apartment. Clean, well furnished. Cons: None of the following were explained in the check-in instructions: 1. Keybox: We went initially (& logically) to the car park in front of Waren Mill and couldn’t locate the keybox. The keybox is actually next to a door in the rear car park, which is not well signposted. 2. Heating: Once in the flat, the main storage heating had been left off so it took 24 hours to kick in. The small electrical heaters in the bedrooms worked though. 3. Water: On arrival, the cold water was also cut off. This was because the property has a leak protection system called Waterguard, which cuts off the water if a tap or shower is left on too long. To reset it we eventually (by trial & error) pressed two buttons located under the kitchen sink: A bigger one under an LCD screen followed by a very small one next to a red LCD light.
