Great location and lovely apartment, perfect for us and the kids. Great layout which works really well for the family. Only downside was the double bed was uncomfortable. Setting that to one side, everything else was perfect!

A great spot for a family break to the Northumberland coast. The apartment itself is warm, comfortable and homely — the living area in particular is perfect for everyone to relax on at the end of a day on the beach. The location is great: 20 minutes from Holy Island and Bamburgh, 25 from Seahouses and 30 from Alnwick. One small note would be that it would be helpful to have small touches (tea towels, shower gel etc) but otherwise we couldn’t recommend it enough.
Nice, modern, dog friendly! Positive: Very modern and clean apartment with a well-equipped kitchen. Lots of attractions within a short driving distance. Great for families, and it’s also dog-friendly. There’s a very nice coffee shop downstairs with the best coffee we’ve had in the north so far.
Fantastic property, in fact seemed bigger than the photos implied. Lots of space for kids to spread out and big enough living/dinning space. Perfect location for Bamburgh castle and beach, and a trip over to Lindisfarne. Also the little coffee shop downstairs was a nice surprise- lovely owners and a treat to have a good coffee in the morning.
The Loft was perfect for us, we stayed with friends. The bedrooms worked perfectly for two couples and the living/dining space works really well for socialising while cooking. Everything we needed was provided and The Loft was warm and cosy. The area was great, plenty of places to visit. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. pleased we chose this accommodation.
Super apartment in a lovely area. Perfect for two couples or family.
Accommodation good unfortunately communication poor. Negative: We are extremely disappointed with Host and Stay organisation. On booking accommodation asked to extend check out by one hour 11am instead of 10am to allow extra time for my husband. It was agreed ok and we received confirmation by email. Just before setting off we received an email saying that departure time was 10am. I rang them to be told by a woman we had to be out by 10am and said the person who sent the confirmation had left. She wasn't interested in the fact confirmation of 11am was received from them. Later I rang back, this time spoke to a man who confirmed he'd received information about my earlier phone call and was told he had contacted the owners of the property about it. Another phone call made to ask about an update. He hadn't heard anything. No further communication was received from Host and Stay, not even during our stay until the day before departure when we received a standard text message saying "hope you enjoyed your holiday and departure time 10am". A real damper on the onset of a holiday and as a carer myself for my husband turned out to be upsetting and a worry. Our experience hasn't been good. Extremely poor communication from Host and Stay. We feel they broke a written agreement made at point of booking.
Positive: 2 ensuites Kitchen well equipped Comfy settees/ living area Negative: We arrived & the property had not been serviced. We had terrible customer useiess service both pre visit & when we called to report we had arrived & the property was unserviced. This property is run by Host Stay agency who we will never book with again. They are only interested in the money it seems not in caring for the guests they are supposed to be helping. The cleaning Manager & her team is the one who saved the day. She was wonderful & helped turn around what was initially a disastrous start to our special celebration birthday weekend. Also, pile of old rubbish out the back window, Not a lot of facilities within easy walking distance. Wouldn't want to walk to the nearest pub along very busy major road.
couldn't make the trip as my daughter who's birthday trip it was , was in hospital , requested cleaning element back as clearly it didn't need to be cleaned as it hadn't been used or any utilities used , absolutely zero compassion virging on hostility as apposed to hospitality - avoid
A beautifully appointed apartment that has everything you need for a comfortable stay, I was impressed by the extra touches for the 4 legged visitors. It’s well positioned for exploring this stunning part of Northumberland with the added bonus of a brilliant coffee shop just below it.
Excellent location and good quality accommodation Positive: Location and layout Negative: No enclosed space to let dogs out
Lovely apartment but not suitable for anyone with mobility issues or young children Positive: The apartment for the most part was very well furnished and equipped with a high quality and tasteful decor. Nice and warm and very clean. Distant views to Lindisfarne were lovely. Negative: The mattress on the main bed was of poor quality and very uncomfortable. The approx 12 very steep step stone steps up to the property were tricky to negotiate.Parking space was very small.
Had a fantastic stay at the loft. The accommodation exceeded expectations. Great space- especially if staying with friends - and very well equipped. Perfect location for exploring the Northumberland coast
Had a fabulous stay in Fenwick, a really lovely base to explore the area. We found the flat to be very comfortable and homely and easy to find everything. We enjoyed the views and the birds especially. Thank you for such a lovely place to stay.
Fabulous place to stay - loved our week! Positive: We loved this property. The location, the layout, the style, the decor, the comfort, the dual aspect views for sunrises & sunsets, absolutely everything was great. 2 bedrooms, 1 at either end with its own bathroom was perfect for travelling with a parent. We have had a fabulous week touring around beautiful Northumberland in glorious weather and it was a pleasure coming back to our loft to relax in the evening. Totally recommend and will definitely book again.
Lovely apartment in great location to explore the surrounding area
Nice spacious apartment which was conveniently located just off the A1 within easy reach of Holy Island & other Northumberland sights. Living area and kitchen was comfortable and well equipped. Small things that could be improved: - drainage in main shower (blocked easily) - bed in main bedroom was a cheap coil sprung mattress and was hard and squeaky. - plumbing in house was very noisy - no coffee machine - only cafetière and only instant coffee provided. Other than that it was a pleasant place to stay for a few days.
Stunning apartment, perfect location, spotlessly clean. Positive: This is an amazing property - stunning in fact. It is beautifully decorated, supremely well equipped and in a perfect location to explore the Northumberland coast and the national park. It truly is fabulous. The Host and Stay system worked well, with great communication before, during and after the stay. Very helpful contact (Charlie) was instantly responsive to any question and provided detailed information. The actual apartment (The Loft) is so fabulous. The bedrooms are situated on either end of a wonderful open-plan kitchen-living room-dining area. Beds very comfortable, plenty of storage in the bedrooms (each has a walk-in wardrobe), the ensuite bathrooms are lovely and everything was spotlessly clean. The whole apartment is just beautiful. It has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay (including a cafetiere - which made this traveller particularly happy). Comfy sofas, nice big dining table, well appointed kitchen (which included cleaning supplies and some essential cooking supplies too - salt, pepper, vinegar...). Wonderful views from all the windows - which meant we could witness the amazing sunrise on the first day. Though initially concerned about the parking situation (having read a few other reviews), we needn't have been. You can park to the right of the main building in front of the small village hall garden and if people are considerate there is room for two cars there. Even when we couldn't park there (on one occasion because we arrived back in the middle of the day when the coffee shop (which is connected to the building and well worth a cheeky visit) was open), we had no problems at all finding a parking space just round the corner. The location of this apartment is so convenient if you want to visit Holy Island, Northumberland National Park, Bamburgh (beach and / or castle), Alnwick etc.. This review couldn't ever do justice to this fabulous apartment and to the very helpful service of Host and Stay. Negative: Nothing. It's fab.
We had a really lovely time and would highly recommend a beautiful space and lovely and clean. Lovely and warm and a really stunning place to stay for a couple of nights close to the local spots we planned to visit. The only thing to consider is in the dog friendly aspect, with the house being up a set of steps you have to take the dog out on a lead every time you want to take them out. It is also worth noting that dogs are not permitted on the furniture or in the bedrooms which are off the main room and we didn’t know until the welcome booklet was shared in the couple of days prior to check in. So we felt very conscious especially in the evenings of what the dog was doing or accidentally leaving a door ajar.
Exceptional place, would return and highly recommend. Immaculately clean, spacious, comfortable and in wonderful location with interesting day trips nearby. Everything you need, detailed instructions, en suites with good shower pressure and comfortable beds. Also a super cafe underneath with homemade cakes and great coffee!
Very enjoyable visit. Everything was exactly as we would have wished. All as described and great response to enquiries.
Great location for Northumberland tourist destinations
Positive: The apartment has been renovated to a very high standard, it was very clean and comfortable and had all we needed for our 4 night stay. Negative: It's a bit far away to a shop or pub.
Great place to gather with a mixed group of friends with open space in kitchen living room. Close to Holy Island and Bamburgh and central for all of Northumberland. Would highly recommend!
Loved it Positive: Clean and lovely Negative: Nothing
Outstanding!!! The Loft is a large space above a converted village hall with two generous bedrooms each with an ensuite bathroom. It has a great well equipped kitchen, ample dishes, cups and cutlery with the use of dishwasher. The washer is Handy too. We enjoyed the peaceful location with short distance drives to Berwick upon Tweed, Lindisfarne and Bamburgh Castle. Nearby a great gastropub in Lowick(Bkack bull), below a coffee shop with a friendly hostess
Clean, comfortable & well equipped property, well laid out. Positive: Clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Negative: Parking was a bit tricky because we didn’t want to upset the locals. Cockerel at 5am onwards wasn’t ideal, but you’re in the country.
The Loft is very well equipped, better than any other self-catering I've stayed in. The beds were comfy and the lounge area is bright and comfortable. Warning:the hot water is very hot! The showers were good pressure and hot!
This was one of my favourite Air BnBs! Would definitely recommend!
Lovely apartment, has everything you need and close driving distance to Northumberland attractions. We appreciated the quiet village setting.
Positive: Brilliant size of property, bathrooms were lovely and lots of appliances. Negative: Would benefit from room spray, fresheners as there was lots of flies - probably because of fields/animals nearby. Beds are extremely firm.
The Loft was a fantastic space to stay with my family for a birthday celebration. It was a beautiful building which was tastefully furnished and decorated with excellent art. There was plenty of space for 3, and would have been fine for 4. All amenities were available and detailed instructions provided online and in a booklet. The host’s communication was excellent. It was in a nice quiet location, close to Lindisfarne island and Berwick upon Tweed. We hired a car and there was a parking space available. There was a lovely cafe underneath which was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday but we visited on Thursday morning after checkout and it was delightful. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one.
Wonderful place to stay! Great location, lovely space to relax in and fab cafe downstairs . Would definitely return!
An excellent choice for two couples wanting to explore the region. Absolutely perfect in terms of equipment and layout.Nothing negative to say.
Excellent accommodation with plenty, you will not be disappointed staying at this location. Plenty of space for four adults although there was only two of us. Excellent location for touring around the local area (Holy Island, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Alnwick, etc.). Local Inns recommended by the host provided good food and beer. Beautifully appointed and we would definitely stay there again.
Lovely apartment. Positive: Very well equipped. Beautifully designed. Great location for North Northumberland. Very quiet and private. Negative: The double bed and pillows - quite uncomfortable. Need replacing.
Stayed at the airbnb for 3 nights, was a beautiful, clean home. The bedrooms smelled clean and fresh and everything was clean. The Airbnb provide all the amenities needed for cooking and even cleaning etc and theres a lovely little cafe underneath for morning breakfasts etc. Some things that were slightly disappointing was the fact there was no blinds in the living space so at night time it felt very open, and we ran out of toilet roll in both bathrooms and couldnt find anything to replace them with, the shower tray in the master bedroom also floods in the shower, im unsure if the drain is blocked from previous guests however i think the volume of water from the showerhead outweighs the amount of water going down the drain so had to turn the shower off multiple times during a shower. The neighbours also have chickens and the rooster calls every morning at around 4am-8am which woke us up every morning. The master bed is also incredibly squeaky so moving through the night wakes you up.
Great location and lovely accommodation.
We had a great stay at the Loft and would recommend it.
A fabulous place, with two bathrooms as a bonus. Perfectly placed for Northumbria's Coastal attractions and lovely views out to the sea.
Great place to stay in lovely peaceful surroundings. If you love hiking it would be great. We traveled around by car and bus which was easy to do. The flat was amazing would definitely go again.
One of the very best we have stayed in! Layout is superb and only 5 mins from holy island ! Also great view
Positive: A great space and very comfortable, light and modern. Negative: Only thing I would say was we had a few flies in the apartment so a fly swat would be handy.
Spacious, bright and clean property with lovely sea views. Positive: The overall space was a real bonus, a large living area, kitchen and spacious bedrooms with ensuite facilities. It was a really welcoming and airy place. Negative: The outside staircase would be difficult for families with small children or anyone that was less mobile.
Fabulous little place out in the sticks. Really well equipped and very clean. There is a cafe down stairs and so many walks and gorgeous beaches nearby. A great place to stay
Positive: Plenty of space, double en suite, warm. Negative: Chipped cups, rusty pet dish. Porch smelled of cat wee (never saw a cat). Lounge lamp shade had dead flies in it. Shower tray in double room was slippery needs shower mat.
Excellent except low water pressure in the nook. Positive: Very easy Negative: Nothing
A real find - a modern and comfortable loft apartment in a quiet village but close to A1, with a good coffee shop/ca Positive: Beautifully modern, tastefully decorated, very well fitted out and comfortable apartment set in a lovely village that is conveniently situated for the A1 but still a very quiet location. The added bonus is The Bean Genie Cafe located in the same building as the Loft- serving fab coffee/ hot and soft and food. Negative: Nothing.
Great apartment and location Positive: Good location to visit Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle and Nothumbrian Coast. Apartment was comfortable and well kitted out. Negative: Nothing
Lovely place to stay, thanks for having us!
great place to stay, less than 20 minutes from Berwick, Holy Island and Bamburgh. Would absolutely stay again!
Had an amazing stay at the loft was lovely \n we felt right at home. Would definitely recommend. The area is very quiet and just what we wanted.
Well appointed and immaculate apartment perfect for an escape to coastal Northumberland. Clear instructions to help find it and how everything worked once arrived. Really relaxing space.
Very nice place. Exactly described. Very clean and the host was very responsive and friendly.
Fantastic apartment + hosts, would definitely return
Positive: Peaceful location. Lovely airy space with views of Holy Island. Easy access to communal garden and lovely coffee shop downstairs. Comfortable beds. Negative: Front door was slightly tricky to open (locking handle was very stiff)
Stunning holiday home. Beautifully appointed and welcoming. It had everything! Ideal location for exploring Northumberlands coast. I highly recommend The Loft for that perfect getaway.
Great stay on lovely apartment in great location to explore and walk Positive: Beautifully clean and well appointed. Great layout. Bright and airy and well designed
The place was very clean and comfortable, located in a great area with everything close by. Communication from the host was great. Highly recommend!
High quality apartment let down by beds and non-engaged customer support Positive: Very well equipped, spacious and clean. Great shower. Both bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. Close driving distance to Holy Island and other attractions. Negative: Beds not good enough for this price. Parking contention with neighbours (welcome guide implies there is a space reserved for visitors next to the apartment, but the neighbouring café owner believes it is hers and may box you in). Customer support was friendly but didn't put enough effort into resolving requests
The Loft was super close to Holy Island which was the reason for our stay. The apartment was really clean and had everything we needed.
precioso apartamento super limpio y con todas las comodidades!

Great base for exploring Northumberland Positive: Very spacious & well equipped Negative: Steep steps to property.
Fabulous little place in a lovely village setting. Hopefully back soon.
Enjoyable Positive: The spacious living area and the sea view Negative: The very late check in time and early check out times and the lack of flexibility. Also too many emails repeating the same things from host and stay.
Lovely, quiet accommodation Nice quiet location, with a small cafe downstairs. Very well appointed and comfortable. It was a lovely stay.
Very comfortable, clean, solid accommodation - actually bigger than it looks in the pictures - well stocked kitchen and a great location for the North Northumberland coast and castles
Perfect Spacious, airy and bright. The property had a great kitchen and a full array of utensils, enjoyed the fact the bedrooms were either end of the loft and had good ensuites. Very nice view of lindisfarne island on one side and rolling fields on the other. Village very peaceful. Really enjoyed the location with Bewick, lindisfarne and bamburgh a short drive away
Great location for a visit to Northumbria Positive: Clean, lovely location Negative: The double bed wasn’t very comfortable.
An amazing property. Quite possibly one of the best Airb&bs that we have stayed in. Immaculately clean throughout. In near perfect condition. A peaceful location with a coffee shop below the property but you couldn’t tell, it was that quiet. I am struggling to find anything wrong with the location. Perhaps a smaller bed than we are used to but that is personal preference and certainly doesn’t warrant losing all FIVE STARS. 🤩
Positive: The facilities at the property were excellent and everything that was needed was provided Negative: Hard to think of anything we didn't like maybe the steps.
Enjoyable Positive: Decor and the fact that it was a quiet place to stay Negative: Stone steps The front door at the top of the steps was stiff to open
We had a brilliant stay. It was clean and spacious. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend as a base for exploring beautiful Northumberland.
A great space! Fantastic location for exploring the area.
A beautiful gem of a place, with views of the sea right over to Holy Island. The kitchen is so well equipped and has everything to feel right at home. We loved the layout of having rooms at each end, both en suite, and the living spaces in the middle. It was also a huge bonus having the Guru coffee shop beneath, we went every morning for a cappuccino! Despite both the coffee shop and another Air BnB on the ground floor of the building, we never heard a thing and our stay was very peaceful. I strongly recommend staying here.
Lovely place, easy to find and very peaceful. Hopefully stay here again in the future
Fantastic place, had a brilliant weekend.
Great apartment with excellent furnishings, decoration and very well set up for self catering.
With a little bit T L C this could become a luxury 5 star holiday let. Positive: Well located in lovely small village just off the A1. Spacious apartment tastefully converted ex village hall. Well appointed. Bottle of Prosecco left after inspection by owner due to faulty shower in master ensuite. Negative: On arrival had to report that toilet seat was loose and in need of repair, if or when the cleaning was carried out this should have been noted, reported and repaired prior to change over. Repair carried out the next day. Mattress and pillows in master bedroom worn out and uncomfortable (had to put the 2 furry blankets from the cupboard in between the mattress and the protector to gain some degree of comfort) badly needing replaced. Feature clock not working, only requiring a battery replacement. Pendant lights grey with dust, badly needing cleaned. Cobwebs hanging from ceiling and bridging the candle holder on window sill. A charge of £60. included in rental for cleaning, one would expect a thorough standard of housekeeping for that.
Beautiful, spacious accommodation with lovely views to the holy Isle. Nice shared garden. Super friendly wee coffee shop below the loft provides the most delicious cakes with lots of vegan/veggie options.
Disappointed due to it not being clean Positive: It was very convenient for walking the St Cuthbert's way., but not ideal for people walking as there was no information about the local pub or convenient store in the welcome folder. Negative: The dirty bed linen on double bed hidden by the foot runner. Blood stain on a pillow case and black marks on the double bed bottom sheet. Therefore could not use the double bed.The un emptied bin. Dirty foil left in the oven with food remains that could be seen without opening the oven. First impression was finger marks on the glass door into the property from the porch.Had better welcome packs from a 2 star hotel. Fire regulations state safety increased with motion sensor lights in bedrooms they were not present and one by main door not working. Damage waiver not being part of the price.
Delightful stay in this lovely apartment atop a village hall. The place was spotless and decorated in a classy modern style. Light, airy and very relaxing. Easy access to the A1, Holy Island, Scotland and hundreds of castles! Would recommend.
Lovely stay in a beautiful part of the country. Positive: The property and the village Negative: The washing machine was noisy and the shower drainage was almost overflowing the shower base because the water wasn’t draining quick enough. I did clean out the outlet but it was still blocked.
A lovely apartment that is well equipped and tastefully decorated.
Lovely stay in this perfect barn/loft. Fenwick is a great location for the Northumberland coast, very quiet village location, with a handy coffee shop downstairs. Beautifully decorated and well equipped kitchen.
Comfortable, well equipped, light and airy which provided a quiet spot to explore the local area from.
The apartment we stayed in was everything the host said it was. I would book again with no qualms at all.
We loved our time at the loft. A lovely place in a peaceful setting. Everything was perfect.
Great location. Property is fine. Clean, modern, as per the images. Main bed is a little squeaky. It's the Host and Stay tail wagging the dog that creates the problems. Check in at 4pm - far too late in the day. Check out at 10am - far too early. They work this to suit the cleaning arrangements and not the paying guest. Cleaning charge £60 is excessive. Insurance fees are £25 for 2 nights which are compulsory unless you leave a bond. They won't release access details until the insurance payment is made. This is not clear and I had to ring them to clarify this. It felt like a scam. This sort of practice will kill AirBnB, the benefits over traditional holiday accomodation are slowly being eroded.
Positive: Beautiful apartment in a little village with easy access to Berwick, Lindisfarne, Seahouses, etc. Very helpful instructions from the hosts and a well-presented online information booklet provided. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Negative: Nothing at all.
We loved staying in this beautiful holiday apartment. It felt cosy, warm and homely. The place had everything we needed, was easy to find and was located amongst peaceful countryside. It was perfectly placed to visit Bamburgh and Lindesfarne, with plenty of good food pubs in the area. The hosts were friendly and quick to respond. Would highly recommend!
Beds very uncomfortable and master bed very squeaky at the slightest movement. Blinds don’t keep the morning sun out so awake on sunrise
All I can say is……NICE!
Lovely place with lots to do around . Big fan of Northumberland whatever the weather . The coffee shop 2s from the place I s an added bonus.
